The postman didn't find Harry at the Eastern Point Lighthouse; instead, he was found at Sev's beach house and handed the invitation. Then the courier left, leaving behind the somewhat curious, if not under the weather Welshman to look at the envelope.
He had to smile at it. He only hoped that both of them would take care of each other well, for many a century; both Sarah and Cinder meant a good deal to him, and he didn't want them to end up in a bad place.
So, he went back inside and penned a letter.
--
Dear Sarah and Cinder,
All my congratulations. Archie, I'm afraid, is incommunicado for the time being but I'm certain that he would offer his best wishes to you both as well.
I will doubtless be seeing you soon -- let me kick this cold I picked up, and then we can all celebrate the happy occasion together. But still, here's some advice to hopefully help you on your journey together:
Never go to bed angry. Never stop talking; lack of it leads to apathy and distance. No matter how hurt you feel, or how much you want to protect each other from your own sorrows, share them -- as hard as it is, the battle shared is the battle that will eventually be won. Take turns listening to one another and never stop yourself from holding onto your lover when either you or they need it.
Share a pillow. Share the chores. Share the task of doing the dishes together -- there are few better times to talk about your day, tell jokes, or open your hearts.
Be patient, with yourselves and each other. Love is all encompassing; it may never be perfect, but the more time you work together on it, the better and stronger it will be.
Never forget to tell each other how much you love each other. Even just out of the blue, and always before you fall asleep.
Don't allow yourselves to be afraid to talk of your own past loves; no two loves are the same and the old ones are what made us capable of loving in the here and now.
Most of all, though, don't ever stop fighting for the love you share now. It will have its trials, and there will sometimes be anger or frustration or just plain bad days. But if you keep in mind, always, that you are dear to each other, you will get through anything life can throw your way.
I'll let you know when we can get together to throw a party.
Good luck, my friends; all my love, and best hopes for you.
