Issue 1

A Wind of Change:

Tenseness would be the best the word to describe the feeling of all Den citizens. The Den is no longer a Den of carefree life, love, and romantic battles. Some Lupes may say that the change is a good one. Many rumors surfaced during the days of the Councilor Murders that the whole Den command system was nothing more than Alphrans with their hands in the milk bone jar. Those embracing the change hope to see Alphrans that care about the citizens of the Den, and not biting each other for a higher position.

Those resisting the change state that the Den has merely swapped masters, trading the old and tired council for a new hotshot Alphrans that few have seen lead. Survivors of the Den Revolt say that Vuusoolta Wolf is nothing but a violent tyrant. Twenty Lupinossai lost their lives defending their families while standing in support of the Council of Dens during the week long revolt. How many more widows and orphans have you created Vuusoolta, son of Fleetian Wolf? Do you feel inadequate to fill your sires paw prints in leadership that you resorted to military might?

The Council of Dens may be gone, but the Hall still remains and has been undergoing renovation. In a public calling, Vuusoolta Wolf mentioned a new system of law to be instigated in place of the Council of Dens as well as the creation of the Den Fangs and the removal of the Den Watch. The only difference between the two law keeping organizations is the Den Fangs being allowed more leeway for violence. The Den will hold its collective breath watching how much of a rabid dog Vuusoolta has set loose on the Den.

The changes to the Den is not all bad. Finally a hall of learning is being built where all of us may go and discover the missing pieces of our history, heritage, and lost arts. So there you have it. With the changes blowing in like a chill wind, the Den is standing on a thin wire balanced between view that the new Den Alphrans is nothing but a tyrant in sheep wool, or a leader with a vision.

Suspect Arrested in Council of Den Murders:

With many suppositions, suspicions, and fear, a possible suspect was arrested two weeks ago. Mogriil, estranged son of Street Wolf, was apprehended during his flight from the Den. His capture was due in part to Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor and a dragon named Moonshine. Reports from the newly formed Den Fangs claim that Myrlene was severely injured in the apprehension but has since received medical attention and is doing well.

Mogriil is sitting in confinement within Steele?s Hold awaiting a trial date. That date will be coming sooner than later as Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf is gathering candidates for the new law system. Much of the investigation, as well as an assist in the arrest come from a draconian named Verbosk. One can only wonder why outsiders would take an interest in Den matters. Verbosk?s involvement seems to be spawned out of the incident of finding the body of Ferrousbane of Den Steele in the basement of the well known tavern the Red Dragon Inn located in Rhydin city.

Councilor Issiir of Foxingale, Councilor Balsa of Stridar, and Councilor Sliinka of Sprintar are reported to be safe, secure, and watching the proceedings. When asked about the change and assemblage of the new law system, Councilor Issiir stated

?Justice and wisdom are fluid concepts and cannot function if allowed to stagnate. New avenues must be travelled to ensure that all are treated justly. Our time has come and gone. Now we will sit, watch, and lend guidance if asked.?

All we can do is wait for the hearing date. The trial of Mogriil will be the first court trial in the history of the den.

A Law System Has Risen Out of the Ashes of the Council of Dens:

The Den Howler has been informed that effective immediately the Den citizens will subject to Den Laws. To govern these laws will be a system of a High Judge and several lesser judges that will hear cases in their respective jurisdiction. Being a new system of laws though, the offices of the judges are vacant. Den Alphrans Vuusoolta is seeking candidates to fill these positions.

It is mandatory that all citizens know the thirteen Blood Tenants of the Den. They may study the other laws as well. Honestly, what was wrong with the old days of settling your own problems with action? Now we have one more reason to eyeball the Den Fangs. This new law system will supposedly give an ear to any who have a issue or dispute. We will see how long this lasts.

Tazzy notes for Issue 2 paper.
Amber Interview:
Interviewd a young lady named Amber in the Inn today. She seemed very quiet and shy. Amber appears to have not known about the Den or Lupinossai as I was asked about the Den and the Lupinossai. She is a native born Rhydin citizen. Not sure about her parents as she remained silent on that question. Amber does seem to enjoy the Red Dragon Inn and the social atmosphere of the Inn.

Our interview was interrupted by some man who walked behind her and stood silently watching the girl. Is he some predator of the young? Also, the man was speaking Lupesh words. Seems the Cultural Center outside the Den has had some effects on a least one individual. Seems the individual is known to Amber. I was close to ending my interview as the girl was seeming overly shy and nervous. I wonder if this normal for a human? It appears the man was more than willing to tell me about Amber. He reports that she is a Lycan. For those that are unfamiliar with the word, a lycan is a person who has either been curse or born with a magical ability to shift from their usual appearance to one that is more beastly. By the words of the man it seems that Amber may have some needs. The man did not give me his name, but states that he is more than a lycan. He also seemed more than willing to speak for Amber or to answer questions she was showing a distinct desire not to answer. Amber did mention something about someone wishing to kill her if she spoke much.

