An allergic reaction. Good to bad in seconds. Critical condition.

She'd gone from ok, to terrible in the matter of a few seconds. Now, in Brian's arms, Charlotte wheezed, draped across him like a rag doll. If she could, she'd cry. If she could, she'd scream. If she could.......she'd BREATHE!

Brian looked to his wife once more quickly and noted it was going from bad to worse in a bad way, he prayed she had the sense to know where to go, as he reached into his pocket and produced his warp cudgel, and yelled to her. "Char, baby! You need to THINK where you want us to go, where can we get help! Think and take us there!" He pushed the relic into her hands, and clasped his over hers and prayed "Gods let us get this right!"

That wasn't, perhaps, the wisest thing for him to do, but you can't blame him. Her thoughts were everywhere...but mostly she concentrated on 'in, out. In, out.' Finally, her thoughts focused to the one person she believed could help her, for even she did not understand what was happening. Dr. Blud. Char gripped the warp cudgel as best she could.......focusing on Dr. Blud and the hospital.

In a moment they were in front of the RDI, the next they were in front of a hospital emergency entrance, as Brian bolted for the door, and literally leaped over a woman in a wheel chair on his way through, as he screamed aloud. "We need help, please. She can't breathe, and has fever, she can't breath. PLEASE!" He carried her straight to the nearest nurse station, shoving aside anyone in the way.

After several old ladies had been bowled over, a nurse at the counter finally looked up at Brian through half moon spectacles. "Can I help you?"

"Yes you can, just look at her. She can't breath, has fever, and can't move well and look at her skin!" His eyes were wide with concern as he looked to Charlotte and to the woman once more.

It was probably the most annoying thing Brian ever had to endure as the woman kept her cool and moved slowly over to the COMM. She lazily pressed the button, leaned over to the mic and spoke drolly. "Can we get emergency in here with a roller and a defib? Thank-you."
"Have a seat. They'll be here shortly." She sat back in her chair and began shuffling through papers. Thus, Brian was dismissed.

Brian knew medical terms, and knew how things worked. Still it pained him so badly to see the woman he loved in such distress. He looked to the woman, and back to Charlotte and prayed Charlotte was somehow breathing, the only thing he could ponder was prepping to go mouth to mouth with her, or perform CPR if it were needed. This killed him, as he held her and refused to move, his eyes stoned as he waited, and watched Charlotte.

Charlotte was now gripping Brian's shirt so tightly as she struggled to inhale, her knuckles were turning white. Her body shook as the fever began to take it's toll on her nervous system. "Br....B....Bri..an!" How utterly and completely heart wrenching to watch: Your wife...basically dying in your arms.

"Charlotte, baby! Please just hang on! Please don't give in! Fight it! PLEASE!" He held her closely, as she gripped him and tried to keep himself in check, but it killed him in so many ways. He never wanted to see her like this, and it ripped him wide open, as tears began to freely come. "gods, stay with me, please! Don't you leave us!"

So unlike the calmness of Debbie at the counter, a crew of doctors and nurses burst through the double doors with a rolling stretcher, IV stand, and defibrillator. The two head doctors, one ironically being Dr. Blud (who was on duty in ER tonight) barked out orders, commanding them to move faster! Blud's eyes widened upon seeing Charlotte and the man holding her. Obviously her husband.

Brian looked to the staff, as they burst from the door "She's here!" As he presented her to the staff. "Please, she can't breath, fever and a rash. I think it's an allergy! I don't know to what, she was taking meds!

Two residents literally ripped Charlotte from Brian's grasp and laid her none too gently onto the roller. They knew a bad allergic reaction when they saw one. Not a word was spoken to Brian as they shouted to one another and hooked Charlotte up to a heart monitor.

Brian watched as he calmed a bit seeing the staff take over. He knew Charlotte was in good hands, or at least, better than his in this scenario. Never before in his lifetime(s) has Brian been this scared, as he watched his wife, and newfound life ebb away before his eyes.

They began wheeling her back towards the double doors, still shouting things like "Imminent Cardiac Arrest!" and "Should we charge the defibrillator?" It wasn't a pretty sight. Blud bustled after them, barking orders, his white doctors smock billowing out behind him. He glanced over his shoulder at Brian. "Hurry up!" Obviously, he was to follow.

Brian didn't need to be told twice, as he ran after the Doctor and his staff. He knew the terms they were spewing, and made a mental note to purchase a AED unit, as soon as he could for the house in case anything were to happen, silently he prayed to whoever was listening offering all he had to give, if they would only allow his wife to live.

"Marcy! Prep ER 1, NOW!" Blud barked at a nearby nurse who hurried off in the opposite direction to get...whatever it was that Blud obviously needed in ER 1. By this point, Dr. Blud was irritated with his staff and took over wheeling Charlotte, nearly running down the halls. As scary as the man may be, he never gave up in a patient and was particularly fond of Charlotte. Skidding to a halt, he angled the rolling bed and passed through the door with the little sign which read, ER 1.

Brian's eyes were everywhere at once, the terms and words coming and going, as he knew this was far from good in any event, and of the ER was being prepped they were going to operate ASAP on her, he saw the Doctor take over, and slowed as to not be in the way, and came to stop at the doors to the ER, as the Doctor wheeled Charlotte through. Tears streaming down his face, as he prayed and watched still offering anything he had in this world or the next to just have her live through this.

Charlotte was crying, now....which was a stupid thing to start doing, because it made it almost impossible to breathe. She wanted Brian with her. The nurses told her that she had to calm down or it would just get worse.

An IV was plunged into her arm, fluid drip commenced, and other various monitors hooked up to her body. Blud raced to a cabinet and pulled out a little vial of insulin, filling a syringe with it. He motioned for one of the residents to retrieve Brian. Blud was scared. He'd never seen a patient react to the medication this way. If Charlotte wasn't going to make it, then he was going to make damn sure her husband was the last thing she saw.

Ushered in by the resident, Brian made his way to Charlotte's side, and watched her. His hand taking hers gently, as they worked on her, being careful to stay out of the way as he began to speak softly to her. "Baby, I'm here.. Just fight it.. Don't cry, please don't. I am with you, I will be with you. Just don't give up. No one want's you to give up!" His tear stained face looked to her, as the water in his eyes subsided. He needed to be strong for her, to try to anchor her. He wouldn't lose her without a fight, and he was ready to do anything in any world for her sake. His eyes lifted to the Doctor, and then to Charlotte once more. "I love you, baby.."

Blud strode back quickly to Charlotte's side and stuck the needle into her arm, sending the fluid into her body. Then, Charlotte's eyes widened and her grip on Brian?s hand tightened to near bone breaking, vice-like power. Now she couldn't breathe. Fear gripped her....and then..............black. The heart monitor showed major eradication and then, nothing.

"Flat line! Remove her shirt!"

"Give me the paddles, Jessie! Quickly!? Ian Blud rubbed the paddles together, waiting for the charge.

"Sir, you're going to have to leave now. I know they just brought you back... but-" A resident was speaking to Brian, trying to force him from the room.

"Stein, shut your mouth and let him stay. But sir, (indicating Brian) let go of her and stand back!"

Brian saw the reaction and wanted badly to yell out, he wanted to scream as loud as he could to bring her to her senses. When he heard "Flat line" he didn?t need to asked twice, as he kissed her hand and wrenched his free from it's grip, as he stepped back and complied and watched. That was all he could do. That hurt him more than any pain he had ever felt in his life. He loved this woman more than his own life, and here she was fighting to just remain here, and there was little he could do. He stepped back more, and remained watchful as anger raged within him.. For a brief moment, he felt it.. The call... That taunting voice.. Even though he had been sealed, he felt it. and heard it. "She will die, and it is your fault. Because you are weak!" ..Heard it in his head as he fought it off, and yelled aloud. "Baby! FIGHT IT! Gods baby come back to ME! I love you!" Tears once more came from his eyes, as he watched and openly cried. "gods hear me, I will give you whatever I am, all that I am, all that I have, take me instead, just please not her.."

"CLEAR!" Everyone stepped back as Blud pressed the paddles to Charlotte's chest which rose from the table as the electrical pulse jolted through her. The monitor still showed no sign of a beat. "160! Clear!" Again the electricity coursed through her, lifting her chest again. Still flat lined. "Amp it up to 180!"

"But Sir, I-"

"I said 180!!!" Blud screamed at the resident and pressed the paddles to her chest once more after the setting was changed. It surged through her?then?*beep beep beep...* It had worked. Blud straightened and tossed the paddles aside and looked to Brian. Charlotte was still far from in the clear, but it was at least safe enough for her husband to approach again. Then..........her lungs filled with air. She didn't open her eyes or respond; but she was alive and breathing at least.

Brian approached once more, as he heard the monitor beep once more, knowing her heart had once more begun to work on its own. Tear stained eyes watched his wife, as he moved beside her once more. He said nothing for a moment; he just watched her and softly stroked her head and took her hand into his. His emotions a whirlwind of chaos, but he was so happy that for the moment she appeared to no longer be in arrest. "Thank you, Doctor.?

?We need to get her moved into a more permanent room now that she's stabilized. You are her husband...Brian?? Ian Blud rechecked Charlotte's vitals and BP...everything seemed to be settling down enough for her to be moved upstairs. "There are a few things you should know. Would you kindly step into the hall?"

Brian blinked a few times, as the doctor spoke and softly answered. "I am, Doctor. Yes I am." He leaned and kissed her forehead gently and softly whispered for her not to give in, and he would see her soon. Then he left her with the residents, and stepped into the hallway for the Doctor, his hands wiping his eyes as he began to compose himself once more.

Ian crossed his arms over his chest and took up a lean against the wall. He watched Brian carefully as he wiped his tears. "You're different than what I pictured." He dropped his arms and held out his hand for Brian. "Ian Blud. I've been heading up Charlotte's treatments. Damn good thing I was here tonight."

Brian took the Doctor's hand with both of his and bowed deeply, as he replied. "Doctor Blud, thank you for all you have done, and thank you for being here tonight. I owe you so much." He then released the doctor's hand, and looked to him a moment. "I am... Different? Will she be alright? Was it a reaction?"

Soon after, Charlotte was wheeled out past the doctor and Brian, headed for a ward upstairs. She'd at least need to be monitored over night. Blud watched her go until she was out of sight, and then turned his gaze back on the woman's husband. "It was an allergic reaction to a new medication she agreed to test. And yes, it seems she will be fine, though, I'll be keeping her overnight and tomorrow night. Possibly even a third night. After this little scare, her body will be very susceptible to illness. She'll need to be monitored closely." Ian wasn't sure if he should confront Brian or not about his assessment of finding him different, but it irritated him. "May I ask you a question, Mr. Ravenlock?" His arms crossed once more.

Brian watched, as Charlotte was wheeled off and looked once more to the Doctor. He understood what was said in regards to her medical standings and knew observation was a must have, and was more than willing to make this hospital his home until she recovered and could come home. He nodded to the Doctor in reply, as he explained the illness situation in turn. "A question, Doctor? Of course, anything.? He eyed the doctor a tad warily, wondering what would be more pressing than his own wife at the moment, but he was sure the doctor had a good reason, so he awaited the question as he composed himself.

"I always assumed you were one of those men who didn't come with their wives because they didn't want to wait through the treatment. But after seeing your reaction tonight, I can see you care about your wife a great deal when the stake is high. Ian's eyes narrowed judgementally. "Why is it that this is the first time I've seen you?"

