Koya was standing inside her circle, candles lit in the Cardinal directions, portable altar at her feet. Her boots crunched on the fallen leaves as she turned full circle, waving the incense. Crackle-pop! She called on the ley line she was standing over, trying to reach it, to tap into that power.

Her hair began to blow from the slight breeze in the glen, she caught sight of her boyfriend as he made his way down toward her from the house. The lights were aglow, the guests would be arriving soon. She had to hurry this up.

Koya Amaya Ran, witch, seer, and professional pianist, was attempting to tap a ley line to power a particularly powerful spell. She was trying to heal her Father's heart. He was home from the hospital today, that was what the party was for, but he wasn't doing well. She had found a spell of her mother's, but it was a dark spell, requiring blood sacrifice and the energy of a coven. Koya's coven wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, but she had to do what she had to do.

Koya had been studying black and grey magick for years, mostly in secret. Her coven were strictly white, Wiccan, and set in their ways. Koya, however, was willing to dance on the dark side if it meant saving her family.

She called down on the Goddess required, felt the tingling in her fingertips, and felt the wind as it picked up. Her hair blew in her face, she could hear her boyfriend's voice calling to her, but could not understand what he said. Now, what was that hand motion again? Oh yes...Koya made the appropriate motion, or what she thought was the correct one, and felt the energy flow into her, through her. She nearly reeled from it, but maintained her balance. She found if she relaxed, it went easier.

Koya's voice was lost in the roar of the wind, and lightening lit up the sky. She had athame in hand, and slit her palm quickly, completing the blood sacrifice with her own. Thunder rolled as the world turned upside down, and a loud ringing filled her hearing. Dark black eyes tearing from the wind and the strain of holding so much power in one vessel, she growled the words to the spell. There was a reason this was intended for a coven, for Koya slipped, fell to her knees, and the words were garbled. Blue, black, and green filled her vision, a roaring grew, much like that of the ocean, and then silence.

Koya was sitting in a glen, much like the one behind her home, but...was that a dragon that flew over head? Oh no..what had she done?

Koya had obviously fainted. She awoke as the dawn light glared into her eyes, and she was wet. She sat up, hair hanging limply from dew, clothes clinging to her form from the same source.

"Sh*t." was all she could think. She had not been dreaming, and yes, there they were. Fairies. The laughed at her, and took off, obviously finding glee in her situation. "Can anyone hear me? Can anyone tell me where the hell I am?"

Getting not a word one in response, Koya climbed stiffly to her feet and headed in the direction of what seemed to be a city in the distance. Had she crossed the veil? Was she in another realm, entirely? Oh, what had she done?

Finding herself asking that question for the gazillionth time, she entered Rhy'din City on sore feet. The sun had risen and warmed her, drying the dew from clothing and hair. She saw all manners of creatures on her trek into town, and knew that she had indeed, done this to herself.

With a resigned sigh, she headed for what looked like an Inn, eyeing the dragon sign hanging out front. Hmm. Seems they actually HAD them here, and this one was far more realistic looking than the one she had tattooed on her...well...never mind.

Stepping inside, the common room was nearly empty. She did find someone with a key, and made a deal to wash dishes for a room for the night. She'd worry about finding work or a way home tomorrow. Right now, grief and exhaustion were nearly overwhelming.

Once she had climbed the stairs, fell onto the warm, soft bed, she sobbed herself to sleep.

The next morning, as promised, Koya descended the stairs to work for her room. She wore the same dress she had landed here in, which although completely unappropriate for ANY type of work, it was all she had.

Dishes, nearly piled to the sky, were done within a few hours, and she dried her red, chapped hands on a clean towel. She inquired about other work, and was pleased to find a job as a barmaid. Something she knew quite a bit about, beings Koya had a bit of a drinking problem. It was sure to get worse.

Her first day's wages and tips were enough to pay for the room for another night, as well as purchase another set of clothes. The next day, Koya casually mentioned her pianist skills, and was told she could make a bit extra if she were to play a bit, as well as work the bar. Delighted, but saddened at the same time, Koya threw herself into a routine of waking, working, playing baudy tunes and sweet melodies for tips, then falling into bed, exhausted. Her closet filled slowly, her belly was fed and her room paid for. She had all she needed, but not what she wanted.

