Sounds like a challenge. Let's kill her, right away, Lucy.

I'm sure we could bring in several extra sources to be sure it's taken care of, initially. And then hang the corpse within the courtyard.

Bravo, hero. Since everyone here is in speech-mode, I might as well make al ittle one myself. No one giving a #$%^&* what we do makes our lives that much easier. And when someone of yours sooner or later gets hurt and dies, I'd still adore you tell us that you don't care. Like you said, cut the serpents testicles off while you can... or.. whatever the hell it was..

.. so rattle that box a little more.. or honestly? Pace yourself a little more like the senile old guy you're attempting to be. Because we're not here to exchange loving, sincere words.

"... Enough! It starts now."

"People on the sidelines shut up, and stay out. Father... Kindly do that, and let us get on with it... Now. And yes Alex, I grow tired of this talk. Come on Father! Prepare yourself!"

The words replayed in his head many times as he left the Hall. In truth he tired his best to play the whole thing off, but in the end he knew that was bullshit.. He knew they were serious and would eliminate Jewell if the chance arose, and for that fact possibly her daughter Amanda as well. Brian made for the Inn as quickly as he could to try to figure this out.

Upon arrival at the Inn, Brian began to ask around for Tara. No one had seen her, and advised she may be arriving later in the evening. That left Brian with some free time to get a few other things in order, before he met with Tara. Next stop, his Office near Rhy'din Proper.

Along the way, Brian managed to get a hold of a three couriers and dragged them along for the trip. Having them sit tight in the waiting room, Brian slipped into his office and began a series of dispatches, explaining in short that assistance was needed and to return as quickly as possible. Dispatches were made out for Edea, Narin and his wife Atheala, Katharine Reno, and Jeskola, and Rienna and Nyu at the Abbey. Brian met with the couriers, and explained what needed to be done, and even offered a substantial bonus upon return confirmation. In moments they were off, each headed to their specific points. Brian hoped the dispatches would reach them in time for everyone to get on the same page, and decide what to do.

Once more Brian locked up the office, and began to head to the stable when a voice cause him to nearly fall over.

"Ya always were in over yuir head, lad. Ya boys and yuir games, tis a wonder ya both are still breathin' this very day."

"What the hell?! Laike! Izzat.. Holy shit it is you!"

"Nice to see ya too, boy. So I see ya two are at it again."

Brian didn't really know what to say. It had been well over seven years or so since he had last seen the man who at one time had been a mentor to himself and his brother for brief periods of time over the course of their lives. Granted Brian's time with Laike was incredibly brief to that of Alex, but the impact the older man had on them was incredible. Suddenly here he was, looking pretty much the same as he did those seven years ago. That damned ugly red beret of his, that weathered face of a man who lived his own life and travelled to many places, a man who was of the land itself. Deep dark eyes, that looked as if they could pierce your very soul if they wanted to, yet were so gentle you would confess all your wrong doings before him. Dark locks were now grayed a bit, and it looked like that "fake" beard he once wore had finally lost its use as a real one was now in it's place. Brian just stared a moment, and shook his head.

"So you came to help?! If anyone can get to him it's y-"

"I'm Sorry, lad. I will not be stepping into this one. This is way beyond me, and not my cup of midget tossing."

"Then what the hell?"

"Sides, it seems ya have some kind of a plan. What with all those dispatches that ran out the front door, like bats outta hell. In any event, I am watching. But that is as far as it will go. This is something ya all will have to deal with on your end, and whatever powers that decide take an interest in Alex. Before I leave I've a word of advice."

"Yeah?"

"Keep in mind, that may not be all Alex who is commiting those deeds, same with the girl.. Also think as to why he would get himself mixed up in all of that. There may be something yuir missing. Also.. Dun play the senile old man anymore.. You'll have to force me to use a different manner altogether. Sides, they hate it when ya go senile. Just do whatever it is ya have to do, and prepare for the worst and pray for the best."

"Uh.. Alright?"

Brian pondered what the older man said, and looked to the ground a bit. Brian thought along the same lines in respect to Alex and Lucy, especially with the girl's demeanor variations as they were. Investigation would be key, and more help would be needed. Lifting his head to look once more to the older man, Brian smiled faintly.

"Thank you, Lai-"

Brian stopped in mid sentence when he saw he was once more alone. He didn't even bother to look around. Laike was always like that, in one moment and out the next. Brian sighed a moment, and walked towards the stables once more. A great deal would happen in the next few days to weeks, and it might have a great effect on many of those involved. Brian knew Charlotte didn't need anymore stress, so absolute secrecy for the moment was needed. He knew he shouldn't be so eager to run head long into this, especially since he had just wed, but this could not be avoided.

