"Nayun!" Seirichi squealed out in glee. Poor Nayun soon finding herself within the Siovanuis rough grasp. No attempt made to fight it, she knew things would come to an end sooner or later if she just made like a rag doll and allowed her elder to sway her about within her grasp.

"Undefeated on your first day at the duels! With two shutouts too!"

The young girl of fourteen -- going on fifteen once a few more weeks passed, gave her normal look of.. Well, nothing. She didn't seemed exactly thrilled; though she was feeling quite happy on the inside. "My first match with Dyarhk was a tie.. So it cannot be called undefeated.."

"A tie is a tie, Nayun. It doesn't hurt your rank at all in these duels." Dyarhk said.

Nayun looked to the older man. His smiling face filling her chest with a gentle warmth. To be appreciated like this..

"C'mon, girl.. Give us a smile!" Seirichi called out.

It came slow but Nayun did smile.
Maybe dueling in Rhy'Din wasn't such a bad thing.

Nayun twisted about under those covers. The thoughts of the ArchMage Open Tournament still fresh in her mind. Another turn of her body and she'd find herself resting comfortably against her back. Right hand, the one that the Archmage himself touched brought up to hover before her face. ".... Strange." Murmured to herself. It did feel strange.

Red eyes kept themselves focused, watching fingers flex before curling them into a tight fist. Lips parted and let loose a soft sigh and arm returned to rest back against the top of her blankets. "... I wonder which one I should choose.." Lost to her own thoughts for only a moment. Her attention then turned to the crib at the other side of the large room. Kellie, unwilling to sleep, stood within her crib and looked her way.. and once Nayun had caught those eyes with her own; the small child began to smile.

``Naaaay`` -- the small girl spoke out loud. Nayun pulled away her covers and brought legs about to bend at the edge of her bed. She sat there for a moment and kept a stare on the child, who only continued to speak out her name, even adding a few hops of excitement. "I'm coming, my princess." Feet met the warmth of that wooden floor as she stood and began to make her small stride over to the crib. Kellie grew more and more excited as the distance between her and the older girl became less and less.

"You should be sleeping." Slow, calm. She spoke that way in the hopes that the youngest of the Ichis could catch on -- could learn. But her response was only a happy little squeal, something Nayun expected could wake the house if they weren't too careful. Once more the call of Nay! had sounded; this time with an outstretched arm. ".. Of course." She wanted to be held and Nayun wouldn't deny her. Right arm moved to scoop the child up out of her crib while the mechanical marvel of her right came for light support. Yes -- this is exactly what Kellie wanted, already slapping away at that exposed steel arm. It was cool to the touch and still new in the child's eye; so she wanted to explore it as much as possible. Nayun turned about and slowly made her way back to her own bed.

Kellie was kept close while young Nayun moved to situate herself comfortable within the bed. Once more laying down, except this time she had the bundle of Ichi joy resting against her chest. Wait -- resting wasn't the best word. Squirming, attempting to get more attention out of her caretaker. Small palm met with Nayuns cheek before a slobbery kiss followed. "... Are you congratulating me as well, my princess..?" Just the thought of it took her back to breakfast.

The girl had been silent most of the meal. Simply listening as the adults spoke about her. Techichi had joined them for the meal, something she had been doing off and on during her stay in Adenna. It wouldn't be till Dyarhk brought up the duels that Nayun would finally be brought into the conversation. "I really wish I could of been there for the end of the tournament, Nayun. I'm sorry I missed it." -- "it's fine. Please, there's no need to apologize." Dyarhk had been just about ready to respond but the voice of the younger Siovanui came quicker. "Who won that tournament anyway? Probably some know it all Rhy'Din brat." Seirichi then followed it with a laugh. Nayun took a moment to take a bite of her toast, chew, and finally swallow before responding. "I won."

"HA!"

A shake of the table. The culprit being one of Techichis quick palms. Nayun peered up at the elder Siovanui and gave a soft blink.

"An Adennian doesn't even devote herself fully to something of Rhydin's and STILL beats their best competition."

Then Seirichi began to laugh along with her mother. Nayun sat there in silence, something she shared with the male sitting at her right. "What're you planning next?" She heard him speak. Softly, only directed to her as the shared thoughts of `` Rhy'Din Weakness `` were loudly being flung about by the two Siovanuis.

".. I'm thinking about challenging a tower."

Nayun would be brought back to reality just then. No bouncing, no wiggling.. Red eyes looked down to spot Kellie sleeping silently atop her chest. "... Goodnight, my princess." Soft words for the resting child. Head pressed back against the softness of her pillow and sights looked up to the ceiling above. Though she wouldn't get much sleep-- ".. Goodnight, Adenna." She knew those of the city she hopes to one day protect will.

Rain

Heavy droplets of rain. Beating down with such force to cause almost all sound around them to be easily drowned out. The rainy season of Adenna, though in it's infancy, was growing quite strong in the western most edge of the city. Shiji Kumos winter may still reign supreme.. but it would not be for much longer.

The curtain of rain was a beautiful sight; it washed away the old and gave birth to the new once the season was over.

That was why Master would drink to it.

I watched as she brought that small bowl of sake to her lips.
I watched as she looked out to the rain as if it somehow hypnotized her.
I watched and wondered.. ``Would you be proud of me if I became Overlord?``

But I knew the answer deep down.
She wouldn't.
There is no path to the goal when it comes to fighting.
There is only the fight itself.
Self reflection. To better yourself for the next.
The only end is death -- but even death could be a new beginning.
Was it truly never ending?

Our style has no name.
Master Raine says there is no point for an act of killing to have a name.
It's there to end life and nothing more.
To add the flare of a name would only boast ones ego.

I like Master..
She only asked me to do my best..

What's on your mind, Nayun?
What do you have planned for today?

Silly questions. Master rarely asks me those.

Can you stand, Nayun?
Can you still hold your blade, Nayun?
Come at me with the intent to kill, Nayun.

These are the questions she asks.

Share this drink with me, Nayun.

Was a question I longed for.

Here we sit. The two of us. Watching the rain in silence.

"Since the last rain.. You've grown an inch, haven't you?"

I didn't expect such a question. My attention seemed to focus on the small bowl of sake held within my hand.

".. I do not know.. Possibly.. I don't feel any taller."

"My daughter has grown by six."

Looking to Master then. The way her arm rose up to show just how tall her daughter had become.

Why was she telling me this?

"She'll become your pupil.. when the sun rises once more. Do your best, Nayun. It's all I ever ask of you."

How can she ask me such a thing? I haven't even mastered the techniques just yet. Questions buzzing through my mind like annoying locus. Is this a test? Should I say no? Should I say yes? If this is indeed a test.. if I say yes, she might believe that I believe I am ready to take on such a task.. that my own view of my skill could be on par with hers? But if I say no, she could take it as me not wanting to train with her daughter..

"You think far too much, Nayun. Tell me the first answer that came to your mind."

".. I'm not ready.."

The sound of a snort.. or was it a laugh? Another rarity heard this day.

"Neither is she. It would be good for her to simply learn the basics, for now. Kamonbak may believe you're ready for the training grounds, Nayun.. but I do not. You must learn how to take charge, or you'll be eaten alive by those women."

I press my blade to my shoulder.. the feeling of it brings warmth even in the sweeping chill that came from the rain that we continued to watch from under the safety of the isle overhead.

Training grounds. Where women become true warriors.. and hopefully, Siovanui.

".. I understand.. I will do my best, Master.. I promise."

"That's all I've ever asked of you."

Another show of warmth.. That hand pressing to my head. It wouldn't stay for long, but the lingering feeling of it would last well enough.

That's all I've ever asked of you.
Do your best.

When she says such a thing.. why do I hear Mothers voice?

Afterthought

"The hidden blade mechanics are terrible for close quarters combat. If my right arm is restrained, I have no possible way of grabbing at it.. and the way it's positioned, even if it comes out once it's open, there is more room for error.. if I somehow fail to catch the blade after it's launched.."

Nayun spoke while looking to the ceiling of that familiar room; Dawns room.

Dawn looked to be far more focused on her friends outstretched mechanical arm. Grabbing her lamp to shine more light onto it as she leaned in from her stool sitting position beside the bedside table.

"Father asked what you wanted.. and that's what you asked for." Sounding slightly upset in the way she responded to Nayun.

".. and I asked for the wrong thing. I'm not criticizing your father, Dawn. I'm criticizing myself." Shifting sounding out while head twisted to the right to peer at the taller girl. "Let's say I'm forced into a situation where I'm unable to draw my sword.. if I'm pinned on my back. I need a way to subdue my opponent."

Nayun watched as Dawn thinned her lips and fell silent. It was obvious that the blonde had been trying her best to wrap her mind around the situation. It would be a minute of silence before the girl leaned over to reach at her desk. Uncurled fingers grasping at a pencil and brought it closer. "Here." Dawn would say. Pressing the pencil itself flat against that metal wrist.

"If one hidden blade doesn't work, add another. It'll be lightweight enough to not hurt your arms mobility. A few of Fathers clients ask for it." Nodding her head. Nayun would lift her own in interest. "It's retractable." She'd hoist up the arm and show the girl by gently bending it at it's wrist. Sliding the pencil up more to show what she meant. She'd then straighten the hand out while sliding the pencil back. "If you can somehow get your arm away.. Well, I don't need to explain what you could do with it." A sheepish grin found the blondes features then.

Nayun pulled her arm away slowly and sat up. Looking down at the false arm.. she could almost visualize it. Not only that, but she could also visualize the damage that could be inflicted -- and who she could inflict it on. Nayuns lips pursed just then as she remembered the events that happened hours before; the reason *why* she was even asking for this upgrade in the first place.

In a way? She should be thanking Miss Candy for this.

A warriors fingers have no rings on them

The sound of that window opening.
The cold, chilly wind that came brushing through the room moments after.
It was the tell tale sign that she was no longer alone.

Dawn rose those warm blankets up even more to cover over her shoulders as she sat up to look toward the window. It was quite late.. but when her friend came like this - it meant something wrong. The blonde looked to the darker haired girl, and the girl looked back to her. There the room only filled with silence before Nayun finally turned away and moved over to inspect the fishbowl that held the pet, Charlies.

".. What's wrong?"

It had to be asked. She knew Nayun wouldn't be the one to speak of it. During all of their times together it had been her who pressed the girl, it had been her who somehow forced her to open up even the smallest bit. At times it could prove quite annoying, but rewarding as well.

No answer.

This only caused the girl to purse her lips. The tired feeling that came with the time of nightfall had left her all together. Pushing away blankets and dangling both legs off of the side of the bed. Finally, with a small push off from her resting place, she'd be on her feet. The pajama gown covered blonde stepped forward slowly, only to come to a slow stop behind the other.

".. Nayun.. is it about the challenge..?"

Still no answer. It meant she'd have to press more. She took another step, but the moment her right foot touched to the ground once more would be the same moment Nayun turned about to look up at her.. and the same moment that look of surprise came to her face when she felt the smaller girls lips press to her very own. Dawn stood there in a bit of a shock - this wasn't what she expected.. not from Nayun of all people.

The kiss felt awkward to the touch, but it wasn't as if Dawn had ever experienced one herself - not on the lips, and not in this way..

There they stood. Dawn at her full scrawny height of 5'6". Looking much like a pencil - or that was how other girls jokingly referred to her. Then there was Nayun.. Five foot nothing, on the tippy toes of her boots just to push the rest of those inches to meet the half a year younger girl from below. Dawn would be the first to move, as of on instinct, to press her palms to her friends shoulders. Fingers curled and gave the smallest of squeezes while her mind raced. Nayun seemed unphased, but the blonde hadn't felt the same.

Thirty eight seconds. It felt more like minutes to Dawn. It would be then that Nayun finally pulled away. Those red eyes looking into Dawns own chestnut browns.

".. There is no need to worry. " Nayun finally said while lifting her arms up. The back of her wrists finding her friends shoulder held appendages and carefully brushed them away. ".. Rhy'Din is no place for me. Their customs strange, their sense of honor stranger.. Adenna is where I belong, and Adenna is where I should spend my time. I have neglected my duties to the Ichi family.. and I have neglected you as well.. and I am sorry for that."

Dawn couldn't understand what she was hearing. Neglected her? Yes.. Ever since they had become friends she was seeing less and less of the girl. Her time spent training, her nights spent in Rhy'Din. Once or twice a week, if anything, would she see her.. and it would only be when nightfall came, when they'd venture into bed and fall asleep till morning came.

.. but why kiss her?

"Nayun.. Why'd you-" She could still feel the lingering kiss against her lips. She wanted to press fingers to it, but Dawn had kept her arm at bay.

".. I care for you. Isn't that enough reason?" The black haired girl would respond, and Dawn was forced to watch as the girl casually stepped away. Those wet boots pressing to wooden floorboards as she stepped away. Soon enough the sound of footsteps turning into soft thumps as she discarded the boots all together and moved to slip into that bed.

"Tomorrow." The darker haired girl said. Something that forced Dawn out of her confused stare. "Let's go watch the rain.."

Dawn kept silent for a moment.. but then.

".. Yes, I'd like that.."

Vacation : Nayun

"Oh, hey! It's her!"

The voice echoing through the corridor was enough to cause Nayun to cease her steps. The sundress wearing girl turned to look over the metal of her false shoulder. Red eyes locked onto the three forms that stood a good distance behind her. The girl already felt a slight bit of annoyance. It seemed almost a daily thing on this ship to encounter them..

Drake.
Westen.
Cory.

"We didn't see you at dinner. Want to do something?" -- "The dance club is still open." Drake and Cory had been the two to quickly bring out the invitations, as usual, and it was Westen who seemed to be the quiet one. Though upon further study of the three during her time on the cruise ( out of their vision, mind you ), Nayun was able to figure out that it was mostly out of shyness. He had no problem talking with the two other boys when it was just the three of them.. and did they talk, conversations that even caused Nayun herself to roll her eyes. Cute girls, games, things they saw on television. These weren't men - no.. Boys.

There requests seemed innocent enough. They never hassled her much outside of simply asking questions. Wanting to involve her. Just seeming to want to be around her. Why? Why her of all people? That was simple.. The cruise lacked many people their age. Nayun was the only young girl, while the three of them being the only adolescent boys on the ship. Everyone else seemed to be the business type, honeymooners, and the elderly looking to squander away their retirement funds before their death.

"No, thank you."

They would ask. She would decline. That's how it's always been. Nayun didn't feel like changing it right now. Even if the Ninth told her to Get out, have fun, be a kid! -- Nayun didn't feel like following it. Right now all she wanted to do was take this hallway, turn left, venture down yet another one, move up those twenty four steps to the next floor of the ship, travel down yet another corridor, take a right, and come to a stop at her room three doors down; next to the fire extinguisher and axe. Her room for this vacation. Yes, she had the ship mapped out within her mind. Something that caused the Ninth Lilith to laugh at her for.

"Did we make you mad? You've been acting like.." -- "A b*tch." -- ".. Don't say that, dude." Cory gave his friend a bit of a stare thanks to his slip of the tongue. Drake perked a brow but then sighed out an apology. "Sorry.." It was Cory who began to step across the hall then, followed by the two of his friends. Nayun shifted within her stance so that she could face the three of them.

"There's only four days left of this thing and you've been looking pretty lonely. We just want to hang out, seriously. Nothing else." Drake received a perk of a brow from the Adennian youth.

"You sure you don't want to come dancing?"

I want to keep my virginity.

It's what came to Nayuns mind. Boys are unpredictable, she had learned that much in her Siovanui classes. Though she felt no need to fear most boys in Adenna.. Except that annoying Coldwater and his constant need to try and make her his bride; the others seemed to hold the understanding that she was the sister of the Queen and that they needed to keep to their best behavior when dealing with her. The men at the duels? Kind, but few in number. Plus she felt safer knowing that both Rachael and Candy had usually been around whenever she ventured to fight in those rings. Candy was strong, but Miss Rachaels strength was something Nayun could admire even more. She knew if anything happened, they would possibly save her; or so she hoped..

But here? While she knew without a shadow of a doubt that she could defeat these boys without any effort, it was still somewhat of an awkward situation.

