From the break of dawn until late in the afternoon she spent her hours preparing and going throughout the city. Several shelters plus the orphanages that she normally delivered breads and sweets to were left with enough food for a lunch and dinner banquet. Turkey, glazed ham, cheesy bean casserole, bread stuffing, turkey gravy, mash potatoes, sweet and regular breads, apple pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie squares with whipped cream all delivered to each place in a number of containers.

While she was seen buzzing around the city she made sure that when it was getting close to dark that everything was settled and done. Why? Because she had very important and special plans of her own.

It would be her first holiday and Thanksgiving with her family. Her brother. And she was cooking at his place so no doubt he would have trouble escaping her and off to his work. Nope! She would make sure that he would be full before the night was over with a shrimp ?touff?e stuffed chicken, traditional style turkey with all the trimmings, and for dessert? Well she had a few beignets just in case he'd rather not touch the rum splashed pecan pie.

She had a lot to give thanks for, American holiday or not. And while there were things still nagging at the back of her mind they were, for a few hours at least, pushed to the side and the evening enjoyed with her sibling.
