Now, a sorority was not the first place Alex thought of wandering. In fact, it was the last place he ever considered dropping off at, even though there was a certainty that most would consider finding him there over any other location on the face of the earth.

Maybe not now, but low-and-behold?

He had heard from both word of mouth and general survey of it's location, and wound up standing before it with a sense of fear. Personally, for himself, but various lapsing thoughts revealed only to himself that it was this particular encounter. Lain already briefed him on the small conversation they shared. And while he saw Jade just yesterday, he was too tied up to try and mingle with her verbally.

Then he couldn't find her, again. Such was the luck?

Rapping gently upon the surface of where he hoped she'd be, he'd swear he'd feel his heart literally throwing itself from his chest. If he only shared that type of anatomy. It was one of those times he actually wished he had, so as to prevent himself from being filled with pent-up anxiety.

"Mommy! Mooooommy! Wake up! I heard a' knockin!" Claira was shaking her mother.

"Five mo' minutes! I dun wanna go ta skoo!" Jade groaned, flipping over. She was getting herself lost in those covers again.

"School? No! Mommy, get up! It might be that boy! Tristy!" Shake shake.

"Huh?! I'm up!" She jolted up and bounced out of bed, carrying her daughter with her, "What are ya doin up?" She set her down and ran into the bathroom with a change of clothes.

"I heard the knock at the door. I was alseep before that..." The little girl followed her mother into the bathroom, "Promise!"

"Oooh, so yer hearin's gettin better," a soft smile found those crimson lips, "That's my baby. Mind lookin out the window ta see who it is?" She clothed Etc. herself and plopped a toothbrush in her mouth.

"Mmmmk!" The little one skipped to the window, "Erm, it's a boy... But he's tall."

"Meally?" muffled toothbrushing speak.
"Mmmhmmmm... Reeeeeeally tall," Nod nod, "And has purple hair... like Ryo... only lighter. He looks familar..."
Jade blinked and moved over to the window, peeeeering out. Cue spit o' the toothpaste to the window pane, "Alex?!"
"Ewwww..." Pause, "Yea! Him!"

Faster than you can say "Hey, that toothbrush is still in your mouth ...and gross you didn't clean off the window" Jade was out of the bathroom and down the stairs. The mini was chasing after her wildly. Jade rounded a corner and ran into the door itself. A resounding 'THUD' could be heard. The mini winced. Jade pulled herself up and whipped open the door with a few blinks. Her jade hues traveled uuuuup to Alex, another blink. Pay no mind at her disarray of black locks in loosely braided pigtails, pay no mind.

"Ralex?" she blinked at her own words, quickly pulling the toothbrush out.

Oh, he's paying mind. If humored a great deal by Jade's appearance. Which thankfully off-set the sweaty palms, the wiggling of his toes, and other subtle shifts in his posture to keep the anxiety from bursting within. He was always so used to her being done up, generally prettied up a great deal. So, while it was not abnormal for him to come across women who were fresh from bed, Jade was not amongst those he ever considered.

Baffled at her appearance, his gaze drifted to one side so as to prevent from embarrassing himself, or her, in greeting. "Oh, uh? Hey, Jade. Did I? wake you?"

Between the diverted gaze, and the helpless of the task by glancing to the toothbrush in hand, he wasn't sure if now was the best time to try and amend conflicts. Cold feet talking, bro. Stay put, he'd tell himself within his mind as he glanced past her, peering inside in inspection to see if she was alone. He had caught the brief noises of a little girl, whom, he assumed was Claira going about prior to the door being opened by the Zilla herself. Despite the notion of fear, he was quite impressed with his easy smile that he allowed her. It had certainly been some time since he saw her face to face.

"Sorry for disturbing you at a such an hour. I was hoping, though, I could talk to you for a little bit?" Again, his gaze drifted for the insides before returning to her. His tone was soft, almost hushed whispers, for the planning that went into this task was lost on himself in a fit of nerves. He cleared his throat gently before managing to continue, "It's usually really hard to catch you alone, so?I thought I'd drop by and see."

"Wake me up? Er..." Jade looked around a moment, "Nah.. Come in, hun."

She moved to allow him in. A blink at the toothbrush in her hand. Her hand went up to wipe the sides of her mouth before she wiggled her nose. A hair brush poofed into the toothbrush's place. Jade looked up at his face and his doe eyed bewilderment, none the less from her looks. Okay, so she did just get up. A girl could get lazy. She pursed her crimson lips up at him, pulling the ponytail holders out of her hair. He hadn't ever seen her this way, so... at home.

"Yea, we can talk..." she trailed off as she started to brush her hair. Those jade hues landed on her daughter, ".... Alone."

Claira's little brose rose at that.