Did that mean to simply cut herself away from the opposite sex?
Well.. it was that easy. Nayun wasn't exactly what people would call a social butterfly.

"I don't dance." It came sharp like a blade from her lips. They kept trying to take an inch, but she took it back without much effort. Her monotone voice was enough to pull any enjoyment out of the conversation.

"Uh.. then what do you call all that stuff you do in the morning?" One of the three pointed out.

Nayun looked to Drake in confusion.

"You know." it was Cory who took over then. Taking on a mock stance of Nayuns while beginning to, in the best of his ability, copy the different motions - step by step.

Nayun slowly blinked. ".. That isn't dancing. It's practice.." He was doing a poor job of it.. Nayun had been about to comment on it, but..

"For what?" Westen finally decided to join the conversation. Something that caught Nayun slightly off guard.

"Battle."

That's when the three of them looked to one another. Their faces reading Is she serious? -- something the girl wouldn't quite pick up on. After their sharing of looks, Cory turned and set his sights on Nayun once more.

"How about this. You come with us this ONE time.. and if you don't like it, we won't bother you the rest of the trip." He even held up an index finger to show he meant business.

Strange enough, this was something Nayun seriously considered. Putting up with them for an hour or so then saying she wasn't enjoying herself? The only loss to her in this situation would be time.. But she'd gain more of it without having to deal with them again. She stood there in silence while the three boys looked and waited for her answer. Seconds turned to a minute.. The boys looking to her, she looking to them. That awkward silence of the hallway surrounding all of them.

"Fine."

The sounds of palms slapping to one another. High fives all around! "See, I told you we'd get to hang out with a girl..!" -- ".. She can hear you, dude.."

Nayun wasn't finished. She step closer to them, the three now looking pretty excited, except for Cory.. though Nayun didn't realize it - he was trying to play cool. "I will not dance. I have already eaten enough for the day. I will not sing, I will not swim." Her steps not stopping. Pushing past one of them while the other two seemed to realize her game of chicken. "I will play ping-pong." Turning to take that corner. "Come."

The three didn't wait. After another look between each of them, they'd quickly spring to action and follow behind the girl.

"You better watch out! I'm the best ping-pong player on the ship!" Drake was the first to try and impress Nayun.
"No you're not, dude.. I beat you yesterday!" Cory being the second.
"I'm better than the both of you.." Westens shyness looked to be dwindling away with the way he tried to out-talk his two friends.

The sundress wearing girl walked in silence in front of the three.
She could only hope the hour passes by quickly..

Once it did?

Nayun stood there in a bit of a daze. Paddle held up but missing its target.. that white ball whizzing past her face. "...."

"Thirty two to seven! You ready to give up, Nayun?!" Westen came out of his shell it seemed. Pointing his paddle at the girl while the two other boys laughed out.

"... Ball." She finally said. Holding out her palm. She didn't need to wait for long as Drake gathered up the small thing and placed it into her hand. Nayun stood there.. she came into this situation wanting to get rid of the three, but in the end - it seemed she had enjoyed the time they had together. She had defeated not one, but two of them; easily.. but the third of the trio? Westen had been making this hard on her.

"You know they play movies throughout the night. You want to see one?" Nayun turned to Cory, the one who asked the question. "Yeah, I think it's horror tonight." Westen tapped his paddle against the table while adding his own words in.

".. I want to play ping-pong." The girl said, about to resume playing. Drakes voice stopped her.

"We can play more tomorrow. Our folks aren't going to want us out too late."

Nayun stared to him for a moment. Her paddle held back, her hand just about ready to drop the ball to begin to her serve. She wanted to continue playing, but his words did seem reasonable. They had parents to get back to - and Nayun had her duties. "... Fine, but I will be remembering the score." Making sure to tell the boy opposite of the table that as she placed the paddle and ball down.

The boys didn't say anything about that. They only looked to one another and smiled. Nayun caught the look and blinked. No longer did she have the thoughts of leaving them behind. In all honesty? She had completely forgotten about the deal she had struck with Cory.

Through the hall they'd go. Their voices echoing out.
Next destination? The theater.

"You like popcorn? We can share some."
"No."

"What about nachos?"
"No."

"Candy?"
"No."

It just doesn't feel right..

"Why'd you leave then?" Dawn looked to the smaller girl. Nayun had been currently busy moving about those new ear studs. It wouldn't take long for the blonde to lean closer to bat her hand away before padding at the two spots at the right ear lobe with a cotton ball and peroxide. "If you keep messing with them they might get infected. Twisting is fine.. but don't tug too much." Nayun listened on in silence, and continued to not speak even after her friend instructed her to turn about so she could do the other side - something Nayun did without delay. ".. But, about why you left. Did you go back to the Ichis..?"

Nayun closed her red eyes and let out a soft breath. "I'm not apart of your family, Dawn.. I didn't want to be a burden." A small twinge of pain felt, but easily ignored. Her ears felt somewhat tender after recently being pierced. Dawn gave a pout while twisting about Nayun to make sure she saw it. "Don't be dumb. Mother and Father were happy to have you around. Father was the one to pick those earrings you know.. he just didn't know you weren't pierced.." Which had been the reason why the blonde, along with a trusty sewing needle, had been the one to fix the problem; at Nayuns request, of course. "You're important to us now too, Nayun.. You're important to me." She'd offer the girl a smile. "We're friends." Nayun looked to this smile with an almost blank expression. Her mind, after a moment of thought, telling her to smile back. Not that she wanted to - but because it was the best thing to do in the situation. Dawn was smiling, she should smile back, it would make her happy.. so she'd do it.

".. It's still sad though.. you know, with what happened.."

The subject changed. She didn't need to add onto her words. Nayun knew exactly what she meant.

".. That's why I was surprised when you came.. I thought you'd want to be with your family.." Dawn said while tossing the cotton ball into the trashcan between her desk and bed. Nayun listened to the girls words and responded after a few paused seconds. "I couldn't. I'm confused around them right now." Dawn looked to Nayun with a questioning expression. She couldn't understand what the dark haired girl had meant. ".. What do you mean?"

"I haven't cried. I don't feel sad. I should, shouldn't I? Miss Seirichi, I can see, is trying her hardest to stay strong. Miss Corea, I can hear her cry at night. Marissa and Kellie are too young to understand fully.. but Karaichi." Her voice was in a monotone - void of emotion and sounding quite distant. "I feel I am dishonoring them and their memory of him by not mourning with them in their way, but I just cannot."

".. How..? I mean.. why don't you feel sad?" Even Dawn had felt saddened by the events. It was why her friends lack of emotions had seriously confused her.

"Dyarhk died a hero and a warrior. You do not mourn a warrior, you look to them with hopes to one day become as strong as them." The way her lips wrapped about the words made it seem like she was reciting them word for word by some document. It made the blonde dip her head and bit her bottom lip. "He gave Adenna another day. If it came with the cost of his life, so be it. I believe even Dyarhk knew this before fighting Daichi. That is the type of man he is." Nayun finished.

"... But.. Nayun.." Nayun found her hand taken by Dawn. Dark strands of hair sliding from her shoulders as she slowly looked up at the taller girls face.

".. it's okay to cry.. you.. you don't have to act strong in front of me.." Dawn said in a worried look. People should cry, people should show pain, people should mourn the loss of someone close; this is what Dawn knew as the truth.. it was why she couldn't quite understand why her friend was talking like this.

".. but, Dawn.. I'm not acting."

Silence came after those words. Dawn looked to her, she looked to Dawn. Silence was problematic. If Dawn wasn't talking, she must be upset. Nayun tried her best to wrap her thoughts around the current situation. Perhaps she should of said nothing at all on the subject of Dyarhk, but Dawn was someone she felt she could be open with. Red eyes turned within sockets to peer off to the side. Looking back then, watching as Dawns body gave a slight slump.. feeling those fingers loosen their grip.

What was this girls problem? Then she heard it. That.. sniff. Seeing the glimmer of a tear roll past her friends cheek. This only made Nayun think.. Why is she crying? What is the point? - How can she make her stop? Patting her shoulder? A hug? A hug works with Karaichi when he is crying. Should she leave her alone?

".. That's sad, Nayun.." Dawn tried her best to sniff back forming tears.

Nayun pursed her lips then. She wanted to sleep, not watch her friend cry. Why did she have to bring up the subject in the first place? What came next was quick, something the blonde didn't expect - but it always was the case when Nayun brought lips to the other girls own. The kiss itself would only last a few seconds before Nayun leaned back and moved to lay herself against the bed. Turning as she did so that her back now faced Dawn. "Don't dwell on it." and after a pause. "Merry Christmas.. I'm going to sleep."

She expected the girl to do as she said. Don't dwell on it. But instead she'd hear her rise from the bed and those soft, yet hurried footsteps; the sound of that door opening and soon closing coming next.. then, finally, silence. Nayun was alone, and in utter confusion.

Alone to her thoughts.

"Hey.. Don't give up on yourself. Don't you hear the word on the street? They say`` Even if Nayun only has one arm, she'll keep swinging her sword!`` "

"It's okay.. I know it hurts, but I'm here. You'll get through this, alright? Trust me."

"Don't look at him! Look at me! See this smile? Focus on it! Just think of the ice cream we're going to get after this is all over!"

I'll keep you my dirty little secret.

".. Mud?" Next came that long, exacerbated sigh. The dark haired Nayun found herself face to face with the magnified lenses of the goggle wearing Dawn. Nayun could make a note of how strange those blue eyes looked from her end, they way Dawns lids closed ever so slightly to show that she was indeed annoyed with the lack of perfect upkeep. This displayed by the fact that mud had been found within the joints of that false mechanical arm. The next sound that came wouldn't be the girls voice, but the scraping of that instrument running along metal to scrape off whatever mud it could lift. ".. Really, how many times do I have to tell you.." There was another sigh. Nayun closed her eyes, turned her head against its resting place against that pillow, and opened them once more. ".. It's not some toy, Nayun.. this is your arm now, you need to take care of it."

"... Isn't that why I have you and your father?" There was a jolt of pain then. Nayun could feel it running through the nerves of her shoulder. Her body seized up and she grit her teeth. She'd turn her head then, and Dawns waiting eyes took in the sight of her own. "That's why you need to take care of it.. It's not just your arm, Nayun.. it's my arm -- it's my fathers arm.. We're all here to help you, so you need to help us as well.. and if it screwed up because you feel like playing in the mud? It'll look bad on all of us." Clank, clank. That working knife came to tap down against metal. "Up - Keep." Spoken slow, just to make sure the black haired girl understood completely. Nayun could tell she was annoyed. The way she set her jaw, the way her lips twitched ever so lightly. There was no need to continue this conversation - she had lost. Her dark red eyes fell closed again while she spoke out. ".. I apologize."

"Hardened mud in the joints of your fingers could cause problems with your sword play too.. Jeez." The blonde shook her head before dipping it to focus on her work. Nayun could see the truth in that. Dawn was indeed right. She thought a simple shower would do away with the mud, but she didn't take enough care to focus on the mechanical arm. A quick shower saved time.. but a thorough one, it seemed, could save her life.

There would be silence between them. Seconds turning into minutes.. but only eight would pass before the sound of a voice filled the room. "Cheesecake." The taller girl spoke. Nayun looked to her with a stare. "My birthday cake. It'll be cheesecake. It's the best, you've had some - right?" Those magnified eyes peering over to her friend in question. ".. Yes." -- "So you like it?" Nayun watched dawns lips curl in amusement. ".. I do not dislike it." Lips that then curled into a frown. ".. Can't you just say you like or not like something? Saying `` I do not dislike it `` is so.. Um.." She tried her best to think up the word for it. ".. It's just not right!" There came that smile again. One that caused Nayun to mimic it with her own small one. Dawn was smiling, she should do the same. It was only proper, even if Nayun wore it as a mask.

"Yes. I like cheesecake." Nayun said. "See? Doesn't that sound better?" and Dawn chimed in return. It could possibly sound better, but Nayun couldn't tell the difference between saying that and I do not dislike it. But, if it made Dawn happy, she would not question it. "I'm still trying to pick a restaurant.. There's so many yummy places, I just don't know which one to choose!" Just talking about it seemed to make Dawn happy. Nayun wouldn't speak, she'd instead watch and listen as the girl continued on. "Mother said I need to choose soon." Dawn paused to pull up those goggles - placing them now against her forehead. "I'm thinking.. Maybe the Dragon House? How's that sound?"

I do not dislike it.

That thought came to Nayuns mind. But she would instead say; ".. It sounds nice." Dawn seemed rather amused by this and nodded her head in agreement. "Then the Dragon House it is! I'll tell Mother first thing in the morning!" Nayun would listen as the blonde giggled out. Should she do the same? Her lips pulled back and there was a moment she thought of feigning a laugh, but she instead squeezed her lips closed. "Oh. You can move your arm now." Dawn said a bit forgetfully. The cleaning of all that dried mud had been finished for a few minutes now.

Nayun drew her arm away from the small table and brought it above her head. Fingers flexed, wrist rotated. She'd bend the hand back and with a light click, that hidden blade slid forth in a blur of steel. Fingers flexed once more, and it would retract; everything seemed to be in order. Her right arm pressed to the bed then so that she could slowly push herself up in to a sitting position. Nayun looked to her friend, who was currently busy with putting her tools away.. then looked to the palm of her mechanical hand.

Dawn jumped. The feeling of that palm coming down to pat against the top of her head felt rather foreign to her. She quickly turned in surprise and peered at the now standing girl behind her. ".. What's up?" She said in a somewhat confused tone. It wasn't like she ever felt a show of affection like that, but never from Nayun. The dark haired girl stood there in silence -- that awkward feeling filling the room.. but she would finally speak. ".. Good.." Her lips having almost taken on the shape and speaking an F.. but what finally came would be: ".. Good job."

Dawn couldn't help but purse her lips in question, but even then they wouldn't stay like that for long. A bright smile instead found the features of the young girls face. ".. No problem. It's what I'm here for!"

"Good fight."

Nayun still felt that hint of a ghostly palm pressing to the top of her head.. and in all honesty? She didn't mind it. It felt..

Nice.

Mimicking others to fool others.. not to just fool -- but to make them happy.
Is something like that truly wrong?

I'm glad.. I felt her flames.

"Oooooh.."

A bright light illuminated the features of the blondes face, and then dimmed once more.

"Ahhh.."

The light then returned. Her blue eyes kept locked onto the figure before her. There swayed Nayun, her normal morning exercises now having a more fiery passion to it. Her fist thrusting out in front of her, specks of sweat following from forehead while black locks of hair jolted forward, then fell back to rest against her shoulders. Not only that -- but the explosion of magically created fire that rocketed from her closed fist. The stream of ember flowing out in a straight line of six feet before disappearing in the thin air.. only to reappear once more from the girls heel as she spun herself about with a risen leg, only to send it following through in a heel drop toward the ground.

The flames continued. Kicks, punches, even from elbows and knees. To the blonde that watched, what could be seen as an act of brutal fighting only looked to her like a fire dancer on stage. The chiming of ooohs and ahhhs came to a close as Nayun slid her lead foot back and moved out of her fighting stance; changing it to one of at ease. Her hands rose up with a taken breath, and then lowered once more while lips curled into a small little o to release it. ".. I do not mind you watching, but shouldn't you dress yourself?" The dark haired girl finally spoke while turning to her friend. Dawn, now self conscious to the fact that she was still in her pajamas, rose up a hand and waved it at the girl. "It's fine! Father said I'm officially-" This said in the most high and mighty way she could. "-off duty! All I'm supposed to do today is relax and be happy." Flashing that bright smile of hers - one that Nayun returned with less enthusiasm. ".. I see." Nayun replied along with a nod. "It is your birthday, after all.." The word itself caused Dawns smile to turn into more of a grin. "Yup! So.." Dawn, who had been sitting on the small porch in front of her house, tapped fingers against risen knees. "Where's my gift?"

Nayun pulled the towel that she had been using to wipe her face away, so that red eyes could look to Dawn in a stare. ".. Isn't it proper to wait till dinner?" The blonde only began to pout at this. Dawn crossed arms over her knees and pressed her chin to them. "No fair." With a sigh. "It can be seen that way.." Nayun said upon stepping closer. Her right hand moving to press a slow palm to the top of the girls head in a soft pat. Something Dawn wouldn't shy away from. "I will make us breakfast." Said the shorter girl. Her hand lifting away from that blondes head. "What would you like?" Dawn would be forced then to gather herself and stand - as she knew Nayun wouldn't wait at the door for her answer. Turning, she'd followed the other girl inside. "Pancakes, please."

