..The cane fell from its baton-swirl through the air and landed handle-ward in her hand. She sat down on the dock, crossed her legs and rested the cane across her lap, staring at the sunset.

Her little game of Spot the Tobacco had proved fruitless. The usual late-night crowd at the Inn had only pipe-stuffing to offer or ideas such as burning some grass from a field and rolling it in pages from the Bible. Sol didn't need to inflamme any more angry gods or make a bonfire in the city streets anymore than she wanted a smoke, but still, the game of it was irresistable.

The 'elusive cigarette' had brought her into the presence of the Pirate Brothers over consecutive evenings. They were loud, jolly, teasing and hearty and she enjoyed occassioning these two, for much was to be learnt 'twixt the lines of pirate speak. The odd pearl of wisdom would sprout or a cunning satire on this town at hand. Or suggested pick-up lines and an innuendo to use next time...

Whistling a slow, poorboy tune she slouched and squinted her eyes at the sun, watching as its large golden glow disappeared into the sea, the horizon casting its finaly illusion for the day.
