Nayun Takamine

Date: 2011-10-01 12:33 EST
It would be an instant. Knocked out of her thoughts as that quick, powerful leg connected with her defending arm. Nayun did her best to press back against it, but she'd be the one to faultier with retreating steps. This wasn't the best of times to be thinking, but she couldn't help but get pulled into her thoughts as the moments passed between the two. Another strike; this time coming with an easily readable fist.

The word `` easy `` wasn't something that matched the Siovanui named Seirichi.

Nayun was on guard once more. Reinforcing that automail arm of hers with it's opposite pressed from behind. The strike came and met with the false arm. It pushed back from impact and it's partner did it's best to keep strong for the both of them. Another set of retreating steps, only for the woman to advance on her without a moments notice. Fighting Seirichi was like fighting your own ego.. You could be the strongest warrior in Adenna -- but to a Siovanui? That was insignificant. Even Nayun knew the woman wasn't using even a quarter of her real strength, and even that was quite a lot when it came to this spar between the two of them.

Her leg swept up and rose high into the air -- only to fall with a heavy gust of wind following behind it. All Nayun could do was defend once more. Wrists crossed above her head and that leg would find itself trapped. "Nayun.. You're not focusing enough." The woman spoke, which caused Nayun to widen her eyes in surprise. The Siovanui added a bit of pressure to her held leg.. and that test of strength began. Nayuns false arm clanked lightly every now and then as it shook from the force, all while it's opposite did much of the same but only in silence. "You're thinking too much. That'd be good if it was about me. But, it's not." The young warrior grit her teeth in response.

"NAYUN! DON'T LOSE!" Another voice filled the air; one that Nayun knew well over these past four years. Karaichi, the son of the Siovanui, had been cheering her own. "OI! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE CHEERING FOR MAMA!" -- "But I like Nayun more!" Exaggerated gasp let loose from between Seirichis lips at the discovery. The Siovanui, during her moment of words with her son, had let up on some of that pressure, allowing Nayun to finally push that leg away and move in for her own strike..

The girl instead found a fist ramming itself hard into her face. Seirichi had used the release of her leg to reset her balance and bring it down instead as a quick step forward. Her fist followed and the rest was history. The blow itself sent Nayun staggering back -- as well as a loud BOOOOO! from the young boy. "You want some of mamas fists too?! Come at me, boy!" Taunting at her son. Along with a few `` come, come `` gestures from curling fingers. The young Karaichi did just that and dashed across the snow at his mother and began his flurry of childish punches. "Gah..?! Ah!" The older woman played along. Even taking a knee at the true strength behind those light taps.. or at least that's how they felt to her. A Siovanuis strength, even as a child, was something that could be feared. Soon enough the woman would be face first into the snow with her son sitting on her back in triumph. "I WIN!"

Nayun watched this with a soft expression of happiness. Her lips at a gentle curl of a smile. Sure, she had a small line of blood trailing from her nose, but even that wouldn't stop her from enjoying the show. Hands clapped against one another in applause. One that stopped when she heard Seirichi speak, supposedly from the `` dead `` since she hadn't moved just yet. "What's on your mind, Nayun. Seriously?" -- "Dead people don't talk!" Her son countered. Seirichi quickly sprung up, causing the boy to fly from her back. Pleased giggle left him even as he went back first into the blanket of snow. "Who says I'm dead?!"

Nayun kept silent. The mother and her son continued to banter between each other, but it only ended with this; "You. Inside. Now." Spoken after pressing a palm to the boys forehead, and then his cheeks. "Get Corea to make you some hot coco.. and say please this time!" Kara groaned out but did as he was told. Though he did turn about and come with a punch after his mother gave a swat to his behind. A punch that only found an open palm. "Go."

Seirichi leaned back in the snow on open palms while dull grays watched her son venture back into the small house. ".. You going to talk? If you're not going to be serious, I'm not going to spar with you."

After a few moments of silence between the two females; Nayun finally spoke. "I want to learn to read.."

"This have something to do with that book your girlfriend gave you?" Words which caused the girl to quickly tense up in anger. Seirichi noted this and began to grin. ".. She's not my girlfriend." -- "What's her name?" Nayun gave a twitch of her brow. ".. Please, take me seriously." The Siovanui blinked then. Palms pushed to the ground while legs bent to help her stand back up. "What's the reason behind it then? The Nayun who came to my doorstep four years ago wanted nothing to do with reading and writing. She wouldn't even put in the effort when I'd sit her down and tried to teach her.. So, why now?" -- "I was a child. My mind was focused on learning the art of combat.." Seirichi blinked. "That doesn't answer my question. Why now?" The younger girl looked to the side then. ".. I would like to read that book.. but not only that, I want to stop the taunting of others.."

"Who's fu*king with you." It came quick -- and it came with the most serious tones. It wasn't a question.. more like an order. It made Nayun wish she hadn't even spoken those words. The girl found herself growing quiet once more. "I know no one at the training grounds has the balls to bring up that sort of sh*t. Who is it?" The Siovanui pressed. Nayun finally spoke, but it came quietly. ".. A few moments.. at the Rhy'Din duels.." Seirichi then blinked. Her serious look turning tired. "Don't take those weaklings seriously. You of all people should know that.. They lack the pride of a true warrior and believe their sports are honorable." Nayun wanted to speak against it; but she'd remain quiet. The sound of footsteps pushing through the snow followed as Seirichi moved closer to the girl. "If you want to learn how to read.. Don't do it because some idiots are hassling you. Do it because you-" A press of her index finger against the girls chest. "-want to."

".. I do." Fingers of her right curled into a tight fist as she spoke those words to the woman before her. "Right. I'll ask Corea if she can tutor you.. she's a way better teacher than I." The Siovanuis hand found the top of the girls head to give it a gentle pat. "You'll be reading that book in no time.. Make your girlfriend really happy~. You ever going to tell me her name?" Nayun narrowed her eyes. Seirichis own grew wide, as did her grin. That's when she felt that hand grasp at her outstretched arm. With a bend, Nayuns leg would snake itself about the older woman's. It followed with a quick palm into her chest. Seirichi would find herself tripped and knocked to the ground.

"There we go.. those are the eyes I wanted to see. Let's continue!"