"With eggs. You need the protein." Nayun corrected her. "Fiiine.. with eggs." Dawns footsteps sounded out, a little more hurried than her friends. She'd soon come up beside Nayun and give a bump of her arm to her shoulder. This caused Nayuns next step to be one with a slight stagger to it. ".. Why?" Nayun spoke with a perked brow. "Because. You're you." The taller girl responded - along with a peek of her tongue sticking through her lips. Nayun would have tried to argue against it, but Dawn put a little spring in her step and dashed for the kitchen. "Hurry up!" Nayun stood there. Still as a statue. Her mind trying its best to figure out what had just happened.. but, she'd finally blink.. and after that blink? She'd run after her.

The key. The one that represented the Keeper of Fire. It bounced about her neck with each quick step.

Noise Pollution: Welcome your New Neighbor

I don't like being alone..

Maybe that was why the lava that flowed about the tower quaked to the fury of the music that played within those magma held walls. Thump, thump, thump, thump -- wild animals, who might of dared to draw close to the volcano, thought different now and kept well away. The vibration of the music itself could be felt far off in the distance as well, enough to cause maybe the smallest bit of annoyance to the other patrons of the island.. Though inside? Annoyance wasn't the word that would be on anyone's mind.

"DO IT AGAIN!"

Adennians. Ever since Nayun took the tower, it was like a parade with the way people had swept the isle. If only there was a tollbooth, the Duels of Magic could make quite a bit of money. Women and men flocked through the portal. Early - Late. it didn't matter to them. They all had the same destination: The Tower of Fire. Damage had been kept to a minimum on the isle, except for the Fire Tower itself. It wasn't strange to see something thrown from the windows of the tower every now and then; along with a few heads popping out after to watch as whatever was thrown be totally destroyed once it met the lava below.

Among the dancing bodies. Among the drinking, the fighting, the utter chaos, there sat Nayun. Sitting in a slouched sort of way atop her chair. Her legs slightly spread in a somewhat unlady like way; all while tired eyes kept themselves focused on the activities.. or so it seemed, her mind had been far away from the scene that played about all around her.

What do I do next..

Her fingers idly tapped against the handle of her blade.

Which one do I go after..

"DO IT AGAIN!"

It was called out once more. Nayun broke away from her trance. Her red eyes peering up at the ceiling to watch that large barrel of wine make its arc. Do it again, they asked of her. Her head slowly bent to the right in a tilt.. and then she rose her hand and gave a small jerk. An explosion of fire followed. Liquid, along with the remains of the barrel itself, fell to the party goers below. The roar of the explosion was easily drowned out by the laughter and cheers that followed. The crowd relished in the feeling of the wine raining down onto their heated skin. Many continued to dance, but a few thought different and began to fight once more. Cheering turned to chanting. The two women wrestling and slamming fists to one another being their focal point. They cried for more damage, they wanted to see pain, they wanted to see blood.

It just wasn't an Adenna party unless someone was unconscious and left bleeding on the floor.

Nayuns chin pressed to open palm. Those thin digits curling to softly caress against her cheek. She looked to the window and peered out at the rising smoke. With all this action - only one thought came to mind.

How boring..

Duels of Rhy'Din: *Fin

It started with..

Hello.

.. and it ended with just that.

The Liltu District of Adenna. Nayun staggered from the tower portal and met boot with cobblestone streets. That arcane glow that wisped about the district causing haunting a purple glow to dance along her form. ".. Nn...!" It was startling. She could still hear that hello.. Over, over, and over. Repeating within her mind as simply a hint of what she first heard. Nayuns slanted eyes squeezed shut; tears forced from lids and slid down her cheek. A breath caught within her throat, causing the girl to choke and gasp out.

A simple touch was all it took to set her off. Echoing voice in her mind.. her sanctuary; enough to cause emotions to flood free. She felt fear. Absolute terror. Something like that.. that opal -- it should not be touched by people! Nayuns eyes shot open then. It becoming easier and easier to breath the more steps she took. ".. Nnk.." The girls teeth gritting. Dark hair rising from her shoulders with a sudden shake of her head. Push it from your mind.. don't think about it.. But no, she strived for that. She tried her best to gain that opal in challenge -- and here she was, running from it..

Live today... Fight tomorrow

Her mothers voice repeated in her head -- along with that calm hello Moonberyl had offered.

Live today... Fight tomorrow

"You there! Girl!" A wild voice met her ears. Nayun rose her sights and peered to the Adennian before her. Strong, a fire in her eye.. an obvious ruffian. There was reasons why younger girls do not dare walk alone in the dark. The chanced were high that you might lose the only way to gain the ascension of Siovanui; your virginity.. by force. Or -- to be beaten by those who had lose their own way long before. The dragon emblem along the taller woman's shoulder made it know.. She was of the gang who simply calls themselves one word: Dragons. Instead of sweeping the streets for those who could still become what they could not, like the beautiful Atae.. they instead curse those who could achieve what had been stolen from them.

".. C'mere.." The twinkle in her eye. The way she grinned. It had Nayun instantly go on the attack. The girls boots striking the cobblestone ground with such force. Like thunder breaking across the air. A loud, unholy sort of scream left her lips. The woman didn't know what to think of it. Battle, it's what those of Adenna live for.. but this was unlike what she had seen before. Wild. Unhinged. Nayuns shoulder pressed roughly into the woman's chest.. the feeling of those ribs caving in, the loss of breath from the woman's lips as she staggered back. Nayun wouldn't let up. Her mind was gone. Everything was red. Her body simply reacted in the way it was trained.

To kill.

HOW CAN YOU SURVIVE IF YOU CAN'T EVEN DEFEND YOURSELF?!

Felipe. Her mother. Streaked across her thoughts.
The image of her fists striking in rage.
The feeling of each of those blows inflicting pain to her own small body.

A dog shouldn't eat scraps from its master.. If you need food -- if you want food.. Be like a dog and hunt.

That shadowing foot inching closer. Erika.. her father.
Clouding her vision in that push to send her begging body away.

Hello.

Hello.

Hello.

Hello.

Hello.

Hello.

Hello.

Hello!

"UWAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!" Crack. Nayuns forehead descending upon the bleeding and broken face of the woman she straddled over. Over, and over. Blood spurting out with each blow, causing her face to grow more and more red with every forceful drop of her forehead. Nayuns chest rising and falling in erratic breaths as air seeped through and pushed from clenched teeth. Her body went down once more, one final thrashing to the face even the woman's mother could no longer recognize. There she stayed, her forehead grinding against fractured forehead. Breath sucked in. Her lips parting so that panting breath could follow. ".. Haaa.. Haaaa..." Eyes wide. Not willing to shield her sights from the scene of her own inflicted violence "GRAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!"

.. and she'd scream. Even as the bells of the guard rang in the distance. She'd scream.

Rhy'Din State of Mind
"These streets will make you feel brand new. Big lights will inspire you."

Nayuns body shot up with a jolt. Her vision, first having taken in the blurry image of an unfamiliar ceiling, now fell to blanket covered legs. Her chest heaved, her warm breath tickled against parted lips with each and every heated pant. ".. Ha.... haa..." Where am I.; was the thought that came to mind. A thought that Nayun couldn't help but push aside with the pulsing feeling of pain that throbbed from her face. Not only that, but the sudden feeling of dizziness that took over her body. Stomach churned while eyes fluttered. She felt like she could vomit in that instant, but nothing came. Her body wavered. The dark haired girl sought to catch herself with both palms, but her weight shifted to the left. Her body came crashing down lightly onto the bed; upper form turned half way. The realization came then -- her false arm had been gone.

Yes. It was damaged.

Thoughts of that night came to her head. Flashes of memory that came to only one conclusion.
The image of that blood gurgling crushed face.
The one that she had created.

Hello. -- MoonBeryl

The thought of that voice alone made her flinch.

Vision became clearer as the seconds passed. The less movement, the clearer the room became to her. The hard wood floor.. she knew this floor, it was Master Raines house. The sounds of rain pitter pattering against the roof above. Yes -- this was Master Raines residence. At the outskirts of the city, where the isles did not cast their shadows. By the curling river where the two of them sat only months ago; before the rainy season began. Nayun could still taste the sake on her lips when she thought back on it. "Why." The girls monotone voice rang true, yet would remain unanswered. A question to ones self as to why she was here.. Why here of all places?

It was then that red eyes finally caught sight of the chair at the opposite of the room. No, not only the chair; but the one who sat within it. That steady breathing.. the way each breath cast itself against blond strands of hair; pushing them in such a way to cause them to rise and fall so close to those lips. Dawn. No longer did Nayun wonder why she, herself, was here.. the question change; why was Dawn here? She slept so peacefully. All while Nayun fought just to keep her eyes from fluttering closed at the feeling of dizziness. When it struck, she was forced to still herself. Waiting for it to -- no, wishing it would pass.

Nayuns eyes closed once more. Those visions of that woman returning. All while she tried her best to steady her breathing. The visions vanishing from her sights when eyelids opened once more. Dawn returned. All was right in the world. But if all was right in the world - then she needed to move. Nayuns right arm reached for the blanket that covered her lower form. With a toss, she'd cast it away from her body. Her hand then pressing to the bed itself to do the work of two. Nayun rose. Even with that feeling of dizziness returning. She'd rise.

Her legs felt like dead weight for now; and looked to play the part when they simply fell over the side of the bed. Feet dangled half an inch away from the ground and even as she flexed and curled those toes -- they would not touch. It was then that Nayun realized that Dawn hadn't been the only presence within the room. Laying there, on the hard floor with only a pillow and heavy blanket to give her comfort; it was Master Raines daughter. The girl Nayun had been tasked with training.

Blonde. Tanned skin that had lost some of its color with the winter and rainy seasons, but would flourish once more when the summer returned. Soft spoken. She listened and followed instruction well and spoke when needed. Though she had her mother in her. That flare for competition and a never say die attitude. She will become a great swords woman, a great Adenna warrior.. and Nayun should feel honored that she could pass the knowledge of the girls mother to her. It was why, when the dark haired girl pushed from the bed, that she carefully took a long stride to step past sleeping child.

Head beating like crazy.. the dizziness returned. If she hadn't had that wall a few steps forward -- she might have collapsed to the ground. Her armless left would instead press against the hard wood and keep her propped up. All while Nayun breathed heavily. Palm found wall to add that needed pressure. Nayuns body was forced away; forced to stand back on its own two feet. It would only take a three steps for her to reach what she had spotted before anything else once her vision became clear.

Her sword.

Exiting the room proved easier than expected. Though the constant throbbing from her forehead was rather distracting. Not only that, but the shaking vision before her eyes couldn't be any better. Adennian steel slid free and saya was left to rest within the hall as she continued down it. Step, by step, by step. She could see the living room in the distance, but paid it little to no interest as the vision of the front door was all that mattered to her.

What compelled her to move. To go against her bodies wishes. It was hard to explain. It was as if the rain spoke to her -- urging her to come to it. it was why she opened and slipped through the doorway that had been offered. Nayuns hand gently tugged back, closing the door behind her with the faintest of clicks. There it was.. the steady beat of rain that cast from the clouded sky from above. Bare feet pushed against aged wood. They led her from the porch and right into the cold blanket of rain.

Train. Swing your sword. Train. Swing your sword. It is all you are.

She repeated within her mind. There she stood -- within the rain. The way the liquid splashed against the steel of her katana as right arm rose up and held the weapon out from herself. Then, with a twist of her wrist, the razor sharp edge pointed to the muddy ground. She could envision her arm.. her real arm. That limb that could only be called a phantom of the past now. She could see it grasping the hilt of that sword below her right. That vision alone was all she needed to raise that sword up above her head. Bare foot stepped forward, mud seeping between toes and splashing about; the same second as her blade slashed down -- cutting easily through the rain. Leg pulled back, her stance reset, that blade held at ready once more.. Then she'd step yet again; that sword following right along like clockwork.

Swing your sword. The more you do so, the lighter it becomes.

Again. Again. Again. This continued till she felt something grabbing her from behind. Arms not meant to hold a weapon wrapping at her chest. They pulled her close, putting a halt to her downswing in an instant. It was then that she yelled at the top of her lungs. "NO!" Twisting. Her blade wielding arm crashed into the figure who dared touch her from behind. Who dared sneak up on her while she was so focused.. Who dared to lay there in the mud with a look of pained sorrow on her face.. a look Nayun could easily register because she had seen it many times before.

It was Dawn.

"Why..?! Can't you just stop! You've done so much already! Why can't you just rest!"

Nayun couldn't see the tears. The rain made sure of that. But that crying face -- even without the tears, she knew.

"Why are you trying so hard?! WHY?!"

Then, with another splash of mud.. Katana fell from unclenched fingers to meet with the water soaked ground.

I want to be strong.

I don't care about what your tower could give me, Miss Rachael.. I only want the chance to challenge you. What comes after will come after. It is of no concern to me right now.

You speak of power, yet you show none, Old Man.

Cowardice. That is all this sport is.

I would like to fight you outside of these rings, Miss Candy.

Victory or defeat. None matter -- the fight is all.

A loss is a stepping stone. Learn from it.

Strength.

The Sun Rises

"Be careful.." Dawn spoke. Her words full of worry. All this while the tall blonde helped Nayun to the bed. They had returned to the The Sunrise Overlook only minutes ago; the feeling of dampness held against their clothing still fresh from the outside rain. Nayun, still without her mechanical arm, settled down upon the bed lightly. ".. I am fine, you have no need to worry." The dark haired girl said. This only brought more worry to Dawn, something that was written all over her features. ".. Don't say that." Nayun could have countered - but instead chose the act of silence to speak for itself.

Light steps brought Dawn away from the bed. ".. Let's find you some dry clothes." she said -- and was once more met with silence. Nayun was making things difficult, but in a way she wasn't. This was simply how the girl was.. and even Dawn knew this. If she had nothing to say; it just meant she had nothing to say. The sound that came from Nayun instead, would be the sound of her body moving to rest against the large comforter spread across the bed. Silence fell over the room. Dawn looking through drawers to find her friend something to wear, and Nayun simply laying there - watching her.

This silence would be shattered when a knock came to the door.

"Nayun?" The voice from behind spoke. Both of the girls within the room took notice instantly. Dawn turned to face the door while Nayun forced herself to sit upright on top of the bed. There was a reason for this, and the reason came stepping through the door not even a second later. It was the Siovanui: Seirichi.

"Hey." Was all Seirichi could muster. Her gray eyes peering about the room, as if unwilling to look over to the girl sitting on the bed. Seirichis vision finally fell upon Dawn. All she needed to do was jerk her head back to give the younger girl an order: leave. There was no reason to speak it. Dawn, though lingering for only a moment to look to Nayun, stepped past the Siovanui with a light bow of her head. The door was then closed behind her -- leaving the two Adennians together.

"How're you feeling?" Seirichi said. The weight of the bed sinking gently under her form as she sat herself beside the only other person in the room. Nayun didn't answer at first. Her red eyes had locked themselves to the vision of woman beside her instead. Then, after a blink, she spoke. "I am fine.." Her monotone voice rang true. Holding no emotion, no tells to how she truly felt. Even the Siovanui could not fully understand. At times like this, Seirichi could feel jealous of Havelast.. how he was able to read the simplest of ticks from Nayon -- yet she, a Siovanui of Adenna, was unable to gauge how both sisters truly felt at any given time.

"Fine enough to return to Rhy'Din? Your second match in that tournament should be coming soon." Seirichi pressed. Nayun stared. There was no change. Twenty eight seconds had passed before the girls lips parted so that she could make words. "No." No. A simple no. Seirichi looked away and stared across the room. The blank room that held only what was deemed `` needed `` by Nayun. Along with the bed she sat on.. the repainted walls that now were white, the body-sized mirror, the weights.. equipment that could be used to make a body stronger -- yet the room lacked what most girls had. There was a large difference between herself and the girl she sat next to.

