Dr. Malik Blue

The man walked into the place. It was quite deserted like this during the day. He wore a white overcoat and under his arm was a medium sized box wrapped in black and alien foil, bound with gold chains. Locked up tight with a diamond encrusted padlock with no visible key too it. The fact that he walked in alone and nothing of a security system even bothered to go off was a feat all on its own. The man scanned the place with his pale blue eyes and smiled, it was still as nice as he remembered it to be. Then he heard footsteps approaching him.

"Welcome to Club Babylon, sir. Um, we'll be open tonight, do you perhaps have an appointment with the owners of the place." She asked, even after hours the staff was still required to dress the part of being a professional and he smiled. Despite this man's odd appearance here in the club and the fierce aura he seemed to be giving off was giving her the chills for reasons she could not explain she would do her best to not run in terror.

The man smiled at her, so slightly and even though it was polite, it made her hair on the back of her neck stand up. She'd encountered all kinds of terrible things coming here to indulge in their secret unknowable pleasures, but this man she was reacting to as none of those customers, not even the most sadistic monsters that came in. Perhaps it was the fact that she didn't know anything about him. Maybe it was those piercing and dead eyes that did it to her. "No, No appointment, thanks for asking though. The owners and I, well we used to get along back in the day. I had to take an unexpected leave and didn't have a chance to say goodbye. I am only here for a short time and am sad that I am going to miss her completely." He said, saying everything, yet at the same time nothing at at all and the cryptic nature of his words just made her feel all the worse.

She looked at him then the box under his arm. "A package, all deliveries have to go through security and--" She was cut off as his eyes met hers and she felt some old part of her genetic memory scream, the past unknown to her was screaming at her to stop talking. This terror came through her as if she'd always been afraid of the chaos that lurked in some unknowable place in her mind and it was just now coming to the surface for the very first time and she took a step back. "Security won't be needed, dear. This is no bomb or weapon. That is the mark of a coward, striking without warning and hiding in the dark. No, dear I enjoy a more direct approach," He said and she never saw it but the man, if it was a man at all was instantly closer to her and she never saw him move in her paralyzing fear. He put his hand on her face and she dropped to her knees at once, giving in to the primal terror that ate at her soul finally.

"Be a good girl and give this to Rose, will you? It won't open up to anyone but her, she's always been the key to so many things." He said and walked past her silently to the counter and set the box there. "Y--yes I will promise." She said, trying to get her words out of her mouth with great effort.

"Good. I trust you." He said, took one last look around and smiled again, approving of the place as he walked back towards the door. "Wait, I didn't get your name." She asked him in a hurry, the failure on her part would have cost her the job she needed in more ways than one. The man stopped and looked over his shoulder then.

"I am Malik...Malik Blue. I don't think I will be coming here again. You were a brave little girl. I respect that you had the conscious mind to ask me my name." He said and turned around with a smile. "Would you like to make a deal?" He asked her then and she somehow found the strength to stand, as if the question granted her unnatural courage, perhaps on loan? "Deal, what kind of--" He cut her off. "Anything you want, for something I may want in return someday. Like a demonic deal but far more complicated." He said and got to the point.

Riches flashed through her mind, gold and powers, the imagination reeled with impossible things for a moment, but then she realized the old stories, the ones the used to float down the street on quiet whispers in run down, moldy buildings of the West end. The deal maker, the monster and horror of Rhydin, something of a legend. A terrible urban legend and she took a step back and knew his name, his true name. "No, but thank you for asking." She said politely and he smiled. "Smart girl. Deals only complicate things anyway." He said with a laugh and walked towards the door but disappearing before he could exit.

She took a deep breath in and had to reach out to grab a chair to steady herself for a moment. When she was ready she stood up and walked to the box on the counter but dared not touch it. She was smart enough to know that sometimes things were better off not messed with. She walked to the phone and slowly picked it up, not knowing what she would say or how to say it. She dialed the number anyway.

"Hello, Someone was just here. I need to talk to Rose. Now!" She said into the phone. "No, listen you don't understand. Someone was here. He left a package--" She was cut off by someone on the other end. "Damn it he said he wanted to make a deal!" This phrase changed everything, the mood of the conversation turned. "I understand. I'll close up everything until she gets here, I won't touch the package I didn't plan to anyway." She said. "Yes. I understand how important this could be. Don't worry. I'll activate it all if I need to." She said and hung the phone up and looked at the alien package sitting there on the bartop then and could only wonder what was left inside.

Until then she had to wait until the higher ups came, protecting the box with her life, as it the one on the other end of the phone ordered her to do so she freed the Cosmic fire shotgun from under the bar, checked if it was loaded, and it was and waited anxiously for them to show up.

