Late at night, Baker and Reap manuever up the walkway to Jewell's Villa. Reap pushes a wheelbarrow with some curious contents as Baker walks beside him with a smile on his face. They both stink of alcohol and cigars. Reap has a baseball bat slung on his back while Baker carries a blowgun with what appears to be a quiver full of tranquilizer darts. Rolled up in his other hand is one of Jewell's Franco wanted posters.

Inside the wheelbarrow is a large, securely tied, army green canvas bag. What's inside is big....big enough to be a person.

Upon reaching the door, Reap settles the wheelbarrow to the ground and looks to Baker with a grin and a nod. Baker takes a step forward and pounds on the front door.....

She had spent the late afternoon and most of the early night on the streets of West End. By all accounts she should have been in bed, exhausted and happily dreaming of long-haired young men, when the guys approached her house. Instead, she was pacing her study, overburdened by recent events. The night rarely meant peace and rest for Jewell Ravenlock.

Shuffling through papers, the loud knock on the door, which disturbed the tranquil quiet of the large house as all were asleep, understandably startled her. Wound so tight, Jewell had spun about to face her office door, hand raised to send a quick burst of mana energy at whatever may be there. It was a futile gesture that had her sighing, she needed a vacation. Setting her papers aside, she moved quickly to the front door. If whoever was there woke up any of her children, there'd be hell to pay.

She threw the door open, posture perfect and one hand on her leather clad hip. "Yessss?" she drawled out before taking in Reap, Baker, and the little tableau before her: alcohol, cigars, wheelbarrow, crumpled poster, canvas bag. Upon seeing the last, grey eyes lit up with something akin to childlike glee, "Is that for me?"

Baker's eyes did a quick head to toe checkout of the posture perfect Jewell standing in the doorway. A quick look over at Reap and he took his nub of a cigar out of his mouth with a smile. A quick exhale of smoke and he answered her, "Depends....you got them 1,000 crowns layin' round in there?"

A slight groan came from the bag in the wheelbarrow followed by some sluggish movement. Reap quickly gave the bag a jab with his ball bat. "Shaddap you!". Reap laid the bat over his shoulder looking to Jewell now as well. "How 'bout it, girl? You got that money? We'd hate to hafta drag this ole' boy back to where we got him from."

She waved the smoke away from her face, scowling at Baker a moment. It was soon replaced by a sugary sweet smile as she leaned on the door frame instead, "Well of course I have the money, hun. I don't make promises when I can't deliver."

A concerned glance to the groaning bag as Reap jabbed it, "Well, good to know he's alive. And would you be quiet!" Glancing quickly over her shoulder to make sure no one was stirring before looking back to the guys. "I have kids sleep inside, thank you."

"But yeah, I have the money for you but did you actually bring me Franco or is that just some bum you bagged off the streets?" Arching her brow and looking between them both.

Baker conisdered what Jewell had said. Was she implying that they were no good, drunken lying bastards?...probably, and maybe she was right.

He looked to Jewell with a nod, "I'll hafta warn ya Jewell, ya don't want to be opening this bag until you got him in a secure place, he was a fiesty one and I'll bet the drugs are about worn off. But if ya want some proof..." He looked over to Reap with a gruff up-nod. Reap caught the look from Baker and grinned. Reaching down, Reap inserted his thumb and forefinger into the top of the bag. After a brief search, Reap's smile grew bigger and he gave a quick yank. The contents of the bag squealed in pain and squirmed again.

From the bag, pinched between his fingers, Reap showed Jewell what he had plucked. A nice tuft of pink hair.

"Drugs?" She eyed them dubiously, almost feeling a pang of sympathy for the gossip king. Almost.

The tuft of pink hair was enough assurance for her. There was still the possibility that Reap and Baker had gone as far as to dye some poor bum's hair pink but that was stretching the limits of creativity, even for them. She pushed off the door frame, "You guys want to bring him inside for me? And I'll get the money."

She was already turning to open the door more and let them inside. "Do it as quiet as you can, too. You do not want to wake my kids."

Baker

Baker took a quick peek in the doorway as Jewell spoke of her kids. He flicked his cigar to the side and leaned against the door jamb. Reap took a few steps forward into the entryway of Jewell's Villa and pushed the handles of the wheelbarrow high over his head, dumping it's contents onto the floor. A grunt was heard as the bag settled into place. Reap wheeled the barrow to the side leaving it, as it was stolen anyway.

Baker smiled as he watched Reap unload the bounty for Jewell. "Alright, we'll keep an eye on him while you go get our money." He gave Jewell a quick wave to send her off, "...and hurry it up if ya would, my buzz is wearing off quick."

She frowned a little as her bounty was unceremoniously dumped into the foyer of her home. "Hey, careful with him!" She hissed out at them as quietly as she could. "If anyone is doing the bruising around here, it's me."

Rolling her eyes at them both and mumbling something about just what they could do about their buzz, she wandered back into her house. She wasn't rushing but she returned quickly all the same with a box in her hand. She opened it up to show the guys the neatly arranged silver coins inside. "There are two stacks of them in here." She demonstrated lifting the top level of coins up to reveal the rest beneath.

