Sarah stepped outside of her cabin, and stopped just past the steps. She took in a deep breath of the spring air, enjoying the moment. The sun shown down brightly atop of her, and made her darkly colored hair almost glow. Violet eyes squinted so that she may see the horses in the pasture next to her cabin. The Clydesdale known as Everett was happily following around the now in season mare, who seemed quite irritated to have a nose following her around so often. Sarah smiled, knowing that she was to be taking care of a foal again come late winter, early spring of next year.

She took the halter, and grooming equipment from the small tack-room, and fetched Everett from the pasture. He was always quite easy to catch, even though reluctant to leave his new mare friend. Sarah brushed his body, watching the long winter hairs fall from his body, but mostly gathering on the brush. Everett sneezed as a meat bee tickled at his nose. She chuckled lightly, and patted the large horse's neck.

"Well big boy, shall we go for a ride?" She smiled at the horse, and began to saddle him up. After doing so, she put the bridle on him, checked the cinch for tightness and finally mounted the beast with a bit of difficulty. Had been a while since she mounted such a tall horse. After settling into the saddle, they trotted off into the woods. Once they were in a meadow, she let him open up. They galloped through the fresh wild flowers, enjoying the wind blowing through her long hair. Her hands moved over Everett's thick mane.

Even now, she could not stop thinking of her old friends, and the Maritime Tavern. From the day she met Harold on the beach, to some of the last days she could remember with them in the Tavern, drinking bloodwyne. It was strange to think that so many moons had come and gone since then. It was even stranger to think, that just a few years ago she couldn't imagine herself riding a stead for fun, and not into battle.

They finally came to a walk, and stopped at a stream. She dismounted Everett, letting him drink from the stream of cool mounted water. Sarah knelt down beside the stream, cupped her hand into the water and brought it to her lips. The water was cool, and tasted fresh.
