It was just another day, like every other day. The sun was barely up and Jenai had been up for at least 2. Seeing to her family and home life first before throwing on the mantle of Command.
As she stepped outside the doors of their Valley Home. Home away from home. Brian would be finishing up breakfast with the girls and head into town, Jenai normally would have joined them, but she made it a point to eat in the Mess Hall with her troops at least once a week for breakfast, twice a week for dinner. She'd would make her trips random so they would not cook better food or keep people out knowing she would be there.
She wanted to eat what they ate, she wanted to hear what they had to say. Morning was the best time to hear them in earnest. She never cut in line, making sure the younger or lower ranks would go ahead of her to eat, respectful smiles and honest spoken good morning. Everyone seemed in high spirits.
She sat down with a tray of the typical morning whataretheseeggs and bacon, coffee and toast, she'd found Tlysia sliding into a seat next to her. The giant was groggy looking but very much awake and alert.
"Morning Ty."
"Morning Commander."
"Up for a beating today?"
"Of course!"
Ty, since Tly was too hard to pronounce, had volunteered to be one be one of the last to test the armor base they'd finally got.
The base was just that. Base plates for upper and lower legs and arms, torso, and shoulders. Each base could fit comfortably over a body suit or second skin but separate from the other bases allowing for maximum movement, flexibility and customization. The base would have a pretty standard multi-use slide locking set up for quick attachments of , well what ever they needed. Ty was the largest of the command core. More than likely she would be the finally straw to see what would be considered standard fit or would the need to make more sizes.
"I still need to hear how Storm's test with them went and then we can go on to attachments." She looked over the hall as people came and went. Even some of the civilians would eat here, pitching in a few bucks here and there to help. The food was good and thick, sticking with you through-out the day. Speaking of Civilians...