Vuusoolta interview:
Tazzy Stream-Dancer, editor of the Den Howler had the pleasure of meeting Den Alphrans Vuusoolta at the Red Dragon Inn. Cinnamon Coffee was shared as she asked the Den Alphrans to shed some light on several Den events and a few questions floating among the Den itself. Right off the bat, the Den Alphrans was direct and to the point about starting the interview. I took him up on that directness. The first series of questions I asked was;

"Den Alphrans Vuusoolta what are your thoughts on the recent events that have happened in the Den recently?"

~There have been many recent events in the Den. Most are changes for the betterment of our people the Lupinossai.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"More importantly the dismantling of the Council of Dens and the capture of the Murderer Mogriil?"

~As to the specific two you have mentioned so far, the dismantling of the Council of Dens was needed. The Council of Dens, at it's core concept was good, but the Elders chosen was not done well, nor thought out well. Instead of picking Elders for their wisdom, age and prowess in battle or history was used as qualifications instead. In regards to the capture of the suspect, Mogriil, what would you like to know? Bear in mind he is not considered a murderer until tried in our court of laws."~ Vuusoolta Wolf.

"When you mentioned that the Elders chosen for the original Council of Dens was not chosen well has this impacted your views on the judgment your father, Fleetian Wolf, exhibited in running the Den before you?"

~My statement is not a judgment on my fathers leadership of the Den. During his stint as Den Alphrans, Fleetian Wolf has dealt with many threats to our people above and beyond adequacy. His selection of Elders, I believe was pressed due to lack of better applicants. The Den has grown considerably since his days of Den Alphrans. Which has lead to the need for a new system of leadership, and more importantly establishment of laws.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"You mention a new system of leadership. Does this include acts of violence against protesters including the execution of twenty Lupinossai males and ten females?"

~A leadership of looking out for all Lupinossai and seeing to their ensured continuation in this world where we are quite a minority. As to the deaths of those thirty Lupinossai, they were the spear head of an attempt at attacking me and other heads of the Den. When violence of that scale erupts, it is not a protest but a full revolt against their Den Alpha. I was not pleased to order their deaths, but if left alive, they would have lead the public into a mob that may have killed innocent lives. The protesters were also clad in full armor and were armed with firearms. They have wounded fifty Den Watch members bringing our peace keeping force to a crippling low number of twenty.~ Vusoolta Wolf

"I see. So what about this new system of laws rumored to replace the Council of Dens? I believe you mentioned it as being the Den Council of Laws?"

~Yes, it is called the Den Council of Laws, DCL for short. It will replace and help the Den immensely. A High Judge will oversee a series of Council Judges, each one appointed to a jurisdiction of law. They will act as public hearers and settle any disputes the public may have. If the dispute is severe or beyond the Council Judge, then the High Judge will be brought in as well. The Council of Dens was merely a collection of arguing Elders.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"And this Den Council of Laws, the DCL is where the suspect Mogriil will stand trial for killing to Den Councillors as well as the attempted murder and 3 degree torture of Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor?"

~Yes. He will be standing trial for the murders, the assault, and recent information found on the protesters has pointed to Mogriil being the inciter of the protest that turned violent.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"Now these Council Judges and the High Judge. Who are they, and what qualifies them for the position of passing judgment on a fellow Lupinossai?"

~The positions are still being filled. Each Council Judge is being selected carefully based upon the level of knowledge the candidate has for the Jurisdiction of Law that they are applying for. For instance, Council Judge of Life is a position dealing with all things medical and healing. I have a candidate selected but was unable to speak with him given his busy schedule. The judges have the right only to judge a fellow Lupinossai according to the laws set in motion.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"Would you be willing to name this candidate?"

~I have not spoken with him yet, so I will not name him. I do not wish any candidate to be socially pressured.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"With light shed on this new law system, may I ask about some of the laws that have been posted? Are you really requiring all magic using children enrolled in a school of magic or the are forced to wear an item that suppresses their magic?"

~Ah, you bring up one of the more specialized laws, Tazzy. It has been documented that a lot of pups are being born with magical gifts. Most do not realize this until they are more mature, but some have displayed destructive behavior as young as five years old. The law was set in place to help protect the children and the public from accidental harm.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"So collaring magic using children doesn't bother you?"

