Visits usually mean a short stay. That's really not the case this time.

She had come, basically, to spend time with Cassandra and say hello to old friends. Never had Charlotte even imagined she'd be doing this instead.

When Wyheree had told her about Skyler's murder, Charlotte was devastated. Skyler had been so very special to Charlotte and it pained her to see a life taken away at such a young age. Both Wyheree and Charlotte agreed that Tommy would rue the day either of them found him. For now, though, Charlotte remain with Jewell, doing what she could to help her sister.

Ever since locking herself in her room in the midst of her misery, Jewell was unaware that her children were being - not forgotten - just...well....that's where Charlotte came in. The younger children were told that Skyler wasn't going to be coming home anymore and that mommy was very sad. The older two, Amanda and Moradin, were more informed of the situation, and despite Charlotte's attempts to be friendly, they prefferred to tend to themselves. Their Aunt understood completely, but let them know that if they wanted to talk to her, they could.

Once all of the inquisitive toddlerish minds had been sated of their questions, Charlotte set about trying to keep things normal around the house and even helped Iona with the cooking and such. It was Charlotte's own way of keeping her sanity; her own way of grieving was to keep busy.

They played in the snow and went to the park, colored pictures for mommy to make her feel better, drank hot chocolate, blew bubbles, and played hide-and-seek. Charlotte strived to keep the little ones occupied and entertained, which wasn't difficult since she had to do that with her own children on a regular basis.

There was also the abundance of flowers, cards, and visitors that came to the house. The downstairs was beginning to look like a jungle almost. Charlotte was sure to keep them all watered and alive for when Jewell was lucid enough to notice them and appreciate everyone's kindness. Visitor's however, were turned away. Charlotte herself couldn't even get Jewell to see her - only Tass and Wyheree were given that priviledge.

Even with all the tension in the house, Charlotte wouldn't have traded her decision to help for anything. Family stuck together. She'd stay until Jewell was better and no sooner.
