Rolan follows the woman out of the Ball Room to a hall. Staying far behind, as not to be seen, he follows her and her maid servant to a set of apartments. The maid servant leaves and he steps into the room and latches the door. "Don't pack too much; I will not carry it for you!"

Aubrianna spins quickly towards the voice. She stares at the man for a moment, "Someone with more surprises I presume?" She gave him a harsh look as she crossed her arms over her chest.

He just knew this was going to be difficult. She just stood there with all her "Noble Woman" arrogance. "Surprises? The only thing that would surprise me would be if you just came along without question." He moved closer to her. "But your probably not gunna do that now are you?"

She took a step back uncrossing her arms as he came closer. "Absolutely not!" She gave him an absurd look. "Who are you?" She slipped her hand behind her back, sliding the small dagger in the side of her bodice into her hand. "I will scream for the guards if you come any closer."

"I don?t think you want to do that since the guards will probably want to kill you as bad as they would want to kill me. I am here to help you, and I am not leaving without you. Now come along," he stepped even closer. "Make a noise and we are both dead!" He reaches to take her by the arm.

After hearing all the talk of danger and cutting out tongues she is weary about not believing him. She needed to find out why her life had suddenly become such a risk to others. She actually thought of going with him for a moment, but when he reached for her she felt more trapped than when Shafer had proposed. She pulled the knife from behind her back and swiped at him with it. Not actually aiming, not actually meaning to harm him, but to scare him away.

Rolan jumped back a pace. "Woman have you gone mad, I said I was here to help. Now put that thing away before ?My Lady? hurts herself!" He was going to have to talk with Davram about this when they got back.

"You mock me?" She glared holding the dagger pointed towards him. "Who do you think you are to waltz in here and start demanding things of me?" She took a step towards him. Yes, she felt brave; after all...she 'was' the one with the weapon.

"Oh no 'My Lady' I would never mock you,? a wry grin broke on his face despite trying to hide it. "Please let me take that from you and we can be on our way. The guards will be here soon and I really would not like to be the one to greet them."

"I am not going anywhere with you," she looked as if she were speaking to a fool. "You seem to be the one out of wits tonight. I will see to it personally that you meet every one of my guards before they hang you for attempted kidnapping." She thrust the dagger towards him.

This woman clearly was not used to handling a knife. You thrust at an enemy with a sword not a dagger. Rolan spun to the side and snaked his hand around the dagger and firmly latched on to her wrist. With a quick flick, the dagger was in his hand. He spun past her and stood there dangling the dagger in the air in from of her. "I said you were coming with me. I also said the guards were a bad idea. Now, if you please 'My Lady' it is time to be going before someone does come.? He reached for her arm again.

She scoffed as he mocked her again but this time with the dagger. She glared only for a moment and then something sparkled in her eyes and she gave him a smirk, 'Watch this', sort of grin. After a pause, she opened her mouth wide and took a deep breath.

His blood ran cold as she prepared to scream her lungs out. He threw the dagger on the bed and ran to cover her mouth before she got them both killed. Women always seemed to find the best ways to cause a man trouble.

Only a peep escaped before the man grabbed her. She began fighting against him, and trying to push him off. The mumbles from under his hand couldn?t be understood. Skinny, and not good with a dagger she sure proved to be strong enough for him to have to take drastic measures.

The woman thrashed violently in his grip. He had to make her quiet somehow soon or it was going to be the gallows for him, and likely a dagger in the back for her. He grabbed a stocking from the bed and readied himself. He removed his had and he felt her inhale again to scream. This time he was ready. As she opened her mouth to scream he stuffed the wadded stocking into her mouth. The scream was muffled to a low mumble.

She gave the scream all she had and when the stocking was shoved in she coughed and spat. Shoving hard against him she tried to get free. When it proved futile she threw back her head aiming for his face. When his grip loosened she broke free and headed to the door. Unfamiliar with the apartments and running in only moon light shining through the window Aubrianna tripped and fell? contacting a large chest with her head. She fell motionless to the floor, blood spilling from a large gash on her forehead.

When Rolan saw that she wasn't getting up from the fall, he began to feel panic trying to nudge its way into his mind. Now he had an unconscious body to carry rather than a person that could carry their own weight. "Well, at least I can secure you now."

He noticed the blood seeping from her forehead. "Great, she will never shut up about that gash when she wakes. No doubt she will say it was my fault. Bloody Nobles," he bent with a strip of cloth and wiped the blood away. The gash was already starting the healing process. He made a make-shift bandage and wrapped it around her head. How was he going to get her out unnoticed? His eyes passed around the room and looked to a large carpet on the floor. A smile pulled across his face as an idea suddenly came to him.

"I will be going to the gallows for this!" He said to himself as he was walking through the servant?s halls with a pack on his back and a large rolled rug on his shoulder. "Bloody Noble Woman. She's going to get my neck stretched while she is sleeping in this bloody rug!"

He made his way to the outside to the wagon and horse he had waiting. He wanted to put a little distance between him and the city before he unrolled her from the carpet. After an hour or so and only woods were on either side of the road Rolan heard a thumping in the back of the cart. He drew reign and jumped down to the ground. She was going to give him an earful, so he decided to be 'not so gentle' in unrolling her. He grabbed the end of the carpet and gave it a hard yank. Aubrianna tumbled out of the carpet into the bed of the wagon. "How is my favorite person 'My Lady??? A wry grin split his face.