~That is not what was said. I merely state that if a magically active child is not being trained to understand, respect, and control a potentially dangerous force, then the risk of harm to the public, and more importantly to the child would be tragic. The device would not be a collar either. It would merely be an armband, fashionable, and not cumbersome.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"It is admirable that you would be so concerned with the public's safety that you gave the newly created Den Fangs more leeway to use force in apprehending law breakers than the Den Watch had. Is it really true that a law was passed allowing the Den Fangs to carry not just a short sword, but a musket pistol as well? What happened tot he standard issue of a staff?"

~The allowance of extra force used to subdue a law breaker is to take into account our races nature to fight and react when being challenged whether legally or illegally. The change of weaponry is more for dealing with foreign threats than being used on a law breaker. Should a Den Fang shoot or use their sword, they will answer for their actions. The staff was proven cumbersome and all Den Fangs are trained in Luprikai martial arts for subduing all suspects without harm.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"Comments on the decree that Lupinossai should seek out other Lupinossai for union and not other races unless it is the last option possible? As well as the law stating that Lupinossai with deity blood are not allowed to mate or have children unless they have a union with a none magic wielding Lupinossai or mate with a different race entirely?"

~We are a rare race. We only number in a little over 3,000 Lupinossai. The sudden appearance of so many viable races to breed with has given the Den some alarm in being completely assimilated or diluted into other races. The law applying to deities breeding is to reduce the number of magic using children that would need training or suppression.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"Any opinions about the Den rumors that you feel inadequate to fill the paw prints of your father Fleetian Wolf? He was quite the charismatic and noble leader the Den has had."

~I have no feelings of inadequacy. I applaud my fathers leadership, but he was not brought up a leader. He lead by experience from the military. I lead by rational thinking and by listening to the people.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"Wouldn't military experience be vital for a leader to have in your position? What would happen if we are attacked?"

~Military experience would benefit a leader of a military organization. I have heard many disturbing rumors that most think of the Den as nothing but hostile or militaristic Lupinossai. I wish for the Den to be known for peace, civility, and advancement. I do acknowledge that any civilization that wishes to be peaceful will inevitably need to speak softly and carry a big stick. For that reason we have a Den Military that will be activated when a threat is felt.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"So what threat has been felt that gave rise to the Den Millitary being called in to Hold Steele this morning?"

~There is no threat Tazzy. The Den Military, being newly formed needs time to drill, practice, and have mock battles to ensure each Lupinossai warrior is up to the task of the Den. This being said, for the next month, the public may see patrols, sentries, and skirmishes, but it is all part of the training.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"Comments on allegations that you were behind the murders of Councilor Ferrousbane and Councilor Argile to gain your position of leadership?"
~I will make a comment on the allegations when they are mentioned to me. I have not heard these allegations. The murder of both Councilors has been felt by all in the Den, and they will be howled and mourned for some time to come.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"May I point out that you have just heard these allegations by me. I have letters and petitions from the Den's public wishing to know your view on this."

~My dear Tazzy, I will comment then as you have pointed out that I have now been made aware of them. They are false. The Den has been through a rough ordeal of their own Elders being killed. We do have a Lupinossai that is highly suspected for those murders in custody. Also, please keep in mind that the public is still used to the ways of the Old Country where murder was a political tool. It is not a political tool that I will ever use I respected the Elders of the Council even though I have early mentioned they were not suited to their positions. It would be madness for a Den Alphrans to oppose his Elders.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"So you are saying that you have never entertained killing a fellow Lupinossai?"

~To say no to that question would be a lie. All Lupinossai have had, in their moments of temper thought of harming a fellow Lupinossai. Some do act upon those impulses and are arrested for it. Others merely cast them aside as just the mind processing the emotions of hate and anger. I have yet to raise my paw in violence against my fellow Lupinossai.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"So you have never fought in a war in the Old Country?"

~I have been in one war against the Spiritors, but who has not joined sides in that war? I followed my orders, and only killed when threatened with lethal intent.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"Why have you imposed a tax on all merchandise sold in the Den?"

~The Den has many services as well as care for widows, orphans, and packs falling on hard times. A pack takes care of its own, and a Den is a large pack of many packs. Therefore we all must help each other.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"Very well. I am quite impressed by your poise and bearing Den Alphrans Vuusoolta. Do you have any comments or statement for the Den?"

~I believe the only comments I can make would be to ask the Den to trust their new Alphrans to lead them. We have all stepped onto a new, and uncertain path. If we work together as a pack, then we will get through any trials we face.~ Vuusoolta Wolf

"Spoken like a well composed leader. I would like to thank you Den Alphrans Vuusoolta for allowing this interview. Again it was an honor to speak with you."