"You are right, I care about my wife a great deal, more so than I care about myself or anything else. She literally is my life. When she first became ill, she told no one. After a few weeks she had little choice and told me, when I pressed her. Before that, all she said is that "tests were needed", and little else. Since then she has come to see you, and never inquired me to go. I know how bad this was for her and I would have easily gone with her. Granted I should have forced the matter, and that is my fault. But I did not want to add anymore pressure to her.. We have a complicated life where we are from. I do not know if she has truly told you what it is we do or what we deal with on a daily basis, in addition to this. As far as the last three days or so, I was caring for a friend of hers. I know I should have been here, and I should have pressed the matter. But she noted it was going decently, and she had hopes." He sighed. "I know it makes me look bad, but that is neither here nor there. I would die for my wife and give anything, I have inside and out to save her. That is how I feel..."

Ian was silent for a time, but decided to believe the man. From his gatherings, he'd known Charlotte to be a proud woman. She probably wouldn't have asked her husband to come with her. "What's done is done. You care for her and that is all that matters."

A solemn nod was offered in reply, as Brian looked to the Doctor once more. "Yes I do care for her. So where does she stand?"

"That is difficult to say. Treatments have been going well. She seems to be responding, though, Charlotte wanted it to be at a quicker pace. So, I tried her on this new medication." He ran a hand through his salt and pepper hair, sighing a bit. "The trouble is, when things like this happen, a persons body tends to shut down and not react to anymore treatment. It could go either way right now."

"A quicker pace??" He sighed softly and looked down a bit. "Damn it.. I understand, thank you for doing what you can. Are there any other type of treatments, we can look at?"

?If the chemo quits working...she may be eligible for a bone marrow transplant, but from what she told me, she has no living relative. Finding a suitable donor might prove difficult."

His voice grew soft, as he pondered what the Doctor said. "Bone Marrow... She and I talked of that.. She has no relatives, but what of.. Doctor has she told for everything about her?"

"Well, what do you know?."

Charlotte Ravenlock

"Doctor, what you and I discuss goes no where.. I need your word on this, please? I think it may be relevant to her. I do not know how much of this realm you are truly familiar with, or not. But the body she has, it not hers. It never was. She is possessing it.. How I do not know, I hardly have the details. But she confirmed it, as has another very high leveled mage back home. I do not know if the previous owner of her body, has any relatives, but if they somehow do.. Would that give us a shot?" He hated to do that do Charlotte, but he had little else to go on. Between what Kairee stated, and what the doctor was now telling him, something needed to be done ASAP.

Ian nearly laughed, trying to keep a straight face. "Are you serious?"

He sighed. "Doctor, what realm or planet is this?"

"No, I meant...you think Renee' has any family left? Man, Charlotte's cult was the biggest thing around here. All their family is dead. That cult outlived 'em all. Rumor has it you killed Renee' last living brother." Ian was literally smirking, he couldn't help it. "And as for where you are, this is Bethesda. Charlotte grew up here...... Though, this hospital is fairly new. Just went up a few months ago. Its the only facility with elctricity." Kinda gettin' off track. Bethesda was proud of its newest addition and its staff. Modern Medicine was so foreign and had saved so many lives since coming to Bethesda.

Brian looked at the Doctor, and sincerely wanted to slam his ass square through the wall, and show him how business was handled back in Rhy'din.. But he was not Renna, and this was not Rhy'din so back to trying to be tactful it was.. "Alright, at least now I am caught up. Actually, I didn't kill him. The mother of my daugh.. Our daughter, delivered the death blow. So this is her home.. I wonder how she was getting to and from Rhy'din without Magical assistance then... She was warned against using magic again, or it would loosen her grip on her body.. So this is modern to you, eh?" A serious trip to Ragol was the first thing Brian thought of since, this was back water to what they had back on Ragol medically speaking.. "So no relatives, and hard to find a donor.. Alright.." He frowned as this was not looking good. He pondered speaking to Kairee once more, and maybe ask Misty to use the Fur'za to head to Ragol.. So many things on his mind, it made his head hurt.

"In any case, I've ordered a private room so that you both are not bothered. Cuz let me tell you, there are plenty of people who?d like to meet the man Charlotte Cross married. The other half...well....they'd likely kill you. They don't exactly agree with what she did to Renee'." Wow, even after all these decades...people still talked about the cult. No wonder Charlotte didn't want to bring Brian with her.

"I see.. Well this makes things interesting to say the least. Looks like I'll need to grab a few things from home, in case anyone comes calling. I do not know what happened before I met her, but I know she was hardly an angel. Then again, I kill people for a living, so I must be just as bad.. Doc, I want to thank you for being up front about this. She must trust you in order to come back to a place where she is possibly disliked, and feels threatened in. Still all that aside, she is my wife and I will not lose her to some damned Illness, or the locals. I love her, and no matter what she once did.. That fact will not change."

Ian smiled in approval and pushed himself from his lean on the wall, dropping his arms to his sides. "I'll need to get some paperwork ready for you. When you return, just check with the circulation desk to find out what room your wife is in. If she's stable enough....you may be in for your first experience with one of her chemo treatments."

"I understand doctor, and once again. Thank you."

"No need to thank me. Its what I do."

Brian laughed lightly. "That's something I say at home?I will be back shortly, and I will check in."

Ian nodded and reached for a pen in his pocket, then started off down the hall.

Brian in turn, made his way the same way he came in, so he could get outside, and warp back home as quickly as he could. He didn't know how much of a scene me might cause, since he was carrying his mail shirt and still had his sword strapped to his side. This was a new place indeed, and he wanted to make sure all went well for his Wife's sake. Still it also allowed for a look into what this place was really like, but that would wait. Charlotte, always came first.

About an hour after leaving the hospital, Brian made his way back into the doors of the ER. Spectacled blue eyes glanced about a bit in the ER as most strangers were now considered possible threats. His clothing as modern as he could make it, for the realm. Black BDU pants,and boots. His long sleeved turtleneck commando type shirt, and of course his antique spectacles. He carried two small duffle bags, one with Char's belongings, and one with his. His sword also wrapped and tied to a bag, and his guns and belt tucked neatly inside, as he approached the desk.

"I am here to check in for Charlotte Ravenlock's room, please?"

Being as pleasant as he possibly can. The registrar, Debbie just looked up at him with an expression that said, 'you again?'. After ignoring him and shuffling some more papers, Debbie thrust a clipboard with a pen attatched to it to Brian. "Here, make sure you fill this out and give it to the nurse on floor four after seeing your wife." Her nasaly voice was terrible annoying. "Take the elevator to floor four (duh) and your wife will be in room 208. Thank-youhaveagoodnightseeyalater." as she went back to shuffling papers.

"Understood, Ma'am and thank you, youhaveagoodnightseeyalatertoo."

And off Brian went towards the elevator, as he eyed the paper work a bit. In the elevator he went, and up it went, as he waited and eyed the paperwork once more. Once he got off on the fourth floor, he found the room with little trouble and made his way quietly inside, as he set the bags down, and walked towards Charlotte.

She was out cold, asleep, brown hair arranged neatly on her shoulders and the pillow. The heart monitor blipped every few seconds, and the IV hooked up to her arm drip-dropped slowly. Brian smiled faintly, as he leaned and kissed her head gently and then began to arrange her things, as he opened the bags and set her clothing into a near dresser, and pulled out his jacket and hung it on a near chair. His sword was propped next to the dressed and hidden a bit, as he arranged his clothing in turn and began to work on the clip board.

Luckily, he wouldn't have to tackle the paperwork just yet. Her eyelids fluttered open; she blinked a few times and SLOWLY turned her head to find..........Brian! But, where were they?

"Baby? Ah you're awake.. You brought us here.. You brought us home."

As he tossed the clip board, and moved to her bed side, and took to a knee, smiling lovingly as he did so. She moaned, her eyes drifting to half mast. Her head was pounding as she whispered "Wha-happened?"

Brian replied softly. "You had an allergic reaction to your new meds.. Doctor Blud, was here and he and his staff brought you back. It's okay now, you just rest."

"Brought me back?!" as she struggled to sit up, but not succeeding. "What happened?" she asked again because she knew he hadn't answered her with the WHOLE truth.

"Baby, you flat lined.. Your heart, it stopped. For a few moments, they had to shock you back to life lterally. Whatever you took sent you into cardiac arrest."

"But I'm ok?" Her voice cracked with the sudden onsought of tears. They dripped down her cheeks as she looked up a Brian. As his hand lifted, as he gently wiped her tears away. "Yes, you are. You just need to rest.. I didn't realize the level of moderness here. Had I known.. Well I am sorry, I should have been more involved. But you will be alright. You did good, you fought back."

Charlotte just cried. She hadn't cried in a while. Not like this."I'm tired, Brian. I'm tired of fighting a losing battle." His heart tore anew, as he watched his wife cry like that.. He stroked her hair softly, and kissed her cheek and spoke softly once more. "I know it is hard.. I know you are tired.. But please, don't give in.. I am here for you, I will always be here. This may look like a loosing battle, but you wont fight it alone. Not anymore. I will stand with you, in whatever may come.. Just dont give in, and dont ever think you are alone."

The crying was ceased then, save for a few sniffles here and there. It took too much effort to cry. IV'd hand was raised then to caress her husbands cheek softly, as she blinked at him in an exhausted fashion. "For you. I live for you, lover. I won't give up."

"And I live you for you my dear. Don't you ever forget that. You are my world, and whatever comes at you, comes at me as well. I am just glad you are awake again. That was quite the scare, I must admit. But it is past now. How do you feel?"

"Like I got trampled by a horse." as she moaned aloud. Brian smiled warmly and replied "That's a good sign, I expect. Doctor Blud said you needed to rest, he talked about Chemo."She nearly started crying again. "I can't handle that again. Not tonight. Not when I already feel like crap!"

"Not tonight, love. Tonight you rest. When you feel better and up to it.
It's alright, and I am not leaving this place till you do. Talk about your on the spot honey moons." A smile and wink followed , as he tried to lighten her mood.

She did laugh and painfully moved her body to the side some. "If this is our honeymoon, we could at least be in the same bed. Hold me." It was more of a plea; she needed him to keep her safe. She was terrified. Brian did the best he could, as he moved next to her, wrapping his arms around her, and holding her closely. A warm kiss placed upon her cheek, as he lay with her.

"I wont leave you, ever... I love you. No matter what may come. i will always love you. Please do not ever forget that."Char spooned herself against him and nodded. "I won't forget it. I promise. I love you, too."

"I know you won't." As he held her closely, the rest of the world forgotten, as he lay with his wife. The woman who meant more to him than anything, and a woman he would protect to no end. he had no idea of this world, no idea of it's people, no idea of what she had done. But he knew he loved enough to endure anything.

She adjusted her head so that she could look into his eyes and still be rather comfy. "Is there anything in particular you want to talk about?" as she knew him well enough to know when something was on his mind.

Brian answered softly. "I was wondering about the level of medical care here.. I mean I know you had to have an idea we could have taken you somewhere else, yet you chose to come here. And how did you manage to get here sans magic?"

Charlotte replied. "Until this place was built, the skills of the people were archaic. We have some healers...but even then its only surface healing. Bones and skin and such. The intricasies of the body weren't well known and were mostly herbalists. As for why I picked this place....'m not sure. Someone suggested it I think."

Brian nodded softly, as he listened to her. "Some else suggested it? Do you recall who?"

Yes, she did. But her answer was simply. "No."

