Kristia had returned home from the Red Dragon Inn hastily. While she spent most time at the tavern slacking, drinking, and causing trouble - tonight a business opportunity had climbed right into her lap. She was all work now.
She went inside the library, climbing over the mountains of books left on the floor to reach her desk. The one place in that room that wasn't a complete disastor. Sitting down on the chair, she pulled out a blank parchment, quill, and ink. Everything set in place, she began her letter.
"Tobiah,
I need you to look at the cattle currently in stock. I'm in need of four mortal males, two mortal females, four elven males and two elven females. I am aware that we are out of elven females but I wasn't sure what else was left. I quoted the buyer 70 silver a head, so I would like you to stay within the thirty years range.
The younger women just sell for so much more nowadays and I'd rather keep them for training and sell them off individually for personal use. First time buyer, but one I'd like to do business with again so pick the cattle with good lines - healthy, clean, good condition. I didn't enquire into the buyer's need for cattle but I assume experimentation.
I expect a response in two days. Then I will meet you to collect them at the Rhydin borders.
Urgently,
Mistress Kristia"
The letter was signed and sealed. After it was closed she placed it in the pile of outgoing mail, with a grin on her face. It was official. She was now back in business.