Apologies to all of our readers for the late newspaper. I am sure all are understanding with the recent shake up of the Den. Now I must get back on topic here. My usual article format is out the window today. I can't think in a good journalist form right now with all the sights I've seen, so this issue I am just going to lay down my thoughts and hope that conveys our current situation.

Where to start is a good question. Honestly I am quite surprised like most of us in the Den at how a murderer, who was caught, managed to escape and wreak havoc? Where were the Den Fangs? Why did he have access to a weapon? Why did he torch our hospital? The council hall going up in flames makes sense as he was going to be tried by law, but blowing up a restaurant and the Philosophers Flask?

Speaking of the laws, when Mogriil is caught, will we try him as was planned or has this now become a shoot on sight Lupinossai hunt? How will we the public exact from his hide the value of the 30 lives lost in the fires and bombing? I am just voicing the questions in my mind that I am sure you all are thinking.

Another thing, what is with the sudden explosion of deities in the Den? Seems you can't help but trip over them now? Is it something in the water? On a sadder note, it seems the body of Vuusoolta Wolf was taken by Ammy Spiritor and we don't know where it went. Is she really a demon after all and taken to body snatching for vile ceremonies?

At least we have judges now in the grand law system Vuusoolta inspired. Maybe justice will come yet. I'll leave this issue short but I do have a warning. Until Mogriil is caught, be careful out there. He's a vile, violent Lupinossai that will attack anyone. This is your public voice, Tazzy Stream-Dancer.

~Den Howler Issue 4~
Hello readers. Tazzy here back from a long leave of absence to help my parents who were injured in the bombings of the Den back in October. Boy it has been a long time since any new was written. Well, never fear, I have been on the streets and have some quick updates to get us up to speed. Bear in mind, these are going be fast, hot, and heavy.

Mogriil Captured and on Trial!
Finally! We got the bastrii, and he's facing justice. We only hope that Mogriil gets his just deserts. The fact that the trial is once again delayed make me worried that our justice system is not up to snuff yet.

Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf Alive and Well!
Deities, I swear can't make up their mind on if they are living or dead. Oh well, the Den Alphrans is back and he has seen to a lot of changes already.
*Den Hall of Laws is now completely built!
**Den Fang Law Enforcement Agency is now in full swing and hiring!
***Court System has all judge slots filled now!
****Sewer System being planned out now!
*****Magical Den Shield now in place to help minimize terror!
******Lupinossai Learning Center now built!

Den Fang Law Enforcement Agency (a.k.a. DFLEA)
I know I shouldn't laugh at our law enforcement but it sounds like were are being kept safe by a bunch of flea collars. On a serious note, DFLEA has lost 10 good officers in recent rampages by a rogue Lycan, Darius Fellblade, as well as the sudden emergence of a Spiritor who attacked a patrol outside of the Den. DFLEA is currently hiring anyone interested in keeping our streets and Den safe from crime and violence. Apply now.

Sudden Appearance of a Demon and the Ebony Knight!
Locals have reported seeing a strange demonic Lupinossai appearing to look like Ammy Spiritor, wife of former Den Alphrans Fleetian Wolf. The demon Lupinossai seems to be causing trouble and trying to lull people into the services of the Ebony Knight, long feared and almost forgotten dark deity of Lupinoss. If you see this Lupinossai, it is advised you run and contact your local DFLEA.

Lupinossai/Dragon Puppy Born!
Just to prove that the Den Howler isn't just all doom and gloom, I wish to announce (a bit late) the birth of Calcifer to Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor and her dragon mate Moonshine Silverwood-Shimmerscale. Best of luck you two as that's gotta be a big baby when he gets older.

Odd Metal Golem With a Badger Inside
Rumors and sightings have indicated the presence of an unusual black suite of power armor tromping around the Den. Don't be alarmed, reports indicate the owner is benign and mostly harmless if not easily confused.

Myrlene Youth Park Deciated and Opened!
In honor of her first born child and to show she cares about the youth of the Den, Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor opened the Myrlene Youth Park across from the Lupinossai Learning Center to give children a safe place to play. The park boasts tents, two pools, lawn games, trees, thick grass, and lots of trees.

Lupinossai Learning Center
The Lupinossai Learning Center is now built! They will be taking students on once they have staff on paw. They are now hiring.

Well that wraps up the news for now. More news to come.

Spiritor Army Spotted

This just in folks. It appears that a DFLEA areal patrol spotted a large amassing army in the Out Back region of Rhydin. What lead to this spotting was a skirmish out in the desert wastes between patrol group of orcs, ogres, dire wolves, and hobgoblins lead by a really powerful Lupinossai mage. Rumors report this mage is Igneous, a former general from the Old Country. Also reported among this skirmish was Street Wolf, former leader of the Crimson Paws rebellion in the Old Country and one of the few Den Wolf generals alive. The areal patrol managed to get away unscathed and reports that the skirmish had heavy casualties for the orcs, ogres, dire wolves, and hobgoblins.