"Baby... Please.. Look the doctor told me in plain terms to expect some trouble.. I came loaded for bare. I need to know what is going on, so I can protect you. Why come here, when I work on a ship? I told you about other worlds.. I.. I just think something doesn't feel right. Also why test a new medicine?"He was concerned indeed, and after this evening felt he had a right to know at least a bit.

Charlotte frowned a bit and replied softly. "Ian shouldn't.....-sigh-....What did he tell you?"

"He told me, about your cult.. About how half the people here wanna meet me, the other half may wanna kill me, and he thinks it was I who killed damien, and we know it was Renna. Ya see, I told him about your body.. I didnt think we were in your home realm, I thoght we were in Rhy'din somewhere. It all went from there."As he calmly waited for a reply.

"I didn't tell him anything about Damien. Jathara must've mentioned something..." Oops Did she just say that outloud?

"Jathara? The one who brought you to Rhy'din, when we fought Damien?"

"My brother."

"You still have contact? Something isn't... Baby, something isn't right here. Your brother?" All he could do was sigh a bit and listen to her.

"He's my brother. I didn't want you knowing about him because I knew you wouldn't trust him."

"I am confused.." as he shook his head a moment, and tried to make sense of what he was taking in.

"And yes, Jathara is the one who recommended this place...and has been providing the means for me to get here."

"The man who held you prisoner, and brought you back to us, suggested this back water place, and has been transporting you. And he is your brother?"

Charlotte frowned at that statement.

"I am just asking, baby. I am not judging."

"So what doesn't feel right?" Charlotte asked meekly.

"Why bring you back? Why an untested medicine? Why not go to an advanced realm.. Why did the doctor look at me like I was crazy at first, and so non chalant about people coming for me. Why did they say I was the one who slew Damien? I.. I just don't know.. I mean here I am aboard a ship at times, and you are coming to a newly modernized hospital that is equal to earthen standards... If this is what you want and you trust it, I am here for you."

Charlotte startrd from the beginning of his questions. "Jathara broke off from the cult when Damien began punishing me the second day. He brought me back to save me....and he was beaten for trying the first time. I tried the new medicine because I am impatient."

"Alright.. It was a gamble that almost cost you, your life. I dont want to argue.. I am just worried. This is all new to me." As he smiled faintly to her and continued "Then again, I cant judge anyone's family without looking at mine."

Charlotte responded with. "You forget that I don't even know what the hell a ship is! Brian, I don't know how to work our damn toaster. I'm sorry that I thought this was the best thing for me. And as for the whole killing damien, I dunno. Like I said, Jathara must've said something about you doing it. I didn't."

"I know.. I know.. But you could have said something, about the level of care, or where you were going.. Granted i should have asked as well.. i dont care who says what, or who comes. I will deal with that when it hits the fan. All I care about is you."

"I'm sorry, and thank-you for understanding. If you have any other ideas for places to take me, I will go."

Brian nodded answered. "I will contact Misty, maybe she would have an idea, and also Toby. If nothing pans out with them, I.. I'll take you back to Ragol m'self. Or even Vana'diel, maybe Jes can think of something. Till then, since you trust this place, we will stay here and I will stand with you. I just want you safe.. I dont care about myself. Just you."

She snuggled to him, nuzzling his neck with her nose. "I love you." as Brian plated a soft kiss on that rather cute nose. "An I love you sweetheart and when you get better, I want to take you home.. To my real home.. I want you to see the highlands in all their splendor."

She smiled longingly "I want to visit there too. It sounds beautiful." as beat down the urge to say, 'if I get better'.

"It is.. Green hills as far as the eyes can see, rustic villages and castles nestled in the small of a valley, fresh streams to bathe and play in, such a view of the stars, that one could reach out and swear they were within reach.. It's.. It's something to exerience.."

"Mmm, I want to go now."

"When we get a diagnosis, and when you get rested up. I promise we will go. You can see the place where i was raised, that no one else has."

Then came an odd question and completely out of the blue. "Are you ever sad that you didn't marry Katharine?"

Brian shook his head softly. "Not in the least.. I have no regrets in regards to her. It was painful to watch her marry, and have her children. But I know that happened, because I was not the one for her. I was saved for you, and you alone. She will always be family, but you are my wife. And I will never regret that, ever."

A grin at that as she captured his lips and kissed him deeply. "Even if all I am is trouble?"

The kiss was returned, with so much love. A soft nip of her lower lip, as he smiled. "You are worth any price and I mean any, sides.. You were trouble the day I met you, and I still loved you." As he chuckled.

"Hehehehe." As a grin was given and his lips captured again. As Brian grinned through the kiss, and held her closely.

"Remember the first day we had real physical contact? You told me your lap was more comfortable than the bartop. I thought you were kidding."
Undignifiedhonor: "An' then before you left, you pulled me into your lap. What was it that you said to me? I can't remember...but it was cute."

"That's right, I did.. Now what did I say...." As he pondered awful hard on that one, as so much has happened since then. "Damn it. I know it was something sly.. I know it."

Her hand had conveniently found its way inside his shirt by this point, and warm fingers were trailing their way up his stomach. "Yes, you were very sly in the beginning stages. Neither of us quite knew what the other thought."

Brian couldnt help but shiver, at her very touch.. The things this woman did do him, if only she truly knew. Muscles along his stomach tense, and contract as he replied. "Y.. Yes we were, it was quite the game of chess.. Or cat and mouse... I knew you were special, there was no doubt, and I knew I wanted to be near to you."

"I thought you were pretty damn good looking first time I laid eyes on you. You were talkin' to some girl. I got jealous." As her palm now against his taught stomach, rubbing it gently.

"I thought you were beautiful, and trouble to boot.. I was more than happy to have the chance to speak with you after the pudding incident, I was quite happy.. Granted I didnt show it." A twitch of muscle once more, as he felt her touch.. His hand caressing the nape of her neck softly.

"No, you....you were very mysterious. I was never sure what was going on in your mind." Then she fought back a yawn and closed her eyes, snuggling her head against his chest.

"As were you my dear, especially after that business with the german.. But that all brought us together. I think however, we need to rest love. You need your strength.."

A murmured reply was all she offered. "German? Hmmnn? I don't nee......." There wasn't much else she could do. After fighting sleep for so long, it finally decides to not take no for an answer.

"Softly Brian spoke. "That's it lover, drift to sleep.. We can talk in the morning.. I love you." A soft kiss was planted upon her lips, as he slid gently from the bed. Her hand in turn reached out, clutching his shirt.

"I love you." Then her grip was released, her hand dropped back onto the bed. She was asleep,finally. Brian then grabbed the clip board and went to work once more, a loving eye on his wife as he did so.

Brian spent the morning at Charlotte's bedside. The paperwork was wrapped up and the staff very helpful. Sleep hardly came, but that didn't matter much to him. So long as he could keep watch on her everything would be fine. Leaning back in the rocking chair next to her bed, his head turned as he just watched her sleep and waited for the next visit from the Nurse or Doctor Blud.

The news had reached Jathara rather quickly, via Ian, about Charlotte's accident. Having just now been able to get to the hospital, Jathara waited impatiently while the elevator rose steadily to floor four. What Ian had failed to mention, however, was the presence of Charlotte's husband, Brian. Having not counted on anyone else being in the room, upon arriving to the door he opened it and strode to the middle of the room. At the sight of Brian however, Jathara would have given anything for the ground to open up and swallow him.

Hearing the steps come down the hall and enter the room, Brian reached for his sword. He knew those were not the same steps he had been listening to all morning, and when the sounds came into the room, he decided no chances were to be taken. In a quick motion the sword was unwrapped, and the blade drawn as he stood to his feet and faced the possible enemy.

"Look I don't know who you are, but you picked the wrong room. You need to leave no-" Brian was cut off literally by the sight of the man before him. The blade held low, as he eyed the man warily once more. "Wait.. I have seen you? You are.. Jathara? Yes?" He relaxed a bit, however his sword was not lowered at the moment as he waited for a reply.

Jathara stepped back in surprise at the sword, but straightend his shoulders and stuck out his chest. He was a big man. Nearing 6' 5", the robed mage stepped forward with his hands raised. "That's me. Mind putting that thing down before I hurt you?"

"I'll be the judge of who get's hurt around here, I don't care who the hell you are." While Jathara may have been a big boy, that did little for Brian. In any event, there was no way he was gonna walk away from this, if it all went south. The sword lowered, a bit bit stayed where it was as Brian remained where he was. His eyes narrowed, as he coldly watched Jathara. "So how do I know you are really Jathara, and not one of Damien's people?"

The big man laughed. A belly laugh...nearly loud enough to wake the almost forgotten Charlotte. "Damien had six followers. One is right here, the other is layin' on a bed right over there not doin' too hot. Everyone else in this place hated Damien. He ain't got no more followers. Obviously, he and the rest are dead. But you knew that."

Brian shook his head and replied. "I dont know anything, that's the trouble.. I dont know what you all did, or why I was told to possibly expect trouble, or who suggested my wife come to a back watered hospital when she can go off world for care.. All I hear about is the Cult, and how powerful they were and how I killed some guy I didnt kill.."

Brian sheathed the blade, and left it in his hand. His eyes watched Jathara once more..:: "Look, I dont know up from down, but I know you brought her back to us.. For that I thank you.."

Jathara walked past him then, and over to Charlotte's bedside. His large hand brushed over hers, then he drew back. So difficult. Renee' had been his girlfriend before Charlotte overtook her. There were many times he had to remind himself that the real Renee' was gone.:: "She didn't tell me that you were wed." ::murmured::

Brian simply watched and waited, and gauged the big man's response, and set the sword down against the seat. "I don't think, she really had a chance.. It's been rather hectic. Then again, she never told me you were taking her between the realms, either."

"She doesn't tell me alot of things. You shouldn't worry about me helping her. If she were anymore proud, even I couldn't have persuaded her to take my help."

"It isn't you that worries me, it's her being back here.. Why do so many people dislike her? What was it that you all did?"

Jathara replied. "Yes and no. Blood feuds continue for decades. Those who didn't mind what we did during our...reign of sorts, changed their minds after the murder of Renee'. " Jathara turned to face Brian, though, his gaze was averted to the ground. "That is something you should ask...your wife. Since leaving the Cult, I do not speak of its past."

"I see.. So do the deed and not speak of it.. Things are the same in any realm.. Since no one really wants to speak of it, I'll have to take a walk and just ask around. So you are the one who suggested she come here for treatment? May I ask why?"

"I missed her. I... abused our relationship for so many years and then allowed Damien to use her in the most wretched way.." He grimaced. "After that happened, I couldn't live with myself. I got us out of there...and by bringing her here, I've been trying to make amends."

Brian sighed.. That was all he could do.. He knew full well about family problems, and this one here was just outright pissing him off.. He eyed the big man once more, nodded his head slowly "That much I can understand... To a degree.. Personally, I have never put my sisters in any position that would harm them, like that.. But I am not judging you. With my life, I know I cant. So let me ask you.. What do you really want for your sister?"

"I just want her to be well. I tried helping with my skills but only succeeded in nearly throwing her from her body. When Ian came to me after hearing many stories of the cult, I told him of my sister. he said he could help. I contacted her....she came for a visit and was apparently convinced."

"She nearly died last night, due to some untested medicine.. In truth, She did die, they brought her back. How she managed to hold onto the body is beyond me. But I am thankful she did.. I am concerned, however. The level of medical care here, hardly compares with some of the worlds I have been on.. They talked of a bone marrow transplant.. I have a place where we can get that done.. I just need some DNA, from any of Renee's family.."

Jathara gave him a weak smile:: "Did Charlie tell ya how old we all are?"

