Hi!

I'm so happy to see people having fun with the idea of RhyDin Fashion Week! I just thought it'd be something to do and a way to explain where Koy's been since the real one in NYC is taking over my life right now.

I'm not planning on my end to do any IC chat events but if people want to vapor going to any of the shows, particularly Koy's, just send me a PM if you need any details about what your char might come away after going. Obviously the DoD ladies would have been invited to Koy's (getting them to go would be another matter entirely of course ;-) ) and other friends. Daven Mallie will be throwing an after party on Wednesday at The Cobalt Hotel in New Haven. Again, I'm not planning on playing it out but if you wanted to have your char entering the Inn/Outback/etc. coming from the party that's when it'd be.

Also, if you need help with an outfit just send me a PM and your e-mail address and I'll find something suitable :). I wish I was around more to do it all IC but so it goes.

Feel free to use this OOC thread and the one I started for other Fashion Week stuff!

Ack! Sorry I forgot to mention this:

RhyDin Fashion Week is obviously modeled in part after NYC Fashion Week (i.e. Mercer Park = Bryant Park). Along that line of thinking then there's a schedule of "official" Fashion Week shows for the New Haven fashion houses but there can be plenty of events/shows that go on outside of the area in the general spirit of the Week.

That way it's not limiting to anyone when I make up the schedule of shows.

Well, if the New Haven crowd was good to the poor ladies at the Stitch, they are planning on having a show Friday afternoon, of course then followed by the party at the Great Helm. I was thinking it would be in New Haven, but since they're not an official house, perhaps it would be on another schedule. Just dropping a note here.

:) I'll link the threads Lydia's player and I get aroudn to doing as it happens.

And the Fashion Week madness continues! Thanks to everyone who's been playing into it and putting their own spin on the chaos (all the grumbling men are particularly hilarious).

I just realized something else - technically real Fashion Week right now is showing looks for Fall 2008. I don't know if people have mentioned at all that it's spring clothing they're seeing or not. I'm probably the only person who is actually thinking about it at all but unless people would prefer otherwise let's assume it's the Fall collections that are being shown now.

And yeah let me know when and where the Stitch would do a show (or anyone else for that matter if your char wants to do some kind of fashion-related event). I imagine it like outside of Mercer Park there are things going on in all different venues, in and out of New Haven. But I'll put up a supplemental schedule together for that if you let me know because I obviously enjoy doing this kind of stuff than deal with the real schedules.

+wavey+ Hi folks!

Just a reminder that Koy's show for Millie & Mallie is today (Wednesday) in Mercer Park. After party at The Cobalt Hotel in New Haven.

(Yes, this may or may not have been another excuse to use that emoticon. And to procrastinate.)

Friday afternoon, like around noon. And have it be in a furniture store, converted for the event, it's owned by a male model (Like Maurice VIllency, which my dad works for, and I always thought was amusing).

Thanks!

Just a side note for anyone who cares and might wish to know for their own play:

Mady was present, looking absolutely stunning for a mother of four. Koy said she'd send her a dress to wear and I'm taking liberties here by putting up a picture--(subject to change if Koy hates it xD).

http://www.neimanmarcus.com/products/mn/NMT18R0_mn.jpg

A very tiny baby was nestled against her, sleeping peacefully during the entire event. Koy and Mady may or may not have been seen after the show, giggling and whatnot. :)

Rena A Cronin

Date: 2008-02-06 15:20 EST
Rena showed up but not in a dress(sorry Koy). She did have on a pair of nice silk black pants though paired with a hip length white V-neck sweater. Around her waist was a gold and silver twisted chain belt, hooked loosely with about a foot hanging down her right side. Black ankle boots with two inch heels and a thigh length black coat completed the outfit. A matching 18 inch necklace was around her neck. Simplicity at its best.

::grumble, grumble, grumble:: I'm going broke! Broke, I tell ya!!