Her muffles slowly become louder as the layers of carpet thin. A grunt escaped when she hit the side of the wagon bed. Her hands went to her head and she made it to her knees groaning in pain. She glanced to him but he was a blur. Her head was throbbing and she couldn't remember what had happened to get her here. "Better than you are going to be." She managed as she held to the side of the wagon to keep her balance.

"Oh, you must be confused 'My Lady'. You hit your head quite hard 'My Lady'.? He gave a flourishing, yet mocking bow as he finished his statement. "Why ever would you think such a dreadful thing 'My Lady'?" A cheesy grin splitting his face.

"Stop saying that!" She shouted and winced as pain shot through her head. No one had ever called her My Lady that many times in one single day. She already felt sick and his grin made her want to relieve her stomach. "Do they not teach forest dwelling thieves manners?" She grumbled as she stood, holding on to the side of the wagon.

"Oh I am so sorry 'My Lady'. I will try my best to never use the title 'My Lady' again. If that pleases you 'My Lady'." He swept another mocking bow.

She looked to him a glared with a confused stare, was he mentally ill? "What is wrong with you people?" She gathered the dark green dress she was still wearing from last night. Slowly making her way to the end of the wagon she wobbly sits on the end. She scoots off down to her feet. "What do you want from me?" She looked around trying to take in any familiar surroundings.

"You people? Oh yes 'My Lady' is a Noble and I am just a lowly thief. That must be what you mean," he glared at her. How dare she classify his as some lowlife. He was trying to save her bloody noble hide!

"Oh so we are having a pity you party now? I did not mean it like that," she huffed and turned to face him. Though she figured he wouldn't believe her anyway. She brushed her hands down her dress trying to straighten it. "What part do you play in all of this non-sense? Did my father send you to kill me? Oh wait I know you are here to take me to my aunt's." She raised her brows, he could tell she was angry, and maybe it wasn't entirely at him. "Maybe, just maybe you are my real father. Since apparently mine is a murderer." She turned her back to him and began taking down the pinned up curls in her hair.

A pity party? Was this woman serious? And he was probably her age why would she think he was her father? This woman had her nose so high in the air she was breathing a different kind of air all together! "Ok, first, I am not your father. I don?t know what all this "nonsense" is that you are talking about. All I know is that I was sent to get you before someone had the chance to stick a knife in your ribs, and I get repaid with insults and not a single ?thank you?." He crossed his arms and glared hard at her, daring her to make another smart remark.

He saw her hands freeze. She spun around to face him in an outraged look on her face. The curls had been released and hung over her shoulder, around her face, and down her back. Her blue eyes pierced him. He didn't know her, never had met her and yet her eyes seemed somehow familiar. "I know you are not my father you...you dolt," she scoffed. "I was being sarcastic. Second of all how am I supposed to believe you. You sneak into my room and demand me to leave with you. I will have you know there have been very very strange things going on in my house lately and I am not sure who to trust any more." She glared painfully at him. "Then..." she kept on.

She raised her hair and showed him the gash. "My head is killing me. My name Aubrianna, not my lady, and then you roll me up in this...," she gestured to the rug. "That, and kidnap me." She shook her head staring at him. "Do you know the punishment for kidnapping?"

"Yes...Aubrianna...I am quite familiar with the laws around here. But that doesn't change the fact that you were in danger and I had to come and get you. And as far as your head is concerned, you didn't have to struggle. Remember, you are the one who pulled the weapon, not me." He grinned at her, an attempt to pour salt in the wound. "It was your own fault you hit your head." He chuckled at the end.

She tilted her head. "Give me a sword and you will not be able to laugh," she said harshly. "If you had not have come into my room to take me away I would not have attempted to flee from you." She crossed her arms over her chest. "Maybe I do not want your help. Tell this to whoever sent you, I am not coming." The more Rolan looked at her the more he saw familiarities in her features, her voice, and her body language. She then turned and began to storm away from him.

"Hey! Come back here! Where are you going? You don't even know where you are. And-?

She continued to walk away from him. He was fuming. She didn't even care that he was trying to save her life. "Wait," he ran to step in front of her. "Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot." He put his hand out to her. "My name is Rolan, and I truly only want to help you. I know kidnapping is wrong but it was the only way I could get you out of there alive! I don't know about all this craziness that has been happening to you, but a very close and trusted friend asked me to do this favor for him, to rescue you, and I will not break my promise to him. I owe him my life!"

She had ignored him until he stepped in front of her. She stared at him and looked down at his hand; she didn't shake it, but looked back up to him. Squinting she leaned towards him a bit, staring harshly into his eyes. "If you are lying to me...I will cut out your tongue while you sleep. Just because I am a ?Noble?," she mocked him. "Does not mean I will not stoop to your level of breaking the law." Her tone was a bit scary, and he could see she meant what she was saying. She turned from him quickly and went back to the wagon.

As she walked away he turned to watch her. Women are scary and confusing. Oddly enough she seemed startlingly familiar. Like he had met her before, but that was impossible. Something was familiar about her hair and eyes, although he couldn't put a finger to it. "Bloody Nobles," he whispered to himself as he followed her back to the wagon.