I believe she will take you one day, though it is some time away.
That man. Kruger had said. The scary realization of his words was this: Seirichi knew that if Nayun ever gained the power of Siovanui.. those words would be very true. Not only for herself, but possibly even her mother as well. But is that not what one should hope for? That the next generation will continue to grow stronger and stronger -- surpassing the old.

Nayun looked to this silence as rather awkward. Seirichi had not been speaking. Nayun had no need to speak. Should she say something? Continue on the conversation? Did she need to explain herself? The Siovanui had not told her to -- so there should be no reason for her to speak of it. Yet.. why did she not speak? Nayuns body shifted lightly, as if showing discomfort. The way her head turned away from Seirichi so that she could look in the same direction the older woman had been. This was something Seirichi caught -- and it was something she understood. "Then that's it? You're done?"

It was the opening Nayun needed to speak once more. "Yes. There is no point." The girl paused. Her face once more turning to peer up at the woman who said beside her. "I have gained titles in each of their sports. I have no need to become Overlord, Archmage, or Diamond. They are titles that hold no benefit to me. The Madness tournament offers no gain." Why become a baron when you've already held the title once already? That was Nayuns thought process. "I've done enough." Why..?! Can't you just stop! You've done so much already! Why can't you just rest!: Nayun could still hear those words. It matched well with the ones she had just spoken.

Seirichi smirked at this. "So.. the reward isn't worth the risk, huh? I guess that makes two Adennians leaving the tournament. Our hopes rest on Aurast. It sounds hilarious to even speak those words." It sounded hilarious, yet Seirichi wasn't laughing. All that came was a sudden snort and a shake of her head. "Not that it matters.. If you of all people can see that there is no point, then I guess it's true. If only they could have offered money as a prize." That was what gained laughter from the Siovanui. "Then I'd see reason to join." Seirichi turned to peer at the silent Nayun. "So. How do you feel?" Nayun looked to this question with slight confusion. "How do I feel?" She countered. Seirichi shook her head at the stall tactic.

"Answer." Seirichi said. The dark haired girl blinked those red eyes softly. "My forehead still pains me." Seirichi shook her head. "No. Not that. How do you feel about this situation? Rhy'Din. The duels. If you're through with them, you're through.. but you should hold no regrets." Nayun sat there in a stilled silence.. then parted her lips.

"I have no regrets. The path I've chosen is the right one. Meaningless titles are nothing compared to my true goal."

Seirichi smiled at this and peered up at the ceiling. "and what is your true goal?"

"To become strong. To protect those who cannot protect themselves. To show the children of tomorrow how to swing their swords."

The weight upon the bed beside Nayun had lifted. Seirichi rose and turned to the girl. Her gray eyes peering down while shadow overtook the younger one. ".. and what if you venture to Rhy'Din? What if others do not share your views? What if they believe you've done wrong and tarnished the honor of the rings? That the titles you speak negatively of mean something?" Nayun looked to the woman with no change. There was no delay. Her voice came with words she truly felt. "I will see them as fools who place personal gain above all else."

A shadow came closer then. Nayun watched as the image of Seirichis hand came descended upon her. She knew it was coming.. there was no need to shy away or feel discomfort. The feeling of its warmth pressing to the top of her head. How those fingers gently moved about to ruffle softly against black hair. "It looks like I'm the one sweeping the streets now.." Nayun drew her sights along the woman's arm as Seirichi spoke; following right up to the vision of the Siovanuis face. "For who..?" Nayun replied.

"For you."

A sheath for a sword

The gentle sounds of snipping scissors met with ears that so carefully listened for them. Long hair. Once a sign of femininity. A sign that Nayun wore proudly. The reason she collected hairpins. An art form in its own right. Something that many spoke of during those rare occurrences that she donned gown and shed the title of warrior to instead wear the mask of noble lady; to dance the night away with other high ranking members of Adenna society. It no longer held such sway with the girl. Snip by steady snip did those strands of hair split and scatter about hardwood floor. Nayun simply kept her eyes closed and listened. Listening and giving attention where it was due. As with each snippet of hair fell, so did a piece of something that could of been once called childhood.

No longer a girl. A woman at fifteen years of age. That was what Nayun had become. The moment she returned to Adenna after the execution of Maria. A woman. The title was one she did not let others forget if they dared utter the phrase child. "I am a woman. You will show me proper respect." she would say. A woman who brought justice to those who had been deemed unneeded in this world. A woman who's purpose is to hold her sword strong. No, not only that - but to be the blade itself. To be swung in the name of Adenna. In the name of all that was right and true in this world.

The snippets became sparse between one another as the seconds passed. Nayun made note of this and opened red eyes to peer at the mirror that stood opposite of her. The vision of the blonde haired Dawn now visible. The option of asking what was wrong came to mind, yet it was a question Nayun felt no need to asking. Why ask when the other would simply tell her if need be. She had been almost ready to close her eyes - but words broke the silence that had been once only cut by the sounds of scissors. "You're leaving again, aren't you..?" Dawn spoke. The sound of worry filling her voice. A sound Nayun disliked hearing. Not because it showed Dawn's unease. No, it was because she had to deal with it. The option of silence had been regarded once more - but even Nayun knew it would prove to be useless in the end. "Yes." So she spoke. One simple word. Enough to carry on the conversation if the blonde saw fit to do so.

Instead came the sound of those scissors. It allowed Nayun to go back to her task of counting away each that had been taken. Nayun did not know why she did this. It wasn't something she could explain. It would be easier to say that it was something she always did. Counting, sorting, making notes. After another snip had been counted, Dawns voice interrupted her thoughts once more. ".. Where are you going?" Another question. Why was she asking questions. You're not supposed to ask useless questions. You simply do as you are told and that was it. The letter came. The orders had been given. Nayun had no need to ask questions other than where, when, and who. Dawn had no right or reason to ask her any of these. She had no place in the order of things.

"Dawn." Nayun began. Her eyes looking to the mirror once more. Eyes that caught Dawns staring directly at her own. Her words chose after thought. Those who speak of their deeds when it came to assassination were seen as useless fools with flapping lips. With flapping lips came a tongue that could be easily plucked and silenced if need be. Those who speak of killing were no better than thieves and mercenaries. An assassin knew better. An assassin of Adenna knew better. "I am leaving on an errand for my sister, the Queen." The title added in attempt to ease Dawns thoughts. Nayun closed her eyes as she continued. "A shipment of tea. A simple task. I will be gone no longer than a week." Words a child like Karaichi would understand and see as the truth. Words that a girl of fifteen such as Dawn would take as an uneasy, yet necessary lie. A lie that gave false hope to the heart, even though doubt still plagued the mind.

".. If it's just a shipment of tea.. why can't she send another? I mean.. You've only recovered." Nayun listened to Dawns voice. Then felt the weight of her palms pressing against her shoulders. Both metal and flesh. Why must she make things so difficult. It was the thought that came to Nayuns mind. She began to rise from the stool then. A rise that caused Dawn to step away, if only by one step. Those red eyes looked to the mirror as she began to turn her head lightly left, then right. An inspection of her hair. There were a few places that needed finished trimming, but it was well enough for now. "Nayun." The voice came again. Nayun turned and answered it in a way that had swayed the girls thoughts those few times before; with her lips pressing to the blondes own.

But Dawn reeled back from it before it could even happen. The narrowing of her eyes showing anger. ".. You're not using that trick again.. I know where you got it from." she said. Nayun stood there in silence. Unsure of what to do next. Should she try again? No. There was no point. ".. You don't kiss people like that.. not just to shut them up..!" Dawn continued. Her shoulder rising, as did her arm. Nayun could read bodies enough to know that something would be coming next. It did - in the form of a slap. "I don't want to see you hurt! Why can't you just.. Just..!" Emotion was flowing from the girl. Yet Nayun had a hard time understanding why. Shouldn't Dawn be overjoyed that she was leaving to do a task for the Queen? Even if it was something as small as fetching tea in the lie of a story that had been spoken for her.

"You're soft." Nayun finally said. Which caused a flash of shock to appear over Dawns once angry features. "What do you mean..?!" Dawn took a sudden step forward. Is she going to slap me again? Nayun thought. "You're only a child. You will never see the glory of battle. The only blade you will ever hold is one that you create for a warrior." Nayun spoke those words even as Dawn balled her fists and set her sights the floor. "You created this arm. You've given me a weapon to use." That arm rose then. Metallic fingers flexing. "Yet you want to hold me back. I am leaving on orders of the Queen. I can not say no and hide away because you want me to be something I am not." That same metal hand reached out and pressed to Dawns chin. Forcing it to rise, along with her face, so the two could look at one another. It was something Nayun had seen Dyarhk do with the Siovanui Seirichi many times during heated arguments. "I am a weapon. A weapon will return to its sheath when it is through. You are my sheath." Dawn stared in silence as she took in those words. Nayuns hand retreated and her body turned. She settled back upon that stool and waited..

.. and waited.

Till that hand brushed against her hair.. and the sounds of snipping scissors returned. The words she had chosen seemed to have worked. Nayun closed her eyes and resumed counting in her thoughts. "You'll come back.. with tea.. You promise?" Dawn spoke softly. "Yes." It was all Nayun needed to say.

Night had come without any other questions about why she would be leaving. Dawn had tried her hardest to stay up as long as she could, but in the end.. sleep takes everyone. Nayun was left to stare up at the ceiling while the blonde breathed steadily in calm rest beside her. A weapon will return to its sheath when it is through. She had no thoughts of where she had gotten the line from -- though it meant little. The point had been gotten across and Dawn had no reason to continue the one sided argument. Words, it seemed, struck better than what once could be obtained by her lips alone.

Strange. Nayun thought. At times, dealing with Dawn was more complicated than most tasks she had ever taken on. It was annoying. Bothersome. But why did she continue? Was it because of the feeling of ease that came to her when she saw the girls smiling face? It brought other thoughts to mind. What was this? Was this what Miss Seirichi felt for Miss Corea? No, it wasn't the same. Nayun could never see herself doing such things with Dawn. Friendship -- that was all this was. It was all Nayun cared for it to be. The sound of gentle shifting came as she turned her head to the right. The ceiling was no longer what she stared at. The sleeping face of Dawn had taken its place.

You're soft. She had told her.. but was it really an insult?
Nayun wished the girl she looked upon would stay soft - forever.

The cold snow of progress

"I never thought it would be a child.."

How frail he looked outside of his military garb. No medals, no pendants, no tassels. He looked to strong before. Could it have been the lighting? The young, strong men that stood before him with wild ambitions for the future that he had spoken of. Ready to give their lives to pursue the dreams he envisioned. Their thunderous cries for freedom and the end of oppressive tyranny. Could it have been them? It did not matter. Not within this bedchamber. With the light of a flickering candle illuminating the room. He looked the fool. A decrepit old man that was well past his prime. That was exactly what Nayun saw.. and who she trained her gun upon.

She had no reason to speak. The orders that she had been given were to kill the man. A blade would not do in this task, so she must use a weapon that felt strange in her grasp. Strange, yet not strange enough for her to be useless at wielding. Time on the range before the train ride had helped her hone some skill, yet she was still an amateur. Yet even an amateur could kill another with a weapon like this.. It really was the cowards tool. A foot step led her closer. A footstep that caused a soft tapping sound to echo through the quiet room. The closer she stepped, the bigger the chance of success. Should she step all the way? Press the weapon to his skull and fire? It seemed the best option. Yet.. the man did not look scared. That in itself was puzzling.

Maybe he simply accepted his fate.

"I thank you." He said. This was something far different from accepting the inevitable. Why was he thanking her? Shouldn't he be cursing her name? Yelling, screaming, calling for his guards. Yet he did nothing of the sort. He only stood there. A frail old man, sucking in a breath as he looked to the ceiling. "I knew it would end like this.." Why must he talk? Nayun wondered. She kept herself still. This curiosity alone could of been the reason why she had not pulled the trigger just yet. "I have two sons you see.. two great sons. They will continue on. Now, we are seen as rebels.. but in the future - heroes.. With my death, they will have all they need to spark the fire in the spirits of young men." His words met with Nayuns silence.

The old man stepped forward. Great General Frederick. His adoring followers called him. Or had called him, once her task was complete. It was he that stepped forward, and continued to step. Closer and closer. Nayun reset her grip and rose the weapon slightly to make up for the change. "Now. Pull the trigger and be on your way.. Know that with your bullet.. I will create a grand future for my people." Was this some sort of trickery? Confusing her to make her let down her guard? Then why did he stand there like a man waiting to die. His arms did not move to reach for the weapon. His legs did not brace and prepare for a burst of speed to possibly take her down.

"I see. Are you the one who requested the assassination?" Nayun finally spoke. Her words cutting through the passion of his own with cold, unyielding monotone. The old man closed his eyes and took in another breath. "Ah.. yes, I must confess that I did." There was truth in his tone. So. Assisted suicide. No, not only that.. but to create a scene that would spark outrage and anger within his followers. With just one life taken, many would change. "You should lay down." Nayun words came as a surprise to the old man. His bushy white brow rose in confusion. ".. Oh, oh yes.. I see." He gazed over to the bed. "It would look odd that I was shot like this." He chuckled. Though there was a small shake in it. So he was scared.. In the face of death, even a man like this could tremble.

Nayun followed behind. Making sure to keep her distance. She watched as the frail old man pulled away those heavy blankets and sat himself upon the bed. "I must apologize.. I did not think they would send someone so young." So young.. Child. He did not see her as a woman. Nayun had felt the need to correct him. But was there even a point to? Frederick had continued to apologize. They had been spoken more in whispers as he drew blankets over his now resting form. ".. They will think I was killed by a coward.. You are right, this is a better scene." She saw an attempt at a smile. Yet the old man could not muster even that. Nayun leveled the barrel and took aim. Those clouded blue eyes looked to her own reds. Yet where he had attempted to search for emotion -- there was none to give.

There was no final line from Nayun. Only the sound of a gunshot echoing throughout the manor.

The panic throughout the manor came almost instantly. The sound of shouting, yelling.. and even screams echoing about the small encampment seemed to herald the snowfall from above. Outside, in the blanket of snow, the coat dressed Nayun ran. Dressed within the winter wear of those aligning themselves to this group of rebels. While others ran for the manor, she moved in the opposite direction. Some seemed to do the same as her. Many yelling out, instructing to search. To find the one who could dared to kill their beloved leader. Anger fueled their search, allowing her to easily slip away undetected. Nayun stood within those cold, dark woods and looked back to the shimmering light in the distance. ".. Hm.." Her breath visible in the nights air. Fingers grasped onto the brim of her cap and gave it a gentle tug before she turned. She had a long, cold hike ahead of her.

...

"Ah. Yes, yes, yes.. Tea will fill mind, body, and soul with loving warmth. You listen to me now, girl. I know, I know." The shop-keeper chimed out in a sing-song voice. It was his attempt to bring a smile to the girls face as he rung her up at the counter. Yet, in the end it had been a failure. A momentary pout found his features, yet a smile only took its place a split second later. "Don't let the cold chill you to the bone, you hear? Come back any time..!" Except she wouldn't come back. Her time here was over.

Nayun looked to the small, ornate bag that could easily be held within her palm. Inside.. Tea. Rich, expensive tea. But even as she looked to it, she could still make out the image of the old man within the swirling lines that etched about the bag. Killing yourself for your cause.. Though you could no longer fight, General Frederick, your death will bring change to your organization. I do not care if it was right or wrong.. You died a hero in their eyes.. and that is all that matters. Nayun looked away from the bag. Those red eyes setting themselves to the window, and the vision of rolling hills of winter that shine through them.

...

"Tea." Back in Adenna. Nayun pressed the bag carefully into the younger girls waiting palms. Dawn looked to the bag, then to the girl. A smile creeping along her lips. "Did you get me anything else?!" She said in glee. It looked as if all the worry had left Dawn the moment she stepped through that window. It was replaced by happiness. Even more so now that she had given her the gift. Nayun stood beside the blown-glass fish tank that held their betta, Charlies. Giving the fish a few bites of food even though Dawn made sure to say. "I've already fed him today." Nayun was caught by surprise when the feeling of Dawns wrapping arms met her form. She tensed, her first reaction was to fling the girl off her body. She might have done just that if words hadn't come along with it. "I'm glad you're back.."

