Rohkan

Somewhere there was a very primitive land that still adopted a very archaic, yet simple, way of living. Crowns and gold and land were fought over, and they were fought over with armies of men who run each other through with such scientific inventions for this purpose as swords and spears.

Now we were talking.

This world was not one without its phenomenons, but we will call them fantastical things or simply magic. There were few cases, but they were famous ones. Two phenomenal and/or magical things had existed and formed an alliance here. One such was a seraphical entity in the form of a woman, the other a man whom a wind of bestial life passed through.

Together they overcame mercenary bands and small armies until they had their own, and today was the coronation of their knighthood.

Rohkan, the raid leader, and retainer of the Aspect of the Wolf1, rode through on horseback the kingdom of which he had most recently fought for. Behind him, his allegiance-sworn general, the celestial beauty who walked unaided by a steed several inches off the street by her own heavenly aura, Jen.

Her eyes were dry ice smoke hit with a lighthouse's white beacon. Her wings white, passing by as a swan's in silent swim. The individual feathers differentiated only by a master artist's imaginary or invisible guidelines.

Behind her rode the host of Rohkan's Raiders.

?It's finally happened. We've caught the king's eye.? one horseman, barely able to contain his excitement, spoke to his brother in arms.

Up ahead Rohkan laughed and snatched a rose out of the hundreds drizzling down from the terraces and balconies. ?Today is just added proof of things that should happen, happening.? He tossed the rose, still overjoyed by this unpredictable welcoming.

?It's all thanks to you, Commander Rohkan.? another horseman spoke up with an eagerness to praise.

Rohkan continued to grin up the road at the castle they were all making for.

?It is as clear as the image before me, that of the things to come...? Jen spoke behind her commander.

Rohkan's grin grew.

Inside of the king's hall, only as many of Rohkan's men who were not capable of threatening a usurping were allowed in. Decorating the every wall and space were the king's guards, practicing their one body and one mind unity and stillness and choreography.

1. Aspect of the Wolf is a gust of a bestial spirit that can partly animate itself into a living body. Like the wolf, the aspect can bring into Rohkan some abilities that are superhuman and bestial, such as heightened senses, bloodlust, physical strength and minor infections/possessions in appearance.

It was the knighting ceremony. Extraordinary services turned ordinary statuses into noble-made ones. All it took was the king's loving hands and gracious words to bestow. But Rohkan had something to say first, in-front of his thirty men and one angel.

?What did you say??? The King asked with a very awake expression.

All of the king's guards drew their swords, and in response Rohkan's men all drew their swords.

Rohkan grinned. He had not stopped grinning since he had come into the city.

?Your words are unfit to lead these people, and that chair is too big for you, and before noontide I will make it mine.? Rohkan thumbed to his black leather tunic.

?I will give you this one opportunity... so that you nor your men have to lose their lives today. Lower your swords.? The King ordered with a sure face, but this had been unnerving to happen before him and so closely.

?I do not use a sword.? was Rohkan's simple and quick answer. He flexed and unflexed a dark-skinned fist. He was a knight commander of mismatched armor pieces, such as wearing only one silver kneeguard and shoulderpad with his black leather scheme.

?Men!? The King pointed out his finger at the treasoners.

Their harmonious movements were like that of enclosing mirrors surrounding the thirty men, but the unflinching minority did not back down even an inch of pressure, and to Rohkan they were even unnoticed. He did not see things that, to him, were small. The only thing in his sights was making an empty throne.

The predator's eyes refused to blink, and his muscles waited for the derby gates to fly open.

There was a statement of combat that Rohkan's men replied to, and when the king's guard uttered it, they just as sure answered.

?Now, Jen!!? Rohkan blasted forward, fully relying on his celestial second in command.

The white-lit angel only required her commander's word to enact what she had planned. She always required her commander's word. She fully expanded her wingspan to discharge a violent gust of wind that lunged over the heads of her own men like hoplites in combat and took all the advantage away from their enemy, and gave all the advantage to them.

What this blast back had succeeded in doing for Rohkan was opening a clearing in the protection of the king, and his aspect had come into him and pumped into his muscles and his eyes and into his ravenous hands.

He was upon the king sooner than the battle itself had broken out, and seized the king's shocked and parted jaws in his vein-risen hands. And though soldiers were in combat for their lives with one another, they still took their attention away to look at this. In the game of chess, the battle stopped when the king was checked.

?Do you see what I mean..? Your words are not strong enough to stop me.? Rohkan whispered into the king's open mouth, subduing his eyes to rolling over on their back in submission with his very stare before pulling his jaws apart until they bled and snapped.

His lifeless and well-dressed body fell to the red carpet, but Rohkan did not let the crown.

Everyone had stopped breathing, and Rohkan held it up to them.

?This speaks the loudest, does it not?!?

His seizure of Chorrusaegrem was nearly complete, but all he would come to believe in destiny, and that it followed him, was about to change.

The sunlight that pierced through the Victorian glass of the throne rome devoured all it touched in a much eerier way than nightfall's own ?eating habits.?

The eyes of Jen watched this encroach upon them with a stupefied look in them, very similar to Rohkan's own. It reached a point where he had to shield his eyes with his bloodsoaked hand still petrified in a claw-like and slash-ready erection.

?Jen.? He said like he had a hundred and a thousand times over on the battlefield. Making sure she was at his ready. He would never get caught. He would never get beaten. He would always have a plan. He had not yet gone far enough in this life.

But some things you simply had little say in.

When next he woke, he was in a land full of sights and smells and sounds he hadn't experienced before.

There was something not right about this setting though all signs pointed to it being normal. He pushed up to stand and look around to see himself entirely alone in a spot of forest that wrapped up all exterior surroundings.

This forest taunted him. It was funny to it that he did not know where he was, and it teased him they would not let him see what they were blocking. But he wouldn't be made a fool of here where he felt most in his element.

Grabbing onto a tree suddenly and using it to propel him into a sprint. The forest was enormous, and he made through it like it were a cage trapping him. Only trees thick like this hid the sky from you. They only showed confusing puzzle pieces of sky high up in their canopies; pieces that demanded he see what the completed puzzle actually was.

When he reached a wall of bushy greenery, he breached through it, blasting branches and dispersing hundreds of shrub leaflets to the grass. When he emerged, he was on a tall cliff, and there were no more trees to block his view.

He stood by Jen's side, who had been here already for quite some time. In a battle-ready pose, he followed the lead of her outreached arm... and her pointing finger, biblically showing what laid before them. A cityscape of iron and brass-colored buildings that were not risen like buildings he was used to seeing risen. There was life seen moving within, upon and around these monolithic structures. But perhaps the most extraordinary thing had been the all-encompassing dome of even his aspect's farthest gaze.
