RhyDin Fashion Week Notes from RhyDin Wear Daily:

Another Fashion Week is almost ready to come to a close and Mercer Park has been the stage of many a triumphant rise (see Randall Bane) and downright disaster (see Vicki Remmington), not to mention plenty of juicy after party gossip (we ALL saw you, CeeCee). From the old world charm of Jackson Walt?s crisp three-piece suits to the in-your-face blast of color from Li Xang, there?s something for every buyer and consumer under the sun.

The week may be ending but our lovely friends at RCG responsible for organizing Fashion Week have saved some our favorites for last. Most notably today Millie & Mallie and Highlife Haberdashery continue their tradition of showcasing new up-and-coming talent.

A delicate package wrapped in sapphire silk and tied with gold silk ribbons was left somewhere safe, but conspicuous enough to catch the attention of the busy designer.

Inside was a handcrafted perfume bottle created from elven laen magically shaped in the image of LBD (except crystal colored). Within is a signature scent named "Koyliak" etched on the delicate decanter. The fragrance opens with notes of narcissus flower and midnight orchid with sambac jasmine and praline comprising the heartnotes. The finish is warm and sensual, yet clean with notes of vetiver and santal. Written on a small card in elegant script is simply, "Thank thee! ~Eless"

Locke DVestavio

(Excerpted from RhyDin Wear Daily)

...It was with great anticipation that we awaited the display of Locke D'Vestavio's eponymous first collection on behalf of Gerard Smith and Highlife Haberdashery. Perhaps best known for his occasional dueling successes - and even more spectacular dueling failures - as well as his Red Dragon Inn exploits as dished out by the Gossip GangSTAR, Mr. D'Vestavio has been noticeably absent from both fields since landing a coveted internship with Mr. Smith last summer.

We had hoped that Mr. D'Vestavio would draw upon his personal interests for inspiration in his collection: perhaps a more martial line of jackets and trousers befitting his love of combat, or his own take on the brightly colored dress shirts he is so frequently spotted in public wearing. However, much to our disappointment, Mr. D'Vestavio seemed to have taken a more conservative approach in what he presented.

It was all very monochromatic, save for a surprising burst of color at the end, when Mr. D'Vestavio paired a camel knee-length overcoat with a vividly red turtleneck. Otherwise, it was dark, dark, dark all the way. Black trousers, black coats, black undershirts, eggplant-hued ties so dark they nearly blended into the suits and shirts they accompanied. All crisp and perfectly fitted, as one would expect from a Smith disciple, but we couldn't help but feel that more color in his pieces would have made them more enticing. In the future, we hope that Mr. D'Vestavio will play it less safe, and let his personality shine through his outfits more...