Nayun took hold of those wrapped arms and peeled them away from her. Then, with a few steady steps, she brought distance between herself and the blonde haired girl. "I told you. I would return." Spoken in a matter of fact sort of way. As if there should of been no doubt to her return. The mattress of Dawns bed creaked as Nayun lowered herself to sit. "I know, I know.. I just.. you know, get worried.. That's all." Dawn said as she inched closer. "There's no need." Nayun replied. Watching as the girl continued on with her steps. Till she had gotten to the point of having to turn her head when Dawn settled herself down beside her. ".. Are you going to stay tonight?" She said. Nayun only paused for a moment before answering. "Yes. I planned on it. Is there a problem?" She watched as Dawn shook her head. "No, no.. None at all!" Then she was taken to the bed. It was quick. The blonde came swooping forward with outstretched arms. All Nayun could do was sit still as Dawns weight came to press against her. She was toppled over, and it was Dawn who now hovered above her.

At least until bare feet pressed to her stomach. Dawn was launched away with a quick rising push. She giggled as it happened, even after that loud grunt left her lips when she met the bed. Nayun was quick, when Dawn did open her eyes she would be face to face with the dark haired one. The shimmer of that wrist blade reflecting the lights of the room. Its position pressed lightly to the other girls throat seemed not to sway her in the slightest. No, she continued to breath at a normal pace while that smile never left her lips. "I yield.." She'd say. Nayun, ever the honorable fighter, retracted the blade and moved away. ".. and now.. I don't..!" Dawn giggled out. Her body slamming into Nayuns exposed side, causing the both of them to collapse onto the floor with a loud thump.

Laughter filled the room. Yet it only came from one of them. Dawn smiled down at Nayun as she pinned her to the floor. The thought of smiling back occurred to the darker haired one. Yes, it would be proper now.. So she would do just that. She smiled back. "I yield.."

You can't keep running away

"Turning your back on me was your first mistake. Saying no was the second. Will you go for a third? Choose your words carefully, Nayun. You forget your place." There was no way she could forget such a fact. Nima was the Ninth Lilith of Liltu -- a queen, as some would call it. The smaller woman turned about to allow one red eye to glimpse over a shoulder. ".. I have said my choice. I will not be going back." No wasn't a word the one known as Nima liked. Nayun could see it in the way the pale woman's lips curled while brows narrowed to cause the smallest bit of wrinkle to appear above her nose. No, this wasn't going to end well.

"I no longer ask. I order you." Asking was one thing. A favor that could easily be denied. An order was something completely different. This caused Nayun to tense up on the spot. "You will compete in that tournament. You forget, my young friend.. I am rather curious by nature.. I want to see what this `` Celestial Tower `` can do. All I require is for you to simply.." The witches hand began to circle about - as if she was finding it difficult to place her words. "Be my champion. Win.. and give me the reward." There was no longer a look of annoyance on Nimas face. It was instead replaced with a look of pleased smugness. As if she knew the younger girl could do nothing but accept the task that was placed before her.

"Understood." No other word could be said.

Hello
It came to mind. MoonBeryl.

Rhy'Din. Returning there to compete once more. Even for one tournament. It felt odd. Odd - Out of place - Wrong.

It was that thought, among many others, that kept Nayun up that night. "Dawn.." The name breaking whatever silence had been granted to the darkened room. A name that brought forth the sound of shifting sheets and finally the softer voice of the other girl. "What is it?" Dawn rubbed at her eyes. That sleepy haze trying its best to pull her back to the realm of dreams. "I've grown an inch." Nayun responded while drawing up her metal arm. "I need you to make the modifications tomorrow." This had Dawn frowning. She moved to lay her head back to the softness of a pillow. "You could of told me that in the morning.." This had the darker haired girl blinking. Those metal fingers flexed, then curled into a tight fist. ".. You are right.. I apologize." In which Dawn replied with a yawn followed by the words "It's fine. Go to sleep."

If only sleep could come easily.

Nayun turned red eyes to the sheathed katana that leaned peacefully against the wall opposite of the bed.

So.

Are you ready?

I just want to go home

"Really, Nayun." The white haired woman said with an exaggerated sigh. Jetting out her hip and placing hand upon it; Nima was not thrilled. There was a reason for this lack of satisfaction. Her champion had lost. There would be no challenge to the ArchMage of RhyDin. There would be no Celestial Tower. There would be no energy for her to siphon, manipulate, and use to create arcane wonders. "I ask of you a simple task. Win me this silly celestial tower." Disappointment was apparent in her voice. The way her body shifted and turned to place her back to the girl. Nima crossed arms loosely under her bust and sucked in a quick breath, all so she could sign out once more. "You are useless. Do you know this? Completely, utterly.. useless."

All Nayun could do was stand there. She had tried her best but her best wasn't good enough. The thought of throwing the tournament just to return home was never a thought to cross her mind. Yes - she would have liked to return to Adenna, but not without trying her hardest to serve the Lilith of Liltu. "I am useless.. I apologize." Nima turned then. Standing side-face so that the annoyed expression written all about her features could be seen by the girl when she faced her. "I already spoke of your uselessness, I do not need you repeating it to me." Those crossed arms dropped, then rose once more - this time to cross hands at the small of her back. Nima began to step here and there in a slow pace. "I give you the ability to use magic.. and you still have not mastered it. It is not only I who is disappointed.. Your sister will be as well once I speak with her. Ooh -- how I will speak with her." From the corner of her eye did Nima look. The expression on Nayuns face causing a sort of sick pleasure to be taken. ".. Nayun, do you fear what will happen?" Nayun turned her gaze to the floor. "I will take any punishment you find suitable, my Lilith.."

"Nima. Call me Nima."

Nayun no longer dipped her chin. "Nima.." It instead rose, as did her head so that she could look to the woman standing before her. ".. I do not understand." This had Nima pressing a curled knuckle to her lips. "Really.. did you really believe I was interested in that key? Liltu has no need for what RhyDin can offer. They have their forms of magic, and we have ours.. and I can only be bias to say that I do like ours far better. Ah, my own ego is out on display." Another giggle pressed against lip pressed knuckle. "Is it wrong of me to say that I only ordered you into this tournament to simply.. watch you? I do grow bored within this tower you see, a Lilith must find her own form of entertainment."

"I see..." Nayun replied, but found words quickly returned. "Yes, yes. You see. I do understand. You see. You see what? Oh." Nima snapped her fingers. "You see nothing. The only thing you see is the need to say `` I see `` because you cannot think of any other word to speak from those chapped lips of yours." Nayuns mind fell blank. Trying her best to think of what to say - but what came from those dry lips was only "I see." Words that once more caused Nima to laugh out. "Will you keep repeating those two words if I continue to press you? I do wonder how many times I can get you to say it." Aggravation rose within the smaller one. It became apparent with the way she clenched fists. Easily tell-tale with the way the those metal fingers of her right hand clanked ever so lightly. "Oh.. are you upset? Your place is to serve, Nayun. I thought you knew this.. How sad." Nayun was met with the sight of a mock pout.

".. My place is to serve the people of Adenna.." she said. Something that caused Nima to feign surprise. "Are you saying that I am not an Adennian? That I do not have the same blood flowing through me that beats within the very heart of Techichi?" Nayun was at a loss of words. All she could do was stare up at the white haired woman. ".. I.." The girl started, only to come face to face with Nima when she leaned in so suddenly. "Yes? Finish. Nima is waiting." Nayuns mouth opened and tried to form words, and they finally came after three seconds of silence. ".. I spoke out of place.. my Lilith.. Please, forgive me."

"Forgiveness? You seek forgiveness? From me of all people? Do you know what I do to those who speak such filth?" Nimas grin spread across her plush lips. "I skin them.. bit by bit, and place the skin onto my dolls. Oh.. how the thought of a doll created out of you gives me such joy." The witches palms met one another before her chest with a hearty clap. A clap that caused Nayuns body to twitch. ".. Do I scare you, child? Are you frightened?" The look of sinister glee changed to concern. "Oh my.. I should know better than to tease you. What would you sister say? My, I could cause quite the scandal.. Oh - yes.. She does not care, nor do you. Correct? What did you say before? You are not in.." Nima waited with a gesture of her hand to the girl. ".. I am not in my sisters shadow.. I am my own woman." Then after a pause. "My Lilith." Was then added.

"Then you will be your own woman and entertain me more." Nima turned away. Her hips sashaying left to right with each calm step. She then turned and sat herself down against the soft, silk sheets of her lavish bed. "RhyDin is hosting another tournament, yes? My dreadful sister feels the need to join one.. but there is another that requires more.. effort? Something that woman utterly lacks. You will join this Warlord Tournament as my champion." Nayun bowed her head. Already those teeth had found themselves grit against once another. Then she answered. ".. Is this an order, my Lilith..?"

"Yes." Nima smiled. "It is."

Archmage Tournament
( Connected with THIS )

Nayun took in a deep, shaken breath then. Pulled free from her trance as soon as Matt's final blow struck on Twilight Isle. She had been unable to venture there on her own -- but being the Keeper of Air had its perks it seemed. She had been willing to simply take her name out of the running, but an idea from Dawn of all people gave her the opportunity to compete.

Keeper of Air. Manipulation of Air. It shouldn't stop her from going into a trance and taking control of the air itself to make a `copy` of her for the tournament.

"Interesting.." Nayun spoke softly. Reflecting on the tournament.

Dawn sat beside her. Having watched the whole thing unfold within the large crystal ball that laid before them. Nayun looked her way and spotted a smile on Dawn's lips. It seemed forced, Nayun could tell that much, but she didn't comment upon it. She instead rose up and turned. Stepping away from the crystal ball and moving to stretch her form. Having been sitting Indian style in that trance for almost two hours now, she just needed to work out a few tense spots.

"Well.. There's always next time. You made it to the finals though." Dawn said from behind.

"Yes.. Next time."

A Warriors Spirit

"You've done well in your studies.. Perhaps you will be named a witch soon as well? The Desert Witch, perhaps?" The Eighth Lilith spoke with cool voice. Her lips curling to form into the most antagonistic of grins.

"No. There will be no need for such a name." Nayun, the now Queen of Settesh, said from her pillowed perch next to the Kings Sea. A winding river that cut across the desert in the form of a snake, and gave the people of the region their wealth and prosperity through trade. "My Father was keen on familiars.. I do not support her actions, but the technique is not something to be ignored." Nayun ran her fingers through the white fur of the small fox that sat on its haunches beside her.

".. A sweet tooth for apples?" Lilith inquired. Watching the fox nibble on a sliced piece of apple. After stepping closer, her robes bunching up and gathering about bent legs as she sat herself down beside the girl. "It appears you've grown fond of your new pet. Dawn may become jealous." The witch snickered.

"Dawn is no pet." Nayun spoke quickly. The aura about her becoming grim.

"I jest, I jest.. There is no need for anger."

Nayun closed her eyes. Disregarding the talk of pets. "Apples. Oranges. Meswen. Yun enjoys them."

"Yun?" Liliths full lips forming into an o as she said the name.

"As my shikigami.. this kitsune is apart of me. It is only fitting that she shares my name. A woman of Adenna must have a name." Nayun's fingers ceased their steady pets along the foxes white fur.

"Yun it is." Lilith smiled, her thin fingers reaching to brush at the top of the foxes head. "A strong name. For a strong warrior."

I am a bird trapped within a cage.. but my spirit, my warriors spirit is free to roam.

Exile

"It would be best if you stay out of the region until things settle.."

There was civil war in Settesh. While more of the younger generation seemed pleased with the progressive changes brought during these months of occupation, the older generation and religious zealots believed different. The final straw, it seemed, was talks of allowing women to join the ranks of Settesh warriors. While this practice may be the norm up north in Adenna, there was still strong opposition from many religious figures that turned this decision into the breaking point of the masked peace that had taken the south desert.

Things were no longer safe.

A failed assassination attempt on Nayun had already taken the life of the king; who ate a meal that had been intended for the girl. It was no longer than a day later, after the castle had been put on lockdown, that Nayun and Dawn were ushered secretly past the city gates and taken through the desert. The stay in Winter Hill was brief, and Adenna briefer.

"RhyDin." The Siovanui Seirichi offered. "They can use my home.. if Liltu controls transportation from our realm to there, it should be the safest place, for now."

"I would have to agree.." The Ninth Lilith, Nima, said with concern. "Though RhyDin isn't the safest of places.. but with you close by, perhaps it is the best of choices."

"You'll get through this, Nayun." Seirichi tried offering the girl a smile, but Nayun seemed to care in the least for her attempts at consoling her.

She failed. Though her task was to sit as a figurehead and follow orders, she still believe she failed.

...

"Dawn and I will stay in Dragon's Gate.. The manor provided by the Barony will make--" Nayun was cut off by the Siovanui. "Are you sure? There's more than enough room under my roof. "

"Yes. The distraction of learning the blade is what she needs.. the dueling school will provide that. Freia is fine with the arrangement."

".. It would of been nice if you brought it up with me first." Seirichi sighed. "Fine. If Freia is fine with it, I'm fine with it. But promise me.. you'll keep your eyes open. First sign of trouble, I want you to call for me."

Nayun walked silently beside Seirichi. Her brief pause in words causing the Siovanui to stop and reach out an arm; crossing its path in front of the stepping Nayun.

"Nayun.." she said.

"Understood." Nayun finally parted her lips to speak, then stepped about the arm to continue through the market place.

A failure and now an exile.

".. I still don't know why we didn't take a wagon or something this time." Dawn said in somewhat of a whining voice. Nayun hadn't responded to her in the last twenty minutes or so - so Dawn had decided she would simply talk to herself while they continued their off-road trek to Mt. Yasuo.

".. You've been there once, couldn't we have asked Nima t--"

Dawn was finally quieted by the stopping Nayun. ".. Walking is part of the training. The journey is of the mind and body. Every step we take is another step toward a goal. Reflect on that, Dawn." and with that, she continued walking.

Dawn couldn't say another word in response to that. Instead, she silently thought over what Nayun had said while she followed along.

".. Some of the girls said you cried."

It came so suddenly; the question. Nayun wouldn't stop, the sound of snow crushing under the weight of her feet would be the only sound breaking the silence that had overtaken them.

"It is hard to see Miss Candy lose.", finally said. Nayun took a look over her shoulder toward the other girl.

"Why?" Dawn pressed.

"I do not know.", then after a pause. "Quiet for now.. I must think." Nayun looked away. A long exhale of heated breath meeting the chill of the air.

Day one of the trip to Mt. Yasuo continued on in silence.

"Concentrate.." The tone of the Adennian was quiet, far too quiet.

It was a must when the deer before them was caught unaware.

Nayun sat crouched beside the kneeling Dawn. Both of them taking cover behind a tree, while also using it to help the blonde keep her rifle balanced against a winter-dead branch so she could line up her shot better.

Dawn had already trained with the weapon for some weeks, but this was her first chance to use it on a live target. No - not only that, this was the first time she had ever hunted before; it was always Nayun who provided for the two of them.

Relax. Concentrate. Concentrate. Relax..

The trigger was pulled and a loud bang filled the air. The deer bolted. It ran through the snow, but the damage had been done. A trail of scattered crimson lined the snow next to its erratic hoof prints as it ran off.

"Lung." Nayun said. No need to keep her voice lowered anymore. Dawn watched the girl casually follow after the trail of blood.. but the blonde, she knelt there using the tree as support.

I did it.., Dawn thought. But the realization that she had just helped kill something took the forefront of her mind. Death wasn't uncommon -- she was an Adennian girl. She had seen first hand in Settesh what carnage and battle could do.. But she had never taken the chance to stain her own hands; but now..

Dawn followed after Nayun's tracks. Finding the girl knelt down before the deer and looking it over. Once she reached her side - Nayun spoke. "You're a woman now. Let no one else say different."

Words caught up in the blondes throat.

"Wear it with pride." Nayun said. A blood dipped finger reaching up to smear a line of red across Dawn's forehead.

and their second day to Mt. Yasuo continued on.

