The Seas and Beyond

"Dakota, Dakota!" Jade bounced at the helm of the ship, one hand on the wheel - the other waving in the air trying to flag down her man and subsequently her daughter giggling on his shoulder.

From the deck below, the laughs slowed but didn't stop completely. Dakota turned to look up at Jade, his free hand pulling up the eye patch upon his left eye. His grin widened at her as Claira tried to wiggle away. Her small arms flailed in the air towards her mother as she giggled, wild black locks bounced in the wind.

"Yarr, lassie!" He even laughed at himself at his accent mixed with the piratey talk, "Yea, babe?"

"Drop the anchor, matey!" She pointed to the up-coming dock of a sea-side town. "Mommy needs a pit stop ta get her land lovin legs back." She waggled her brows down at the two, "Maybe a lil shoppin too~" Jade held a sing-song tone in her voice.

The two below Jade just gave her one of those looks that spelled 'As if you need more stuff.' She just shrugged and grinned. Dakota shook his head at her with a smirk. He moved his hand and ruffled Claira's hair then plucked her off his shoulder. And yes, there was pouting from her little lips.

He held her above him, giving a mock pout, "Aww, darlin. Ya know I gotta do the heavy work fer yer momma."

"I know... Promise we'll play more when we get back?" There was a hint of a whine in her tiny soft voice.

"Did ya even have ta ask, sweet heart?" He gave her a wink before landing several kisses on her cheek as Claira started to giggle. As he started to blow on her cheek with a 'Pfffft' sound, he set her down to the wooden floor.

She clung onto his leg as he started to walk towards the anchor. Dakota made a mild groaning sound and his arms went out in the air. Alas, he was doing a zombie walk. Claira gave a tiny over dramatic gasp and started swatting at his leg.

"Oh noes! Eviiiil zombiiiiie!!" She giggled, though trying at a scared tone. She failed at it, but got a A+ for being so cute.

Jade smiled down at the two, her family, as they fiddle farted around. It was what they were best at. Being the ones she loved. Being ever so cute in every single thing they did. Some days Jade forgot why they were out there, that they were on the run. It didn't seem like it anymore. It seemed like what life should be - peaceful. She was with the ones she cared for the most, would do anything for, and she wouldn't trade this for anything. The only thing that was missing was Rhy. Oh how Jade missed her.

Dakota had let the anchor drop and the ship slowed, settling at one of the town's docks. Jade pranced down the stairs of the helm to the lower deck, where her family was. She was in piratey get-up (thanks to her daughter), so that wouldn't do in public. She wiggled her nose and she was in a fun little white thigh high sundress with a strawberry covered pattern, red pumps on the feet as well. Dakota did a once over with a wink and a grin.

Jade wasn't even going to try to get Claira out of her little pirate costume she had been wearing for ever now. It was impossible.

Dakota headed off first, helping the two ladies off after him. He even gave Jade a soft kiss before setting her to the dock. Jade's crimson lips gave him a big smile before their small moment was interrupted by a small giggle from Claira. Jade smooched her daughter's forehead as she laced a hand with her daughter's little hand. Claira's other hand found one of Dakota's as they started down the dock, towards the town. A fatherly smile found Ol' Kota as he looked from Jade then down to Claira. She beamed to her mother and Dakota. The two swag the seven year old in the air a few times, the little one giggling all the way.

The three found themselves greeted by friendly smiles from the town folk and a sign.