"I myself am over one hundred twenty, if you couldnt on and off world time.. She mentioned she was around seventy five?"

Jathara scratched at his beard:: "I'd say that's about right. I wasn't sure she mentioned that to you."

"She did, once. We don't talk about it much. Look I hate to sound like a bastard, but some of their family has to be buried somewhere right?"

"Buried yeah........"

Perfect, that's what I'm talking about.." ::Oh yeah, he knew exactly where he was going with this.. A quick swipe of a few bones, and DNA could be extracted and replicated via one of the more advanced realms, or even from a medical center in Star's End.:: "I'm sure you might know.. Where they may be buried at?"

A shocked look came across Jathara's face. "What are we gonna do? Dig 'em up?!"

"That's what I am gonna do, you can just say ya never knew."

Jathara, looked again to Brian. His expression was one of a disgust of sorts. "That's, but why!? I mean come on, there are children there buried."

Brian shrugged and looked to Charlotte as she lay sleeping, and replied softly. "I once killed a half sister, when she tried to kill my other two sisters. I did it with family present. There is nothing I won't do to save my wife. Grave robbing is nowhere near as bad as what I have done before. You just tell me where I need to go and I will handle the rest.. Or do you NOT want her saved? Cause if you don't you are in my way, and if you in my way the only family she will have left is the one in Rhy'din."

"Big words.." As Jathara laughed loudly once more, and clapped as well. "I like your spirit, granted I don't like the idea of robbing the dead. But I will tell you, for my sister's sake."

Thank you, Jathara. I don't like what i do much either, but I am a married now. That means I have no pride when it comes to my wife, I will do whatever needs to be done, good or bad.

Jathara, and Brian spoke some more, and a time and place was specified. Brian left Charlotte with Jathara and headed back to Rhy'din. There was work to do and he didn't have much time.

Jathara's instruction proved to be on the mark, as Brian located the cemetary with minimum trouble. Dressed in back from head toe, Brian just walked up to the main gate and busted the lock using the spade of the shove he brought. Closing the gate behind him, he made his way through the maze of head stones, and memorials.

Brian looked about the area a moment, the night sky was rather cloudy and the rumble of thunder in the distance, made it very clear he needed to get this done as quickly as possibly and get back to his wife. After a bit of walking, Brian came to a small gated off area. The wrought iron fence was no more than two or so feet tall, and inside were four graves. Brian slung his pack, shovel and pick over the fence, and leaped on over.

Upon closer inspection, Brian confirmed Jathara's information and noted the 3 adult graves, and one child. After a quick glance about the area, Brian lifted his shovel and went to work on the first of the adult graves. His mind only on what he had to do, as he broke ground and continued to dig deeper. He couldn't let himself get soft all the sudden, and couldn't afford to let emotions get the best of him. It was as easy as doing any other job. After all, he had done far worse in his life.

A hours had passed, as Brian finally did what he had to do. Before him were two exposed coffins, the first of the adult's and the child's. Brian took a moment to catch his breath, as he eyed the surrounding area once more. Sweat wiped from his brow, as he then picked up the pick and went to town on the adult coffin. Truth be told he could have been a bit more tactful, actually he should have been. But none of that went through his head. As far as he was concerned, none of this would have happened if it hadn't been for this family. Karma was indeed a bitch, and as far as Brian was concerned it was time for her to collect. Moments passed, as Brian broke his way through the edge, and then pried off the lid. What he found hardly made him happy.

Nothing... Absolutely nothing. It was empty, and the liner still looked as new as if it were shown off in a funeral home itself. Brian cursed softly to himself and went to move over to the child's coffin, when something caught his attention and cause him to lower himself inside the hole and lay low. His eyes glanced about the area once more, as he heard it again. Twigs snapping, and grass crunching gave way to a low set of voices, and still no one showed themselves. Brian's eyes went to the tools which were a bit aways from him and out of reach for the moment.

Once more Brian's eyes panned the area and nothing was seen, quickly he picked himself up and moved behind one of the larger headstones and waited. Now instead of two voices getting closer, Brian heard only one. Peeking from around the stone, he made out what looked to be a man getting closer. Brian cursed himself for his bad luck, and figured Karma was out to collect on his ass as well and hoped the man would pass on by.
Of course that just didn't happen, and murphy's law was kicking into high gear. Brian knew he needed to get the hell outta dodge and fast, as it stood this was taking far too long. Slowly, Brian reached into his jacket and waited.

The person kept getting closer, and Brian stayed as still as he could. Thunder rumbled from the sky, and lightening cracked over head as rain began to come down. Brian lost track of the man for a few moments, and regained it when he heard his tools moving about. Taking a quick peek, Brian noted the man had his back to him and yelled out into the dark. Moving his hand from his pocket Brian crept up behind the person. The last thing they heard was the sound of their neck snapping, as Brian then dumped the body into the adult sized coffin.

After a bit of time and after no one else showed up, Brian decided to go back to work on the second coffin. The child sized coffin was quickly opened, and before Brian was the skeleton of a child that looked to be maybe ten to twelve years of age and in very good shape, not a piece of skin on her. It made him wonder how long ago she actually died. As it stood his inromation on the age was a guess. Especially since Bri was far from an expert on the subject of the human skeleton, save breaking things. Pulling a small pouch from his jacket, Brian grabbed the femurs and stuffed them in the pouch. Once they were secured, he replaced the lid, and began to re-bury the coffin and was soon stopped by the sound of more voices.

Deciding too much time had been wasted and since he was soaked head to toe, Brian vaulted the fence and took off on foot into the darkness. So far the damage was kept to a minimum in reference to casualties, and that was always a good thing. Still he felt bad for the man left in the coffin, but it couldn't be avoided. He also pondered what happened to the other person or persons that arrived with him. Still it was shoved from his mind, as he fled the cemetary. He had what he needed, and with any luck it would work out.

Brian made his way once more into the hospital room. Freshly showered, and a faint smile upon his face, and a small bruise and cut along his cheek and neck. A loving smile for his wife, as he watched her quietly as she was sitting up, staring at a tray of hospital food. She could have sworn the green jello had moved. It remindedher of the stew back home. She poked at it carefully with her knife. It jiggled...taunting her. She made a face...and then, she looked up, knife still in hand.

"Couldn't they have gotten me food that isn't going to kill me quicker than the cancer?" She'd begun to joke about it now....no use it moping about it.

"I agree. Maybe we'll have better luck with the food off world. How ya feeling?" As he eyed her carefully, pondering if the time time was ever there. He sucked it up and continued. "I found a possibly way to assist you. At least in the Marrow department, love."

Charlotte set the knife down, eyed the jello once more and then turned her full attention on her husband.:: "What? But y-....how? Everyone is dead!"

"Please forgive me.. Your brother gave me an idea, well I mentioned the dead and he confirmed it. Anyways I paid them a visit and we worked something out. I have enough to at least collect what you may need. But we need to do it off world. An leave soon.. Before they find what happened and track us here."

Charlotte threw back the covers and swung her feet over the edge of the bed. "You didn't. Tell me you didn't! Oh my god, Brian!"

"Quiet!"

"I did what I had to do to make sure YOU lived. I can deal with whatever comes, but I will NOT Lose you. Or do you want to DIE here?! If you do, I can take what I stole back." His face softened at her reaction.

An angry expression washed over her face. "If you would just shut up, I was going to get out of bed and hug you for it!" But now she's all grouchy.

"I'm.. I'm sorry.. I just got a bad reaction at the cemetary.. There was a bit of trouble. Anyways, When you feel up to it.. We can tell the Doctor, and Toby will help us get to where we need to go."

"What happened at the Cemetary? And no...we can't tell Ian anything. He's as likely to hand us over to the people if he finds out what you did."

"Someone came upon me me.. I didn't expect it. They won't come upon anyone again."

Charlotte's eyes widened at the statement.

"Anyways, are you up to travel?"

"Yes...but where are we going?" Wondering what they did to transplant marrow...and if it hurt or not.

"We need to head back home, find Toby and then we are headed to a place that can recreate the DNA from the marrow for you. It will be a bit painful, but NO where near as bad as whay they will do here.
You'll also keep your hair, and recover much faster, lover."

Her eyes lit up "They can really do that?"

"Baby, I tried to tell you. There are worlds out there you have yet to see. They gave me my knee again and allowed me to bear children once more after the incident. Yes they can do that. In some realms they can do more! We can at least try it. It'll be faster than this." A hopeful glance at his love, as he prays she takes this chance.

Quiety Charlotte replied "But because of chemo...I'll still never have children, right?" She was sad. It bothered her so much...that she didn't have a choice. Well, she'd take this chance...for Brian. "I'll do it."

"We won't know until we try, love. They are fairly advanced in Ragol.. I just want you well, I don't care about children. You are what matters. So you'll do it then, right?"

An affirmed nod was her reply.

"Alright, let's make ready. One dead since my arrival here is way past my limit." As he began to pack up items around the room.

Charlotte looked weaker than ever, though her spirits were soaring. Last weigh in was 102...possibly weighing less now since being stuck in a bed. She just sat there on the edge of the bed, watching him, dangling her feet below her.

Brian packed like they were making for the border after a bank robbery, everything was chucked in their bags quickly and with no regards, as he eyed his wife once more. "I'm sorry.. I should have done more."

How she loved the man before her with everything she possessed within her. He stuck with her when truly her looks had faded...when everything was going wrong, when she couldn't even be everything a wife should be to her husband. He still loved her; and she couldn't have been more pleased with him. "You've done everything you could. I love you, Brian. Please don't think any of this is your fault."

"No, baby. NOW i am doing everything I can. I refuse to back and watch anymore. I need to be the husband, YOU need, and I will do whatever I need to do to become exactly that." A loving smile offered, as he finished packing and looked to her. There truly was nothing he would not do for her, and soon they would know exactly what that meant, as trust once more would have to be given in the face of the unknown, as they would set out for something new to each of them.

Welcome! You have entered at 12:01 am
Brian Ravenlock: ::Brian continued to pack their belongings.. A
wary eye glanced about the room and to the door, as he looked to

Charlotte once more:: "Baby, please tell me how ya really feel?
Do you want to try this?"

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he packed the first back, and made his
way to her bed. A quick glance at her medical chart, as he spoke
to her::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Charlotte had been staring at her IV,
wondering whether or not to make Brian do it or if she should.
Glancing up at him, she bore a blank expression.Truthfully,
Charlotte felt like sh*t. That couldn't be helped though.:: "I'll try
anything at this point, baby."

Brian Ravenlock: ::A worried glance to his wife, as he looked the
chart and back to her once more:: (s) "I understand.. I just dont
want to make it worse for you. I think we can really get the help
we need though."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Plucking idly at the tape which held the IV
in place. She spoke gruffly.:: "Well I'm sure as hell not getting any
better. It can't hurt, so lets go."

Brian Ravenlock: "Alright then."::as he tossed the chart aside,
and went to help her with the IV:: "When we finish this, I am
taking you away for a bit."

Brian Ravenlock: "Anywhere you want to go."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Working the tape off the IV gently,as to not
cause her any other pain::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "So long as I'm with you...::There was a
sharp intake of breath as he then removed the IV.:: ....I'll be
perfectly content, my love."

Brian Ravenlock: "I feel the same, babes. I know how hard this
had been on you. I wish I could have done more." ::Setting the IV
aside and looking her over:: "I dont know how this will affect you,
you may toss your cookies.. I am taking us to the Fur'za, we can
stabalize you there and try to find some help, and Toby."

