It had been a while now since she had been hired by Amal to work for The Oracle. It wasn't that being a reporter was her dream career by any means, but she was fairly good at writing and her friends said they could use the help. The extra money never hurt, too, what with seven kids to feed and clothe.

Jewell went about her usual business, translating and organizing documents for RhyDin's main library, taking care of her kids, and writing out an article for The Oracle now and then. However, with all her kids home for winter break she found it very hard to work in her home study on the few pieces she needed to get done for the upcoming election issue of the paper.

In a slight huff, she left her house and went down to The Oracle building to try and get some work done there. Unfortunately, the building wasn't much quieter than her study at home and her desk was an absolute nightmare--bare, ugly, lacking in all the supplies she required to get any work done. This was just not going to suffice.

She walked back out of the building mere minutes after arriving, going to summon those working men that always took care of stuff for her at the Forsaken Blades' Clubhouse. She gave them orders for what was to be done to make her desk at The Oracle offices acceptable and then took a tour of the shopping district as they went to carry out her commands.

In the middle of a busy day at The Oracle, seven men came bursting into the main floor carrying all sorts of building materials: wood, drywall, Spackle, paint cans, etc. With little heed or regard for anyone around them, they started working.

A frame for a room went up first around where Jewell's desk was supposed to be, right in the middle of all those rows of cubicles and other desks! Between the seven of them, they worked pretty fast (knowing they had to or they wouldn't get paid) and it was no time at all before they even had the drywall done. Now, standing out in the middle of the large, spacious floor was a brand new office. It looked absolutely awkward and out of place, cutting off the flow of traffic around the room and making it difficult for Amaltea to see some of the lower-ranking reporters from her office; though, the lower-ranking reporters probably preferred it this way.

Half of them men painted the outside of this new room to match the rest of the decor while the rest worked on decorating the inside. The walls were painted in a soothing blue, crackled to look like ocean waves. A brand new, expensive, mahogany desk was brought in as well as a fashionable leather chair to go with it. Two other comfortable chairs were brought in and situated across from the new desk for anyone Jewell might have to interview.

The men cleaned up whatever mess they made before leaving. The last thing they hung up was a sign on the new door they had installed for the brand new room: Jewell Ravenlock.

Chris was kicking back at the reception desk waiting to get the clipboard signed for the day?s delivery when he saw the chair moving swiftly down the hallway, followed quickly by another. It was just a glance but anyone could have told you right away that the chairs looked comfortable. That was good enough reason as any to follow and he was off, taking the steps two at a time and pulling himself upwards by the railing to catch up. Once there he just kept the pace, a slow jog that ended in the soothing waters of an office where the chairs were left anchored purposefully in relation to the rest of the room. He wasted little time in dropping into one and sinking, the audible sigh and droopy gaze a recognizable appreciation of the chair?s comfort quality. Socks concurred. The beagle having even bypassed the traditional turn-around-three-times-before-lying-down-routine and was out before his head hit cushion of the other chair.

?This is the right on man; I can handle hanging out in here. Think it would be possible to get a mini icebox up here to keep some milk in? Stash some cereal in that desk and then bam! Ya got a comfortable place to eat cereal anytime of the day. I wonder whose office this is anyway.? Chris was checking out the room as he bounced the random thoughts off the dog; silently contemplating a sandwich and a nap as well.

The men had sought out Jewell when they were done with her office, finding her in a new boutique that featured the latest elven fashions. She doled out money between them all, sending them off with assurances that she would be pleased with her office and, no, she didn't need to see it before paying them as they had never disappointed her before.

Spending a little more money at the boutique, she finally left to go check out her new office. She strutted into the building like she owned the place, shopping bags hanging over her arm. A little nod to the main receptionist before she was heading in the direction of her office, grinning as she saw how out-of-place it looked amongst the cubicles. She would certainly stand out now.

She paused before the door, nodding in satisfaction to see the sign. Just a little adjustment to make sure it wasn't crooked before she opened the door to find...well, the office exactly how she wanted it except for a guy and his dog inhabiting it at the moment. At least it wasn't some strange, random guy.

Chris's presence through her off a moment, she forgot to even check to make sure that the rest of the office was in order and just as she wanted it. A little confused tilt of her head--just how had he ended up in her brand new office?--as she moved in from the doorway.

"I don't suppose you're here for an interview or with the latest breaking news, are you?" Grinning at the RPS Guy as she went to her new desk, setting her shopping bags down and taking a seat in her big, cushy chair. It was only then that she looked around, noting that the decor and the setup exceeded her expectations, "Hey--this place looks great!"
