Jade Ravenlock

Jade yawned, barely creeping up the steps of the villa. She didn't live there anymore, but she supposed she stumbled there out of old habit. In fact, no one lived there. It was empty. It seemed Gabe found his way out. Jade wondered how the inside looked as she found the spare key under the welcome mat. She looked around as she slid the key into the lock. It seemed Gave finished the villa's add-ons. Busy work. A small smile crossed her crimson lips weakly. She turned the key and pushed open the door.

As she moved inwards, her jade hues roamed. Everything was surreal, like she never lived there at all. Dust had started to settle in the time she was away and stirred as the door opened. Everything was as it was before, except for a few things. Slow, soft, tired steps brought her further in. Why was she here anyway? Ah, yes. To gather the things she had forgotten in her rush to get away. There was a soft creek as the kitchen table leaned to one side on its own as it often did. Still broken. A bitter sweet smile crossed her face as she thought of how it gotten that way. She tilted her head as she looked down the hallway that led to her former bedroom. All the pictures that she had at one time hanging on the walls now littered the floor in bits of glass and frames. Try to destroy the memories she held dear. Clever. Another weak smile. Jade did not grow angry, she couldn't. She wasn't attached to him anymore nor had a need to waste energy and emotions on him any longer. She was just glad he had a way to release his anger he had for her. Poor photos though. Not their fault. Jade snapped and in the quiet darkness the pictures rewound in time, frames and glass fixed themselves and found themselves back onto the walls where they came from.

A hand trailed on the wall of the hallway as she gingerly moved down the hall. She would take the pictures before she left. Jade flipped on a light here and there, knowing what sometimes lurks in the shadows. He would understand. He needed not to ask questions. She made a face as she thought, coming upon the bedroom door. Oddly, it was shut. It was never shut. Her dainty little hand curled around the doorknob, lightly pushing it open. Her jade hues grew wide at the sight before her. This was why she came, to see the damage she caused. Everything in the bedroom was destroyed. Catchy little profanities lined the walls in spray paint. It brought a smile to her face yet again. Creative. Shreaded remains of the clothes she didn't collect were tossed around. Poor clothes, they didn't do anything wrong. She took in a glimps of a pair of red heels sticking from a wall. Except for those. Those hurt like hell.

There was a lopsided smile that flickered on her features as she turned around and slowly walked out and away of the room. It wasn't her problem, it wasn't her problem anymore. She shut the door behind her, plucking photos framed off the hallway walls left and right. She tucked them under her arms as she flipped off the light switches. The villa grew dark and bleek again and he didn't come from the shadows. A good sign. Jade made her way to the part of the villa that was just added on. It smelled new and fresh, like plaster and oak. The walls were stark white, nothing on them and clean. The floors were wood... cold. But there was a peice of paper on the floor near the door frame. She kneeled to pick it up. Jade scanned the paper, reading the words: "This is to you, you stupid bitch. I hate you. You are nothing to me, f*cking blood sucker." A grin spread across her face as she let the paper fall from her hands, back to the floor. It forced a laugh from her. The light noise of it bounced from the walls and entered eack empty nook and cranny. The rooms were filled... with sound. The laughter faded and she stepped away. Through the villa and out the door.

She shut the door behind her and walked down the porch. Not to look back. Not to look at the past. That was her past and forward was her future. It held better promises then it ever did before. She climbed the steps to her room at the inn, sliding the key in that lock and made her way inside, shutting the door behind her. Jade set the pictures on her dresser... and shut off all the lights, waiting.