DFLEAS Most Wanted List

The Den Fangs wish to post a look out for the following four people. They are considered armed and dangerous and should only be engaged by Den Fangs. If you spot them, please contact a Den Fang immediately.

Ammy Wolf-Spiritor: Wanted for attacks against Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf and siding with the enemy Spiritors. Very Dangerous! 600 Diamond Nuukels.

Attack on the Den Alphrans

Just when you thought the Den was safe, we have reports that the founder of the Den, Ammy Wolf-Spiritor, attacked Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf in his own office. It has been rumored that Ammy was asking Vuusoolta to step down from leadership after the scandalous conclusions and findings of the Den Vs. Mogriil case. Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf has put a bounty on Ammy Wolf-Spiritors head to be captured and brought to trial on her crimes. Den Fangs want all to be very careful as she is very powerful, resourceful, and was once a mage weapon for the Spiritors of the Old Country. Shooting on sight is advisable.

Den Vs. Mogriil Trial Concluded

In a long second half of the waited convicting of Mogriil, the court system has finally finished the case and sentenced the Lupe to 20 years servitude, exile from Den, and neutering. I am sorry, but that has to hurt. We can now rest easy from any more bombings by this creep. However, during the trial it has been alluded to that Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf was allegedly behind the murders of the Elder Council Members and that Mogriil was just a hired killer. Also rumored is Den Aphrans Vuusoolta Wolf having blackmail material on all of the former Den Elder Councilors. A riot nearly broke out in the courtroom but due to the loyalty of District Judge of Life, Fen Stridar, order was restored.

Den Voting

First laws, then trials, and now voting? How many new things Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf going to throw at us. Due to the allegations from the Den Vs. Mogriil trial and the rise of Spiritor attacks, the Den Alphrans is asking for a vote of confidence. He is willing to step down from office and even be put to trial for his involvement in the murders of the Den Elder Councilors if he is not voted back into office. He has already released several large chests of incriminating evidence against the former Den Council, but further reports on the contents and their implications are not yet known.

As to the voting in the Den, check back with the Den Howler as we will announce the candidates available for voting into the office of Den Alphrans.

Spring Weather is here!

In lighter news, the Farmers Guild is alive and busy as the Spring Weather has arrived and they are busily working the fields. If you have any lazy pups about who could use some good exercise, enjoy a little pocket money, and maybe learn how to grow things, the Farmers Guild is looking to hire for the Spring Planting Season.

Field of Honors Sports Arena Open!

Construction and clearing of the new Field of Honors Sports Arena is now open. This arena sports dueling rings, weapons practice areas, archery field, and a full length field for playing Ru'ug Bei. (Rugby) The arena is open to all Den Citizens and visitors.

Well that does it for this issues news. Stay tuned for more Den Howler Issues to come.

Well readers here is a Special Issue of the Den Howler. Sorry I didn't get it up until after the Den Voting for a new leader was done. The Den Fangs move fast and the voting lines were long. Anyways, fliers did go out through the Den with six candidates to vote for. Here is the quick listing of them:

Iissiir Foxingale, former Den Council Member, Eldest Lupe of Great Den Foxingale.

Vuusoolta Wolf, current Den Alphrans, seeking re-election after a serious blow to his leadership by the Den vs. Mogriil case.

Ammy Spiritor, wanted Lupe and current exile for attack Vuusoolta Wolf. I know, this surprised me a lot but it would seem our Heroine of the Den has a large following.

Fen Stridar, head of the Whisper Paws Hospital.

Daaluu Tiil, Eldest Lupe of Great Den Shieldar.

Haaruu Rivergem, Eldest Lupe of Great Den Graydol.

Now I know you all are curious as to who won? The listings were just released to the public and the votes are anonymous. I'll show you what percent each candidate received and how many votes that was out of the 3,000 Lupinossai voting. ((using a percentile roller on my Ipod Touch))

Iisiir Foxingale: 19% 570 votes
Vuusoolta Wolf: 35% 1,050 votes
Ammy Spiritor: 35% 1,050 votes
Fen Stridar: 9% 270 votes
Daaluu Tiil: 1% 30 votes
Haaruu Rivergem: 1% 30 votes

We have a, uhm, tie? Well now isn't this a kettle of jelly bean and worms. Wonder how they are going to handle the tie? The winners of the Den Voting is Vuusoolta Wolf and Ammy Spiritor. Maybe they'll co-run the Den? If so, I hope they take the wanted posters down or it's going to be awkward taking orders from a prison cell.