::grins:: I love Fashion Week. So, when do the men get to walk down the runway? There are at least a few men in Rhydin who are fashionable. :)

ERin was there in that dress Koy made her for the charity dinner. :D She dragged at least Lydia with her, as far as I understand. Ivy stayed behind to watch the Stitch.

:D

Lydia Loran

Lydia, Carley, and Griffith came along with Erin. Lydia looked pretty pretty in a dress Griffith worked on for her, a lighter color today. Carley (looked the same as always, shorts and leggings and berets and feathers, oh my) heckled models and fashionistas. Lydia left early to drag Carley off with her back to The Stitch, totally embarrassed, trying to prevent a scene. Griffith fan girled over all the designs. He looked snazzy in some suit.

Good times.

And check out the new schedule - there's something there for the boys as requested...

Hi!

Sorry I haven't been around more but Fashion Week is open to any who want to take the playable and run with it! I'm not planning any IC events but if you want details feel free to PM me or ask them here.

Koy's show is today and Locke will be making his debut at Mercer Park under the wings of Highlife Haberdashery. Koy and Gerard are sharing their after party at Club Shade later in the evening. Obviously the DoD & friends would have invites to the show and after party. Koy will be busy making sure everyone looks fabulous, she looks fabulous, and introducing New Haven's newest proprietor Eless to all the right people ;-)

I don't know if I'll get to post any more reviews/commentary as part of RhyDin Wear Daily but if anyone else wants to add anything to that Notes thread (i.e. Locke if you want to write your own review/people's reactions, anyone else etc.) feel free! You can also post outfits.

xoxo,

Eless will be there today/tonight. Dressed as below (w/Koy's approval, really from Ellie Saab's Fall 2005 collection):

Jewelry limited to a seamless silver-toned band on her heart finger and star sapphire & diamond drop earrings set in platinum.

She'll also be wearing her signature scent (see Heart Notes) and carrying a gift of a signature scent for Koy in appreciation for her taking her under her wing.

Locke will wear a classic tuxedo with a slight twist to his show, as demonstrated here:

http://www.gq.com/images/slideshows/mens/standalone/gq/fashion/1208/tuxedo/00008f.jpg

Locke will not be wearing his usual earrings or spiked hair, forgoing those for a fringe haircut and no earrings. He will be wearing snowflake cufflinks for his dress shirt, and a silver snowflake bracelet on his right wrist. He will most likely remove the jacket at some point during the after-show party as well. :)

Eless and Locke both looked stylin'!

Sorry I don't know how I missed it but I just saw the perfume Eless sent to Koy! Little Black Dress! That's so great - Koy would definitely wear it and make sure to tell any and all admirers where her new signature scent came from.

Allow me to second Eless-mun's sentiments and say thank you as well for letting Locke play along with the Fashion Week idea. I have just posted a review of Locke's show (better late than never, right?), and had a blast writing it, as I did with everything else.

Again, thanks a bunch!

It's that time of the year again - Fashion Week 2010 is right around the corner!

For a little history/trip down memory lane on Fashion Weeks of yesteryear I was given a very nice chance from Ehz to write about it here.

More details to come but Fashion Week this year will be from Monday, February 8th through Saturday, February 13th with a special live kickoff event in the Great Hall this Sunday, February 7th at 9 PM EST. Thanks in advance to all the players who have already helped get the ball rolling - Darien, Locke, Eless, Joey D., Eleanor, Wyh, Tara, Juliane, the Ravenlock gang, Mason, Trystan and Sin!

Darien's player already put up some great stuff for the event here on the RhyDin Post board.

Highlights schedule for the week to come but if anyone has any questions/comments here's the place to start posting them!

The Hope Creative

Making Amends

~Heart Notes Parfumerie~ Work Room

and of course the Post's writeup and great ad:

Date: 2010-02-07 21:07 EST
Each model will have some kind of set of gossamer butterfly wings to wear in a color that works with their outfit -- this is the basic idea of how they'd be worn and some color options:

http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k247/kazabelle/Fashion%20Week%202010/butterflywings.jpg

There will be 4-5 characters walking down the runway as well as 1-2 NPC models. It's going to be a walk down the short catwalk and then they are free to mix and mingle with the crowd.

