In all her experience, Wyheree had never encountered anyone like Dakota Steele. He reminded her of the barbarian warriors she had fought long ago with the metal piercing the skin near his eyebrow and the bold colors on his back. She was immediately struck by his dark brown eyes, nearly black, that held pain and sorrow that mirrored her own. He spoke freely of himself and his life in Rhydin, and asked about her story, which also caught her fancy, as only Dakota and sweet Sakura had ever cared to know how she had come to be how she was. When Wyheree was with Dakota, she felt as if all that had ever been wrong in her life would somehow be made right again, and she wished for that more than anything in her world.

Wyheree awoke, stretching up, looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings. "I am - in the Great Hall? Oh..." she thought as she remembered the craziness of the previous night - the mental intrusions, a dragon slayer menacing Icer, Skyler being hauled out of the Inn by a huge older man - all this had caused her power to nearly overload, so she fled to the Hall to release the build-up before it lashed out on its own. Dakota had followed, and did not run or flinch when he saw her silver eyes and felt the coldness around her. Finally, she had regained enough control to settle against Dakota's chest, and they had both fallen asleep, the night exhausting for both of them.

Realizing at once she was alone, Wyheree looked about for a note, something from Dakota to say where he was, but she found nothing. Searches of the alley and the Inn also proved fruitless - Dakota was not anywhere to be found. Lips pursing in annoyance, she phased back home, determined to find where her dear Dakota had gone, and why he had left her alone.
