Edea left the room ands approached Brian, Narin and Jeskola. She smiled wearily and wiped her forehead a bit. "Well little brother, she will be fine. Atheala is tending to some stitches and a few bandages. All in all she is fine, but.." "But what?" Brian answered quickly, as he moved to her and assisted her to a near chair. Edea smiled and answered "Well do you know what she is exactly? I mean her bod.." Brian nodded and cut his sister short with a pleasant and most grateful smile as he helped her sit down. "Yes, sister I know. She and I have talked and she knows of me as well. An.. I love her." Edea smiled and nodded sage like to Brian, her eyes held a twinkle as she looked at him. "I know little brother, if you didn't you wouldn't have been moping around Bastok when you last us." Edea laughed a bit as she said that past part.
Atheala entered the living room as well and laughed a bit. "Wow! That cat of your is HUGE! What the hell do you feed that thing? Anyways, so what's the plan tonight? Oh wait, yeah! Your friend is okay, I slipped her something to help her sleep a bit, bit of rolanberry added for kick. Man, she got whooped something bad.. I wonder what." "That's enough Atheala, let it go." Narin said, as he motion for Atheala to join him on the other side of the room. "Sorry Bri, y'know how Atheala gets, kinda like Gorg.. Foot in mouth all the time." Brian chuckled and answered back "It's okay, I am just glad you showed up when ya did. I'm also impressed ya found my place so quickly." Jes came back into the room literally riding Sorreah like a horse, and waved. "That's cause I went sight seeing when I last came here, Raven-sama." Brian just started at Sorreah, the big cat looked completely content with the little teddy bear like Taru on her back and Jes was having a blast. "Raven-sana, Nee-chan this is WAY better than a Chocobo. Can I get one of these." Edea shook her head and laughed softly. "No my little Taru terror, but well see about getting a harness for you to slap on Atheala, instead."
Brian made arrangements for Narin and the others to stay at the old boarding house Briallyn owned. He didn't want them staying too close to the Inn until they knew exactly what everyone else's plans were. They left the Villa and headed back into town and Brian moved back to Charlotte's room and watched her sleep a bit. Then it hit him.. "Renna." Brian rose and went to the living room, and called for Jean. After leaving the Cat in charge, Brian warded the Villa once more and set out for the Inn. Upon his arrival he was informed Renna was no longer there, as he exited the Inn once more, he pondered where she might have gone, and then he recalled the last time he and Charlotte patched Renna up was at the Great Hall, so that in turn was his next stop.
Brian arrived moments later to the Great Hall and found Renna at the entrance in a heap. She had some fresh bandages, but still looked a right mess and of all things she had a pentram etched into her forehead, an to top it off it was seeping with blood. Brian scooped her up and walked into the Hall. "Damn Renna, you're a *&#$@! mess.." Brian walked past the stage area and into the changing area and laid her on a table. Brian then opened his bag of holding and rummaged through it, a moment later Brian shut the door, and locked it. He then began to work on Renna.
Over an hour later Brian left the Hall, Renna was talking once more and looked to have been alright considering what she went through. She and Brian also talked and truth be told it left Brian in a fairly foul mood. Brian walked from the Hall to the Inn stables and secured his horse and set off for home. The sun had begun to set and cast a golden hue to the sky, this was Brian's favourite time of the day, but today he paid it no mind. Spurring the horse even faster Brian had one goal in mind, to get back to the Villa. Soon he arrived and went to Charlotte's room. His eyes softened as he watched her laying there. Her cheek was repaired but still bore a nice sized bruise, and her wrist had to be braced just for caution. She had various bandages on her arms as well, but she did look comfortable. Brian knew she had been through a great ordeal and he wasn't there. That burned deep within him.. He knew she said she was done with Damien, but this was in fact not the case. Brian wondered if in fact they would ever be done with Damien. Brian knelt by Charlotte's side and held her hand gently, as tears welled in his eyes. Lowering his head, as he continued to hold her hand, he softly cried.
Brian cried himself to sleep as he knelt at Charlotte's bed side. He woke about 2 hours later, and rose slowly. Releasing her hand gently, he them leaned to her and kissed her head gently. He then reached over and pet the Jean-Luc and exited the room. Brian made his way into his own room and slid his shirt off, feeling the shirt stick to his body he frowned and knew exactly what the cause was. He moved to a mirror to have a better looked and shook his head in a bit of disgust. Along his arms and chest were several cuts, some deeper than others. Dried blood caked along his arms and body, even the movement of his arms would cause some to re open slightly and cause discomfort. "I'm a fool.." he said softly, as he undressed and went to bathe.
Once he washed off, he looked a great deal better. The scars were still present, some bled out a bit, others were just there. Some even had begn to fade. Brian sighed a silent thank you and began to bandage himself.
"You made a mistake again, did you not?"
Brian lowered his head a moment, and closed his eyes as he heard the voice and answered. "I was wondering when you would contact me."
"You are a fool, you never should have done what you did. That gift is not yours to do with as you please. You lost all rights to that, when you left our discipline."
"I had no choice, there was no other way."
"Then they should have died. You coudln't even handle the consequences. Look at your body! Riddled with scars from that.. that thing! Take heed, do not make the mistake of crossing us again. Do not take matters into your own hands again. You are not a mage by any means, especially since you lost all rights to use any types of magick since you gave youself to that damned artifact. I do not want to have this discussion again, child."
"I understand, Mother."
Brian shook his head, and wrapped his arms in bandages. He hated it when she called him a child and to talk to him that way to boot! Still he knew exactly what she meant. He had no real right to do what he did and if Katharine were about she would agree as well. It was a foolish gambit that luckily paid off. Brian treated the wounds on his chest and put another shirt on and made his way to Charlotte's bedside once more. The previous butt chewing outta his mind as he knelt next to Charlotte and soon drifted off to sleep once more.
"Brian!" she screamed at the top of her lungs through her tears. Charlotte sat upright in her bed, writhing in pain....the dreams were so real. Her splinted left wrist burned in pain, her ribs causing her to scream in agony. "Brian!"
He snapped awake and leaned to her, his arms reaching to hold her in his own bandaged arms. "I'm here! Charlotte I'm here! It's okay, you made it. Kissing her head gently, as he held her, he then spoke in a whisper. "We're alright.. We made it.. You did fine, and you're home.."
Once more tears welled in his eyes, as he continued to hold her.