The 5th Day

The fourth passed easy enough. The deer Dawn had slain and the meat collected from it made an easy bartering tool to gain access into a rest stop some hours off the main road. It provided a nice backdrop to think. The soft snows surrounding them, kept at bay thanks to the heat rising from the hot springs scattered about the owners land.

Dawn had fallen asleep some hours ago. The walking was a strain on her weak body, and the heated bath was all she needed to help pass her into the realm of dreams once body met futon.

Nayun, she wasn't so lucky. Her mind was plagued with the events that happened during the past week. Candy losing her Overlordship to the Lion.. how everything seemed unstable in the city. It felt like Settesh -- she felt powerless. With Candy in charge, there had been a feeling of something safe. Nayun had her Overlord to look up to - to ask guidance from. Whatever her Overlord needed, she obeyed and gave.

It was easy to live like that. Following orders.. completing tasks. Nayun was not one meant to hold power, but serve those who did.

Settesh was lost to her. Adenna was not meant to be her home for now. RhyDin was all she had at the moment..

.. and Candy was her Overlord.

Was.

Even in a game such as the duels. It felt nice when there was order.. The GAC, the Lion, everything felt as if it were in so much disarray.

Soft droplets of water could be heard off in the distance. Melting snow, a slow cascade of water, and then droplets raining down into the hot springs. Drip, drip, drip. Nayun was alone, the guest list had been only her, Dawn, and those who owned the establishment. All were asleep -- the bath was hers.

"Odd.." Nayun spoke softly to herself. Hand rising from the pool and eyes watches as water fell from her open palm.

Is there a reason to challenge the Lion?

For Miss Candy's honor.

Miss Candy has her own honor. Is it your place to fight?

My place is at her side.

Nayun's brow furrowed at the thought. The inner turmoil she felt.

Candy lost. She is weak. The strong rule, the weak fade into memory - only to be forgotten in the end.

She is not weak. Yet, she lost..

"Why then?" The Adennian murmured over the sounds of dripping water.

"Confusing."

Because I want to be at her side.

"Confusing." Nayun repeated as she slowly relaxed into the heated spring. Floating on her back, her eyes looking to the stars above.

"I hate him.." She found herself saying. It was not Rakeesh who came to mind. No, it was the man who sat so close to Candy in the Zen Garden; it was the man who took what she believed should have been her place.

It was the man she saw sleeping in the same futon beside Candy when she came to wake the woman for morning training.

I hate him.. It was repeated in her mind.

Her eyes fluttered open at the feeling of water dropping against forehead. Her mindless floating sent her to the other side of the hot spring, and under the melted water as it came dripping down.

Drip, drip, drip. She stared up, watching each droplet as it came down from above.

"So confusing.."

The 6th Morning

Really, how long were you in there for?" Dawn said in an exacerbated tone. A look of annoyance mixed with worry written all over her features.

Nayun didn't look well. She had spent hours within the hot top, though the way her mind had traveled -- her meditation along the waters surface felt more like a dream if anything. Yet here she was, resting against the warmth of her futon, feeling unwell.

Her cheeks flush, her eyes heavy.. but - she could not sleep. All of the stress her body had been enduring finally caught up with her. Rest - it's what her body said, but her mind could not submit to such a request. Keep going, move further, there is so much to do and so little time.

Fight the Lion. Victory would bring honor to yourself, and more importantly - Candy.

If she won, what would Candy do? Would she press her hand against the top of her head and tell her `Good Job?`.. and why did that small gesture feel like something more? She almost craved it.

"Close your eyes and try to rest.. I'll, I don't know.. I'll ask the owners if I can do some odd jobs tomorrow, maybe shovel some snow.. They might let us stay another night." Dawn's words found Nayun's ears, but the darker haired Adennian did not think to answer them.

".. I cried because I did not wish to see her fail."

A look of confusion crossed Dawn's face when the sentence was spoken.

".. There is this strange feeling.. Why does she let him touch her, but not me.. In such a way." Nayun continued.

The room fell silent then. Dawn settled down to sit against the floor, all as Nayun kept her eyes to the ceiling above.

"It is all so very confusing." Nayun broke the silence.

"You're in love with her.." Dawn's own voice, quieter than before, followed after. "That's how I felt about Matthew." There was a twinge of pain hidden within her words when she spoke the boys name.

Nayun rose. The light blanket covering her form sliding away to expose her muscular upper body. Her chest rising as her lungs took in the deepest of breaths, then slowly fell with the long exhale. The blankets shifted as knee rose. Her right arm draping across the knee.

The realization hit her during those passing seconds. "I cannot become Siovanui."

The 7th Morning

Mt. Yasuo was on hold.

Or is it easier to say it was forgotten about?

Nayun hadn't left the room since her realization. `I cannot become Siovanui..` This forced Dawn to act in their best interests, somehow striking up a deal with the old couple who owned the establishment. She would help with cooking and cleaning, and the two girls would be allowed to stay within the hot spring resort as payment.

Dawn checked on Nayun off and on throughout the day, but never more than opening the door ever so slightly to peek inside. It was always the same. Nayun resting within the covers of her futon and staring up at the ceiling.

There was some fear in her thoughts.. Many Adennians have taken a leap to their deaths upon realizing that they would never be able to attain the spiritual awakening known as Siovanui. She could only pray to the heroes of old that the same wouldn't happen with Nayun.

The Settesh incident.. When the king died, she had seen a renewed life in Nayun. The thought of becoming Siovanui had returned, yet now - it was gone. Dawn wouldn't act like she understood what Nayun was going through. She was weak, unable to become Siovanui even if she wanted. Becoming Siovanui wasn't her place.. and her parents had accepted that many years ago.

Yet Nayun.. Dawn could recall many times where the subject was brought up. To become Siovanui was her friends life goal, and now..?

"Dawn." Nayun's soft monotone found open air when the girl checked on her once more. ".. If you were to become Siovanui, who would be the one to call you back?"

".. I've never thought about it.." Dawn said. Slowly entering the room.

"A lie." Nayun rose. Her eyes looking to the blonde. "Who would you return to?"

".. You, probably.." Dawn's answer caused a brief moment of silence to fill the room.

Nayun gave a tilt of her head. ".. and before, it would have been Matthew? If given the chance.. would you become Siovanui?"

More silence. Dawn looked down to the floor in thought. A breath exhaled before her response. "No.. Losing him.. was hard, I couldn't do it again.. Not with you."

Nayun could see the visible signs of sorrow on her friends body. The way she twitched and tensed, the soft sniffles that filled the room after.

"I apologize." Nayun said. Her yukata covered form rising from her bedding. ".. I will take a bath now." Slow, calm footsteps led her toward Dawn's side. Before passing, she'd press a light hand against the blondes shoulder. No more words were needed after that.

The 8th Morning : Before Sunrise

"Wake up."

Dawn's sleep was disturbed as she heard this. Her eyes fluttering open, then squinting closed to try and block out the candle light that shimmered into her view. ".. What's going on?" She said, along with shifting within her futon to try and hide her face in a weak attempt to fall back to sleep.

Nayun wouldn't allow this. A hand reached for the back of the girls yukata, and then came a tug to force her onto her knees. "Wake up." Nayun said, then releasing.

"Dress yourself.. We will leave for Yasuo." Nayun's voice spoke true as soft pitter patter of footsteps led the dark haired Adennian from the room. "I will return with breakfast." The door sliding closed behind her.

Dawn was left alone. No longer half asleep, but still feeling the ache of yesterdays cleaning work still fresh in her muscles. The back of Dawn's wrists pressed to sleepy eyes, then retreating away for only some seconds before slapping palms against her cheeks. "Up, up.." She tried to will herself. The coaxing must of worked, since she'd rise to her feet.

".. I guess, she's feeling okay now.." Dawn couldn't know for sure. It was hard to gauge Nayun's emotional state unless she bluntly told another how she felt. Dawn tried to hope for the best.. But, there was still worry. This worry came with a sigh.

Time to get dressed.

The 8th Morning

The hot springs were behind them. Thirty minutes away by foot. The two Adennians would be arriving at the main road soon enough, but there was a problem in their way. That problem was Nayun.

It came suddenly. Calm, easy footsteps led them on - before things shifted from one to another. Dawn had watched Nayun veer from the path. The thought of asking what was wrong came to mind, but was quieted when she saw the steel of Nayun's blade pull from sheathe.

Then, it started. Hacking - slashing. Pent up frustration let loose on the nearest tree. It shook from every impact, causing dead branches to fall to snow covered ground; along with splinters of chopped wood.

The strokes started easy, with not a sound coming from Nayun. Then, gradually, they became haphazard. Loud grunts leaving past winter-chapped lips. Single held strokes turned to violent gashes against the tree once the blade was taken within two hands.

Dawn didn't know what to do. She had seen this before. Nayun was having a fit -- it was the best thing to describe what she was watching at the moment. The blondes lower lip was taken between teeth and bitten upon while she continued to watch.

The blade struck once more, and deep -- unable to be forced out with upper body strength alone. Nayun was forced to press a foot to the battered tree and pull with all her might. When it was pulled free, her footing was lost. With a soft crush of snow, Nayun found herself sitting before the abused tree. Her chest rising and falling with deep, heavy breaths.

Fingers worked to grasp a tight hold at her weapon. She scrambled to rise up. She needed to hit this tree.. she needed to hit something; but before she could - a loud bang filled the air. Breath was forced into Nayun's lungs as she sucked in a quick gasp of air and turned her head toward the source of the sound. It was Dawn, who was now lowering her rifle after letting loose a shot in the air.

"Stop it! Now! Look at your sword.. LOOK at it!" Dawn screamed out.

Nayun was forced to blink, and then do just that. The damage had not been to the tree alone, her blade had suffered much during those wild strikes. Bent, slightly to the right from when she forced it out from the tree. Nayun could do nothing but stand and stare.

".. To become Siovan--" but Nayun was cut off.

".. That's the sword your mother gave to you, right? Look at what you did to it..! Does becoming Siovaui mean that much to you?! Why can't you just be happy with what you are now..!? Why do you have to work so hard?!" Dawn was trying hard to stay strong, but the crack in her voice easily told Nayun she was about to go over the edge and cry.

"Master Raine isn't Siovanui.. Freia isn't Siovanui..! But look at the both of them, they do what they can to help protect Adenna!" Dawn yelled through tears. "To become Siovanui isn't the final answer, dammit..! Why can't you just be Nayun for once?!"

Nayun didn't say a word. Dawn filled the void of silence. "We're going back to RhyDin.. You're not well enough to train in Yasuo.." There was a pause in the blondes words, then. "My tools are at Dragon's Gate, anyway.. how else am I going to fix your blade?"

".. R.. Right.." Nayun said. Her normal monotone was gone, replaced with a quiet, yet shaken whisper. ".. Understood."

Return

The two returned during the middle of the night. Braving the cloud covered stars, the darkness, and many other troubles that lurked within the dark. But, the gates of Dragon's Gate was soon upon -- and then behind them. The Zen Garden Dojo, an annexed piece of land and estate that Nayun had built close by the Baronial Manor of Dragon's Gate, it was nothing but quiet at this time of night.. All except for the soft whistles that danced across the air from the distance.

Nayun's head rose, awaiting the sound of the secondary whistles. When she heard them, her body relaxed - but only ever so little.

"Are you going to sleep..?" Nayun said. Most of their trip back had been awkward. Awfully awkward, even for the dark haired girl. Her question had a soft hint of uncertainty.

".. I'll be in my workshop, don't worry about me." There was a weak smile, followed by a turn. Dawn split away. Nayun stood there in silence and watched the blonde walk away. Within Dawn's hands was her bent sword; bent to the point of being unable to return inside its sheath.

Nayun felt even more alone without it.

Her hand came to rest against the hilt of her wakizashi instead. An attempt to find comfort, but it was not the same.. it was not her blade.

This ill ease continued throughout the night, and well into the morning. Lack of sleep added onto her frustration. Lingering thoughts of Siovanui, of her blade.. of Candy Hart. They plagued her mind like drums that wouldn't allow her rest.

Fatigue had gotten the best of her in the end, but it only allowed for a few hours of sleep. It was why she wasn't awake when the sun crept through the windows of her room.

The soft slide of the door opening had been what woke her. Nayun rose, instantly reaching for where she kept her blade -- but only her wakizashi was there. Red eyes looked to the door, only to see the figure of a student standing there.

".. Sensei." The girl said. There was a small look of consurn on her face. Mio.. a girl who Nayun had taken into her manor soon after reopening the dueling school. She was one of her early students in a dojo that now held six.

"Ano... Dawn-san said you are in need of a blade. I would like to offer mine. The craftsmanship isn't the same, but it should do for your Madness match."

Madness. Nayun had almost forgotten about that. It was another annoyance added to her list of many.

When no answer came, Mio looked to her teacher with a puzzled expression. "I apologize, but.. the others are waiting. You were going to hold classes today?"

Nayun always held classes. Whenever she was there, her students knew to be ready when the time came. There might not have been many seeking her aid, but her small group needed their teacher. That thought came to mind when Nayun heard Mio's words.

Master Raine isn't Siovanui..

She could hear Dawn's words in her mind.

".. Is that what I am to become?" Nayun said in a soft voice. A look down to her blanket covered lap.

There was a blink, then a shake of her head. "Leave your blade.. Gather the students and have them stretch and run laps, I will be there shortly."

"Hai, Sensei.." Mio bowed her head, then set her sheathed katana against the wall beside the door. Another bow followed, then a step back before she closed the door. Nayun was left alone, her eyes looking to the weapon she would now be borrowing.

".. It is not mothers, but my fighting spirit is within my students.. As well as their swords.. is that what you say, Master Raine?"

The Ends ( do not ) Justify the Means: Siovanui

"I apologize.. that our trip was cut short." Nayun spoke softly to Lamix as she entered the room they shared within the confines of the Adenna Embassy. She'd brush back against fabric of her hakama as she moved to kneel close by the rather rough looking teen. Though she appeared to be such a way, Nayun knew not to go by the books cover with this girl.

"I had wanted to show Dawn and you the hot springs of Yasuo.. but," Her words trailing off. The situation with one of her dojo students had been the reason why Nayun had been called back not even a week into their trip. "Perhaps another time."

Lamix found herself looking in the direction of the other, her lips pressing tightly together. "...I guess I was starting to like this place. It's no reason to apologize, though. " She speaks as she looked upon her.

"....What will you do now? " Lamix wondered aloud. "...I mean, I know that you were looking for something important here, you know? " She asks with raised brows.

"I do not know.. for now, I believe training my students in firearms is useful. Continuing their kendo classes as well," Nayun paused to nod her head. "That's all I can think of.. it's all I can do" There was a light grip at the fabric of her pants. "It's a silly thing, talking in such a way with you.. But, strangely - you put my heart at ease." She looked to Lamix. ".. You and Dawn are those I can truly call my friends."

"Yasuo.. Yasuo is dear to me, I seek what any warrior seeks.. The reason why we continue to fight. The answer is different for each person," There was a tilt of her head. "So.. I would like to find that out.. But, for now. It seems I can not.."

Friends. Just friends. And was Lamix okay with being known as such? Of knowing that she was just friends? Sometimes she did. And then there were times she did not. The conflicting of sensations doing more to her than she needed to deal with. "....I...Nayun. I really don't mind you talking with me like this. It's not like I hate it. I...feel like..." No. Not feel like. "...I want you to feel like you can be open with me. " She assures her. " ...I want you to feel like you can come out and tell me these things if something is ever bothering you. " She tried at a smile, but wasn't entirely sure how good it would work.

Nayun looked down at her lap. Fingers keeping hold of the fabic of her hakama. ".. Do you recall what we spoke of while on the road," She paused, peering up at Lamix. "to Yasuo.. About Miss Candy?"

"I have decided.. To stay away. When you said that Candy is happy with this man, I understand that now.. and what I want is for Miss Candy to be happy." Nodding her head, slowly. "All I ever want is for Miss Candy to be happy.. So," She paused again to look away. "I will watch.. and enjoy her happiness from afar."

"Perhaps I am not meant for these feelings. This tightness in my chest when I am close to her, or the feeling of my cheeks growing hotter.. It's far too confusing."