Brian Ravenlock: "I'm gonna Warp us.. So I just want you to be
ready."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As a commotion could now be heard down the
hall, screams of "Stop!" and "Where are they!" could be heard,
and a women screaming "They killed my boy!", the chaos
ensued,as the commotion sounded to be getting closer::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::She looked deeply distressed at this
news, perhaps her eyes formed a few tears. Her emotions were so
out of whack. Attention drawn to the sound in the hall, Charlotte
merely blinked.::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Brian, I think we have to hurry. Just do it.
Do it fast." ::Her voice was strained, weak, frantic. Her hand
reached out to grab hold of him as she stood as quick as she
could from the bed.::

Brian Ravenlock: "That... Sounds like we need to get outta here.
Your brother might wanna vacation too."

Brian Ravenlock: "Yeah babe! That sounds like a plan." ::As he
closed the door, and used another bed to barricade the door, and
then made his way towards Charlotte::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::cling::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Reaching for the bags, he slung each over his
shoulders, and grabbed his wife as she clung to him::

Brian Ravenlock: "I love you."

Brian Ravenlock: *click*

Brian Ravenlock: ::As the device was activated once more, and
they vanished. Just as the door bust open. The only thing the door
busters saw was a brillant flash of blue, and then nothing::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Bracing herself against him, she buried her
face to his chest.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Moments later, they arrived.. Brian held
Charlotte close, as they phased in once more, and came crashing
to the floor of his quarters, aboard the Fur'za::

Brian Ravenlock: "Babe!?"

Brian Ravenlock: "You alright!? Baby?!"

Brian Ravenlock: ::Blue eyes glanced around the room a moment
to make sure they made it alright, and then to his wife to make
sure she made it alright::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::It was a sickening feeling...and Charlotte
was all too sure she'd be puking asap.:: "Brian...!"

Brian Ravenlock: "I'm here!"

Brian Ravenlock: "Computer, lights!"

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::She was sitting on the floor, knees drawn
up and her forehead on top of them.::"That was terrible."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As the room lit up, Brian was able to get a
better look at her::

Brian Ravenlock: "Oh baby Im sorry."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he togged the bags aside, and moved to
her::

Brian Ravenlock: "It was bad, I think we can get you feeling better
for the trip. We have a medical protocol program aboard the ship."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::She nodded meekly, not lifting her head.::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "When is this going to be over with?"

Brian Ravenlock: "Soon I hope."

Brian Ravenlock: "The med program isnt overly sophisticated, but
it can stabalize you a bit, and replinish fluids."

Brian Ravenlock: "It can keep ya alright until we get to where we
need to go."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::She looked up then, pressing her palm to
the floor and moved to get up. Her surprisingly still soft and
untangled brown hair fell over her face, hindering her view.:: "So
this is your 'ship', honey?"

Brian Ravenlock: "Yeah, sweetie. This is where I work, home
away from.. Well I can show ya in a bit, we need to getcha feeling
a bit better." ::Smiles::

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he lifted himself and assisted her gently::

Brian Ravenlock: "We actually, modified these quarters to
included you. Misty was very nice about that."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Gladly letting him help her up, still holding
onto him even after she'd steadied herself.:: "Misty...misty....she's
that...that girl. The one with the tail, right?"

Brian Ravenlock: "Yes she is, this is her ship."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Smiles, as he holds her and kisses her cheek
softly::

Brian Ravenlock: "we can leave everything here, let gets you to
the med bay, it's just across the hall."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Smiles back:: "Alrighty. Lead the way."
::Still grasping his arm::

Brian Ravenlock

Date: 2006-06-25 08:02 EST
Brian Ravenlock: "As he guided her carefully to the door, and into
a main hall. Various panels were lit up, and lots of small noises,
clicks and blips, and a few beeps could be heard.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::As they walked into the hall, Brian called out
to see if anyone was about:: "Hello? Anyone home?" ::Moments
passed with no answer, as Brian guided Charlotte to the right, and
down the hall a bit further, till they came to a door with a large red
cross on it::

Brian Ravenlock: "Guess, it's you and me then. We haven't seen
Lerida or Sigma since we did the repair job on her."

Brian Ravenlock: "Anyways, the medical program.. I dont know
how familiar you are with computers, or gadgets or anything else."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::The noises were all foreign to Charlotte, as
were the panels containing the buttons making them. She
watched the variious items as they walked,andthen looked up at
the red cross.:: "Baby....the toaster, remember? I'm dumb."

Brian Ravenlock: "It may seem scary, I know it was my first time
dealing with things like this, when I first started realm hopping..
But this may open your eyes to to much larger world my dear."

Brian Ravenlock: "You're not dumb, you just haven't seen this."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Magic was much simpler. It saddened her
she'd never use it again.:: "If you say so, dearheart. And as for it
being scary, you're right."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he pressed a panel aside the door, and it
opened suddenly, he then guided her inside. A look of conern to
his wife, as he ponders exactly what she thought::

Brian Ravenlock: "Y'know... When i first came here to Star's End,
I was worried as hell as well.. Well when we finish this, there so
much I'd lke to show you."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::This was definately scarier than Ian's
ridiculously huge needles. Squeezing Brian's arm tighter as she
ooked around, Charlotte's jaw nearly dropped at the sight.::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "How...how could I not have known about
things like this?"

Brian Ravenlock: ::Suddenly a voice rang out:: "Welcome to
Medical Bay, how may I assist you?"

Brian Ravenlock: "It's easy to miss this love, we don't get much
of this where we came from."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::her dainty lady's grip on his arm suddenly
became vice-like::

Brian Ravenlock: "Different realms, different advancements,
remember you excel at magic, and here they have very little."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::nodding::"Who is here?"

"I am the Medical Program, for the Cargo
Ship 'Fur'za Fly'in' How may I assist you?"

Brian Ravenlock: (s)"Sweetie, that's the medical program.

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::slightly freaked out::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "It talks to you?"

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Doesn't it get annoying?"

Brian Ravenlock: "It wants to know how it can help you."

Brian Ravenlock: "It can at times, but it is also helpful."

Brian Ravenlock: ::clears throat::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "So what do we do now? Honey, this is all
you...I'm at a loss."

Brian Ravenlock: "Computer, please prepare medical diagnostic
program, terran female."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Getting rather nervous, her grasp on his
arm releases and she laces her fingers with his own.::

"Acknowledged, Ravenlock Brian. Please
place subject on bed, and remember to remove excess
clothing in reference to blood and tox screening"

Brian Ravenlock: "Okay baby, he is asking us to remove
everything but your undergarments, and lay there on the bed for
him."

Brian Ravenlock: ::points above the bed:: "That is a scanner, it
will look at you, and is like an x ray, save it is MUCH more
powerful and can view your blood, and everything else."

Brian Ravenlock: "It cant fix everything, but it can tell us what we
need to do and stabalize you until treatment can be rendered."

Brian Ravenlock: "It wont touch you at first and will warn you if it
needs to, granted it has a bad bedside manner."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "I have to take off my clothes?!"

Charlotte Ravenlock: "That's really kinky, babe."

Brian Ravenlock: "Hardly kinky, granted on long trips, sometimes
ya have to run around in underwear or briefs and the such."

Brian Ravenlock: "Just strip down to your underwear, it won't take
long."

Brian Ravenlock: "What's kinky is a male prostate exam...."

Brian Ravenlock: "ugh..."

Brian Ravenlock: "Anyways, I can getcha fresh clothes as well. I
have some of my shirts around also."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Good thing she's still in that hospital
gown, so it didn't take her long to strip to underclothes. The gown
was puddled around her feet as she stood their, slight frame
shivering.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Brian collected the gown, and smiled to his
wife once more, as he nodded to her and then guided her to the
bed::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Still thinking this was absolutely
ridiculous, Charlotte got onto the bed and laid down. Her brown
hair was fanned out around her. She relaxed almost immediately.::

Brian Ravenlock: "Alright love, this wont take long and while it is
cold a bit, I promiseit wont take so long."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::closing her eyes and nodding trustingly in
response to her husband.::

"Ravenlock, Cross, Charlotte.... Prepping....
Welcome, and please relaxe... Setting program parameters..
. Also... Congratulations on your numptials...."

Brian Ravenlock: "Toldja it has a terrible bedside manner."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::She laughed, but tried to holdstill.::

"Not amusing Ravenlock, Brian.. Please
stand back, and await program start..."

Brian Ravenlock: "Understood, and thank you."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he stepped back a bit by the door and
awaited what was next::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Yeah, honey. Listen to the computer.
Shush!" ::Giggle::

....Loading blood and tox screen... Thank
you Ravenlock, Cross, Charlotte... Please allow load time..."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Various panels came to life, as beeps and
clicks were heard once more and the scanner above began to
hum softly, and lower a bit closer to her::

"Program established, and readied. Please
allow a blood draw, and stay still. Blood draw will
commence, and will be extratced from right arm...
in..3..2..1.. commencing."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Gah! Needles! CHarlotte wanted to cry.
She'd been poked and prodded so manytimes.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::As a small hose emerged from the side of the
bed, and at it's tip a small needle. Slowly, it closed upon her arm,
as a small brace came along side and held her arm in place.
One small prick later and it was over, hardly anything felt as the
brace and needle each went to their respective places::

"Happy thoughts, quick and painless... I am
good..."

Brian Ravenlock

Date: 2006-06-25 08:10 EST
"Blood collected, beginning stage 1 blood
screen, and toxic screen will follow."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::But when your arm has been pricked
nearly 30 times in each arm, it tends to be sensitive.::

"Blood scan complete, phase 1 level
check... Results... Blood pressure increase, note this is NOT
due to stress. Heart Rate high, but within acceptable limits.
White blood cell count low..-

Cancer detected, stage 3... Treatment is
required at nearest acceptable facility.. Note, subject also
has been subjected to electro-shock in the last 72 hours.....
Fun..."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Can only imagine what she looked like
while that was happening.::

"All levels within perameters save, Cancer
spread. Follow up is required.... Suggested, Fluid injection,
and level 5 antibiotic hypo spray injection to Stabalize
subject. No sedation required. Also... Eat more..."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "I don't feel like it...."

"Tox screen results.... Tox screen clear
save previously mention Cancer... Also suggest pill
supplement or Injection supplement due to Subject's
answer in regard to food intake."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::makes a face::

"Commencing Body scan in 3...2...1... Think
happy thoughts...." ::As the scanner came to life, and lowered a
bit more, and began to move back and forth along the bed, as
more clicks, and beeps were heard::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Honey...." ::Glancing over at him:: "This is
so impersonal."

"Multiple scars noted, some showing.....
over 40 years of age.... Aged break noted on ankle, hairline
only. Tattoos noted.... Intricate detail noted on the neck.."

Brian Ravenlock: "I toldja love."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "I'd forgotten about hurting my ankle....didn't
know I broke it."

Brian Ravenlock: "Previous blunt trauma noted, along back
and shoulders... "

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Well there went that surprise!" ::frown::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::about the tat::

"Subject, is within acceptable limitations
and with suggested course will recover enough to recieve
proper treatment."

"Thank you for your patience, and you may
rise, and dress."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As the scanner lifted, allowing Charlotte room
to move once more::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Recover enough? Gee, that sounds
promising." ::Spoken wryly as she sat up, holding her arms
around her.::

Brian Ravenlock: "Suggested course items can be recovered
in bay 1 across from bed, please follow directions, and
consult myself for any further action.."

Brian Ravenlock: "Babe, he says you'll be fine anough to travel,
so long as we do what he asked."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Handing her the gown once more with a smile::

Brian Ravenlock: "We'll give ya what he suggested, and you can
shower"

Brian Ravenlock: "I'll get you some fresh clothes and we can find
Toby."

