An allergic reaction. Good to bad in seconds. Critical condition.
She'd gone from ok, to terrible in the matter of a few seconds. Now, in Brian's arms, Charlotte wheezed, draped across him like a rag doll. If she could, she'd cry. If she could, she'd scream. If she could.......she'd BREATHE!
Brian looked to his wife once more quickly and noted it was going from bad to worse in a bad way, he prayed she had the sense to know where to go, as he reached into his pocket and produced his warp cudgel, and yelled to her. "Char, baby! You need to THINK where you want us to go, where can we get help! Think and take us there!" He pushed the relic into her hands, and clasped his over hers and prayed "Gods let us get this right!"
That wasn't, perhaps, the wisest thing for him to do, but you can't blame him. Her thoughts were everywhere...but mostly she concentrated on 'in, out. In, out.' Finally, her thoughts focused to the one person she believed could help her, for even she did not understand what was happening. Dr. Blud. Char gripped the warp cudgel as best she could.......focusing on Dr. Blud and the hospital.
In a moment they were in front of the RDI, the next they were in front of a hospital emergency entrance, as Brian bolted for the door, and literally leaped over a woman in a wheel chair on his way through, as he screamed aloud. "We need help, please. She can't breathe, and has fever, she can't breath. PLEASE!" He carried her straight to the nearest nurse station, shoving aside anyone in the way.
After several old ladies had been bowled over, a nurse at the counter finally looked up at Brian through half moon spectacles. "Can I help you?"
"Yes you can, just look at her. She can't breath, has fever, and can't move well and look at her skin!" His eyes were wide with concern as he looked to Charlotte and to the woman once more.
It was probably the most annoying thing Brian ever had to endure as the woman kept her cool and moved slowly over to the COMM. She lazily pressed the button, leaned over to the mic and spoke drolly. "Can we get emergency in here with a roller and a defib? Thank-you."
"Have a seat. They'll be here shortly." She sat back in her chair and began shuffling through papers. Thus, Brian was dismissed.
Brian knew medical terms, and knew how things worked. Still it pained him so badly to see the woman he loved in such distress. He looked to the woman, and back to Charlotte and prayed Charlotte was somehow breathing, the only thing he could ponder was prepping to go mouth to mouth with her, or perform CPR if it were needed. This killed him, as he held her and refused to move, his eyes stoned as he waited, and watched Charlotte.
Charlotte was now gripping Brian's shirt so tightly as she struggled to inhale, her knuckles were turning white. Her body shook as the fever began to take it's toll on her nervous system. "Br....B....Bri..an!" How utterly and completely heart wrenching to watch: Your wife...basically dying in your arms.
"Charlotte, baby! Please just hang on! Please don't give in! Fight it! PLEASE!" He held her closely, as she gripped him and tried to keep himself in check, but it killed him in so many ways. He never wanted to see her like this, and it ripped him wide open, as tears began to freely come. "gods, stay with me, please! Don't you leave us!"