"....I... " Lamix licked at her lips. She was trying to figure out a decent way to not make this about herself. Her chest rose and then fell as she spoke. "...Nayun....you....it's okay to be like this. I mean." Her lips curled into a smile. " I know you've done a lot of things. Maybe even.. " She reached to touch her. And brought her hand up. And then down....as if to warn her that it was coming. It closed around her fingers. "....Things that you regret. However. "

"This...this only means that you're still human on the inside. And for a young girl like you?" She smiles. "That's a great thing. Emotion. Don't ever lose that. Don't become like the rest, Nayun."

"Emotions.. they made my sister into a Queen.. Emotions are why people go to war, why my late husband was assassinated in my stead." Nayun had watched those fingers wrap about her own. Staring, looking upon them.. Then -- pulling away. The fabric of her kimono shifting as she moved to rise. Her back turned to Lamix.

"That is why.." It only took three simple steps.

Nayun Takamine

Date: 2013-05-26 18:38 EST
Coming to the door of the room. She'd press a hand to it, then lock it into place. With her back still turned to Lamix, Nayun slowly began reach down. Her hakama soon enough falling from her waist and gathering about her feet, and then -- soon enough her kimono came slowly lowering from her shoulders.

".. I want you to take my virginity..?

?Do not turn from the idea, I have thought much on this.. This, it is the only thing keeping me tied to the ideals of becoming Siovanui.. But, to become such. I fear -- in the end, I could hurt Miss Candy.. Emotions, Miss Lamix.. I fear if I dwell on it for too long, it will overpower me in the end." The fabric had not falling any lower than her shoulders. Her gripping fingers had not allowed it.

".. Master Raine gave up her chance for love.. and," Nayun stopped. Her words choking in her throat. ".. So will I."

"What...? " She speaks then. Her eyes wide as she looked towards her.....and then she stood. Her mind took a moment to process that piece together in all truth. However...

"......... " Lamix lifted upwards and brought fingers up through her hair. " ...I...no. I can't. I can't do that. " She spoke to her, her head shaking. " ...I do that and you lose any chance you had of becoming Sio-... " She had wanted to speak more, but the girl had stopped her. And, perhaps she was right after all. She swallowed hard, but slowly shook her head. ".....Do you...are you certain it's going to be a danger if you become one? It's....Nayun it's all you ever wanted. "

"You are an outsider to Adenna," Nayun kept her back to Lamix. Her eyes focused on the door in front of her. Bare shoulders, one flesh and one metal, trembled slightly. "To become Siovanui.. to return from the spirit realm, one must have a strong connection.. a person to come back to. I fear, Miss Candy may be mine.. When I dream I see her, when my thoughts have nothing to turn to - it turns to her.."

".. I realized this months ago," Turning. She looked over her shoulder at Lamix. "To become Siovanui is beyond me now.. Because, even if it is the smallest chance.. I do not wish to harm Miss Candy."

"My sister.. said to become Siovanui was not my place. I see her reasoning now.. I only needed to find out on my own." Nayun swallowed back. "I am not meant to be Siovanui.. I am meant to sweep the streets for the young ones, hoping that they will achieve what I had not."

"That is why," Nayun turned. The fabric of her kimono lowering even more to gather about her chest. ".. I will be your woman this night.."

Lamix frowned. It was...heartrending to hear. She was an outsider. It was true. And yet, it seemed that one gave up so much when they allowed themselves to come to this. And for so much power. Was this what Seirichi had to look forward to when she was younger? Was this what her daughter had to look forward to? Her chest heaved. "....I....Nayun. " She tightened her lips. " ...I don't know if I can. " Say it. Make sure you let the words hit true. It would make no sense if she allowed it afterwards. " ...I've been around you for a long time. You know that, don't you?" She asks. " ...I've tried to support anything you ever did. Even things that we differ in. Because I want to be a friend, and....I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction. You know that I'm to be a consort of Nima...but..." She frowned, the sadness reaching her eyes as they looked to the wall. She was finding it difficult to see her in them. "...I think, what it is I truly want...is to rather be with you sometimes."

"That is why I believe you are the right choice." Nayun stepped closer, yet she had still been so far away from Lamix. The gathered fabric at her chest was kept clutched to, as if even the smallest motion could give way if she took away even the smallest bit of her grip.

"I do not.. understand what you mean by your words. To be the Lilith's consort is a great honor," She lowered herself then. Kneeling slowly upon the floor. "Are you saying that you want me to be your woman?" She paused. The confusion in her voice ringing true. "Sometimes..?"

Lamix smiled sadly, her eyes gazing to the floor. Had...she always known? "....I must be transparent." She spoke softly. Her fingers gently rising upwards through her hair. She then eventually brought her gaze up towards her with a slight smile. "...I...yeah. Sometimes." She confessed. " Sometimes, I feel that way. it's what I want to do. With you. And...well. Part of Nima's grown on me, but...not enough. Not like you do....and...it hurts me too, because I think she genuinely cares about me. I do too, .. but...." She sits herself down. "....I care about you too, Nayun. A Lot. A Lot more than I should. "

Nayun Takamine

".. I do not know what to do.. The Lilith," Nayun bowed her head some as she spoke of the name. Eyes to her lap. "She, to go against her wishes in such a way.." Her mind had been attempting to wrap around the subject. She paused, her body tensing up as she thought.. and then, her head rose. "I am the Queen of Settesh.. though in name only. The orders I follow are of the Queen of Adenna, my sister -- Nayon Dagger Sasc.."

Nayun swallowed back. She sat up more straight and nodded her head. "Miss Lamix. Accept my body," She spoke in a matter of fact sort of way. Her voice, monotone as most normal. Her eyes held authority.

"and I will become your woman. Not for this night, but for how long you wish to have me. You have feelings for me.. much like I have feelings for Miss Candy." She gripped at her kimono. "Is this true?"

".......Yes." Lamix whispers, her eyes closing. "....Yes, this is true. I ...I have feelings for you. " She spoke, her fingers gently pushing to her chin. " ....but...what..what of Nima, Nayun? What then...? " She asks as she takes a firm swallow. If she did this. If she tasted of this sweet fruit. Nima would know. As soon as she laid eyes on her. And yet. She wanted to do this. Nayun would become a woman like Seirichi. And there would be dangers to this. She was saving her. Wasn't she?

"The Ninth Lilith has many consorts." Nayuns chin lifted more. "I have not asked for much.. I was told I would be allowed favors should I do what I am told during my time in the desert region of Settesh.. I will ask that you becoming my own consort be one of these favors. The Eighth was the one to allow me these conditions. This dojo was my first.. Miss Lamix, you will be my second."

"Following orders is all I know, Miss Lamix.. But, even if rarely, I would like to issue orders."

"Should the Ninth find issue with this.. I will bring it up with her mother. Miss Nima may have the position, but even I know the true power of Liltu still remains with the Eighth."

Lamix took in a deep breath, her lips curled into a slight smile. She tightened her lips. She was right there in front of her. So, why wasn't she reaching out? Why wasn't she taking her? Swallowing back at this point, she looked back towards Nayun. She wanted her for her consort. She didn't know what this would bring for herself. For all of them. She remembered Mia's words then, that night at the bridge. An' you got it pretty good too. 'Cause incase you ain't know...you still got the b@*#$iest girl in Adenna waitin' ova' there ready to fight tooth an' nail for that @$$ if she had to. ...did Nayun wish to fight for her too? Did she care? Or did she want to use her for the relief she could end her torture with? " ...Nayun....if this..." She tightens her lips some. "....right now?" She inquires.

"I..," Nayun stilled her words. An unsure expression crossed her features. "I apologize, my dear.. But, I am confused by your words." Yes. She had said my dear. It was a shift from the normal Miss Lamix that she spoke oh so often when referring to the other. An added bit of authority, along with a formal tone to it. "What do you mean?"

Lamix tightened her lips some. It sounded just like Nayun, too. Having it like this. She recalled the song that she made for her. She recalled what Nima had done. Was willing to do. She closed both eyes. It was in her grasp. It was so...so close she could taste it. Taste Nayun on the tip of her tongue. " ....Nayun. We...I can't do this. " She speaks gently. " I want to...but I can't. Not right now. I can't claim you just yet. " She took her hand. " ....you remember what happened with Seirichi and Mia. " She spoke, to put it more into perspective. " ...It was something that happened behind her back. ...Nima....is not going to be happy. With either of us. You already know this, too. But, at least she'll know my intentions. I need to tell her straight up. " And, she needed to process everything currently happening around her at once, too. "....Can you do that for me?"

"So.. you are saying," The fabric of her kimono lifted. Once more covering her shoulders. She clutched, wrapping the warmth about her body. "That you will be speaking to Miss Nima of this."

Nayun's face turned to an expression of thought. "I will need to speak with my Sister then.. But," She turned her attention back to Lamix. "I want to know, from your mouth, your decision.. What do you want to become of this situation? Between us?"

"...I'd like to.....I ....I want to be your consort. " Lamix confesses. "...And yet I'm afraid of breaking Nima's heart, too. She's....she's been annoying, yeah....but ever since we've met, she's ....done everything she could to help me. I....I feel as If I'm betraying her somehow. That's why I can't just do this. Not like this, so far away from her. I need to be certain I can be your consort. That I can look her in the eyes and say that I'm going to be with you from here on out. " She looks to her. "...does. ...that make sense?"

Nayun turned as Lamix spoke. Her body inching toward the small table beside the wall. A piece of paper grasped upon to, and soon enough a writing tool. Nayun kept silent, even after Lamix had asked her that question. It would be a minute before the sound of folding paper came, and then she would turn.

"My dear, it is your choice.. I have said that you will be my consort, so I will view it as that until your mind is changed." She held out the folded parchment toward Lamix. "Show this to Floe, it is my consent that you be allowed to use the portal ways between here and Liltu.. Speak with the Ninth."

"I.. am not good at this.." She had recalled what she was taught during her stay in Settesh. If and when Lamix took the letter, that would be when Nayun reached to take her hand. Her knees allowing her to inch closer so that she could brush her lips against the others cheek.

"I will wait,--"

".. Nayun-sensei?" A voice called out from behind the door. It was the one that belonged to Saito Mio, a student of the dojo.

Nayun straightened up and spoke out. "What is it?"

"It's 4 AM, are you ready for your run?" Saito answered from behind the door.

Nayun looked to Lamix. ".. I overslept. Return in thirty minutes." She stilled her words then.

".. Understood." Came, and soon enough the sound of footsteps moving away.

"I will wait for you.. but, do not keep me waiting for long." Nayun finished what she had wanted to say.

"...But not too long. " Lamix murmured. " ....No. " She spoke with a soft smile. " ...I don't think you'll need to wait too long at all. " Assured the teen with a gentle smile.

"Hm..," Nayun nodded her head, then rose. "I will be changing now.. I've kept you up for far too long. So -- please, get some sleep. I will have Saito bring your meal later." She turned and pressed a hand to the door she locked some time ago. Slowly, the soft click sounded before she slid it open.

"Rest well.. my dear," She lingered only for a second after her words, then moved to leave the room. The door sliding closed behind her.

"............Goodbye...my...." And then came the sliding door. Lamix breathed. "...my dear... " She spoke softly, long after the door had closed. Her eyes shut. And her fingers lifted upwards into her hair. She leaned over, and bent over as her toes curled. She swallowed, keeping her parchment close to her figure as she gazed to the wall. "....Seirichi. What...would you have done..." She murmured helplessly.

Nayun sat along the small man made river that cut through the Sakura Gardens. The bridge that ran over it had been a checkpoint; always. She would stop and check her time every morning once making it here. Today she was three seconds short from the day before.

The blame could easily be set on her mind running wild. Thoughts pushing through them of what had transpired only an hour or so before.

Did she have feelings for Lamix? No. She held her in regards as a simple friend -- much like she did with Dawn. Then why was putting herself in this situation. Simple; for Nayun, this was the means to an end. She wished to give up the chance to become Siovanui. Though it pained her, she had weighed the options for quite some time.

".. For," She pressed palms against the railing of the bridge. "Miss Candy.." Her voice coming out as a sort murmur.

Lamix admitted feelings for her. If anything, Nayun could understand those. She held feelings for a woman who would never return them; no matter how much she hoped that she would. Dillon.. was a nice man. During the challenge of FireStar, she could see that. Hating him -- it was wrong.

From afar. She can endure that. From afar, she will watch Candy's happiness.

And for Lamix, she would endure and simply hope for the best. To use Lamix to cast aside becoming Siovanui, the trade of becoming her woman was fair enough.

"Love.. can grow. If I make her happy, perhaps.. I will be happy."

Some Days Later

Lamix made her way forth. Of course, God could only dictate now what sort of trouble she'd end up running into now that she had made this decision. She could still remember what she said;....she wanted this to happen. She wanted to make her a consort. And yet, she didn't think it was possible. She wasn't so dumb a woman that she didn't think that these little delusions were dream-made-realities to her. She was an outsider. And for that reason she always would be. The dark haired teen continued forth, making her way through the tower as she waited for Nima to make herself known.

"....Nima..." She spoke out, towards the Ninth. Wishing for her voice. " ....Nima, I need to talk with you. " Sighed the woman.

"Well, well.. Lamix, you come without my will? A first." A low chuckle sounding from the shadows as Nima appeared. Elegantly dressed within white silk. A gown which hugged at every curve her body could make.

"I was about to sleep.. It's quite late, you see." Fingers pressed to grinning lips. "Unlike in RhyDin..," Her gown sweeping across the ground as she moved for Lamix. "Hiding away in Yasuo.. What a naughty girl you are, but I'm ever so excited that you have returned to me." Nima reached, grasping at her arms. "Tell me of your adventure! My ears and full attention are yours."

"You didn't get my note? " She frowned...for a moment, she was worried that she hadn't read anything of what she did at all. Or worse, had no idea she'd been gone. That might've gone worse, come to think of it.

Lamix thought of the gown last, and how good it looked against her body. " ....I...I was hoping you were alright. I worried for a bit, but then I forgot that this is you we're talking about. " Her smile was slight, however. And it didn't reach her eyes.

"Ah, your note was received.. I have it on my desk even now. But no, I felt no need to respond to it." A light chuckle ran past her lips. "I was waiting for you to return, so that you may tell me personally of your travels.." Her words stilled then.

"My Lamix.. you seem more distant than normal. Is there something wrong?"

Lamix looked to her for a long moment, just keeping her smile as it dropped. " ...Well. I guess it's funny how we talk about my adventures. I mean, it was nothing serious to speak on really. " She twisted her lips some, her fingers stroking gently over her lips as her head lowered to the floor. " ...Nayun had to return to the Gardens so ....well, things became uneventful from there. But..." She gave a slight shrug. " I mean...'hey'....I know how to use firearms better now..." She stopped briefly. However,

Nima could already tell there was more to the story. Sighing, she spoke once more. "....there's something else, too. It's...it's about Nayun. And when we returned.... "

"That girl.. Always trouble." Sighing out in amusement. Nima turned about, her hands reaching back to loosely grasp hold of one another at the small of her back. Step, by slow step, did she move away from Lamix. Peering down the hall. Wordlessly, as she did not need to speak, it was obvious that she was coaxing the other to follow after her.

"I told mother to keep her out of Settesh, but no.. How dull." There was a sigh. "and now she's in RhyDin.. a maid shouldn't be allowed such freedom. Right, My Lamix?" She peered over her shoulder to grace an amused smile her way.

".. She's not well in the mind. Really, how sad." A pout then. "I feel sorry for the poor girl. So much burdening her.." Nima looked away. "Well. Tell me what happened now.. Did she have another fit? Was there an explosion? Let me guess," She paused, pressing a finger to her lips. Suddenly - she turned about with a gleeful smile. "You saw her naked? Dreadful sight, isn't it?"

Lamix would blink, and then eventually come to follow her. Follow after as she took in a deep breath. After her Lamix went...even as she spoke on about the problem that was Nayun. A poor swordswoman who wanted everything, and yet knew nothing of how to grasp at it. " It's not her fault you know. " She finally spoke, somewhat sadly. " .....She goes through alot because people ask so much of her. I don't know if anyone ever stops to think that she's still human. She....she's got real emotions, Nima. " She stops as she does, her brow tensing at the accusation.

