(Thanks for the play, Rafe!)
Rafe was walking around the market, just looking around an junk. Storm had taken a walk to clear her head. So much on her shoulders and the doubts were there. Was she doing the right thing? Was she doing a good job?
Rafe pauses, taking a quick look around the area Aaaaaaand there went the mother figure alarm. He knew that feeling and everything but where was it coming from. "Oh there!" He turned and headed towards her with a smile.
Storm locked away those concerns and had a warm smile for Rafe as he approach. "Hey you."
"Hey there, Aunt Storm. How goes?"
"The usual, you? How's things going?" She asked quietly.
"Good I guess, training and working. Could use a little more sleep though. Haven't been getting a lot of that, lately."
"There is a lot going on." She murmured, "Just think I'm probably getting a lot less than you." She quipped.
"Well you are doing a lot more with Jenai taking her leave. But it's all working out right? We're all still here. I think you're doing a great job, and that's not cause you're my mentor you know." He added in a rush.
"I second guess myself on a lot of things, Rafe. But then there is a lot of people relying on me." She admitted quietly.
"Yeah that's true. But they all have faith in you and will do anything you ask. So you have a team."
"I know, I also lead by example. I'm not sitting up on high." She stretched a bit
"Well we are a hands on family, right?"
"Best way to be. " She agreed quietly. "No issues with anyone."
"Isn't that the best way to be? I mean even Ursi has been good, and that's a stretch for her. Even with how much she misses Kerri." He replied.
"She can be serious when she wants to be, it's just more fun to drink." She nods.
"Speaking of Kerri, I wonder when she'll be able to come back and Brian can get his assignment back? I haven't heard anything much since he was taken out of there." He asked.
"I haven't heard much either, Rafe. He's being quiet on it." She muttered still not happy about it, but she did taken no for an answer when neccessary.
He took a glance to the sky a moment and then looked back to her, "Feels like a storm's coming."
Storm glanced around and nodded, "It does indeed." She rubbed at her temples for a moment.
"(s) I'm worried." He said softly.
"Oh, Rafe?" She looked at him.
"(s) I saw my dad." He said softly and with a matter of fact, "In a dream, where I was in Milliport. That's a town in Darkenwood where we came from."
"What happened?" She asked gently.
"I saw him, and he was with a woman. He called her Ren and there was a child with them. They were walking away from me and were near this courtyard. He turned around and he actually smiled." He described what he saw in the dream.
"Ren?" She looked at him curiously, "How old did he look?"
He nodded, "He looked a lot like Brian does now I guess. Shorter hair and stuff. She had black hair, and her eyes were red too. Reminded me of my mother honestly."
She sighed, "Renna." The description had her thinking. "Did something else happen?"
"He said I needed to get inside soon because it was going to rain. She told him more like a flood and he shook his head. The child said something too but I didn't understand it. Something about blood and tears."
"Blood and tears. I don't think this was just a dream." She murmured softly looking at him.
"They walked away from me and he told me again, to make sure I got inside and not to come out until it's over. She told him he shouldn't tell me to hide."
"He's trying to protect you, she really doesn't care." She murmured shaking her head. "I hate it when the dreams to that." She said as if familiar with it.
"The water in the fountain, it turned red and then I woke up." He continued describing what he saw and Storm felt that cold touch within her. Premonition of things to come, perhaps?