Well folks outside of the Den Voting I am to mention that the Den now has a new Magic Shield up as well as a Guardian Forest sealing off the Den Entry to the Glen. This is all done to keep us safe from the rogue Spiritor, Igneous. Please see the Den Fangs for you official Den Port Key, the Den Alphranses, or the Loaas.

Greetings to everyone! Here's the latest news.

Street Wolf Has Been Caught!
Today, the Den Fangs have taken Street Wolf into custody. Acting on tips and leads from a few eyewitnesses, Street Wolf was found barricaded in Dark Hearts Well alcove. The former Den Wolf general has been taken to Whisper Paws Hospital in severe medical conditions. Officials have reported that his injuries were old and due to possibly the first skirmish that lead to the Den Army being mobilized. He is to be questioned once Dr. Fen Stridar has released him from medical care.

Den Hall of Laws Debates Tie in Den Ruler Voting!
As you all know, we recently had a Den wide vote for who should replace former Den Alphran's Vuusoolta Wolf. This voting was even suggested by the former Alphrans. When the votes were tallied there was a tie between Vuusoolta Wolf and Ammy Spiritor for Den Alphrans. The Den Hall of Laws is now debating and considering what may happen if the Den were to be ruled by two Den Alphrans or if a tie breaking vote should be issued. More news to come on this story.

Creepiness in the Southern Glen!
Several Lupinossai have claimed hearing loud and frightening roars emanating from deep inside the Southern Glen Forrest. Den Fangs advise all Lupinossai to travel in pairs and to not go into the deep forest until than can be investigated further.

Missing!
The Rivergem family has made an official report to the Den Fangs that their daughter Vixie Rivergem has gone missing for the last three days. If you know anything about where she is, contact the Den Fangs immediately.

Whisper Paws Hospital reports that Dr. Fleetian Wolf disappeared from a midnight shift and has not been seen for two weeks. Any information on his whereabouts is would be helpful.

New from the Front Lines!
The Den Army has come to blows with General Igneous' army in the Out Back. So far reports indicate both armies are at a stale mate. Scouts report a number of casualties on the enemy side and five wound soldiers on our side. The fact that Den War Mages and War Mages on the other side have kept things from moving.

Wanted Update!
Due to recent events, Street Wolf is no longer wanted after being caught. Igneous is now considered too dangerous for capture by civilians. The bounty will still be paid to any military personnel that bring him in. Amaretto is still at large.
Ammy Spiritor is still at large though her status as wanted is looking shaky due to the Den Voting.
Mirius Pojerus is wanted as an accessory to Ammy Spiritors involvements for questioning.

That's a wrap for now. Read all about the news in the next issue of the Den Howler!

Greeting once again fellow readers. Boy today's issue is going to be a doozy.

Den Hall of Laws Reaches Verdict!
Today, the Den Hall of Laws has ended a week long debate over the outcome to the Den Voting for a change in Den Alphrans. As you may recall Vuusoolta Wolf and Ammy Spiritor tied for the position. The High Judge Caravoos made the following statement:

"My fellow pack brothers and pack sisters. We have poured over every known record in history regarding the possibilities of a Great Den, and yes we are a unified Great Den, being ruled by two Den Alphrans at once. No records have been shown. Only endless accounts of a single Alphrans ruling the Great Dens. This habit, as seen and remembered by many has succeeded successfully or failed horrifically.

I and your fellow Jurisdiction Judges believe in upholding the goals that our former Alphrans Fleetian Wolf established along with our founder Ammy Spiritor. We wish to look to the horizon and as Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf pointed out after the bombings last year to welcome a new age into the Den. Therefore, by unanimous consent, we hereby state that the Den may be ruled by two Den Alphrans at the same time.

We hope that this dual leadership will provide a much needed check and balance system still lacking in our Den's leadership."

There you have it folks. We now have two Den Alphrans. Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf, and as reports claim, his stepmother Alphrans Ammy Spiritor.

Still missing!
It is a sad to day to post news of missing Lupinossai, but it must be done. The Den Fang Head Quarters reports the following missing Lupinossai:

Vixie Rivergem
Fleetian Wolf
Ammy Spiritor
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor

Ammy Spiritor is now no longer considered a criminal. Vuusoolta Wolf urges any who find her to bring her home immediately. Fleetian Wolf is still missing as well. What has happened to our two heroes of the Den? Vixie Rivergem is still missing and her parents are now asking anyone to find her. They'll pay anything to get their precious daughter back.

