Jewell experienced many sleepless nights. Yes, it was true that she did not require as much sleep as a mortal would. In fact, she spent many nights awake, roaming the streets of the city or roaming the woods and the edge of the sea, eyes turned towards the sky. Yet, she was not as many of the fey were, that taint of mortality forced her, many nights, to willingly go to bed out of need and habit.

Tonight was on such sleepless night, however. She had needed the rest, had been awake for the past several nights as she wandered the beaches in a sort of meditation. She was done with deep thinking for now, feeling at peace on some level, and was ready to wander Elysian. But that wicked little man who graced her eyes with that magical sleep sand skipped over her tonight so that she lay awake staring sourly at the ceiling high above her head.

She always had trouble sleeping alone. It wasn't that she was such a little nymph and couldn't manage not sharing her bed in that way- though, that was a part of the problem, she noted to herself with a grin. No, what she missed most was having a strong arm around her and a warm body to hide herself away against the darkness of night. Jewell Ravenlock would never admit to being afraid of the dark but there was something about laying in her large bed alone, when the room was pitch black and the walls and ceiling lost to the shadows so the darkness seemed to stretch forever. It made her feel small, alone, powerless.

And when Dream did take her in the wee hours of the morning, she was comforted by a mockery of reality where she did not have to sleep alone but could rest at the side of her young, dark haired Adonis.
