Over the river and through the dark woods, over wooden footbridges and along trails paved with silvery stones, you will find Club Babylon. It lies just outside the city limits, an ancient Gothic monastery - or at least, so it once was. From the outside, there is still a look of innocence to the stone building tucked among lush hills. When you get closer, you hear the music. From right outside, you can see the new patterns in the stained glass windows, twisting forms like wraith lovers in the smoked glass.

There is different music on different nights, but the main club - a converted chapel which is now a vaulted dance hall - usually plays Gothic industrial music. In the smaller room reserved for the shows of professional dancers, anything from folk fiddling to tribal drums may accompany performers. Each dancer has their own theme, to match their own rhythm. From over the hills on this opening night comes a dark melody, the bass notes carried on the wind for miles. The clock is stopped at five minutes to midnight; inside Babylon, sunlight never comes, and time stands still.
Opening night is by invitation only. Normally there would be a fee for entrance, but for this special party a dark red invitation with gold letters is all you need to get inside. Once you step through the doors the entrance area will likely steal your breath away.

Sculptures, paintings, and gilded edges adorn the entrance way, like the front hall of a palace. From the ceiling hangs a chandelier of cut diamonds on golden chains, the elegant balance of the arms keeping the diamonds softly chiming against each other. This chandelier is only the beginning; everything here is of the best.
Welcome to Club Babylon. This is where your tour begins.