Recently added to this list is Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor, Lieutenant of the Den Fangs. Chief Frostad Shieldar made this statement to the Den Howler:

"Yes, Myrlene has disappeared. She hasn't been on duty for a week now and her last known whereabouts showed an empty lair. Her mate and her child are missing as well. Given the light of the recent war and her parents vanishing, I am confident in saying that Myrlene has struck to do her own personal investigation into the matters at paw. She will not be fired and will be welcomed back to the Den Fangs."

News from the Front Lines!
The recent skinny on the war between Den troops and General Igneous' army is looking a bit grim. Once a stalemate, the Den army is reporting a sudden rise in precise strikes along their front lines. 24 Lupinossai have been killed and 6 are missing in action. Rumor has it that General Igneous has a competent field commander in place now. We can only hope that this is just a rumor and that further casualties will be light on our side. Death toll on the enemy has yet to be discerned.

Strange crash at the Southern Glen Lake!
Earlier this week, witnesses claim they heard a large roaring splash in the Southern Glens lake. Those on the scene claim that something huge must have hit after seeing metal debris washed up to the tree lines. As to what crashed, no one knows yet. A team of Riivii divers are to be dispatched to the lake to find out.

That's the news for now.

Well, I am proud to say that with the war now over, ink and paper are no longer scarce to find. This means the Den Howler is back in business, and boy is there business hopping all over the place!

The New Spiritor War: Is Over!

This is no longer new news, but it is worth stating for the record that the 'New Spiritor War' has ended. Reports from several war veterans on their long awaited trek home confirmed the war was over. Fang Knight Lucky Blade-Catcher was heard saying, "I'll tell you this much, it was the oddest war yet that I've shed blood in. Magic users flinging fireballs, strange metal creatures flying in the air, and at the end of it all, snow! It was snowing in the middle of summer!"

I asked the leader of the Den Army, Vuusoolta Wolf, if hostilities were indeed ended. I believe his words say it all in this quote,

"That Spiritor has learned, no, all the Spiritors have learned, that when you come knocking on our doorstep with a blood feud best left in the past, we will finish it. General Igneous Fi'igoo has sworn an oath to our Den now. He will no longer be trouble, and soon a signing of the Sister Den Pact will ensure he never attacks us again."

A further interview with Vuusoolta was cut short on the grounds that he was tired, and obviously worried about the beautiful female in his arms. Is he tired? Is he in love? Who is the female? More will come on that story later.

War Memorial Erected In The Soul Garden

In honor of all those lost in the New Spiritor War, a war memorial has been created to honor their sacrifice. The memorial is a bit odd in it's construction by using metal dog tags instead of the traditional soul gems that are in the Soul Garden. The memorial was fashioned by local black smith, Moonshine. Moonshine, who is a dragon, and mated with DLFEA Lieutenant Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor, spoke about why dog tags were used.

"I believe that the soul gems of the fallen would be in better care amidst their living relatives. A sacred household treasure beyond belief. The dog tags used are not ones in military service as the Den Army seems to be behind the times in identifying their personnel. I do urge the military to use dog tags. Until then, I have personally visited each family who has lost someone in the war, as well as the city archive, obtaining the names of the fallen to put onto blank dog tags. To show how much our soldiers mean to us, I fashioned the dog tags into a large coat of arms to show that it is the dead who buy our peace."

The War Memorial is now available for all to see in the Soul Garden, the Den Howler wishes to thank Sean Walley, local Den Veterinarian for the photos of the memorial we are using. Many families have been hit hard, and many new orphans have been made. If you would like to offer financial or food donations to help the needy, please contact the Community Den or the Wings of Foxingale Orphenage.

Charges Dropped On All Suspects!

With the end of the war, reports and testimonies have flooded in to the Den Hall of Laws in regards to the lead up of the war. The actions of Ammy Loraine Spiritor, Mirius Pojoris, Street Wolf, and Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor have been considered patriotic, though many still claim the deeds to be traitorous. The charges ran from aiding and abetting criminals, inciting civil unrest, attack upon Den DFLEA Agents, fleeing arrest, siding with an enemy force, and actively attacking Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf. All of these charges have been proven to be undercover work to ascertain and weed out insurrection starters from the Den.

As of this time, Ammy Spiritor, Mirius Pojoris, and Street Wolf, are no longer wanted. The Ebon Knight and Amaretto are still unaccounted for. On a happier note, Vixie Rivergem, kidnapped daughter of the Rivergem family, was returned to the family. Who was her rescuer? None other than previously exiled Mogriil Wolf. Honestly, it seems that we have a fairy tale of all the bad guys turning good? There are talks about awarding Mogriil a medal of Bravery.

