The RhyDin House on the Waterfront was aglow for its grand opening on December twenty-eighth. Mage lights, worked into the ground between paving stones, lead the way to the newest, high-end restaurant in RhyDin. There was room enough for carriages to drive right beneath the cream colored awning that extended over the street, allowing wealthy patrons to step out of their carriage and right through the silver, wood carved doors into the lobby.
Anyone would be able to tell what the obvious theme of the lobby was?water. There is a well-sized waterfall that dominates the wall immediately across from the main double doors. There are seats along the edge of the pond that the waterfall flows into. For those less inclined to be near the water, there are chairs, couches, and settees scattered
throughout the lobby amidst the small, silver-barked trees?with tiny mage lights and bells hung in their branches?that are planted in the actual floor.
To the immediate right of the entrance there is a desk, left unstaffed for the night of the party. To the left of the entrance is a coat check; behind the coat check desk is a smiling, young elven lady with chestnut brown hair, prepared to take coats and other belongings from any guest in exchange for a small ticket. Perpendicular to the coat check is a small bar for those who do not immediately wish to enter into the main room; the bar is stocked with only the highest end liquors from around the multiverse.
When escorted through the double doors to the right of the waterfall, guests will find themselves in the main dining room of the restaurant. The floor of the main dining hall is covered in larger versions of the pink paving stones that line the outside walkway, giving the large room the feel of outdoors. The high, arched ceiling, with glass so transparent it might as well not have been there, only adds to this effect, as do the walls. The walls are mostly made up of all glass, save for either sidewall that has a slight partition at the bottom. Those peering out the southern windows gaze down on the more dilapidated buildings of the dockside area as well as the southern woods beyond; to the north, guests can see the lighthouse as well as line after line of ships currently in the harbor. There is a waterfall much like the one in the lobby in this room, only on a grander scale, to the left of the main entrance. Mage lights are hung throughout the room and cast a warm glow.
For the party, the main room is arranged with only several long, wrought iron tables, set for the exact number of people expected to attend. Along the left wall, another table has been set up; on it are the blueprints for the theater the profits for the event are going to as well as a small-scale model. A stringed quarter is another addition to the left side of the room, playing just loud enough for the music to waft through the large room and welcome those entering. Waiters move around, delivering appetizers and drinks to those waiting for the event to truly begin.
Those looking for a little fresh air can find it when exiting the main room via the door on the right side of the western wall. The door leads to the extended pier. The pier is constructed of the same silver wood as the front doors; it seems to almost glow in the moonlight. There are benches set along the pier and at the end, the perfect place for a stroll after dinner.
Perhaps, though, the first thing most people will notice as they enter the building is that Jewell herself is there, with Stephen at her side, to greet them in the lobby.