Another day, another dollar. Nothing like her life on Earth. On Earth, Koya was an up and coming pianist and songwriter. She'd just cut a demo, and was rumored to be the next Amy Lee crossed with Tori Amos.

Sighing, Miss Ran missed her father terribly. She hoped against hope that he was well, that her spell had worked. She knew, though, that was unlikely. Her spell had gone wrong and she had been sent here, to another planet it seemed. Another world, another dimension, who knew.

Koya began to search the city during her time off. She wandered into the Marketplace, browsing the shops and chatting with the people. She was content, but she was far from happy. She couldn't go on like this for much longer, perhaps she had better see if she could find help in getting home. From observations and asking around, this city was full of magickal creatures, mages, witches, sorceress', and the like. Perhaps one of them would be able to get her home.

Dalia Blackthorne

Dalia had tracked the trace of the woman back to her small flat, the studio apartment was nicely furnished, if cheaply. Dalia had let herself in, knowing the young lady was currently playing most interesting music in the bar across the street. It was reminiscent of music she'd heard on Earth. That would be fitting, seeing as the woman was obviously from Earth herself.

A small altar was set up in the room, and Dalia inspected it without touching it. Even if the woman was not very adept at magick, she would know if any other energies were present. Dalia did not want her energies mixed up in any spells the woman may have going, either.

She fingered the clothing in the closet, however, noteing the lady Ran had taste, despite being mostly broke. She nodded, making note of her probably well-to-do upbringing. Things were in their place, orderly, and very well blessed, cleansed, and consecrated. This place was protected by wards, the woman did seem to know what she was doing.

Dalia knew this Koya Ran had visited her shop that night, when she had been out. She came here, trying to find out why. Dalia's shop had not been re-opened to the public yet, but she did supply a few select friends, and fellow vampires. She had plans to train Lyric to run the shop during the day, or at least in the afternoons.

Satisfied the girl had come out of curiousity and not out of malicious intent, Dalia left the apartment as silently as she came. She would seek this Koya out another time, when it was not so close to dawn.

Punk Rock Lyric

Lyric hid in the shadows. She had followed Dalia here, knowing who it was she was looking for. She had seen the woman, that beautiful, exotic woman, outside the store. She had not let her, Lyric was still trying to decide why.

She had mostly settled on jealousy; not jealousy of the woman, but jealousy of Dalia. She had seen this woman first, and she had instantly wanted her, wanted to BE her. She did not know her name, but she had been mesmerized.

Dalia was leaving, Lyric hurried down the alley, taking a short cut back to the store in the Marketplace. She would make it home first, for Dalia never ran or hurried. She was far too regal, she would rather make everyone else wait for her than to lower herself to rushing. Lyric had not known Dalia very long, but she had picked up so much of the woman's personality in the few days she'd been with her.

Lyric made it back home, in plenty of time. She smiled to herself, and then sighed. She was worried Dalia would want this new woman, would bring her here and Lyric would have to watch, or listen to them. She began to cry in frustration and anger, hitting her pillow, the stuffed bear left behind by the late Cyan. She bit it, screaming in a teenage temper tantrum. That mystery woman would be HERS, not Dalia's. She'd just have to find a way to get between them.

Waiting for her new Mistress, her new teacher to come home, Lyric plotted how to get this new woman on her side. She planned and schemed, knowing she just had to have this woman for herself!

Koya returned home, exhausted as usual. She paused just inside the door, smelling an unfamiar perfume. She scanned the room, and sure enough, someone had been here!

Nothing was out of place, no, that was not how she knew. Her psi senses told her of the intrusion, and even managed a glimpse of shadow. It had been a woman, obviously, from the scent. The flash of shadow, however, gave her the impression of a dark haired woman, petite. She sighed, and began a more in depth scan of her home. No lingering auras or vibes. Nothing, as if it had been nearly wiped clean. Whoever had been here was powerful, and knew what she was doing.

A tingle of excitement ran through Koya. Perhaps a fellow witch, or perhaps something else, was seeking her out! Perhaps they had sensed her or seen her and maybe they could help her!

Feeling nothing lingering of evil, of negative intent, or anything much really, Koya relaxed. She did, however, strengthen her wards and replace the ones on the front door. She'd just have to wait and see.

The notion excited her, however. She was being sought out, perhaps. Was her talent noticed? Was her desperate wish to get home heard? Would this mystery woman find her, and help her? She would do anything to get home, to save her father, to see her boyfriend again.