Sister Den Pact Signed Into Being

A week after the New Spiritor War, defeated General Igneous Fi'igoo met with Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf to sign the Sister Den Pact. This is the first official document declaring a truce between Den Spiritor and the other Great Dens. Upon review of the document, a new den city, Fang Wood, has been started in the Outback. This den city is built to accept Lupinossai from the Old Country who cannot seem to adjust to a new life of peace as well as being a training city for all mercenaries of all races.

Fang Wood Den will also be offering military support for the Den during the recovery period after the war. Honoring that deal, General Igneous Fi'igoo, now titled governor Fi'igoo, has sent a detachment of Drow mercenaries to help fill the thing ranks of DFLEA. This has come at a time of dire need indeed. Fang Wood will also have open trade with the Den. Den Alphrans Wolf has asked all of us to lift up a howl of welcome to the new sister den.

Crime Soars In The Den

With no surprise due to the spike in orphans and destitute families, the Den is facing an alarming increase in crime. Vandalism, theft, and shootings have risen as well as reports of a Black Market peddling items, stolen, of high value, or incredibly dangerous abound. What is truly shocking is the age range of these criminals. After speaking with Comissioner Frostad Shieldar, head of DFLEA, he reports that most of the criminals arrested have been minors under the age of 16. You may be wondering what DFLEA does with these miinooa alphrans when caught. I asked Comissioner Shiedar to comment.

"It is true that most of the criminals caught during this sweeping tide of crimes are under the age of 16. I do want it made perfectly clear that they are not placed with adult criminals in Fort Steele. They are held at DFLEA HQ for two days while we find traces of any living relatives. If we find them, then the child is remanded to the parents for just punishment as well as a term of community service. However, if living relatives are not found, then by law, we must let them go. My Lieutenant, Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor, has found this procedure grossly inadequate to handle repeat offenders. She has been tasked with a new reform program to handle our troubled youth. You may interview her directly for more information on Project Busy Paws."

Well it is nice to know that DFLEA isn't just sitting on their paws. DFLEA would like me to remind everyone that it is dangerous to go out alone at night in the abandoned housing district. All Lupes are encouraged to avoid the area until further notice. It is noted that if you run into criminals to run and alert DFLEA. All criminals are armed and dangerous.

Light Of The Community: Cult or Community Hope?

With all of this crime and despair, posters have been plastered throughout the Den encouraging Lupes to join a community gathering of light. Is this a cult that is forming within the Den due to decreasing divine intervention? I have an interview with the leaders of this movement later in the week. The leaders do assure all Lupes and DFLEA agents that this isn't a cult and that all meetings are open to anyone interested. Some bystanders have commented that they have heard the singing of songs once lost in the Old Country, and seeing neighbors with a new found sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe we have something to get us through the day? And how will this affect former and current worshipers of Canis and Lupis? All of these questions will be asked during the interview.

Rhydin Benghu Fever: Are We At Risk?

Reports from several Lupe merchants in Rhydin City report that a medical problem is rising in that city. Reports state that all humans, and many of the humanoid races are seeking out mandated vaccinations that the Governor Fio Helston and the GAC body have agreed upon. As to whether or not Lupinossai are at risk from exposure, I have turned to Dr. Fen Stridar, Chief of Staff at Whisper Paws Hospital.

"We have taken a look into the Rhydin Benghu Fever. Dr. Aeral Prater, head of our Den Center for Disease Control has examined public data on the virus. He has determined that our genetics are not at present, vulnerable to RBF. However, we will keep close watch on all patients as we have a policy of accepting any patient, even none Lupinossai. We will update you all as we know more."

Local Farmers Corner

In the tradition of keeping the Den Howler fresh and interesting, I am adding a Farmers Corner for farming tips, advice, and prices. Today's Farmer Corner Tid Bit: Rice or Potatoes? A few of the farming guilds believe that potatoes are the new cash crop, ushering out the labor intensive rice crops and the delicate bogs to raise it in. Of course the Rice Guild states that the Potato Guild can go back to hiding there heads under the dirt as the general populace knows that Rice is more filling and makes better vinegar and wines. Not one to be outdone, the Potato Guild will be holding on all day fair of potato goods ranging from hash browns, to Potato Vodka. The Rice Guild is holding a Saki tasting fair and Sushi bar the following day.

Currently, Potato crops are earning 5 ruby knuukles per kilo, while Rice crops are earning 8 ruby knuuckles per kilo. Did you know that you can get more yield out of your crops if you take your left over fish entrails and mix it with your soil. Finally, a way out for all of you fish haters.

This wraps up this issue of the Den Howler. We'll have a few interviews coming in the next issue, so I hope you all buy a copy soon!