Wyh:

Tara:

And she won't be on the runway but in the spirit of charity Koy would be wearing one of her own lingerie pieces as well:

Juliane Smith

Juliane, at the bidding of the Biddies and with Koy's approval would be wearing this:

Though her hair would be loose and in soft, relaxed curls.

Thank you to Koy and the others who helped in pulling this off. I had a lot of fun and it meant a lot to me to be included in this considering how close Tara and Jewel were. I won't forget this.

To Koy's player specifically, I know I don't know you very well, but what I do know is that you are always a joy to play with and you have always been kind to me. That's something else I don't forget.

I'm sorry the chat was acting up but I'm happy everyone stuck with it and helped to make your event a huge success! And on Super Bowl Sunday too, no less! That just goes to show how many of us enjoy playing with you and being a part of your world.

If you have another, I will be there, if I'm invited, I enjoyed myself that much.

And as long as I play now to the time I eventually retire, Tara will be wearing that blue chemise. It's got sentimental value and I thank you for that as well. ;-)

Koyliak

Date: 2010-02-08 10:36 EST
Wow - that is really sweet of you to say, Tara and you're giving me entirely too much credit . I'm just so amazed at how many people I don't really get to interact with said 'yes' when I asked them about being involved. I also had a lot of fun seeing such a wide variety of characters interacting with the NPCs and various items for sale as well as all the business being conducted for people with New Haven connections.

And I also liked seeing Tara refrain from eating any of the assistants trying to dress her backstage. I'm so glad you said yes because it seemed fitting to me that Tara would model the last outfit in Jewell's honor. I thought all the tributes to Jewell turned out even better than I hoped - a very special thanks too to Brian Ravenlock's player for making an appearance!

Again a big thank you to all who came and especially to all those who took the random ideas I was making up as we went along and ran with them in incredible ways - Darien, Juliane, Locke, Mason, Trystan, Eless, and my very beautiful models Joey, Lilli, Wyh, and Tara.

ETA: I so didn't mean initially to plan for it being on Superbowl Sunday! I thought I was picking a Sunday in February that wasn't Valentine's Day or part of TdR - but then it looks like the TdR schedule changed anyway. Hopefully next year if I get to do something like this again I'll do a better job of scheduling!

I spent the morning reading over the logs from last night. It was emotional for me and overall really touching to read through.

Koy, thank you so much for approaching me about doing this. Even though I couldn't play to be a part of it (and I totally would have loved to!), I was really honored to have Jewell be a part of the event in a way.

Koy, Locke, and Juliane, you three did a great job hosting and preparing the event. It was a lot of fun to read and a great play opportunity for others.

Tara, I love you! Your play makes me laugh and then brings tears to my eyes the next moment.

I didn't even get a chance to ask her if she is cool with me doing that (fingers crossed she is!).

Thanks again to everyone for helping make last night's Fashion Week kick-off event way better than anything I could have imagined!! I loved seeing all the creative contributions that people came up with and how people played into all the stimuli in the room.

Special thanks go to Locke, Darien and Juliane Smith's players for helping me brainstorm the event, all of the Icons who gave me their blessings to do whatever I wanted with their characters (that's a lot of trust!), Rekah & Taneth for being too adorable and funny for words, Eless & Wyh for their modeling help, Tara for showing up just in time for the tribute to Jewell, Jaycy for her hilarious living statue surprise & everyone who showed up and played! And thank you as always to Matt for showing up long enough to add a touch of realism and depth to the night for Koy.

I hope everyone has fun and let's the idea of Fashion Week this week take them to all sorts of imaginative places! Thanks again to everyone, whether you were there last night or not, for letting me be a part of this community and contributing to its social fabric on this larger scale.

Looks like the kick-off event was a ton of fun! I'm sorry I couldn't be there, but I'm glad I was able to chip in a little. Thanks to Koy-mun for letting me take part and for creating such a fun continual event, and to everyone else for playing into it, year after year!