Emerson: ::who was at the moment outside the RDI on the
porch, preferring the cool night air to the mess inside::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Slipping the gown over her shoulders and
getting off the bed.:: "Hot shower sounds nice."

Brian Ravenlock: "Yeah it does.. Actually the new hot spring we
had installed sounds nice."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::sigh::"Don't remind me."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Moving across the room, as he opened the
drawed marked "Bay 1" and found a small packet titled
"Supps",and a vial with a small needle marked "Antibio5", and
lastly another vial with needle marked "Fluidsup3"::

Brian Ravenlock: "Okay we need to take these, and it says you'll
be fine for the trip."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::puts arms behind her back:: "No more!"
::What was sad,was the fact it was a serious plea.::

Brian Ravenlock: "This will stabalize you, it's either that or the
tank.."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "What's the tank?"

Brian Ravenlock: ::Sighs:: "I know it sucks, but this is needed.
Trust me you don't want the tank."

Brian Ravenlock: "It's a liquid tank, that basically you have to
stay in until you are stabalized."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::promptly presents arms::

Brian Ravenlock: "Look I can give ya the needles in the rear, if
need be."

Brian Ravenlock: "Okay arms it is."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::She'd never surrender her rear to such
torture. Her butt was perfect!::

Brian Ravenlock: ::So long story short, 2 shots to the arm,
followed by a grin::

Brian Ravenlock: "Okay, now drink this, it's lemon flavoured, and
takes these pills with it."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Meanie."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Decides not to prolong the inevitable and
just downs 'em::

Brian Ravenlock: ::There was NO way in hell he was going to tell
her about the nanites, if she was scared before, he more than
likely would have her die just by the thought of little machines
throughout her body fighting and adding to her cell count for
defense::

Brian Ravenlock: "Very nice love."

Brian Ravenlock: "Now you can shower up, and I can see about
your clothes and looking for Toby"

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Had half amind to tell him to shower with
her....but instead shestood there looking unsure.:: "Uhh
honey.Where is the bathroom?"

Brian Ravenlock: ::If he was sure she would be up to it, he had
half a mind to ask the same, but things needed to be done first::

Brian Ravenlock: "I have one in our room, come on out this way."

Brian Ravenlock: "Also you may feel just a bit of a tingling, in
your body.. Have no worries, its the meds working."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he opened and door and moved aside to let
her though::

Charlotte Ravenlock: :: oh the things that get set aside in their
marriage...:: "Make sure the shirt you get me is long enough,
honey. I don't want Toby seeing me in something I usually wear
around the house."

Brian Ravenlock: "Actually, I have actual clothes for you."

Brian Ravenlock: "No worries, I took the liberty in hopes, you'd
take a trip with us one day."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As the room to his door opened once
more,and Brian once more moved aside for Charlotte::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Oh," ::as she moved into the
room:: "Too bad it couldn't have been under other
circumstances."

Brian Ravenlock: "It still can be."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Smiles::

Brian Ravenlock: "Space travel can be quite the experience."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he moved inside, and opened the closet
unit::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Sounds.....pointless. Why use a 'ship'
when you can just warp?" ::Talking as she wandered into the
bathroom and began undressing again.::

Brian Ravenlock: "Cause love, warping only works for certain
things."

Emerson: ::to keep the nice pilot's bank account happy::

Brian Ravenlock: "Like I can't warp to Earth, or even Ragol."

Brian Ravenlock: "Kairee and Braxeus can explain better about
the planes and realms. I haven't plane walked in over forty years,"

Brian Ravenlock: "So sometimes ships are needed, also some
worlds dont have magic just as others dont have technology."

Brian Ravenlock: "Vana'diel is a great deal closer, Plane wise
than say Earth."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "I married an old man." ::grinning to herself
in the mirror::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::smirking now....:: "You cradle robber, you!"

Brian Ravenlock: "If only you knew."

Brian Ravenlock: "trouble is I can't remember it all.:

Brian Ravenlock: "I was hoping Kai, could help."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::The water was turned on and she spoke
louder above it until it heated enough.:: "She's very powerful,
darling. I'm sure she'd at least try."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he set out a uniform for her, it matches his
own. Black petite BDUs, long sleeved commado styled shirt with
the small "Fur'za" Logo on the front right side, and boots to
match::

Brian Ravenlock: "I dont know if I want to remember, granted that
artist.. Julie, she had a picture she drew that really sent me
back.. I hate that, damn deja vu and crap."

Brian Ravenlock: "I like my life as it is."

Brian Ravenlock: "Minus all the chaos, I'd tone that down a tad."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he rummaged around, and noted his N64
was left out.:: "Damn it Sigma."

Brian Ravenlock: "Okay babe, I am gonna head to the bridge and
see about Toby, when you dress just come out the room and turn
left, keep walking and holler out. You'll find me."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Okay baby."::Muffledsounds of her getting
beneath thewater couldbe heard...possibly even a sigh of
relief/relaxation.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::A smile, as the sigh was caught. It was nice
to see her relaxed a bit::

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he exited, and made his way to the bridge::

Brian Ravenlock

Date: 2006-06-25 08:14 EST
Brian Ravenlock: ::Reaching the bridge, Brian started up the
communications array and tried to recall the name of Toby's ship::

Emerson: ::Lady::

Emerson: ::And the port registry would have it listed, as Toby
was home-ported out of the Star's End port. S.S. Lady, licensed
to one Captain John Michael Emerson.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Registry found, and after a few moments a
message was sent, as Brian would wait for a reply::

Emerson: ::several various communications satellites later, the
'comm would answer:: This is Toby. ::fairly free of static, too::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ;:ish diggin' her steamy hot shower::

Brian Ravenlock: "Toby, this is Brian."

Brian Ravenlock: "I'm at the Star's End Port aboard the Fur'za, I
got Charlotte and we are set."

Emerson: ::slight pause:: Much as I'd enjoy a social call, I'm
willing to bet this is what we talked about.

Emerson: ::then the confirmation:: All right. You know the
general-access landing field, the one they use for non-commercial
stuff? It's down beyond the 200-block of bays?

Emerson: There's a little gate at the end, the tram they run will
drop you off right there at the edge of the field. Be there in about
fifteen minutes, I'll meet you there for pickup.

Brian Ravenlock: "Yeah I know the one, and I wish it was social
too. Still we got cake day coming."

Brian Ravenlock: "15 mikes, understood. We'll be standing by."
Emerson: Very good, I'll see you there.

Brian Ravenlock: ::Logging off, Brian left the bridge and made his
way down the hall and back into his room::

Brian Ravenlock: "Babe?"

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::shower is still running...she loves that hot
water::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Opening the door, and peeking his head
inside:: "babe?"

Brian Ravenlock: ::What he woudnt give for an extra half hour on a
much better day::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::soft reply:: "Do I need to get out now?"

Brian Ravenlock: "I'm sorry, but yes ya do. Toby is going to meet
us. We can warp to the tram, and catch it from there."

Brian Ravenlock: "we got about 15 minutes."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Reluctantly turning the water off, Char rung
the water from her long hair and CAREFULLY stepped out of the
shower.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::A hand offered to her, as he smiled and
waited::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::little gasp as she took his hand.::"Ish cold!
Towel~!"

Brian Ravenlock: ::A loud laugh was his reply, as he handed her
a warmed long towel:: "Here ya are love."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Another laugh, as he guided her a bit more
and let her hand go, as she was on the floor mat::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::snuggles into the warm towel::

Brian Ravenlock: "Clothes are ready on the bed."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he exited the bathroom and made his way
into the room once more::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Socks were also set out for her, as well as an
tactical styled belt::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::She took her time drying off....carefully
making sure she didn't have anymore bruises. She tried to be
careful. Then,wrapping the towel around her, she stepped into the
room and overto the bed,eyeing the clothes.::

Brian Ravenlock: "I know it doesn't look like much, but it'll keep
you warm and will be acceptable for where we are going."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::She noted the time and shirked out of the
towel, quickly dressing.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Brian quickly changed his clothes as well into
a fresh uniform, and packed the bones in a small shoulder back,
and also packed his M.A.G. unit::

Brian Ravenlock: ::A holstered photon pistol was also grabbed
and packed, as he waited for Charlotte calmly::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "How do look?" ::model::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Smiles:: "Like a spacer." ::laughs::

Brian Ravenlock: "You look beautiful, so you ready?"

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::smiles tiredly, nodding::

Brian Ravenlock: "Let's get this wrapped up, them my dear."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he smiled and made his way to her, and
whipped out his trusty warp device, and in a moment they were
gone again::

Brian Ravenlock: ::And instantly, they appeared on a tele-pad
near the tram, as it looked like controlled chaos around them. So
many people coming and going, species, droids and vehicles. It
was busy indeed, and it only looked to get worse::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::cling....oi...feels sick again:: "Damnit..."
::grumblegrumble::

Emerson: ::easily why he'd chosen the field in question - busy
tho the port was, that would be one of the less insane places::
Brian Ravenlock: "Okay, Let's catch that tram." ::Pointing to a
near Tram, and then guiding Charlotte as they boarded and were
soon off::

Brian Ravenlock: "I know, babe. Just ride it out, the meds will
kick in soon."

Emerson: ::the night sky was hardly peaceful here over Star's
End - steam rose skyward, lights crisscrossed the horizon, trails
and shapes flashed overhead, and there was just a general
cacophony of sound (though muted out this far) ::

Brian Ravenlock: ::As the tram took off, and gave way to a much
better view of the sky itself, and the literal chaos it held::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::All this moving....eesh! She just clung to
him, beginning to look pale again (well, paler than usual)head on
his shoulder.::

Brian Ravenlock: "Ragol is like this, I wont say I am looking
foward to going back."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As the tram sped along, and after a few
minutes came to a slow stop at the edge of the field::

Brian Ravenlock: "This is our stop, babe."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he slowly, assisted Charlotte off the tram
and made looked to the field itself, awaiting Toby::

Emerson: ::there was a little less chaos out here, but that's a
relative statement::

Brian Ravenlock: "Smart move on his part... Not as busy. Nice."

Brian Ravenlock

Emerson: ::and soon became a false one, as a shape broke the
smoke and cloud line, and roared earthward in a thundering blaze
of retro-rockets and anticollision lights. The shape was fairly
sizable, roughly saucer-shaped along with a square stern
section. ( http://members.tripod.com/~starshipsdatabase/rel
iant.gif ) ::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::This is a HUGE pride thing for Charlotte.
She already disliked Toby (but more-so his gf) and the fact that
she's having to ask him for his help really knocked her off her high
horse.::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Return of the vice-like grip onher husband::

Emerson: ::the ship pivoted gracefully on her forward edge in
midair, and settled to the ground with a muffled THUMP and an
expanding cloud of dust.::

Emerson: ::from the forward underside of the saucer, a ramp
slowly ground its way downward, bright light cascading out from
the space within::

Emerson: ::a figure walked down that ramp, with another figure
behind::

Emerson: ::the figure in front was a familiar one, though Toby
usually wasn't wearing his flight gear when he was in the RDI.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Brian grinned like a school kid once more.
Space was something he loved, and it had been a good while
since he had been on a journey like this, he eyed the large ship
and looked like a kid who won somekind of a contest for a
moment. A concerned look to his wife, as he held her closely. He
knew of her feelings, and he knew of his own at one time. But he
made a step foward and Toby in turn matched his own, and for
them it was a start::

Emerson: ::the shape behind Toby, however, was a much
different story;:

Emerson: :: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/52/Rob
ot_maximillian.gif ::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Brian knew this was something big, and it
meant a great deal for him that Toby would assist in this way, and
it was somethinghe would never forget. Brian nodded as he saw
Toby emerged, and raised a brow at the 2nd figure::

Emerson: ::easily six feet tall, massive and red-armored chest
supported by twin aerovane 'legs'. Each of the powerful shoulders
supported a triple-limbed arm::

Emerson: ::its head sported only a single, malevolent, glowing
red eye::

Charlotte Ravenlock: (w) "Baby..."