Brian knew more needed to be accomplished in order to take care of this situation and he knew he needed some bigger guns, and someone who would throw down without hesitation when it came to the Empress. He knew he needed Tara, and hoped he caught her on a good personality night. With her involved this could take a darker direction, and truth be told Brian had little problem with that, especially where Jewell and Amanda were concerned. Brian also pondered Skyler as well, as the young man was indeed smitten with his sister and cared for her a great deal and to boot was very good in a fight, according to many. Brian resigned himself to do whatever it took to end this, and make sure it stayed ended. Off to the Inn he went, hopefully Tara and Skyler would be in attendance.

That night Brian met Tara in the Inn, and was able to fill her in on what had been going and what was to come. With no hesitation whatsoever, Tara agreed that action was needed and a bold pre-emptive strike was needed, and it also needed to be a very bold statement, and example of what happens when one decides to turn their machinations on the Empress.

Skyer was also included, as the situation was also explained to him as well and he also agreed to partake in whatever it took for the sake of Jewell. A plan was hatched and set into motion, and assigments were passed around. Other ideas were kicked around, and when it came time to part for the evening, everyone had a firm commitment to do whatever needed to be done, good or bad for Jewell.

Brian left the Inn, made a quick stop at a nearby shoppe and then headed for home. After the day he had, he was just content with watching his wife slepp until he fell asleep. He was still worried about her condition as well, and still was looking into anything that might be able to help, both on and off world. Still with all that happened, the wedding pushed all the negativity aside in his mind. He felt truly complete for the first time ever. A bold way to feel, but it was true. Questions came abound as to why they eloped the way they did, why they didn't wait. Even Des asked what kind of trouble were they in. To Brian it didn't matter, he loved Charlotte and didn't want to wait and she felt the same for him. Everything aside, that was what was most important. In Charlotte Brian found a new strength, a new reason for being. He found exactly what he was looking for, that one person who could push him beyond all limitation, in body and soul. She was just that, his driving force literally, and so long as he had her in his life, anything could be dealt with.

Brian gently carried the medium sized box, out of the shop and set it down on the ground. Pulling his out his Warp Cudgel, Brian then took to a knee and activated it and in seconds was in front of the Villa. As he looked down, he noted the box had started to move a bit and could hear a small exhale and the shifting of the small blankets from within the box.

"Don't worry, we are home now."

Brian smiled, as he tucked the cudgel away and lifted the box. Through the front door he went, as the box began to move once more in his arms.

"It's okay, I promise."

After checking the time and noting it wasn't that late, Brian saw Jean-Luc pad on down the hall, and pause in front of Brian to inspect the box. Closer the big cat approached, and began to sniff the box and even nudged it a few times. Suddely a small paw reached out from one of the holes in the box and bopped Jean upside his snout. A resounding "Mew!" was heard and promptly followed with a few more swipes. Jean backed away, and looked to Brian, and then to the box and then to Brian once more and finally padded off down the hall and into the bedroom.

Quietly, Brian crept into the room, and set the box down next to his side of the bed, and smiled as he watched Charlotte for a few moments.

Mew!

Brian nodded silently, and reached into the box, and from the blankets pulled what looked to he a rather large kitten. Head to toe, it was all black, and unlike Jean- Lucs golden eyes, this particular kitten had bright blue eyes. In fact in the dark it was quite the sight, to see the pair of eyes roaming the room. Brian set the Moor Kitten onto the bed, and gently nudged it. That was all it took, as the kitten cautiously crept along the bed, and ended up next to Charlotte a moment. Suddeny a few swipes were taken, at Charlotte's locks as the kitten seemingly was having a great time. Brian changed, and began to slip into bed, only to find the kitten curled up in the space between Brian and Charlotte's pillows at the head of the bed. A soft purr could be heard, as the kitten began to drift off to slumber.

Softly, Brian spoke to the kitten. "Tommorow, you will meet mother, and she can name you. For now good night, our little shadow of a kitten."

No response was given as the kitten was fast sleep. Brian tossed a glance to Jean, who was at the foot of the bed, and gave the look of "Brother, that's yer monkey, not mine."

Brian patted the big cat, and then laid in bed and covered up. He couldn't wait until morning. Leaning to his side, he watched Charlotte and kitten and soon was fast sleep.
