The fleet steps of a cloaked figure approached the Citadel doors, quickly sliding the scrolled parchment within its shadowy gates before retreating back into the sanctuary of a dimensional gate.

Master Raithmoore,

Greetings from the Shaitan Covenant. Your return to this realm has recently been brought to my attention, so let me begin this with a greeting in hopes that your arrival was favorable. Sabbaticals of captivity are often apprehensive, yet ultimately rewarding upon liberation. As a erudite of dark magic, I am fairly well versed in the maturation of Lichdom and understand the comingled possession of a physical form takes time to envelope in your own malevolent arcana.

Because of this, a partnership would have mutual advantages for the both of us.

Recently I have uncovered the desolate remains of an ancient edifice that has been reduce to ruin, and within these uninhabited catacombs I believe there to be the writings of a forgotten relic that I seek to possess. Because of the expansive width of the detritus foundation I will need a great volume of assistance in its excavation, thus the reason why I am summoning the service of masterless apprentices in their graduate year and offering them the opportunity to help unearth a superfluity of dark knowledge and immoral lore.

Your assistance would come in the form of a grand overseer. One who directs duties and strategizes agendas and designs. This would offer not only a nucleus of dark power for you to take habitation in while waiting to adapt to your new body, but a chance to uncover lost knowledge for yourself. Save for the specific item that I seek, all other gained talents would be open for distribution.

If such an affiliation interests you please let me know. I await your response.

Lord Daraul,

Your timing is impeccable, without a doubt. When word first reached my ears of the Shaitan Covenant (though at the time the name was unknown to me), I was unable to act and send any word to you. That your message arrived when it did was a most pleasing bonus to my rebirth.

I like to think of myself as a scholar, first. I cannot pass up such a fortuitous opportunity and would enjoy aiding you and yours in uncovering the no doubt many lost secrets hidden within these ruins.

I would, however, like to have my own, much smaller group join yours as well, my apprentice in particular.

I look forward to your response.