Emerson: ::that eye was fixed on the two figures approaching the
craft; the huge robot hovered a few feet behind Toby::

Emerson: Back off, Max. ::absently:: They're fine.

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::now basically hiding behind him::

Emerson: ::the head swivelled briefly, at him, then back. The
armored shape relented, backing away slightly::

Brian Ravenlock: (w)"It's alright babes, it's a droid. Kinda like
Sigma and Dorothy."

Emerson: Evening, folks.. ::genially, though his eyes were
shadowed and slightly weary:: Ready to take a trip Earth-side?

Emerson: This is Max. He's one of my crew. Don't mind him, he's
not very social.

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::piping up:: "We're going to Earth?"

Charlotte Ravenlock: -m- "Obviously."

Emerson: ::the underside of the saucer, as they passed beneath
toward the ramp, had the name of the ship in massive dark
stencilling: "S.S. Lady II", and her registration ID::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::eyeing the robot::

Brian Ravenlock: "Actually, there has been a change. I'm sorry. I
can cover the creds if need be. We need to go to the Algo system
to Ragol IV"

Brian Ravenlock: "I have a nav chip with a set course."

Emerson: ::Toby shook his head:: Shouldn't be a problem. I'll
take care of the course changes once we're upstairs. ::gesturing
to the ramp:: After y'all.

Brian Ravenlock: "Thanks again Toby."

Emerson: My pleasure. ::and he meant it.::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Looking from one to the other like they are
speaking gibberish.:: "Yeah....uhh,thanks."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he gently guided Charlotte up the ramp::

Emerson: ::Max remained a pace or two behind him and to one
side. It was clear to see that each of the three 'arms' on etiher
side had a manipulator claw, and the other two were easily some
vicious-looking kind of weapon::

Emerson: ::at the top of the ramp was a huge open space, the
cargo bay. It was fairly empty at the moment, though they could
see anothe rdroid - this one looked more like a tank with treads
and all, and huge arms and such. It didn't seem to be more than
just a heavy lifter, rather than a classic droid::

Emerson: Passengers don't have to suffer the ladder ::he
gestured to the central 'core' of the ship, as he led them past it
toward a set of doors::

Emerson: ::behind them, the ramp slowly ground its way upward::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Brian grinned a bit as he watched Max, as
they walked. It made Brian remember Dorothy, and all the trouble
he and her had gotten into during the Dark Falz incident. His mind
snapped back at Toby's words as he guided them::

Emerson: ::among the items of note, a dirtbike was firmly
secured to one of the walls with chains::

Brian Ravenlock: "Awesome."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::ish led::

Emerson: ::You could almost hear a faint, subharmonic resonant
hum from Max as he looked around, mostly at them. It didn't
inspire confidence::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::avoiding Max::

Emerson: ::in the next room, a smaller cargo bay, was a little
'platform' elevator. Toby led them onto this, and it began its slow
rise upwards::

Emerson: ::Max stayed on the lower deck, as it happened::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Onto the elevator they went::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::relaxes::

Emerson: ::they went up into another room, briefly glimpsed as a
storage room apparently, and then up one more level into another
huge empty space. This has nothing really in it, but a keen eye
would recognize a shuttle hangar deck.::

Emerson: ::he led them off the elevator:: You'll have to excuse
anything odd you might meet. My crew are entirely droids, but
Max is the only one who has that ind of effect usually.

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::stifles a yawn::

Emerson: ::a hatch led into a round 'room', which was really a
circular catwalk around a falling shaft - in the center of that shaft
was a three-sided ladder. This was the central core he'd
mentioned. He led them around to the opposite door - and out
onto the bridge::

Brian Ravenlock: "That's understandable"

Emerson: They all have specific jobs. The big one you saw in the
cargo bay is just heavy lifting, nothing else.

Emerson: Art, my exec, can fly the ship and is pretty smart.

Brian Ravenlock: "Interesting"

Emerson: I also have some general maintenance droids, and so
on.

Brian Ravenlock: "Now that's handy."

Emerson: ::the upper deck was smaller, just a pair of consoles
and chairs overlooking the lower deck, with his flight console and
couch, and some other chairs. Above and head was a huge
viewscreen, flanked by other monitors. And over it all, a
three-paned glasteel 'window' formed the upper walls and ceiling of
the bridge, showing the sky far overhead::

Emerson: They all serve their specific purpose. Max too. ::wry;:
He's my bodyguard.

Emerson: He's never very far from me, even in the Inn.

Brian Ravenlock: "Nice to have one."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he looked around the area, wide eyed::

Emerson: For the moment, please make yourselves comfortable.
::he beckoned to the chairs - which were the nice padded type
with headrests, not crappy deck chairs::

Emerson: Once we're out of the system, I'll show you to the
lounge where you can relax till we arrive. ::he settled into his flight
couch::

Brian Ravenlock: "Thanks, Toby. Babe?"

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::listening to them silently::

Charlotte Ravenlock: -vs-"Yeah?"

Brian Ravenlock: ::A warm smile, as he guided her to the chair::

Brian Ravenlock: "It's okay, love. This is a new world for you
literally."

Brian Ravenlock

Date: 2006-06-26 08:13 EST
Brian Ravenlock: "Talk about an adventure."

Emerson: ::he flipped a few switches, watching the monitor to the
left of the main viewer as the readouts changed::

Emerson: ::flick:: Art. Everything secured?

Emerson: :a rather normal sounding voice came back over the
intercom:: Everything's clear to go, Cap'n o Cap'n.

Emerson: ::brief eyeroll:: Righto. Thanks.

Emerson: There are seatbelts built in. Not that you'll need them,
but it sometimes helps.

Brian Ravenlock: "Understood."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he strapped Charlotte into to a chair::

Emerson: ::he settled his hands onto the flight controls;
somewhere far behind, the ship's hull transmitted the sound of the
engines going from a dull roar to a powerfully rising THRUM::

Brian Ravenlock: "It's okay babes"

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::rather.....reserved and....quite distressed::

Brian Ravenlock: ::A smile offered, as he sat next to her::

Emerson: :::Toby's ship wasn't one of the more modern or fancy.
But it was solid - product of an era where sturdy was the rule, and
the damn things were built to run almost forever if you treated
them right. And he treated the Lady as her name suggested.::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::but trying desperately not to look unhappy
in fear of sending Toby the wrong idea::

Emerson: ::absently:: And away we go.. ::he pulled back slightly
on the controls; the atmo rockets kicking in and the ship shivered
faintly as she began to rise; lights of the spaceport slowly falling
away::

Brian Ravenlock: ::A grin like the cat that SO ate the canary,

Brian looked to Charlotte as they lifted off::

Emerson: ::the ship rose completely level; it would be
excessivelly cruel to bring her nose up and hit the gas. Which
was how he usually did it.::

Emerson: ::slowly rotating as she rose, though ; showing off a
rather stunning view of Rhydin's local mountain chain in the
moonlight::

Emerson: ::no reason one can't be both a passenger pilot and a
tourguide at the same time::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::had her eyes squeezed shut and missed
it::

Emerson: ::this was not the same person they were used to
seeing in the Inn, either. Gone was both the jovial pianist, and the
wound-up young lover. The man at the controls was in his
element, and all business::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Brian laughed softly to himself, as he looked
around::

Emerson: ::flick:: Star's End, this is S.S. Lady. Breaking
atmosphere on heading one-zero-three mark ten.

Emerson: ::the tower acknowledged, as the stars slowly began to
become visible as he broke through the haze of smoke and smog::

Emerson: ::there was only the faintest feeling of gravity shifting,
as now he did bring the ship up into a rising turn, pointing her
nose at the sky::

Brian Ravenlock: (s) "Amazing."

Emerson: ::humming an old Great White song to himself as he
did so:: (m) I'm out on the road, and I'm gone... ::hand dropped to
the gravity drive's manual control. And he drew it back firmly.
Click.::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Whispering to Brian:: "Not my cup of tea,
honey..."

Emerson: ::the gravity drive engaged, and the ship surged
forward, eager to give up this dirty little pocket of air for the deep,
cold dark that was her proper home::

Brian Ravenlock: ::chuckles:: "I know love, but to me there is
nothing in the world like it.. Save you."

Emerson: ::the shivering, however, ended as they left gravity
behind. The ride went smooth as silk::

Emerson: ::he glanced down and altered a control - there was a
faint 'THUMPTHUMP'. On the master status board, the image of
the ship changed, showing two 'engine pods' had unfolded from
the stern::

Emerson: Engaging plasma drive in ten seconds.

Emerson: ::watching the numbers change on the readout::

Brian Ravenlock: ::His hand reached out and took hers, as he
smiled once more::

Emerson: And awaaaay we go. ::on the right monitor, the camera
on top of the bridge facing aft showed the engine pods go alight
with starfire, as the plasma drive lit to life::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::That didn't sound good and Charlotte
gripped Brian's hand tightly::

Emerson: ::the stars ahead didn't show it, but they were now
racing out of the Rhydin system at an incredible speed, towards
the safe line for hyperspace jumps::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Brian patted her hand gently, as he smiled
once more:: "It means we will travel faster than the speed of light,
like warp."

Emerson: ::she wasn't new, she wasn't fancy. But when your
pilot is also an inventor and *very* keen on speed... well.::

Emerson: You said you have the nav coordinates? ::turning his
head slightly::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::She rolled her eyes....hopefully Toby had
something she could puke in. She didn't think she would take
anymore damn warping.::

Emerson: ::a strange non-sound could be felt. It was almost
harmonic... a rising pitch within the ship. She was singing... an
ode to joy as she stretched her wings and soared::

Emerson: ::The Lady flew::

Brian Ravenlock: "Yeah I do, here." ::producing and handing over
the course chip::

Emerson: ::he caught it and fed it into the computer::

Emerson: ::behind them, a most interesting shape ambled onto
the bridge. Spherical body, four equidistantly spaced legs around
the 'equator' of the sphere, two arms with hands, and a head
perched on top with two wide sensor eyes:: ( http://freefall
.purrsia.com/ff100/fv00001.htm )

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Charlotte let go of Brian's hand and waved
hers absently in the air. She didn't care. She had to. A thin
blanket with silver stars all over it appeared and landed on her
lap.::

Brian Ravenlock: "Baby? You want to rest?"

Emerson: ::Toby glanced;: Art, you want to take care of all the
course adjustments? ::setting the chip into the console::

Brian Ravenlock: "Hun? You summoned?"

Emerson: ::the droid's voice was cheerful and a bit accented::
Sure thing boss. ::Art's "eyes" turned to the others, one arm
waving casually:: Hullo, hullo!

Emerson: ::The droid ambled over to the flight console, and
plugged himself in as Toby unbuckled and rose from the
command chair::

Emerson: If you folks would like to come with me, I'll take you
down to the lounge now.

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Bite me." ::and the blanket was thrown
over her head.::

Brian Ravenlock: "Sounds like a plan."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he reached over and unbuckled Charlotte::

Brian Ravenlock: "I would, if you felt up to it."

