Jewell was in a foul mood the entire night, though she was a master at hiding such things by now. Having walked in on Renna assaulting Skyler in the alley, it was to be expected. She had tried to make it very clear to that witch that she was to stay away from him--was absolutely furious that she had dared to touch him to begin with. A little territorial? Hell yeah.
She was not under some illusion that she could beat Renna in a fight. Far from it. But she would try make her bleed if it came down to it.
Her shift at work went by pretty fast, the Inn being busy enough to hold her attention. She tried to stay near Skyler as much as possible as he seemed upset to some degree but he wandered out when she was distracted much to her dismay.
The night went from bad to worse after that.
She had been keeping an eye on Julie as it seemed like some man she thought she had seen the other night was bothering her. She stepped on over to them only to hear him threatening her, talking as if Julie belonged to him. Then the poor fool made the biggest mistake of his life and slapped Julie...with the Empress standing right there!
She was over the bar in a second, pushing the man towards the door and screaming at him--giving him a chance to run for his life. He took a swing at her but Jewell was too hyped up, too on edge, to let some pushover get a hit in. He left after she gave him another push toward the door.
She turned her attention to Julie, making sure she was okay before convincing her to come stay at the Villa for the night at least. Out they went together, Jewell in a bit of a hurry to get Julie to the house and settled in.
Once that was done she was out of the house again despite the late hour, picking up a knife or five on the way out the door. She was invisible in the night, sticking to the shadows, hiding that natural glow of her skin, and walking as silently as only the fey can.
She re-traced her steps back to towards the Inn, planning to head towards Cosmo Beach from there. She was worried about Skyler, furious with herself for letting him just up and leave drunk and probably disturbed by the night's events. She would wander the streets all night until she made sure he was all right.
