"Oh Gods, not another one." Poor Fred Jefferson. Day in and day out, his job as the recruitment officer was simple. Scour through application after application. Deny one applicant after another.. after another.. after another. Ever since the rise in crime thanks to the failed magic-act proposition, and even more now with the demonic hysteria on the rise, more and more less desirable faces for the Watch had been emerging.

One of these sat right in front of him.

".. Let's get this over with quick." He tried not to roll his eyes when he watched the girl attempt to sit prim and proper, though failing miserably since she kept squirming within the chair.

"What makes you think you have what it takes to join the Watch?" He began.

"WHAT?" Jesse said out loud, and at the top of her lungs. A few people peeked in through the window of Fred's office.

Does she have hearing problems..? Fred thought. Repeating the question. "What makes you think you have what it takes to join the Wa--"

He was then cut off by Jesse as she yelled out once more. "WHAT?"

Now he was getting annoyed. He tried to keep his expression neutral, but the red rising in his face was making it quite hard. "Why should I let you join the Watch?" He said, a little louder than normal.

"Because I'm the greatest."

Like I haven't heard that a million times already.. Fred had a flashback to so many applicants before hand.

"What are you the greatest at?" Humoring her.

"WHAT?"

".. What are you the greatest at?"

"WHAT?"

"WHY DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GREAT?!" He finally yelled out to match her tone in anger.

"Because I beat Jacen like the punk he is. TWICE. I'm also the current, greatest, and ONLY Keeper of Earth!" Jesse exclaimed in such a proud way.

".. Just because you're good in the dueling rings doesn't mean you'll be good out on the street." Fred countered.

"WHAT?"

The poor Watch recruitment officer pressed hands to his face.

"Can you just--" He was cut off again.

"I will join the Watch. Such a thing is mine by right and I will not allow some pompous pencil pusher like yourself to deny me of said rights. If you do not allow me to join your ranks I will yell things such as `Discrimination against Little People`, `Sexism`, and also say you molested me while I was in here."

Fred looked to her with the most shocked face.

"I also know Fio.. Let me say, I can make this very, very hard on you." A wide grin spread over her face. Shark like teeth shown to the man across from her.

".. Fine, you can join." He was tired of dealing with her. Sad to say, he couldn't help but hope she got mowed down like so much of the other Watch members he had recruited into the district.

"Yes! I also demand a boat!" Jesse chimed in with her fists held high.

".. Why a boat?" Fred sighed out, running a hand over his face.

"I am to be the commander of the Watch's coast guard, of course. Do you think of me as a fool? Of course I will not join as some stupid, insignificant grunt."

Fred looked to her with a deadpanned expression.

"Now give me mine boat so I can patrol the waterways!"

2 Hours Later

Jesse sat aboard a small tugboat. It looked to only be big enough to hold many three or four people. The boat slowly continued its steady coast about the waters of the Seaside district; the first of her many watery stops!

"Set sail.. for justice!" She pointed out to the blue water in the distance. Her Watch badge, which was now a buckle to the belt wrapped about the waist or her robes, shimmers in the sunlight.

Toot, toot went the tugboat.