Emerson: ::Toby stepped updeck and waited for them::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::grr::She pulled the blanket from her head,
smoothed her hair and stood up; slightly wobbly.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::A hand offered, as he smiled to her once
more::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Assisting her as they followed Toby::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::clinging dah blanky and her man::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::There was a bright side, however.::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::no Lore.::

Emerson: ::the trip was almost a mirror image of the way they'd
come; except they stopped one deck down and circled around
that central core again to a side hallway. The first door on the right
opened into a lounge that wouldn't look out of place in any
comfortable game room - two couches, an entertainment center,
some stuffed chairs, a small bar that ran off of one wall, and
yes... a piano secured firmly to the bulkhead. A battered old
upright, lovingly polished wood::

Brian Ravenlock: ::In truth Brian wished Lore were there,
mayhaps talk of Cake would ensue::

Emerson: ::no windows or viewports in this compartment, either::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Hopefully Kerrithra hadn't run into Lorelie
anytime, god help them with the trouble those two could get into::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Its good Char didn't know that. She might
make herself throw up::

Emerson: This is my lounge, you're welcome to stay here for the
remainder of the flight. ::he pointed:: that door back there is the
head... er, the bathroom. This couch right here, ::light kick::
opens out into a sleeper if you want to nap.

Brian Ravenlock: "Thanks again Toby, this is one helluva set up."
Emerson: The little cooler behind the bar there has bottled water,
and yes, Mt. Dew. There's also coffee and various things to eat,
you're welcome to whatever's there.

Emerson: This is my home. ::smile::

Brian Ravenlock: "I don't understand why ya stay around the
dragon so much, well other than Lorelie I mean."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Its really big." ::commenting, trying to be
nice.::

Emerson: You've met pretty much most of my crew. I have trust
issues, that's why they'r eall droids. ::wry;: But it does get a bit
lonely.

Brian Ravenlock: "i dont blame you about the trust issues."

Emerson: There's one last member of the crew I'd like to
introduce you to.

Emerson: Well, maybe *crew* isnt the right term.

Brian Ravenlock: "if it weren't for Char's condition, i would never
want to go back to ragol again."

Emerson: Lady. ::he spoke up:: I'd like you to meet our guests.
Brian and Charlotte Ravenlock.

Brian Ravenlock: "One last member?"

Brian Ravenlock: "You have an AI?!"

Brian Ravenlock: "Kick ass!"

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::curious::

Emerson: :;the female voice that answered from the speaker in
the ceiling was gentle, rather cultured.:: It's a pleasure to meet
you both.

Emerson: I didn't name her Lady for nothing. ::little smile::

Brian Ravenlock: "Hello Lady, a pleasure to meet you and thank
you."

Brian Ravenlock: "Man, all we got is that med program."

Brian Ravenlock: "I need to talk to Misty about a new system."

Emerson: If you need me at any time, just ask Lady to call for
me.

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::pleasantly, though needingto sit before
she pukes:: "Hello,Lady."

Brian Ravenlock: "Thanks again, Toby.. I mean it."

Emerson: Bet you didn't know I had a kid of my own, huh. ::wry
smile::

Emerson: ::for the first time, Toby gave them an indication of just
where his skills lay:: I built her. ::simply::

Brian Ravenlock: "A child? You mean.."

Brian Ravenlock: "YOU did this!?"

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Doesn't fully understand::

Brian Ravenlock: "Now that's something to be proud of."

Emerson: The ship itself, was a salvage job.

Emerson: She was a total wreck when I found her.

Emerson: I rebuilt her, and then I built Lady herself.

Emerson: I have no trust issues with her, because she's my own
design. ::nod::

Brian Ravenlock: "I don't know what to say."

Brian Ravenlock: "I know I could never do something like this. I
just fight, and go where I am told to."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Must've been really hard. Nicejob."

Brian Ravenlock: "I mean I can fly em, and use em. But to build
em.. Incredible."

Emerson: We all have our gifts. You can do things I never will be
able to... so can you. ::to Charlotte::

Emerson: This.. is mine. ::smile::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Likewhat,Toby?"

Brian Ravenlock: "I wonder..

Brian Ravenlock: ::quiets down as they speak::

Emerson: I also built Max. Sadly, I succeeded all too well in what
I intended with him. ::chuckle::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::wondering what she can do::

Emerson: I do have one request, before I leave you guys to rest.

Brian Ravenlock: "Anything."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::listens::

Brian Ravenlock

Date: 2006-06-26 08:23 EST
Emerson: If you need anything, please ask Lady to find me. I
would ask that you don't go wandering. ::seriously:: Anywhere
else, I would not care, but aboard ship is my domain. And I am
very protective of it. ::then a slight smile:: I don't mean to sound
like a dick, but it only takes one mistake to cause a catastrophe;
and I haven't made it yet.

Brian Ravenlock: "I don't blame you one bit, and understand
completely."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::keeps her comments to herself::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::merely nods::

Emerson: Can I get anything for you, before I head back upstairs?

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::gods she's such a b*tch::

Brian Ravenlock: "No, I think we're okay, I'll just brief Charlotte on
what' to come."

Brian Ravenlock: "The nanites should be helping, and if we can
get the DNA replicated fast enough we can have her out in a few
hours time."

Emerson: ::nod:: That little cabinet next to the piano has some
pillows and blankets and such, and anything in the fridge is open
season. Also the cooler has bottled water and such... I think I
already said that, though.

Charlotte Ravenlock: "What nanites?"

Brian Ravenlock: ::chuckles:: "Yeah ya did toby."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::looking up at her husband curiously::

Brian Ravenlock: "Well baby, I'll explain."

Emerson: I'll stop down a bit later with a revised estimate on how
long it'll take us. ::stepping to the door:: Till then, enjoy the place.
::smile::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Hoping he doesnt really #$%^&* her day up
with this one."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Nods and smiled:: "Thanks Cap'n"

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::He shouldn't hold his breath::

Brian Ravenlock: "Babe?"

Brian Ravenlock: "Have a seat.." ::smiles::

Emerson: ::he tipped his hat, and disappeared::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::decides to lay down instead::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "So tell me what nanites are."

Brian Ravenlock: "Machines.. Tiny machines, that arent visible
to the naked eye.. They work inside you, and help you. They arent
dangerous if used the right way. Those pills you took had about 4,
maybe 5 thousand of em."

Charlotte Ravenlock: WHAT!?

Brian Ravenlock: "That's what is tingling, and that's why you feel
a tab better. You even have more colour to your face."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::blinkblinkblink::

Brian Ravenlock: "They help you. They are fighting the spread,
since they arent magic or medicinal."

Brian Ravenlock: "When they are done, they disolve inside of
you."

Brian Ravenlock: "And are gone just like that."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::the tingling feels a hundred times
magnified now::

Brian Ravenlock: "These will last enough to see us to Ragol."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::but its just her mind::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "What will they do to me there?"

Brian Ravenlock: "That's what I want to talk to you about."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::makes room for him on dah couch::

Brian Ravenlock: "First they are going to sedate you. You will
sleep for a bit."

Brian Ravenlock: ::As he sits next to her::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::nod::

Brian Ravenlock: "They are going to use the bones I recovered,
and recreate the marrow."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::nods again::

Brian Ravenlock: "They is the tiniest chance, they might not be
able to do so, but I believe in my heart of hearts they can and will,
it isn't a hard process for their level of technology."

Brian Ravenlock: "I took two femurs, so I got enough of what we
need."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::tiniest flicker of sadness, but then its back
to overall, general distress.::

Brian Ravenlock: "Look, I didnt want to do what I did, but it had to
be done."

Brian Ravenlock: "This will save you..." ::smiles::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "No...it wasn't that, Honey. I just don't want
to get there and find out they can't doanything."

Brian Ravenlock: "So they will recreate the marrow, they will
inject it in you, and also will inject more nanites in you as well.
More than likely 10 thousand or maybe even more, and they will go to work as they destroy infected areas and replace it with the new marrow
and blood cells::

Brian Ravenlock: "Dont worry, they can do it.." ::he tried his
hardest to make her believe.. he knew there was an off chance
they could fail, but this was better than chemo, and whatever else
they may have subjected her to back in her realm::

Brian Ravenlock: "This is all while you sleep."

Brian Ravenlock: "When you wake, they will give you a series of
tests to make sure you have sustained the worst, and then allow
you to recover quietly."

Brian Ravenlock: "Maybe a day at best before you can leave."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Tell me the truth....will it hurt?" ::she
looked worried:: "When I used my magic, I was always able to
mute most of my pain. I can't do that anymore. I don't know what
real pain was until lately."

Brian Ravenlock: "Your body will free drained, and sore for a while
or so.. But the nanites will dampen the pain, but there will be pain."

Brian Ravenlock: "Where I am taking you is a place for what we
call hunters. They are soldiers for the Govt. and are needed badly."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Are you staying?

Brian Ravenlock: "So they have to be fixed and back on the field,
so pain is a huge issue. One cant fight if they are in constant
pain."

Brian Ravenlock: "I wont stay, I will stay with you, and I will leave
with you."

Brian Ravenlock: "However, we need to make one stop. I called in
a huge favour for this, and I must repay it, as we are there."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Of course."

Brian Ravenlock: "So everything willing, we will be home in 2
days time."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Good. I miss my kitties."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Smiles:: "I miss them too."

Brian Ravenlock: "As to your magic I think, there might be an
alternative."

Brian Ravenlock: "Something to at least explore, till we get a grip
on your situation."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Whazzat?"

Brian Ravenlock: "Mechanics."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::browarch:: "What?"

Brian Ravenlock: "Using artifacts. Rings, bracelets, charms."

Brian Ravenlock: "I was hoping to have a moment to talk to you
about this."

Brian Ravenlock: "When we get home, I have a few things to
show you."

Brian Ravenlock: "Namely an elemental ring, that allows the
wearer to fire off an elemental blast of wind at will."

Brian Ravenlock: "Granted they need to be recharged, and can
break. But there are others, and loads of them to boot."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::As she laid her head in his lap, using her
blanket as a pillow:: "Really? That's wonderful, love. You are too
good to me."

Brian Ravenlock: "I thought about it, since I have no magick
whatsoever."

Brian Ravenlock: "It's always nice to have a back up."

Brian Ravenlock: "Anyways, it's just a quick fix. I dont think there
are any that will summon."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::nodding sleepily:: "That's ok."

Brian Ravenlock: "Now why doncha get some sleep, and I will a
well."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "How long will it take to get there?"

Brian Ravenlock: "We will be there soon."

Brian Ravenlock: "A few whours at best."

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::wrinkles her nose and snuggles down all
cozy::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Smiles lovingly and leans back into the couch::

Charlotte Ravenlock: ::Opens one eye and smiles up at him::
"G'night cradle robber."

Brian Ravenlock: "Good night, Old maid."

Brian Ravenlock: ::Blue eyes glanced to the window, as he
looked a bit lost::

Charlotte Ravenlock: "You ok?"

Brian Ravenlock: ::In truth he didn't want to go back, not after
Dark Falz, but this was far more important than bad memories,
and nightmares long since forgotten::

Brian Ravenlock: (s)"Yeah, just a tad anxious."

Brian Ravenlock: "let's get some sleep."

Charlotte Ravenlock: "Alright, lover." ::Since she's too lazy to sit
up, she angles her head and presses a kiss to his stomach
through his shirt, then goes to sleep.::

Brian Ravenlock: ::Smiles to her, and drifts off as well::
