Little Elfhame is a small neighborhood in the Old Market District along the water. After a year of being free of the Wolf-Lord, and run by what some may be calling the S?dhe Syndicate, the neighborhood is picking up.

The area is mostly iron-free. Technology does not work well (if at all) in the neighborhood without magical assistance. The population is mainly composed of Fae and Elven creatures: Faeries, Fae, Elves, Dryads, Hobbits, Centaurs, Minotaurs, Sprites, Redcaps, Boggarts, Pixieis, Fauns, and Brownies.

There are very few abandoned/unopened businesses in the neighborhood as it has been experiencing a renaissance. The few abandoned storefronts have the potential to be re-opened under new management. There are also empty living spaces (apartments and row-houses) available for those looking to move into a more fantasy-oriented neighborhood.

Some history and backstory for Little Elfhame can be found here and here.

This is a semi-open setting. It was created with the assistance of Aemildil Branchmane's player. The setting is open for people to respectfully reference and use (but not alter in any way) without permission. If you would like to create a character (or have an already established character) either live or run a business in the neighborhood, please contact me and we can definitely work something out.

Little Elfhame was created with room to expand. I would love to have others help me make it grow. Many of the people are currently NPCs, but that can change.

I?Yulna
Proprietor: Jewell Ravenlock
Type of Business: Bar
Location: Little Elfhame; Old Market
Hours: All Week 11am-3am
Employees: n/a

Description:
Meaning ?The Drink?, the bar?s original incarnation was in Old Town and was one of the best kept secrets of the Fae community in RhyDin. Originally, it was a place where only those of the blood could enter (or dared try to enter) and where the best drinks from the Lands could be found. Today, the best drinks from the Lands can still be found in I?Yulna, but the clientele is no longer limited to those of Fae blood. Anyone who wishes to is now welcome to enter the bar, which has recently been relocated to the Old Market neighborhood known as Little Elfhame.

The bar is attached to the building that houses Beyond the Veil (a speciality store owned by Jewell Ravenlock) and Faerie Fusion (a restaurant specializing in Faerie-RhyDin fusion food). The old and worn brick exterior is not interrupted by any windows, just a single wood door with a sign extending out into the street that reads: I?Yulna.

Most nights, there is only one person lingering outside the doors: a lone Elf, not dressed in the finery of velvet, silks, and lace of the realm but in clothes more befitting the modern trends in RhyDin. He played the role of non-descript bouncer, with the ability to remove someone from the doorway without even appearing to move at all himself. More often than not, he looked like he was dozing as he leaned casually back against the wall.

The inside of I?Yulna does not at all match with its outward appearance. Sheer size put aside--the immediate inside of the bar appears to take up at least five times the size it physically should--when people step through the door to enter I?Yulna, they find themselves outside. A cobblestone floor is slowly taken over by moss, grass, and ferns until it forms the soft carpet of a forest clearing. A starry night sky, graced by the moon of the Lands and not that of RhyDin, stretches overhead and the low murmur of people talking, occasionally laughing and singing, mingles in the air with sounds more befit a night in the woods. Trees grow intermittently here and there, some of species not usually found beyond the veil.

The only wall that exists is a crumbling brick wall standing directly behind a patron when they enter. It is perhaps the sole remains of a structure long gone, with a wooden door set within that served as both entrance and exit to this magical place. The trees that border the clearing become thicker and thicker, eventually leading off to who knows where. No one has ever admitted to exploring the woods within I?Yulna. Tables, couches, settees, and other such sitting arrangements are formed by the very elements found in the woods--trees, rocks, and even the ground beneath them--as if crafted by magic. The bar is of similar make, rock chiseled by magic not hands, and off to one side, surrounded by stone stools that are actually quite comfortable. The sound of water--a babbling brook, perhaps--emanates from further within the woods.

Perhaps the most enchanting part of I?Yulna is the people, gorgeous beyond belief even to those accustomed to the beauty that is hidden in the heart of the Faerie Lands. One can get lost in just watching them.

Beyond the Veil

Proprietor: Jewell Ravenlock
Type of Business: Shop
Location: Little Elfhame; Old Market
Hours: n/a
Employees: n/a

Shop Offerings
Beyond the Veil is a business dealing in the importing of goods (most notably spirits) from Faerie. Other goods are obtainable by arrangement. Beyond the Veil works with many local establishments to supply Faerie goods wholesale.

Description:
The storefront features a large picture window, the shop?s logo splashed across it in purple.

The deep floor plan had been drastically reduced by a newly erected wall. What was left was a tastefully decorated room more akin to a business lounge than a storefront. The room?s most distinguishing feature was an L-shaped counter that ran along three-fourths of the back wall and at least half of the right; it was made of silver mallorn wood. What little shelf space there was existed behind the counter, providing more than enough room for different bottles of liquor and liqueur as well as pieces of beautiful glassware: wine glasses, brandy snifters, and old fashions.

A desk that matched the silver wood counter was set along the left wall, two comfortable looking leather chairs situated in front of it.

Throughout the space, there were several low tables paired with more of those comfortable looking chairs, perfect for enjoying a sample of fine wine or other merchandise. The warm glow of mage-lighting added to the atmosphere. The black and silver damask wallpaper on the back wall was a nice contrast to the plum colored side walls.

Customers are not allowed around the counter and through the door set in the back wall, but those who were given permission found themselves in the extended back room filled with shelves and shelves of alcohol and other offerings from Faerie. There is also access to the a small ante-room that leads to the back entrance and the river beyond as well as the expansive cellar below.

The Empress

Proprietor: Jewell Ravenlock
Type of Business: Hotel
Location: Little Elfhame; Old Market
Hours: n/a

Employees:
The Empress is run by several different concierges including the manager of the hotel--Niccolo. Niccolo is a tall man of possible Elvish descent. His dark hair is kept short and slicked back, and he is always dressed in a three-piece suit.