He tapped and ran his fingers on the desk listening to that frightened thing he had put in charge of receiving after hours guests. The average onlooker would see an unconcerned vampire simply soothing a frightened girl... unless of course you were to see the gouges he was taking out of his desk with those ivory nails. Of course he already knew there was trouble, he felt it in his bones, he felt it when the man entered the club. It was familiar, terribly familiar... something, someone big.

?Listen to me now, little one. If this is from who I think it is it isn't anything to fuck with. I need you to do a few things for me, then I'll take the rest. I want you to close the doors, no one in or out of that room. Then I want you to sit on that package till I get there, no one is to touch it. Do you understand me? No one.? He paused for a moment before continuing. Taking a pointed breath while reaching out across the city to Rose Impressing on her his desire to meet with her at the club. Then with calm and deadly purpose he continued to talk with this scared little human. ?Protect that damn box like your life depends on it Kim, use the silent alarm to bar the doors if you have to.?

He then got up and made for a specific door her had Ms. Black help him construct, specifically for this purpose. Confident that she would be there promptly.

A thin waif of herself, she followed the music playing through the crowd gathered at a place she did not remember the name of. When she sensed a familiar mind seeking hers a portal opened up like a window inside of Babylon. The thudding of loud music filled the room and hazy figures and dancing lights could be seen surrounding her. Rose looked back over her shoulder, iridescent green eyes, almost pastel in their color now due to the long term effects of constant Zydrate use, fell upon Eric with the arch of an inquisitive brow.

The sway of her hips, still as enticing as ever, as she turned to face the portal, without missing a beat. She moved on through, entranced by the pull from the man who was awaiting her. Even a hairs breath from death, her smooth steps were a dance that graced the floors of Club Babylon. The fluid movements betrayed life still animating her body. But all was silent now as the portal collapsed behind her.

Those skinny limbs gliding across the room, still swaying to a song that only she could hear, towards that magnetic vampire... abruptly, as if someone had called to her, her eyes snapped in the direction of the box in question with a sudden flash of intensity. A quick snap as eyes, burning now with a mixture of emotions, flashed back to Eric as she fixed him with a questioning gaze. Snap, eyes growing brighter as their attention moved back to the mysterious box, following as Eric held out his hand, indicating for her to go on.

That was all she needed - her confirmation that it was real. She could feel it pulsing with an energy that she had begun to believe may have been naught but a dream... Approaching it slowly, she holds out her hand to it in such a fashion as to let it examine her, rather than the other way around. Dangerous? Maybe, but not to her.

A soft but musical voice escaped dry lips, parted as she cooed to the box soothingly. Ever so softly, her fingers slid along its side, a blue electric light charged the air where the tips of her fingers made contact. The box quivered in response to the gentle caress and a smile touched her lips as she affirmed, ?Yes, this is for me.?

With the confirmation that the package was indeed left for Rose, Eric deftly made his way to Kim. Looking deep into her eyes, he commanded, "It's two in the morning, me and rose will manage the desk for the rest of the night, thank you. Go home now you poor girl. You must be so tired, I bet you'll fall asleep on that wonderful bed of yours and forget all about tonight. Wont you dear?"

"Yes..." She said with an exuberant yawn "I think I am tired, thank you sir."

Eric then looked over at his ward, just now knoticing how beaten she looked, he privately chastized himself for not paying as much attention to her as of late. Then, with a scowl, he looked at the box, wondering what they would find in that damn thing.

"Go on now, open it. See what he left you." Said after he heard the click of the tired woman closing the door.

Rose?s finger tips would continue to stroke the package, as she focused what reserves of strength she had left in her, a smile lighting her face in the light of the electricity that her touch created. Seemingly oblivious to Eric?s interaction with the delivery girl she was in fact focusing her energy and putting it to work on burning the drugs out of her system. As she did a healthy flush of life returned to her skin and with her blood pumping harder and faster her temperature started rising. The heat and the drugs the flames of her body licked away caused a familiar pain but Rose just kept that singular focus on the box she traced so lovingly.

Once the interactions and formalities were all finished Rose looked up to Eric, speaking to her as soon as they were alone. ?Go on now, open it. See what he left you." His words came welcome, eyes were all aglow with wonder and a hint of fear, now with more color and life in them. Already she knew Bob was real (she'd had to wonder as of late since she was crazy and all) and still alive! But what news of their son?

But she couldn?t wait either, she gave a grateful nod to the grumpy, yet somehow ever smooth and alluring Eric Northman. A frail hand extended down, to the diamond lock with keyhole. With naught but a simple touch from the angel, the lock came open, falling as though in slow motion. Floating down to land soundlessly next to the package, and whatever lay inside it.

Inside were several items. Three sets of keys, colors of black, gold, and blood red. A letter with the words ?For your eyes only...? next to which also lay a necklace, a chain of platinum adorned with a red jewel. Rose picked up the letter, trying to maintain focus, trying to gather her energy to put up a shield around her. But the tremble in her hand as she held it for a pause while building an impenetrable web around it capable of blocking out the variety of Bonny surveillance was still an effort as a flood of emotion threatened to overwhelm focus.

