Soft applause echoed throughout the tiny club as the young presence of a girl stepped onto the stage. The clapping died and silence filled the air. All eyes and ears were now upon the girl on the stage.

"Hello. I am Nayun. Good evening"

She started. Her head dipping forward in a low bow. A few coughs broke the silence from the audience.

"This is my joke." Red eyes scanning about the crowd. "Knock, knock."

She waited. Some murmuring voices rising in the crowd. After a some seconds, a feminine voice rose from the audience. She said "Who's there?"

Nayun leaned closer to the mic. Her voice to be somewhat muffled as she spoke against it. "Please don't."

"Psst.. Away from the mic..!" The man backstage said. Nayun looked to him with that awkward stare.

So she leaned away and said it again. "Please don't."

A man this time spoke up. "Please don't who?"

"Mother, please don't leave me alone with Father."

"I don't get it." A heckler in the crowd spoke up.

Nayun leaned forward again and spoke against the mic.

"My Father would beat me."
