"Stays in Louisiana," Jade promised Rhy. Well, at least she'd only hope.

The two had told their husbands that they were embarking on a girls weekend retreat to destress and pal around. But the truth of the matter was something they'd dare not tell their men. Really, they shouldn't even be going, but Jade insisted.
They were going to Fangsta, to see Eric. Why? Jade was worried about current ongoings with her pregnancy and she wanted answers. But they weren't questions any old doctor could answer. It was a supernatural thing. A former vampire thing. Plus, Eric wanted to see her before she had the baby at any rate. Two birds with one stone.

Rhy was appalled. She had never ever lied to Dean - ever ever. Now her best friend. sister, was dragging her into something she didn't quite understand. But she would go because she didn't trust the low-life vampires Jade came from. She'd been through too much with her. She'd already lost her once; she was not going to again. Rhy juse hoped they could get answers and get out, but really she just wished Jade would just stay home.

Rhy tapped her feel lightly as Jade talked on the phone. She took to pacing, then sat at the edge of Jade and Dakota's bed.

"Eric, it's Jade." "I'm... fine. I just need to... ask ya somethin'." "Oh shut up, it's somethin'... personal. About the pregnancy." "No no, I can't really... talk about it. I need ta talk to ya in person." "Soon, perhaps tonight?" "That's great. Oh, Eric?" "I'm bringin' a friend." "She's my best friend, my sister. Rhy. She hasta come." "Because I need support, an' she wants ta keep me safe. I'ma lot more fragile than I usedta be." "I know, I know. Jus' keep Pam at the back, it's safer." "I'll see you in a while. Goodbye, Eric."

"I don't like him, J," Rhy piped up as Jade slipped her cell into her sweat pants' pocket, "And I don't like this."

"It'll only be a few hours. Plus, after we're done we can go ta that spa I told ye about," She said as she flopped down beside Rhy.

"I don't like that we're lying to our husbands," Rhy said softly down to Jade.

"We're not, persay. Jus' nae tellin' the whole truth. We're jus' edittin' a few minor details," Jade beamed.

"Big details," Rhy pouted.

"They'll never know. Our bags are packed, our reservations are booked. Everythin' will be peachy, sweetheart," She said as she lifted off the bed.

"It better be, or I'll kick your butt so hard after you have the baby!"

"Ooo, I have five months more ta wait fer your beatin'," She gave a sassy face as she waltzed over to the window.

The sun was just setting, and she had already awoken Eric from his slumber. She glided into her closet and looked at her new mommy clothing. She had already packed some of her fancier stuff just in case. Jade hadn't told Rhy that she might need them, or that she really didn't know what to expect. Jade was really keeping a lot of people in the blue on this trip. Now, what to wear this evening? Better, what could she walk out the door in that wouldn't concern anyone? Jade looked over her sun dresses and picked out a black knee length dress. It was made of soft cotton and a thick ruffley band above where her mommy belly started - right below her breasts.

She threw that on, then looked to her jewlery. Jade picked put some faux silver bangles, and a long silver chain holding a silver locket enscribbed with "J & D". She put in her diamond earrings, then looked at her face. Jade wasn't one for much make-up anymore, so eyeliner and mascara was it for her. The last touch was flip flops and she was done.

Jade came out of her walk in closet and looked to Rhy, "Is this good enough, yet usual me enough?"

Rhy pursed her lips, "J, why?"

"I... havta look nice fer Eric 'r he gets crabby," Jade said as she nodded.

"That's ridiculous. What about 'Kota? Do you care what he wants you to wear? Because, Frankly, I don't think he'd care, nor do I think he'd like it if you were concerned about what another guy thought about you," she said as she folded her arms across her chest.

Jade bit down on her lower lip, "I know, Rhy. But... I guess most humans don't understand."

"Oh don't gimme that crap, J!" She huffed as she stood, grabbing her bags.

"Shhhh..." She waved a hand at Rhy, "I'm being serious. It's a hierarchy thin'. In the olden times, you hadta show respect to the vampires older than you. The way you spoke, acted, dressed - everything. A lot of the new aged ones don't do that, which leads to trouble sometimes. Eric instilled that in me. I may talk smack to him, but I still show respect somehow. The way I dress is just how I show it."

"Oh..." Rhy gave Jade a blink, "I still think that it's not right." She looked over her jeans and t-shirt," I suppose this won't cut it?"

"It'll be fine. Eric will think that I hadn't told you... But did you bring anything..." She trailed off.

"Nicer? A few things, why?"

"Nothing... We should probably go 'fore it gets too late," Sigh, "Dakota!"

Thunks for steps hurried up the stairs. Dakota finally peeked in the door, "Yea, babe?"

"Could ye talk me bags ta the car fer me? We're ready."

"Yep."

He moved towards the two suitcases, swiped them in a big showy manly way, then stole a kiss from Jade. The girls laughed, then watched him exit the room.

"Thank you!" Jade yelled, before looking to Rhy, "Oh I love him."

Jade helped Rhy by taking her lightest bag, and they ambled down the stairs, out the front door, where they met Dakota outside in the driveway.

Rhy handed Dakota a bag, and he tried to stuff it in the backseat. Jade handed him Rhy's other one and he huffed, "Jade, baby, I think it's time to invest in a minivan."

Jade made a face, "Never." She took to petting her crimson mustang, "My baby."

"Well, yer 'baby' ain't got no room," he said as he finally stuffed the last bag in.

"We can manage!"
"We havta get one when the baby comes."
"But..."
"He's right, J."
"Oh alright! But we're selling yer truck!"
"Wait jus' a damn minute. Now, I love my truck."
"An' I love my mustang."
"You two cut it out!"

They both gave Rhy a 'deer in headlights' look. Claira wandered out, grinning at her parents. Soon there were hugs and kisses all around, even for Rhy - because she was family. Rhy and Jade had already kissed off her family before heading to Jade's. Rhy cried, only because she was lying. She put it off as it was because it was her first trip without Dean, Daniel, and Haley.

The besties got in the car and started off, with Dakota and claira waving them off. Rhy was driving. Yes, proving how much Jade trusted her. She was driving her baby. Jade had a little magic now for some reason during pregnancy, so at the nexus point she wiggled her nose and there they were in Louisiana.