Focus. Breath. She thought to herself and when she felt steady in her cover that would scramble the letters as to make them indecipherable. Another deep breath and she opened it. Her eyes scanning the first few lines quickly she released her breath in a small cry and then a gasp as she covered her mouth with her free hand. Relief flooded through her and she looked unsteady on her feet.

Steady Rose, you have to keep your emotions under control. Don?t worry about those tears in your eyes. Just take a minute to gather yourself, keep on reading. But she wasn?t sure she had maintained? Had her mental kaleidoscope faltered and flickered out briefly? It was steady in place now again at any rate.

Her eyes, now deep pools of green with soundless tears falling from them looked up to Eric. ?He brings word of Darius? My son, I had no idea what happened to him? He?s off on some holy quest of his own.? She broke off with something between a sob and a small laugh, her voice wasn't reliable anymore. She quickly wiped the tears from her eyes, glowing with the unmistakable pride of a mother, as they cleared she went to read more. At least he hadn't made her wait long to find out that news.

A longer pause, clearly there was a lot in that letter because she was a fast reader and after getting over the initial shock her eyes flickered fast through line after line of words... her brow arching at one moment then furrowing the next despite her efforts to remain passive in the face of such information... At the end she struggled with another breath, she hadn?t realized she?d been holding it. She hadn't meant to be rude by making Eric wait so long but she had to know everything in it and searched for where to begin. Others were worried about Bob and she had been asked to do something.

?Well, first off, he wants me to relay to people that he hasn?t forgotten them. Think those that need to know that he?s alright and that he stays because it is the right thing in his mind and not because he no longer cares... We should get word to Mary immediately. I know they were close.? The envelope disappeared from her hand, put into a safe place in her own little pocket dimension.

That being said she took the necklace in hand quietly, transfixed by the light reflecting from the crimson stone. Her hands then moved to the necklace with the beautiful red jewel faceted and seeming to reflect light from infinite direction, examined examined with a look of wonder. Contemplation and thoughts danced in her head like the multitude of lights - numerous as the stars - in front of her as so many ideas for this one were formed. Her mind was becoming increasingly sharp and clear. Gone was the gaunt look as the sickness seemed to be disappearing faste, she carefully moved her hair to the side and clasped it behind her neck carefully and without explanation. All in due time, this one had her transfixed by the qualities of the dazzling crystal. It would stay with her from now on but there was so much more.

Perhaps all was simple as her next words as she tried to keep on the task at hand. Informing her generous hosts as to what she could right now in such an open setting. "She should also know that my Island... Isn't exactly gone gone and will be back as soon as..." She felt a movement, her eyes fell shut and she smiled, riding with her part consciousness that spanned out - far away over the deepest parts of the sea. An ominous confidence in her tones as she relayed"It's coming now..."

She smiled warmly as her eyes gazed down to the gold keys and took them in hand. ?The house on Mount Yasuo? He? He?s giving me his house there. It?s a wonderful, peaceful place?? One that she would surely never have disrupted? Bob?s house there was a far greater gift than any should know and she wasn't filling anyone in... and the view was breath taking on as well.

The gold key was gone, vanished as she reached and lifted the black ones now. ?And Club Apocalypse.? She felt dreamy just thinking about it as her eyes fixed on Eric. ?It?s a wonderful place, you will love it.? Of course, that only explained two of the sets of keys. Just thinking of the third one quickly stole that moony quality from her eyes as a shadow altered her expression. Despite the heat flushing her skin a chill seemed to cause her small form to shudder.

?And? the other one?? She didn?t like that place and had never before acknowledged its existence and that was as close as she cared to come to doing so now. The dark red keys, really looked like blood, almost seemed alive as they pulsed hungrily. These simply disappeared to be dealt with later. Along with the box entirely.

A little shake of her head as she came back out of the nightmare that place came from. But there was a reason she had to tell them. The devious reasons explained in a purposeful voice, ?He wants to give me the Clubs so we can reopen the Trinity.?

She dangled the black set in her hand as a mischievous smirk tugged at the corners of her lips. Her gaze, the healthy blush in her cheeks had to be enticing as her blood, glowing with new life and strength, pumped through her veins at its accelerated pace. Despite the danger of those keys, so black they seemed not only fail to reflect light, but to consume it, one would be hard pressed not to be put off guard. Besides which, he had read the files and surely knew about the old arrangements that linked all the clubs together. Each served its own dark purpose and together they made up a special sort of magical combination. They?d called it the Unholy Trinity.

A seductive purr made her voice to music, as though she could glamour HIM to part from his very soul with just the sound. ?Shall we get started??

A mischevious glint in his eye, he returns her cadence "I guess it's time to see what your made of, my dear."

What the complimentary bow, and sweep of his arm didn't portray, was his deepening worry for what was to come of all this.
