The great dragon took to flight after leaving her lair. The huge wings beat the air, causing the trees nearby to almost lean over sideways from the strength of the wind. After leaving the island, she did her usual swoop over the city, carefully eyeing the streets, but not really looking for anything in particular. It was just her usual pattern these days.
It wasn't long before she turned northeast and headed for the Dark Lake. She did a few circles around the lake, carefully examining each detail of the surroundings. It seemed calm and peaceful. There were people about the Manor, and she noticed they were all staring up at her. Whether it was out of fear or awe, she did not know. She remembered the Priestess saying dragons were highly respected there and she would not have to fear being shot at. Just as well. Dodging ballista shots grew weary.
Serpentine eyes carefully searched for a place to land, then in a low swoop, she chose her spot near the Manor, lowering herself slowly.. the trees once again leaning from the force of the air being pushed by her wings. But by the time she touched ground, there had been a puff of green smoke and the red haired woman stood in her place. She wished to know more of these people she was going to help. She knew they were the friends of the moredhel sisters, but little else. The fact that both of the sisters had placed their lives on the line in and willingly offered their help to the Priestess was enough for Jade to consider the woman worth helping. But nonetheless, it was good to know more about those she sought to fight for and protect.
She approached the door, green eyes carefully appraising the guards who seemed on the verge of an emotional outbreak of some sort. She was not empathic and did not care to be. Some things were best left to the imagination. They did appear rather confused by her humanoid appearance. It was not a youthful one. Jade was old enough that even her human form was showing age. The white hairs that spattered throughout the red. There were crowsfeet at the corners of her eyes and slight lines around her mouth. A human would have guessed her to be in her late forties. How that would have translated to her dragon age never crossed her mind. She was young enough to fight, but old enough to know when something was actually worth fighting for.
Eventually she pointed to a guard. "You. Tell the Priestess that Jade has come to visit. I wish to better know those I seek to protect in the land that is known as Rhilshen."
The guard nodded dashed off, leaving her there to silently study the remaining guard while she waited. He did appear uncomfortable under her gaze, but she simply continued to look at him. Each detail, each facet of his eyes. All were important in some way or another.
This should prove to be interesting.
