This thread is devoted to:

Story explanations for those complex bits and pieces
Any questions about stories/a particular thread
Addressing any major plot changes
For questions about the setting
Misc pointers.

This list will probably grow, but for the meantime, with everything becoming as intertwined as it is, I thought it best to have a place where important elements can be explained and discussed.

Feel free to ask away and/or leave some suggestions.

:)

At current:

The Orpheum is still being investigated. Andy has not been seen for a fortnight since his run in with Shylah.

The Big Top posts (Investigation into and Alekhine's Gun) are being built upon slowly but steadily, to be added to over the next few weeks.

The Mako murders and the follow on from them are free to be brought into your own stories. Please do if you wish.

Four Rangers are hitting Rhy'Din in a week for Madison's head. If anyone is up for capturing her to turn her over as per the playable, please let me know. This is still open.

I have yet to add some more details pertaining to the G.T Setting and locations within. I will be attending to this over the next few nights. If anyone has a location or quality to add, let me know, I'll list this in the Setting thread!

That's all.

Friday the 14th the Rangers Hexx arrive and Madison will be taken.

Thank you to everyone who has helped this part of the story along, you have all been just brilliant and I couldn't ask for a better group of people to write with, really.

Anyone is welcome to join in on the Action, Friday, for there will be lots of it. The week after this is game open, not over, with Madison's fate still murky in those crystal balls.

Come late August, a new storyline will emerge that will be focused on the shipyards, with the sicknesses at the docks, investigations into drug runners and a further exploration of the exploitation of youth on the streets of West End. Some story threads will culminate here and there is a big surprise in store. Hints will be dropped. Murder mystery as well as a severe and intense turn in Madison's tale taking place at the same time.

If anyone would like to bring their character into any of the stories aforementioned - Shipyard sicknesses/murders, West End drug rackets, street kid helping and last but not least, the Mako troubles, please feel free to send me a PM and we can certainly work something out.

Hi

The Dark End of the Street heralds the prelude to the aforementioned new storyline.

Hang the Jezebel is a delve into the Hexx Rangers, Lofton and those that come together to hand Madison her fate, as well as being a lead up to the incident of her capture, and all that follows on from this. This is set prior to any subsequent posts to occur a fortnight from now in Dark End of the Street.

Ghost Dances will be what it will be.

Death Valley Queens is an open SL that mostly will tie in that strange bond of hypnotist to the two women and how they are affected by it. It's just a moments' inspiration but anyone is welcome to add in, still it mostly has to do with how the presence of the hypnotist and Nameless one have left an imprint on their lives...

Enjoy.

Here is the closest I could get to a representation of the gun that Madison favours.

FYI - Posts in Anywhere I Lay My Head - Part 2, that have been made currently, are set before the kidnap.

Posts that take place after her return to Rhy'Din will be denoted as such.

Where the woodbine twines is just some fun writing to getaway from all the intensity of the last few weeks with Madison's kidnap. It's a unique idea that popped into my head a month or so ago and I decided that now would be the perfect time to get into it. BTW - Those posts revolving around the kidnap, what happened, what brought things to the point they are at, are coming. All will be revealed! :)

"Where the woodbine twines" is an old folklore saying, though not commonly known, which refers to the place you were where nobody knew where you went.

These posts are a way of bringing worlds together, where characters get to step into the real world.

Enjoy these light hearted forays! And who knows, some of you might pass Madison on the street someday...

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to leave a drive by thank you to those who have interacted with Madi over the last few days as the sixteen year old variety begins her journey in Rhy'Din. Particularly the players of Kyrie Elision and Tag Sentry who though the interactions have been short, have been very sweet. You have both been very instinctual in how you have cleverly, maybe even subconsciously brought things up which reflect both this version and the older version, and I love it. Thank you for playing along and sharing the story; it's why I start these crazy tales, so people can get involved and we can all have some fun and something to bring into our play.

I don't even know myself yet what is it to happen in future, because it all really does depend on the flip of a coin :)

No doubt, it will be terrific!

Peace

The Backpack

Madi's companion, a ragtag bag, repaired along the bottom and sweet with grass stains. If it had a logo it's long since worn off, and has left a horizonal grey space behind. There's a couple patchworked parts to it but not much else. It's what's inside that is interesting.

She's always coming across things, in various ways, and these often end up in her coat and are later tucked away into a secret little pocket in the bag.

