Sarah woke to the feeling of something soft nudging at her jaw. She groaned slightly, her eyes opening to look at the huge beast standing over her. Everette nudged her once more, shaking the reins down towards the ground.

"Everette...you silly horse, why did you stay?"

As if he would talk back. A bloodied hand gripped at his reins softly, and then the beast lowered himself to his knees, his ears perking toward her. Sarah then slowly moved toward his back, both of her hands holding onto the horn of the saddle. Slowly, and painfully she ,moved her leg over the saddle until she was sitting on his back.

"Be Gentle..."

Again, if he could actually understand her, though at the moment she could've sworn that he did. Slowly the horse got to his feet, and Sarah could do nothing more but slump in the saddle, resting her forearms on his neck, just by the saddle horn. She rested her head on her arms, and slowly Everette walked away from the battle field.

So many things ran through her mind. How was it she was still alive? She then thought about the Maritime again. She longed to be back there, living in that time forever. Maybe thats what heaven was like, though, she knew she would never make it there, not after these last few months of self destruction, and killing. She began to black out again, trusting Everette to take her someplace safe.
