A tent had been set up outside of the entrance of the RhyDin Welcome Center to protect the volunteers and crafty visitors from both sun and rain showers. Various swaths of fabric, containers filled with glitter, buttons, appliques, googly eyes, boxes holding colorful balls of yarn, scissors, sewing needles, thread, glue and other mysterious odds and ends covered two long tables underneath the tent. These tables were mirrored by two more with benches set out for those who wanted to sit while they created their masterpieces.
Welcome Center volunteers kept the area under the tent from becoming too unruly of a mess and helped visitors who wanted assistance or lighthearted conversation as they worked on their own square. They also kept an eye out to discourage anyone who intended to turn what was meant as a celebratory project into one displaying an uglier hatred going beyond harmless joking. When finished, each quilt square was placed in a pile where Koyliak VanDuran-Simon would carefully sew the patches together with the same refined stitchwork.
The tables would be available and manned during several listed scheduled sessions from Wednesday, June 19th through Wednesday, July 10th. The Great RhyDin Quilt, in this installation at least as the city?s population would always be growing, weaving new rich stories into the shared history, would be hung on display inside the Welcome Center?s main hall once completed.
((This thread is open to all - feel free to post descriptions and/or pictures of anything your character would add to depict any facet of his/her life in RhyDin, your characters visiting the tent to view the work or anything else your wonderful imaginations can come up with. The only request is to please keep it respectful - this is meant for some simple, random fun. Please feel free to PM me with any questions!))