It's that time again! I'm looking at Feb. 5th - Feb. 11th for 2012 RhyDin Fashion Week. More details to come over the next few weeks but I'm looking to do another live RP kick off event on Sun. Feb. 5th and Rekah's player has graciously agreed to include her awesome Valentine's Disco Ball as a fun live RP event to close out the week. Stay tuned!

Hi! I think I did this last year too by accident but I just realized I had planned on holding a live RP event for kicking off Fashion Week on Superbowl Sunday. I'm thinking of changing it to Sat. Feb. 4th instead. If anyone has an opinion one way or the other please chime in!

Also I am working out the details but thinking about holding the event in the Marketplace (I realize there's been some action in there as of late so if there's anything to be aware of about the scenery i.e. some parts are still demolished, etc. please let me know - I can think of IC reasons why it would still be held there in spite of recent events but if this poses a big conflict please let me know).

Feel free to email me at koyliak@aol.com!

Thank you to everyone who has already helped prepare for tomorrow's event!

Again if your character would like to display his/her goods either to promote their work or to sell with the funds going to charity please feel free to post a description in the 2012 Fashion Week Notes thread. Don't forget to share what outfits your character will be rocking!

There won't be an actual auction during the event. I will post up tomorrow some items that will be available as part of a silent auction with the assumption that the IC winners would be notified the following day and their items delivered to them. If your character would bid on something just shoot me a PM or email to let me know. There will be other items being sold in the various booths with the proceeds going to the designated charities.

As a reminder, this is meant to be a light-hearted event so I'd like to ask that any excessive violence, bloodshed and the like not occur during the event. I appreciate everyone's cooperation :)

Hope to see many of you in the Marketplace at 9:30 PM EST tomorrow! Thank you!

AHH I was just about to post descriptions for tonight when there was a loud bang and all the power went off. On my phone now but LIPA says it will be 2-3 hours :( I will come as soon as I can if people are still around I will host the mini fashion show I had planned. People can have their characters mill about in the Marketplace enjoying the different booths displaying local crafts and the food and DJ in the main see-through paneled structure built just for the night. Unbelievable!! :( see you all soon I hope.

Excited to see everyone tonight at the Fists of Fashion pre-Fashion Week event!

I'm posting the calendar now for Fashion Week - as always aside from Fists of Fashion and the Fashion Week Charity Kickoff event, all other events are vapored so feel free to use them however you like. In a cool twist this year, Fashion Week coincides with the DoS remodeling of the Arena/Annex. This Saturday's DoS will be held in the RDI Arena and the setting will be tents set up for dueling outside of the Outback where the Charity Kickoff event will be occurring simultaneously. Two live settings for characters to travel back and forth between easily IC for the price of one!

The setting for that to come but if anyone has suggestions about other possible events I should put on the calendar please feel free to email them to me at koyliak@aol.com. And if I've gotten anything wrong also let me know.

Thank you to everyone who came out for Fists of Fashion last night, including the Opal-holder party! Extra special love to Marc Franco and Emmet Bane's players for putting on a great show and Locke for inspiring the idea and working with me to make it happen.

I also wanted to thank Carley's player wherever she might be for coming up with the initial Fists of Fashion duel between Carley and Koy!

Hope to see everyone on Saturday for the official start to Fashion Week!

Thanks to you both and everyone who came out, who let Koy and Locke abuse them as models, who sent me things to add to the calendar and for the event and who've made use of Fashion Week! It's a lot of fun to be surprised each year by how people play into it!

Six years down, can't wait to see what happens next year!

How time flies! It's almost time for the 7th annual RhyDin Fashion Week!

This may change but I'm looking at Sat. 2/8 through Fri. 2/14 this year with the live kickoff event being held on Sat. 2/8. Everything else will be vapored again as usual and depending on scheduling, I'd like to try to do another Fists of Fashion match at the Outback.

Still working on this year's theme but if anyone has any ideas they'd like to tie-in with the week please let me know. More to come!
