I would like to invite anyone to use the shop, Daily Bread, in their posts and play. Having extended this invitation, I would really appreciate it if anyone who chooses to do so would respect the setting I have imagined for it, which follows presently.

Daily Bread is a bakery located in the Marketplace that has been owned and operated by the same couple for over forty years. Mr. and Mrs. Hausenfelter had been married for one year longer than the bakery was open.

NPCs (for now, at least...)

Mr. Hausenfelter is the no-nonsense party between the two, a wiry old fellow whose hairline long ago retreated to a shallow point around his ears. He says little, but makes the best bread on this side of town. When around the customers, he is gruff and taciturn, but when he is certain nobody is watching, he has been caught blowing kisses at his wife, whom he still loves passionately four decades later.

Mrs. H, whom so many just call Nana, is a plump, delightful, cheerful thing, who often dresses in a fashion that would remind you of her famous cupcakes- long straight skirts, and colorful frilly tops, all carefully tucked under a crisp white apron when she is in the kitchen. She decorates the desserts and handles the clients, and Nana Hausenfelter excels in managing both. Despite her sweet nature, she is a sharp thing and a shrewd businesswoman, hence the enduring success of their dream.

RhyDin already has an elderly persons deficit-- it should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway: please don't harm these nice old NPCs without speaking to me at length, first.

Environs

The building, made of brick and stone, has a large kitchen in the back and the smells of it can entice people into the storefront from off the street. The storefront has a vast glass display case for a counter and racks of fresh bread behind the counter. One one side of the display are ready to eat cakes, carefully crafted and decorated in a large array of flavors. The other half of the display is dedicated to single serving breads and confections. Everything is made fresh daily, with the exception of the day-old-bread which is sold at a discount.

Patrons can also purchase plain coffee or black tea there, and some fruit juices depending on what Mr. and Mrs. Hausenfelter have been baking. There are little cafe tables (each one seats two) along the front half of the storefront. Large windows look out on the bustle of the marketplace, while the walls are decorated with artwork of all kinds- everything from a child's drawing in crayon to an articulately crafted mosaic.

stay tuned for information about the flats upstairs, floorplans, and more!

The Daily Bread was nearly burned to the ground in the fires that plagued the city during the zombie invasion. The storefront and kitchen were gutted by the flames, and all of the upstairs flats were either charred or smoke damaged beyond the point of salvage.

The bones of the building remain largely in tact. Crews have been brought in to begin pulling out the rubble and rebuilding the interior. This will be a lengthy process.

Until further notice, the bakery known as the Daily Bread is closed. Bertie and Ralmo can be found cooking and baking at Dockside, in the galley of the Balclutha.
