A day before the Ceremony in the Glen ?

She hadn?t wanted anyone to know.

And Vera had always been good at keeping secrets.

All the same it didn?t stop her, sneaking in a fine early morning to the Red Dragon Inn. Cleverly she had left the bag in the kitchen, an inconspicuous thing, striped blue and silver. There was a card, Katt?s name scrawled across it in a neat, feminine hand.

Inside the card:

Happy Birthday Luv,

I know you wanted me to keep mum on this but all the same, I had to do something!

You?re a brilliant friend and while I wasn?t sure on what to get you, I figured this might bring a smile to your face, a little cheer in your life, and hold as a reminder that no matter how rough the road, you have people in your life, traveling beside you.

The gift was just a simple, crystal globe, with a finely wrought silver dragon curled around it, set in an iron base. It wasn't showy, it wasn't expensive but it had brought a chuckle to the Gypsy.

Somehow, it oddly was perfect.