"Sweetie, why don't you go wake up Auntie Ly and ask to play with her tape recorder. Sing a song for me, won't cha?" A soft smile was forming as she looked over her shoulder.

"The tape recorder? Reallyyyy?!"
"Mmhmm."
"Awesome!" She had clearly been spending too much time with her Auntie Rhy. A little hand waved at Alex, "Goodbye Mister Tall Purple Haired boy named Alex that I knew a while back... I think."

With that, Claira ran off. Her thunderous steps could be heard going to the basement far after she was out of sight around a corner. Jade looked back to Lex with a shrug and a sheepish smile.

"Heh, kids," she moved to sit on the edge of a couch arm. Jade tilted her head for him to follow and shut the door. "So..." she attempted at a calm, casual tone, "What's up?"

And the brush went through her black locks again.

He watched for several seconds as Claira left before speaking, clearing his throat gently to savor a few extra seconds to be sure he had his words correctly. "Yeah, kids? They can be a riot," he added with his own brief smile, well aware of their ups and downs.

He hesitated before crossing the threshold as per her notion, moving to close the door once inside. Kicking his ever-usual audibly squeaky sneakers off at the door, his eyes lifted to observe the surroundings. He was uncertain if something unexpected was supposed to crash into him, or suddenly plummet into some pit of slime. These things were not uncommon in his every day routine. Well, usually?

"Well," he began, moving to cross the room towards Jade. While his steps held no indication of uncertainty, his eyes certainly had, avoiding to shoot for contact until the gap between them collapsed, leaving him with nothing but to look at her. "I caught glimpse of you and Lain having a talk? Something about? what happened?" He motioned with a hand as he spoke, rolling it before him to allow her to fill in the blanks of what that communication was fully concerning between she and the Lainbat. It wasn't entirely true, since Lain requested to know if she should handle the situation, or not. But it felt a lot easier to word it as such. "And I figured, 'Well, if she's going to talk to Jade, I might as well, too.' So?" Smiling weakly, "Here I am."

Since he opted to remain standing, keep himself occupied by other stretches of the imagination, his lean shifted from one leg to the other, hands stashing away within otherwise small pockets. To the point that only the tips of any digit were capable of plummeting within. It left his hands fidgety, and announced his anxiety over the situation. "I was just curious, because Lain told me that you two worked through 'What happened'. Tell me?

"What happened between us all, anyway?"

There was a slight almost unnoticeable grimace. Yep, she knew this was coming. A sigh was let out as she looked to her left, adverting her gaze to a picture of the girls on the wall, "Ya know. This and that." A light shrug, "Lain and I came to the agreement that we all were just trying to protect friends. And it is true, we all were. Too bad we ended up hating each other for that time because of it. We all thought strongly... and we all don't back down either."

Her feet hung over the floor. She lightly kicked here and there as she looked back to him finally. One of Jade's hands settled at a hole in the knee of her jeans and she began to fiddle around, nervously. She hadn't spoken to him this much in... Gods knows when. Or well, at least politely. She started to chew on her lower lip, tongue ring clicking against her teeth.

Another shrug followed her nervous actions, "Well, I guess that's all that happened. It was so long ago that I can't remember what it was all about... I'm just glad that we're startin ta patch things up, ya know? I missed ya guys 'round... talkin an' stuff..."

With several brief scoots, he was edging closer to the couch Jade was occupying. "So, wait. You're kidding, right? This whole thing is from? stubbornness on both parties?" He asked, clearly astonished. Sure, he knew better than anybody that when it came to a situation, he was the last one to back down from it. And grudges were like diamonds to him. Forever. His posture slouched, shoulders slumping as Alex turned his gaze to the side opposite of Jade's.

That wasn't what he was hoping for as a response? things were already difficult.

"I don't remember, either. I mean, I know we had a fuss about Yami-- and all that went on along that. But?" trailing off, his gaze moved to try and meet hers. It took him several moments to conjure words in his hesitation. "I figured we were better than that as friends, and all. Even if we're not bound by blood, or through some pact," motioning around them as he says so. "I just? considered you more like a sister than a mere friend. Or, well? you know. I'm not very good with words, ever? I think you get what I mean?" An obvious question of hopeful understanding rather than a statement.

Shrugging, he took the few last steps to lower himself onto that piece of furniture with a small bounce, sighing in frustration. This had become a real problem, and he was already short on things to consider to help relieve the tension. A last glance was given to Jade before he opted for the floor to occupy his line of sight. "I had a lengthy discussion about this with Lain a few weeks ago. Well, initially because she was so hell bent on arguing and trashing you. While I don't precisely follow those rules, I wanted to try and make an understanding about this whole thing. See where we were, and where it was going to lead," he tacked on stoically. "I was? worried, I guess, that if something wasn't done and soon, we'd be stuck in this state between everybody. Not something we all would like, I don't think?"
