A Wind of Change:
Tenseness would be the best the word to describe the feeling of all Den citizens. The Den is no longer a Den of carefree life, love, and romantic battles. Some Lupes may say that the change is a good one. Many rumors surfaced during the days of the Councilor Murders that the whole Den command system was nothing more than Alphrans with their hands in the milk bone jar. Those embracing the change hope to see Alphrans that care about the citizens of the Den, and not biting each other for a higher position.
Those resisting the change state that the Den has merely swapped masters, trading the old and tired council for a new hotshot Alphrans that few have seen lead. Survivors of the Den Revolt say that Vuusoolta Wolf is nothing but a violent tyrant. Twenty Lupinossai lost their lives defending their families while standing in support of the Council of Dens during the week long revolt. How many more widows and orphans have you created Vuusoolta, son of Fleetian Wolf? Do you feel inadequate to fill your sires paw prints in leadership that you resorted to military might?
The Council of Dens may be gone, but the Hall still remains and has been undergoing renovation. In a public calling, Vuusoolta Wolf mentioned a new system of law to be instigated in place of the Council of Dens as well as the creation of the Den Fangs and the removal of the Den Watch. The only difference between the two law keeping organizations is the Den Fangs being allowed more leeway for violence. The Den will hold its collective breath watching how much of a rabid dog Vuusoolta has set loose on the Den.
The changes to the Den is not all bad. Finally a hall of learning is being built where all of us may go and discover the missing pieces of our history, heritage, and lost arts. So there you have it. With the changes blowing in like a chill wind, the Den is standing on a thin wire balanced between view that the new Den Alphrans is nothing but a tyrant in sheep wool, or a leader with a vision.
Suspect Arrested in Council of Den Murders:
With many suppositions, suspicions, and fear, a possible suspect was arrested two weeks ago. Mogriil, estranged son of Street Wolf, was apprehended during his flight from the Den. His capture was due in part to Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor and a dragon named Moonshine. Reports from the newly formed Den Fangs claim that Myrlene was severely injured in the apprehension but has since received medical attention and is doing well.
Mogriil is sitting in confinement within Steele?s Hold awaiting a trial date. That date will be coming sooner than later as Den Alphrans Vuusoolta Wolf is gathering candidates for the new law system. Much of the investigation, as well as an assist in the arrest come from a draconian named Verbosk. One can only wonder why outsiders would take an interest in Den matters. Verbosk?s involvement seems to be spawned out of the incident of finding the body of Ferrousbane of Den Steele in the basement of the well known tavern the Red Dragon Inn located in Rhydin city.
Councilor Issiir of Foxingale, Councilor Balsa of Stridar, and Councilor Sliinka of Sprintar are reported to be safe, secure, and watching the proceedings. When asked about the change and assemblage of the new law system, Councilor Issiir stated
?Justice and wisdom are fluid concepts and cannot function if allowed to stagnate. New avenues must be travelled to ensure that all are treated justly. Our time has come and gone. Now we will sit, watch, and lend guidance if asked.?
All we can do is wait for the hearing date. The trial of Mogriil will be the first court trial in the history of the den.
A Law System Has Risen Out of the Ashes of the Council of Dens:
The Den Howler has been informed that effective immediately the Den citizens will subject to Den Laws. To govern these laws will be a system of a High Judge and several lesser judges that will hear cases in their respective jurisdiction. Being a new system of laws though, the offices of the judges are vacant. Den Alphrans Vuusoolta is seeking candidates to fill these positions.
It is mandatory that all citizens know the thirteen Blood Tenants of the Den. They may study the other laws as well. Honestly, what was wrong with the old days of settling your own problems with action? Now we have one more reason to eyeball the Den Fangs. This new law system will supposedly give an ear to any who have a issue or dispute. We will see how long this lasts.