So far:

Two Zoltar's Fortunes slips: One for WISH saying "Before you can know others, you must look inside yourself"

LOVE "True love felled by true love's hand"

FATE "Your wish will come true, but beware of the results."

A single action revolver. Worn ivory handle and a slightly burnt nose.

Whichever pair of shoes she isn't wearing at the time.

Another pair of jeans and a few neatly folded blouses and t shirts.

A small sewing kit with plain thread colours (black, blue, white, red) and needles.

An apple.

A small hairbrush.

A lighter. (If she's lucky, a whole pack of cigarettes.)

A peeled off label from a spirit, with an art nouveau design that she finds pretty.

An origami fish made out of a napkin from PlainJane kept safely in another pocket.

A sketch of three horses from Seeker folded with care.

And always a spare, lucky coin.

Here's the dress Madi will be wearing to the Harvest party. Yes, dress. :)

A $2 baby-blue number that fits like a dream, courtesy of her first (if meager) paycheck and a second hand store.

"By the pricking of thy thumbs" is a celebration of the month of October and the 1st of November, Day of the Dead. It is a homage to Ray Bradbury, a marvellous story teller! It is also an acknowledgement of the ball that has gotten rolling because of interludes between the characters of Artsblood, Magenta, PlainJane and Madison. And those that also join this eddy.

Hope you enjoy this frightful tale!

Note: This thread pretty much leads straight off from Death Valley Queens, Dark end of the street, Anywhere I lay my head and Epoch. Each of these threads culminated before Madi became Madi Younger. Now, Madi Older has returned and new posts within Anywhere I lay my head, Epoch, Dark end of the street and Pricking of thy thumbs range from this return onwards. Just so no one gets confused.

An update:

There are some story holes that I am going to be filling over the coming weeks. There have been a few significant reasons for some things dropping off the way they have, ranging from a lot of us being busier than usual (Myself, Sam Reed, Karras) and of course the shifting nature of rp.

Accendo, Acerbus plays off of By the pricking of thy thumbs and will be expanded upon. Investigation into the Orpheum and The Circus are, for now, closed, to be revisited at sometime, hopefully.

Hang the Jezebel is something I have not been able to finish because of the busy-ness mentioned. At some point I will do up an entire run down of the end.

Glenn Douglas

Wayward is going to be a third person story of Glenn's past and all the major events leading up to the man as he currently is. It will run primarily parallel to Counting the Stars, which is Glenn's internal monologue of his life.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy it.

Story Notes:

Broken Shadows is a thread revolving around the startling and unexpected return of Glenn Douglas and the ripples it creates in the lives of Tag, Glenn and Madison.
Shadows also delves into a life-changing revelation.

Sparrow Foot Trail is a thread which follows a journey Tag and Madison took some years ago and which the details of have never known light.. until now. It explores the attempted rescue of Michael (who two years later, was found by Glenn and Madison murdered - hanging by a rope in a Lofton hotel room) Madison's protege, and the development of Tag and Madi's friendship.

Just to be clear, as Wet Paint concludes.

Niiiice!

Guess Douglas is changing too.... ;)

Glenn Douglas

Date: 2016-10-16 14:10 EST
A few notes about the current Douglas story:

When the Wretched Rise Up begins on Saturday morning and officially ends early Thursday morning. In the interim, Glenn has not slept.

The Early Grave is, if it wasn't clear already, about Brandon Douglas coming back from the grave. He was killed about four years ago by Glenn with a fatal gunshot to the head, but Leo has resurrected him for his own nefarious purposes.

We're not sure on the timeline for this one, but assume that he's only been back a short while.

The Other Side of the Veil is a new journal for Glenn, who lost track of his old one after dying.

Unspoken Words is going to be a series of letters and poems (but mostly letters) that Glenn has written and most likely disposed of. He keeps very few of these and burns the rest.

If at any time you see Glenn referring to something called the "in-between," that is the name he's given to the place he went when he died at the bell tower.

And for any of you old gun aficionados out there, Glenn's Colt Dragoons (which rarely see the light of day anymore) were modified a long time ago, but I never detailed this process. The original design has them load similar to an musket, with powder being poured into a cylinder and then a ball pushed in with a sort of plunger. His have been modified (as many old cap firing guns were in this time) to take the standard cartridge, thus making them slightly more efficient tools.