Each staff member is extremely knowledgeable and happy to direct guests to desirable eateries, plan itineraries, or assist them in any other way.

Description:
The Empress is the place to stay in Little Elfhame. A boutique hotel, The Empress mixes other worldly charm with the modern and magical conveniences expected at the heart of RhyDin.

Located along the water in Old Market, with easy access to shopping in the Marketplace and the nightlife scene in Dragon?s Gate and New Haven, visitors enter the hotel and quickly ascend from the small, street level vestibule up to the second floor lobby. The decor there is urban and industrial chic, with exposed brick, comfortable seating, and glass windows and doors at the rear overlooking a small, courtyard garden with the river just beyond.

The hotel boasts ten guest rooms immediately off the hallways extending to the right and left of the lobby. The hallway walls are tastefully decorated with sconces and painted in gradient blues. While the guest rooms range in size and view, all boast the most comfortable furniture and lavish, indulgent bathrooms.

Although not boasting a restaurant in-house, the hotel entrance is just steps away from both bars and restaurants such as Faerie Fusion and I?Yulna.

The Royal Rabble Club

Building Function:
The Royal Rabble Club is set aside for members of teams sponsored by The House of Summer Inc. as well as their friends and allies.

In addition to being open for individual practice and training, classes and group training sessions are hosted weekly in all three sports. There is also space for mentors in any of the sports to practice with their mentees.

Building Description:
The Royal Rabble Club is housed in a repurposed warehouse in the Little Elfhame neighborhood of Old Market across The Mill at Little Elfhame (currently under construction). The entrance to the Royal Rabble club is a set of old steel doors at the front of the warehouse. Above the doors, etched into the brick, are the words: ?Nihil Obstat? meaning ?Nothing stands in the way?.

The main entrance leaves visitors in a well-lit hallway with soothing cream colored walls. A staircase directly to the right brings members to the second floor. Those who proceed straight have three options:
*Another hallway past the stairs and to the right which contains a private practice rooms
*Two doors further down the main hallway on the right which lead to the men?s and women?s locker rooms (members are often heard to claim that these rooms are more like mini spas)
*A pair of double doors on the left side of the hallway that lead into the main gym area

The gym is large and open to the second floor. There are mats on the floor; in several places there is are circles drawn on the mats in the familiar shape and size of dueling rings. Directly across from the doors, there is a weapons wrack to the right along the wall and to the left, a large area set aside for free weight and weight machines. High above the gym floor on the right hand wall are banners bearing the logo of the different teams who use the club. Next to the doors is a set of metal stairs that brings members up to the second floor, the windows there granting the perfect view of the gym below.

The second floor is really the ?club? part of the building. Only taking up half the building, it hosts a full kitchen with several dining tables to the left of the stairs. The tables also happen to be the perfect size for card games. To the right, there is an area of couches and chairs for relaxing. There is also raised bar seating on both sides of the stairs up against the windows. The bar has plenty of stools for those who want to eat, drink, and look down on everyone else practicing below.

Since the building is situated in the part of Old Market known as Little Elfhame, the building is not tech-enabled. All the modern conveniences in the building are magic functioning, including the lights and running water.

The Penthouse

Jewell?s current home takes up the third and fourth floor of the building known as the Mill at Little Elfhame.

Accessible by heavily warded elevator (an iron-free contraption powered by a levitation spell) and stairwell, the residential space has better protection than most fortresses, especially after the attacks in RhyDin during February 2017.

Downstairs
Exposed brick, high ceilings, and large windows overlooking the rooftop garden and the city beyond come together to create a space that is very urban-chic air. The great room is comfortably furnished with overstuffed furniture meant for lounging. There is a certain elegance to both decorations and color palette that makes the room tasteful enough for entertaining without abandoning the homey feel.

The dining room is spacious with more than enough room for large dinner parties or a game of cards with friends. The adjoining kitchen has several modern conveniences (oven, range, and some sort of refrigerator) all run through via magic of some sort.

Ishmerai?s room is off the main living space, opposite the kitchen and dining room, as is the den/library/office.

Upstairs
The winding staircase off the penthouse foyer leads to the additional three bedrooms.

The room nearest the stairwell is a guest room.

The next room is set aside for the time and dimension travelling Sapphire (as promised).

The master suite is at the end of the hall and includes a sitting room, bedroom, bath, and more closet space than even The Empress can probably fill.

The Perihelion

The Perihelion is the meeting place for the Council of Preternatural Activities, named for its appearance: a ten-kilometer sphere with an icy, rocky exterior, and several fusion reactors that vent luminous gases, giving the station a long tail like a comet. It has the ability to shift between planes, appearing in orbit around stars that have been designated as meeting places for the Council; as the station approaches its perihelion, the vents ignite, signaling that the Council itself is now in session.

The Perihelion has an off-session population of just over 3,000 people, which swells to as many as 7,000 in-session: this includes dignitaries from various planes and their staff; Council lawyers, analysts, and diplomatic aides; station administrative, maintenance, logistics, information technology, security, and medical personnel; librarians for the interplanar knowledge archives; service and entertainment staff for the on-board conveniences and amenities; families of those on permanent or long-term assignment to the station; and a number of Council-vetted caregivers and educators, as well as agents and soldiers serving the Council in different capacities. The Perihelion has a maximum capacity of 9,000.

The station is designed with more beings in mind than bipedal humanoids and those who breathe oxygen-rich air; there are nearly as many airways and waterways as walkways, and entire sections of the station have been modified to emulate the environments of many of the societies that hold Council seats.

((Many thanks to Alain's player for this amazing setting description.))