"...N-no. I didn't. " But she almost did. " ....Nima. Do you know of her desires? Of what she wants? Do you know that she wants to give up being a Siovanui?"

"Emotions?" Nima grinned. There was a snicker then. A girlish one. One that wouldn't fit the body of a woman. Instead, it matched well with the figure of one who had been born with a golden spoon in her mouth. "My Lamix.. You do know of such things as a caste system? If it wasn't for me, you'd still be at the very bottom of the totem pole." Her lips pursed into a frown while she nodded her head.

"Do you know they call her `Killer` Nayun behind her back? I wonder how many people they've had her assassinate.. I for one dislike the name, it's too bland. It sounds like something a ten year old would think of." Waving it off.

The wave stilled. The hand pulling back to press fingers to her chin. "Now, this is something.. I recall being told that she was to give up on the idea of becoming Siovanui. It was an order by her dear sister, after all.. Are you telling me she's continued on?"

"...Did you think she'd have given up...? " Lamix asks. Her brow furrowing some. " ....she..." Her lips tighten. "....She's in love with someone, you know that right? She seems to know herself that ascending would be dangerous if she goes on this path she desires right now. What's....what would happen if she was to become Siovanui...and was unrequited?" Nayun had mentioned something about it earlier, but she hadn't asked her fully about what it meant. Did Nima even know?

"It was an order.. I would like to assume those put on a leash would do as they are told." Nima seemed quite ill at ease with this discovery. ".. Should I speak with her sister, or.." There was a pause. Perhaps she was thinking of a way to use this for other reasons.

Though this plotting came to an end at Lamixs' question. "Hm? Love doesn't matter. It's a tie that binds, but it is not the end all.. Strong emotions, a single memory, something to trigger the Siovanui back into this world and outside of the spirit realm. That's all they need." Crossing her arms some. "My mother was the chosen one for Techichi.. they, only met once. Yet, that had been enough -- years later, to draw Techichi to her."

"She almost died.. but, being the Lilith, that would not do. We are quite strong, you see.. But, my sister," Nima's words fell low. "Her chosen one met the fate of all the others.. It's a most foul death, burning in such a way.. The energy output from the newly made Siovanui is so strong that it melts away all around it."

Nima then perked a brow. "Who is the one she loves? Or, says she loves.. I doubt she knows what that word really means." There was a grin. "Is it that blonde girl? I forgot her name.. Twilight, Sun, something of the sort."

Lamix closed both eyes...as much as she knew she was attracted towards Nima, hearing her belittle those that Nayun cared for was more than the femme could bear. Perhaps that's what gave her the courage to say so. "....She wants to give up her virginity. " She speaks. "It's the only thing keeping her from thinking of becoming a Siovanui ever again."

".. and?" Nima seemed to not quite understand where this is going. Her wrist rolling about as hand gestured for Lamix to continue. "This is supposed to shock or come as news to me? She was ordered to set aside aspirations for becoming Siovanui.. Losing ones virginity is implied in doing just that."

"So she didn't give it away to that boy king before his death.. How sad." Her fingers tapped against lips.

"..........." Lamix swallowed hard. "....She wants...she wants to give it to me, Nima. " Says the teen, her arms folding gently over her torso. She waited once more. She didn't know how she'd react, so she was careful about saying too much before she got to speak her mind.

It came slow. What first started as a twitch of Nima?s lips curled into a soft curling of them. They parted, enough to show off the white of her teeth before she laughed out. Amusement. That's what her face shown. Pure, utter amusement.

"Really?" Her laughter stilled her words. She was forced to bring a hand to her lips to try and keep the chuckles at bay. "A complete idiot! Ahh.. I cannot wait to tell Seirichi of this. We will have such a laugh."

Lamix furrowed at the brow. Her fist clenching into her leather-covered bicep. At this point, she was unsure of what was worse. The fact that she still felt bad for considering otherwise, or the fact that Nayun seemed to see it all as a game. " Nima....you.... "

She let go of her arms then. Her chest rising and falling with her breath as she tried to steel her nerves. Did Nayun mean so little to her in the grand scheme of things? " ....Nima. She said that Nayon had allowed her certain favors in having her become queen. Certain favors she's still owed. She means to have me for one of them. And....you know...you know what? " Her lips tightened. " ...I'm of a mind to give her what she wants, too."

"Tread carefully, my Lamix.. You do not wish to see me angered, now.. do you?" Nima?s words were cold when she said this. The delight, the amusement that had once been painted across her face were now replaced with one of sheer annoyance.

"I know of this.. it was my Mother who allowed this deal to be struck." She inched closer. Her brows lifting as she looked down upon the girl. "If you are simply attempting a jest with me, I am finding this not funny. Not at all." She reached then. Her fingers grasping hold of Lamixs' chin; forcing her to look up and at her. Their eyes meeting.

"It takes two.. she cannot have a free woman."

There it was. Not so funny anymore, was it? Lamix narrowed her eyes. Somewhat in defiance over the look she got over her. She wasn't afraid of her. She wasn't, but she knew that she had to face up to her or end up kneeling before her threats. Swallowing back, she was forced to meet eyes with her...her lips tense. " .....She doesn't have to. I want to give myself to her, Nima. " She took a deep breath.

"....I ...." She rolled her eyes about some as she took her chin from the witch's grasp. " ...I don't want to say this; because it's wrong on so many levels.....but, if I can say it once I can say it again. You've...helped me in more ways than I can count. And I'm sorry that I haven't given you what I know you want....but it's her. I've...I've got feelings for the girl, Nima. I think I have for a long time, now."

"To be beaten by a dog.." Nima murmured softly. Her own grip loosened, needing not much force from Lamix to pull her hand away. Gown slid against the hard, stone floor. Step by step, as Nima moved away.

"I've given you so much.. took you off the street, kept you within my care. Yet, you prove that dogs keep to their own kind." Nima said. Her eyes locked on the hand she once held Lamixs' chin within. Her lips curving to form into a smirk. "She's a mortal, you know.. Slowly, bit by bit, you will grow tired of her.. No," She paused, then nodded. "It will happen before then."

Eyes looking to Lamix. "I can wait for you. I've told you this, many times. Go play in the mud for all I care, but in the end." The corner of her lip twitched. A forced smirk. "You'll come back to me. Dogs always return to their masters."

"..................." Lamix narrowed her eyes...her jaw clenched. " ...." Is that all she thought of her as? As a Dog? Was she? Her eyes closed tightly. Her head turning downwards as something began to boil over inside of her. She wasn't sure, but the pain was there. Anger. Her chest rising, and then falling. " ....Gods willing, I won't live as long as a master will. " Fist clenched, but she did nothing else. ....she silently turned and walked in the opposite direction. Her eyes shutting tightly as the tears began to gently roll down her flesh.

"Tell that girl to visit the Tower, and soon.. or else she will be missing another arm." Nima called down the walkway of the hall after Lamix. "I will not have some mongrel who bites the hand of her own benefactors wearing my seal!" Her anger apparent. In the way the walls of the tower fluxed under her commanding yell.

Lamix clenched her fists tightly...walking down the hall. Picking up her speed...her dark figure disappearing into the distance of the hall as she broke off into a full-on run. Goddamn this family...

The Next Night

The knock might've been mistaken for the rolling thunder that was heard on the outside, if one wasn't listening properly. And yet. Nayun had better ears than that. She knew how to discern from the real and the illusion. At the very least she thought she did, didn't she? Dogs weren't trained to know what was real and what wasn't, however. Sometimes, and as much as it hurt...one had to force open another's eyes to know what was really there in front of them. The knocking continued onwards.

"Come in.." Came from inside. Nayun would be sitting before a lit candle. Her body hunched over lightly whilst she busied herself with her current task at hand. The task being pressing ink to paper. It was a nightly ritual -- attempting to better herself at the written word, or at least making her text far more readable.

Lamix made her way on inside....dripping wet. The rain pattered across the window itself as too did the drops that fell from her clothing. Her eyes were looking to the floor before her. Lamix hadn't really expected that this would go smoothly. Nayun could be an awkward girl sometimes. And yet, for some reason...she'd been wondering how she'd react when she told her the things she intended on telling her. Even now however, she didn't seem to have much reason to be happy."....It's me. " She spoke gently.

Nayun set pen down, then rose from her kneeling position. Hands grasped hold of kimono to tug at fabric, then reached down to smooth here and there before she turned to face Lamix.

Nayun paused. Not speaking a word as eyes took in the sight in front of her. "My dear," She said while inching forward. "You're wet." Stating the obvious, and in a monotone which was her normal. She did not move for Lamix, but instead moved past her. Reaching to take hold of closet door and sliding it open.

"Remove your clothing." Nayun's eyes looked to the row of clothing in front of her. Picking and choosing between items that might fit Lamix, though the girl was taller than her.

"....Wait. " Lamix spoke gently. Her chest rising as she looks to the door...she closes it gently beside herself. And locks it. Finally, she turns back towards her...holding something in her hand. " ...I...wanted to give you something."

"That can wait.. you're wet," Nayun said in a matter of fact sort of tone. "I will not have you getting sick." Pulling free what looked to be an item of Dawns. A long sleeping gown. Nayun inspected it while draping the fabric over her arm.

"No. Nayun...I'm... " Lamix looked to the side. " ...I'm not worried about myself. I'm worried about you. I don't know when you're going to get that but you and me, we're not ...." She sighed. " ...We're ....you know what we are, right? " Asks the teen as she takes a step closer, reaching for her fist with a wet hand...and keeping it from going any further. " ....Nayun. Please. Listen to me. "

Nayun?s eyes snapped to the hand that dared touch her. Body growing tense, yet she did nothing more than stand still for a few seconds. Her chest rose as a breath was taken, then fell along with a long exhale; all before eyes trailed up Lamix's form to peer at her face. "I am listening.. but, it would be best if you changed."

"There is no need to worry about me." She looked back down to the gown. "Is this not to your liking?"

Lamix tugged her hand away the moment she tensed up. And began to close both eyes. "...I'm sorry. " She spoke.

And when she replied again, she looked to her...eyes defiant. "When it comes to Nima. I always worry about you. She wants to see you again. I told her...of...what we spoke about. "

"There is no need to worry about me." Nayun repeated the phrase. "If the Ninth wishes to see me, then I will go to her." All this said while she moved to hang the gown up once more. Other fabrics shifted out of the way so she could continue her search.

"Is everything settled?" She paused when saying this. Head turning, peering over her shoulder.

"...In a sense, yeah. I guess. " Lamix didn't want to tell her everything. She didn't know if she'd care anyway. Nayun hardly seemed to care about anything else but the matters of the heart. And what or what did not belong to her heart no longer mattered as far as Nayun was concerned. She watched, pulling aside her hood...those slick locks falling over one side of her face. " ...I just....I don't know... " She stopped talking. Not that it had done any good since Nayun had apparently known for awhile now, but doting on her only made her that much more aware of how much she was smothering her friend. Now that they both knew...

"I see," Nayun?s voice trailed, as if there could be more to say -- but the silence that followed spoke different.

Nayun turned. Now holding onto pajama pants, along with a long sleeve top. She stepped away, setting the two items off to the side before turning back to Lamix. There was a tilt of her head, as if she were trying to figure something out. It was then her lips slowly curled into a smile. She was supposed to smile, wasn't she?

"Welcome home." It was a simple gesture. One she was taught and reflected now, but perhaps Lamix would not now that. There was a stillness to her body that lasted a few seconds, but would end with her stepping forward and reaching out in almost an unsure fashion toward Lamix's face.

"I will prepare your bath." She said, another unsure pause before she thought things through and inched in to brush her lips to Lamix's own.

"....." Lamix looked to her. Her eyes sad. She wasn't sure if the water down her cheeks were real or if they came from someplace else entirely. She'd felt like this the entire time, and yet...." ......" She closed both eyes, feeling her touch. How ....nervous it was. She didn't love her. It was easy to tell. Lamix could read people too. And yet, was it really her fault? She felt for someone else, of that much they both knew.

And besides that, she just didn't know how to return feelings. Surely she could have done the same with Candy. Couldn't she have...?

"....You're more than just a dog to me, Nayun. " She spoke after the kiss was over. " ...You're a human being. I'll always see you as an equal. " She spoke softly. She leaned in once more to kiss at her lips, and pulled away.

Nayun?s body did not tense when the kiss came in return. She was prepared, seeing it come a mile away with every small tell tale movement Lamix's body. When she inched in, Nayun had been prepared to play her part and simply stood there to recieve the show of affection.

"I am no dog." She said as Lamix pulled away. Turning on sock covered feet and moving for the door.

"I am a wolf." Touching the door as she said this. Sliding it open and turning. Her eyes setting themselves on Lamix. "I will have your bath prepared in a moment.. Would you..," Nayun's lips parted to continue her words - yet none came for the following seconds. ".. Like me to join you?"

She looked away. ".. I must tell you, I am not interested in.. intercorse, at the moment. It's raining, and far too late.. I would rather you bathe and us share a drink instead."

"...A wolf. " Lamix spoke with a slight smile. "....And you're fine with being owned?" She asks, her head lifting upwards. " ...Having a master...? "

Nayun stilled. One step had been taken to leave the room, but none other. She would not face Lamix when she spoke these words. "You tame a dog with food, you raise a man with money.. But no one can tame a wolf of Adenna."

Her steps continued then. "Masters change. In time, I may become my own.. I have been told that I have been given a very large leash as of now.. So, it is the best time to roam."

"Please. Prepare for your bath." And she disappeared down the hall.

Lamix stared on after her for a time, holding the box in her hands against her torso. Swallowing back some. Perhaps and might it be so wrong to think it....but perhaps, there was still hope for Nayun in this world, yet.

(( This post takes place a few days after the ]IceDancer Defense against Anubis -- Link ))

"... Look at it.. My arm," Poor Dawn. She had been in for quite the shock when Nayun returned to the Sakura Gardens Dojo. Her concern had been for Nayun, but that shifted to the ruined mechanical arm that now lie before her.

Dawn took hold of the lower arm. Turning it about and inspecting the inside. So damaged. The strain from the fight was obvious. She could see where the arm had suffered damage from direct contact with The Egyptian, Anubis Karos. Dawn set the arm down with a sigh, then buried face within her hands. This was going to take lots of work.

".. The arm is shot.. I can't fix it, there's too many problems. I'll have to make one from scratch," She paused to look Nayun's way. Nayun hadn't seemed to care in the least and currently spooned soup past parted lips. Half of Nayuns face had been bandage due to blows suffered during the defense a few nights back.

Nayun looked a complete mess, but somehow Dawn couldn't help but note that the girl looked at least somewhat refine in her injured state.

Post battle. Scars suffered. Healing injuries. It's what Dawn saw most when it came to Nayun.

"I hope it was worth it. Seriously, look at it." Dawn sighed out and slouched in her chair.

"It was. Anubis is a worthy foe.. His fighting spirit is strong. I want to face him again." Nayun said as she continued to eat.

Dawn looked Nayun's way with a deadpanned expression. ".. Right. You'd like that, wouldn't you..", then another sigh.

"You need a better arm then.. Mechanical can't do. You strain it way too much with all your movement. Never mind using it to defend yourself." Dawn tapped a pencil against the remains of the broken prosthetic.

"Maybe you should get a puppet arm.. From Nima, I bet if you asked," Dawn stopped speaking when she heard the spoon touch down onto that tray somewhat roughly.

"Our arm does not belong to the Lilith. Our arm is ours." Nayun caught Dawn's eyes with her own in a long stare.

Dawn was the first to blink. Not only that, but closing her eyes all together so that she could look away. It would be a lie if she said she hadn't felt somewhat touched by Nayun's words. "Fine," She faked a grumble of annoyance.

"I'll make you one.. But it's going to take time. I've been studying off and on when it comes to Liltu puppetry. In theory, I can do it.. We have the tools, but.. It's delicate work." Dawn tried to explain.

"And you have delicate hands. You will make it work, I trust you in that." Nayun went back to feeding herself after speaking her piece.

"Flattery will only get you so far, Nayun!" Dawn huffed again. Standing up and pressing hands to her hips. "But fine," She smiled. "I'll do it."

Nayun gave Dawn a blank look. It lasted a good twenty seconds before she blinked her one good eye, then continued eating.