Closing the box, she handed it off to Baker. A smile, far from friendly, rose on her lips as she looked between the two, "Now, you do realize that if you have somehow scammed me or screwed me over I will come after both of you in a timely fashion and make your lives very painful. Thanks for your help and get the hell off my property."

Baker and Reap took a look at the money box and grinned wide while Baker took it from her hands. Jewell's warning was barely heard as they were both out the door doubletime and heading down the road.

"Dude, this should at least cover the cost of ale for the Voyage..."

She shook her head as they left, turning her attention to the bag laying in her foyer. She didn't want the drugs to wear off before she could relocate her bounty to her study but she wasn't cruel enough (at least not at the moment) to drag the GangSTAR all the way down the hall after the treatment he had received from the local drunks.

Sighing, she really was too nice sometimes, she knelt down. "I'm going to let you out of the bag if you promise to be quiet for a few minutes, all right?" Fingers worked to open the sack up. "If you don't behave I have no problem knocking you out again," she added gruffly.

More moans and groans at the rough treatment he'd been receiving all night. Cor was curled up within the sack in the fetal position, drugged into near unconsciousness. But then, it was amazing how sobering some bopping with a baseball bat and having some of your hair pulled out was.

He had no idea what was going on and was in some pain.

And could hardly even think through the haze of whatever he'd been doped with. Didn't feel like drunk. Cor'd been drunk before..this was hazy. But eventually a voice reached him and his muffled reply only came out...

"I'll...be good."

She hadn't been able to see his face in the shadows of the bag as she pried it open. However, she was becoming accustomed to that voice. She was good with voices, always had been; it was the fey-hearing, she insisted. Perhaps it was really that she was plagued by voices in her dreams and evening waking state at times.

Regardless, when she heard Cor's voice from within the bag she momentarily saw red. "Cor, is that you?" It was a rhetorical question, shouted as she tore the bag fully open to reveal her drugged and beaten friend, at least she would call him friend on a regular basis but perhaps not now, in a fetal position. She had to count to ten to keep herself from punching Cor just for being involved in this whole scam, although possibly inadvertently. Better yet, she had to count to keep herself from running upstairs, grabbing her blaster, and going after Baker and Reap right now.

"Come on, get up." She pulled on his arm gently to try and get him standing, "Come on, let's get you a drink of something so you can explain this to me...quickly." That last part was spoken sharply, she wanted her explanation, she wanted it now, and unfortunately poor Cor was the only one around who may be able to provide it.

Cor blinked as the sudden light from the opening of the bag overcame him. A hand went up to shield his eyes, allowing them time to adjust, and once they had, he'd blink owlishly at Jewell before accepting her assistance up.

He stared at her in mute incomprehension and then let his gaze wander, still occasionally wincing when his eyes traversed over a particularly bright light. A survey of his surroundings revealed he had no idea where he was. But that was almost par for the course, and now that he was up and mobile, whatever he'd been doped with seemed to be wearing off. At Jewell's offer for a drink and her request for an explanation, Cor first smiled, then stared at her with a perplexed expression covering his face.

"Explain..what? Where am I? Is this your house? I'm..pretty sure this isn't where I fell asleep."

Rapid questions as Cor tried to get a grip on what was going on. But then a sudden thought hit him and he turned to Jewell with a grin.

"Hey, I know. If you wanted me to come over, you could have just asked me!"

She had moved to lead him down the hall towards the kitchen when he tossed off his, "You could have just asked me" line. Turning about, she stared at him incredulously. He was serious. Oh dear sweet mother of nature.

"Cor," she kept her tone patient but just a little condescending, like she was speaking to a child. "If I wanted you to come over to my house in the middle of the night, why wouldn't I have just asked you? Furthermore, why would I have gotten Reap and Baker to tranquilize you, put you in a sack!" She gestured to said sack. "And then bring you in a wheelbarrow to my house, late at night, and deposit you in my foyer, making all sorts of noise and probably waking up my kids."

A brow was raised in question to top off what had become a slightly heated tirade. She gestured for him to follow her before moving off down the hallway towards the kitchen; Cor wasn't the only one who needed a drink now.

Cor thought over her words as they headed for her kitchen. Still coming to his full senses, he'd admit that what she was saying made more then a little sense. Baker and Reap wouldn't have brought him over at Jewell's request, they'd likely had some *other* plan in mind. But..what plan that was he had no idea.

He started to suspect when they passed a mirror and a bright blast of pink caught his attention. A bright blast of pink that had no business being where a bright blast of pink could be found.

He stopped.

He pointed.

He looked over at Jewell.

"Why..why is my hair pink?"

And suddenly..he started to get an idea of just why he was at Jewell's house. At night. With Pink Hair. He hurried to catch up to her, and when he did, he only said one word.

"Bounty?"

She looked over her shoulder shook her head, seeing Cor staring in the mirror that way. She didn't answer his question, didn't need to, she just waited for the moment of comprehension.

He didn't disappoint.

"Aaayep." Flicking the lights of the kitchen on, she gestured for him to sit on one of the stools lining the one counter while she moved to fix them both a drink. "Now I just need to figure out how to get my money back and enact sweet revenge." She paused mid-mix, realizing Cor only drank tea. Shifting gears, she prepared an iced tea for him and a whiskey sour for herself.
