Christmas in Adenna
"Here, Mommy.. you should drink up. Get your strength back." Spoke the brown haired warrior as she brought her mother a nice steamy cup of tea.
"Thank you.. But you have no need to worry." The white witch of Liltu said offhandedly to her daughter as she reached to gently take the cup within her fingers, closing her eyes. "I have to say. I haven't had a great sleep like that in a long time." Plush lips met the edge of the tea-cup as she allowed herself to slowly begin slipping at the sweet liquid within. Seirichi couldn't help but give her mother a sort of stare.. She had just woken up from a forced sleep by the ice guardian.. She couldn't help but wonder what sort of nightmare she could have gone through.
"Mom.. It's okay to talk about it."
"Oh? There's nothing to talk about, Seiri. Dreams are dreams, you can't let them rattle you too much." Spoken with a soft chuckle and a shake of her head; followed by another sip of that tea. "It's getting a little cold in here. Perhaps you should put another log on."
The siovanui's lips curled into a half smile as she watched her mother change the subject. But -- with a sigh, she rose up and out of that chair and made her way over to the fireplace. "I'm just saying. Even if you say it was just a dream.. it's still alright to talk about it." Calling out with a look over her shoulder.
"Seirichi. Fire." Commanded her mother as she lowered the teacup into her lap.
"Fine, fine!" Another sigh given as she began to toss a few more logs onto the fire. Fine, she'll drop the subject of dreams.. for now. Dyarhk was nowhere to be seen. Only that golden axe, there, propped up by the door. The two most powerful magic users in Adenna had awoken from the Silken Dream of the Ice Spider, and a calamity was avoided. Situated in the haven known as "The Teahouse," it was the only safe location on the snow-capped mountain where the spider dwelt. And outside it was snowing tremendously hard. If the illusions and horrific dreams did not kill you, or hold you in a fantasy for the rest of your days, then the cold would. But thankfully they were all in one piece, all of them.
"The snow is coming down too strongly. You'll have to port." Dyarhk said, entering the teahouse from the front door, bringing in with him a whistling wind and chill, and Rijn Savorenius behind him.
"Very well. I'll consult Eizou on further guardian dealings. He has to have a plan brewing. While I'm gone I'll leave the Ice Spider to Lilith. I won't be long." Rijn said, hard to pass by that axe and not do a double take of it. Dyarhk laid eyes on the two women: The Lilith he was glad to see broke from the curse, and the Siovanui responsible for the crooked band-aids adorn his face. He watched her tend to the fire before he replied back to Rijn. "Okay. We'll wait for word."
"You sure you don't want to come?" Rijn asked back.
"If there is an attack on the city, we'll be there. Otherwise, I'd rather have the fight come to us, away, where no one else's involved." painfully sitting down, opposite Lilith at that cute table.
"I'll await your return." She looked to the mage after taking another sip of her tea. Her look lingered. A serious one that seemed to only fade away once Dyarhk took a seat in front of her. "You have a little something on your face." A few pointing gestures given to her own snow-white features as she gave a humored smile in his direction.
"You've already said that once, Mom.. It's losing its funny." spoke Seirichi as she lowered herself down onto a chair as well. "And good luck to you, Rijn. It was nice to see you again." Huff left those lips as she brought her hands up to brush back a few of those brown locks. Pushing them behind her ears and making a small mental note about how it might be time to get a cut.. then again, she did like it a little longer. But tucked strands would only slip out once more as she leaned forward to pour another cup of tea, sliding one over to Dyarhk before taking her own and leaning back to rest comfortably into that chair. " Ugh.. I never thought I'd have to come back here again. One time is enough."
"Now, now. You two will be able to leave soon. Thirty minutes of your time isn't too much to ask for. Right, Dark?" Batting her eyelashes toward him as she expected him to take her side.
"Is it really okay to leave you two here alone? You already fell asleep once.."
" Seirichi.."
The siovuani quickly rose up a hand to dismiss the whole thing. "Sorry, sorry."
"I'm sure your mother can handle herself. It's remarkable what she's doing now, so long away from the tower." Dyarhk took his cup of tea, raising it briefly to Seiri in thanks before drinking some.
"If it is as bad as you say then I shall waste no more time. Be careful while I am gone. Do not wander too far from the teahouse." Rijn warned, creating a transport post and vanishing with it just as soon as it had been created. And like that, suddenly, it was a great deal quieter in the little cottage.
"...Listen, Lilith. There's something Seirichi and I should tell you. And we have to now, while Tetch isn't here. She already knows, Seiri and I..." his expansive vocabulary had left him, suddenly, while he tried and placed the proceeding words, gesturing in circles with his hands. The words just weren't coming, and his agape mouth produced nothing. "....."
"......................" Seirichi looked to Dyarhk and slowly -- her expression turned from a worried yet relaxed one about her mother.. to a deadpanned one for the man who couldn't exactly get his words out right. So? Being the woman she was; she lowered her tea down onto the table and spoke out. "We're a couple now." To be honest; this was easier than the sort of fear she felt if and when her Mother found out. But Mommy? Seirichi just couldn't picture her blasting poor Dyarhk into a speck of dust.
Lilith seemed to grow silent at this sudden discovery. Her lips thinned out and tea found itself placed once more into her lap as she looked between the two of them. "............................... Is that all?" A blink. Followed by a raise of her tea-cup as she drunk from it once more. "You love my daughter, Dark? Or is this just a fling for you?"
"M.. Mommy."
Lilith rose an eyebrow to Seirichi; silencing her before shifting her attention back to Dyarhk.
Slowly, he too put his own cup on the table, and his hands gripped each the corners while he let the focus of his green eyes and meaning of the silence do some work for him. "Have you ever... have you ever experienced a moment of, sheer magic, and utter truth, from every part of you... telling you that the person in-front of you means so much more to you could ever understand. And in a display of mercifulness, something decides you're ready to see that worth. Like you are lucky enough, to get to see it. I imagine something similar happened between you and Tetch. For me, it took a near-death experience." covering that mark on his arm in remembrance. "I can't live without her.. that's why I have this marking. But that's okay, because I wouldn't want to live, without her. Do I love your daughter? -- " he looked to Seiri then, "Yes.."
