Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: Sitting on the cold marble floor of an outdoor pavilion, magnetic chalk circle and glyphs around her was Lene. Gray eyes focused past the glyphs on the inner circle and on a pile of metal set inside the circle. Take a few deep breaths, she clapped her paws, the sound echoing in the outdoors and touched her paws to the array around. The snap and crackle of pink energy danced along the chalk lines. The metal pieces on the marble started to bend a little and take on a runny appearance.
Ammy Spiritor: Ammy sat on a marble bench, a cool breeze teasing her scarlet red hair that was held in simple pony tail with a silver chain. Her golden eyes watched Lene as her daughter worked alchemical magic. Infinus, her familiar phoenix perched on a rail near her watching as well. Ammy was garbed in a white kimono with Cherry Blossoms of pink on it. Her paws, furred and stone, clutched her ebony walking stick with the braces on her legs peeking out through the slits in the kimono.
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: The metal started to take on a vague shape of a knife blade then the whole array fizzled with a slight 'boom' of noise and puff of smoke and chalk dust.
Ammy Spiritor: Ammy sighed and stroked Infinus' head. "You made another mistake Lene."
Mirius Pojoris: Mirius was sitting beside Ammy and was wearing a long black flowing skirt and a black shirt to go along with it. She had gotten them when she went out clothes shopping one day. She watched Myrlene practicing the magic and listened to Ammy silently.
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: Coughing and choking on the chalk dust, Lene looked at her blasted and ruined array. The lump of metal was just a lump now, not individual pieces as before, nor a nice knife as intended. "Mudra!" she howled in frustration. She went over the array in her mind again and even pulled out a primer book on alchemy. This was the third time today this array failed. She didn't know what was wrong but she picked up the chalk and started drawing again, cursing.
Ammy Spiritor: "Anger makes a less precise mage, Lene. Calm down and think. Why did the array lash back at you? What have you forgotten?" she said in a teasing professor?s tone.
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: "Belief in Fairies? Blood of a virgin? Balls of a Bat? How should I know! You're the alchemist of the family. Why do I have to learn this? What's wrong with me just using arcane magic spells and the Force?"
Ammy Spiritor: Ammy rubbed her temple and leaned against Mirius. "Not this argument again..."
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: "Honestly, mom, you are the badass of alchemy. Why teach me? I can't transmute hot water to save my life. Bet Mirius could do better than me. I just want to be a mom and not rely on all the fancy magic."
Mirius Pojoris: "I don't know crap about magic, Lene." She smiled some. "I had to learn a lot of things when I was in war. I had to learn how to use things I wasn't good at otherwise I would've been screwed. I'm not sayin' that's the case here, but it just helps even if ye learn a lil' bit."
Infinus regarded Lene and spoke to her. Young one. You fail to see the long wisdom of your mother. She knows, as you must know, that life has a way of ending suddenly. She only wishes to pass on her knowledge and essence to her only daughter, though I believe a few gifts are on the way? the phoenix looked at Ammy. Ammy just blushed and didn't look at anyone.
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: "Stow it feather brain. Mom can't die. She's a Looa now thanks to father." she snapped back hotly as she finished up the array. She was definitely Ammy's kid.
Ammy Spiritor: Infinus was about to start in when Ammy raised a paw. "You'd be better off trying to tell a Spiritor how to be kind and noble and become a Nun, Infinus. Lene is a pup after my own heart." She gave Mirius a long hug and a nuzzle, and then looked at Lene. "Mirius and Infinus have a point Lene. Knowing different types of magic will help in many situations. It's... the only reason I survived Artisia's captivity. That and I wanted to pass onto you something I won?t be teaching any of my future pups."
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: Chalk about dropped. "Wait, back up a minute. Future pups? You're not saying that... you... dad.... yer...?" eyes went wide.
Mirius Pojoris: "Guess she didn't tell ye about that did she?" She grinned at Myrlene then to Ammy.
Ammy Spiritor: Ammy simply nodded and went back to hugging the stuffing out of Mirius.
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: "No...she didn't..." she went back to the array in wonder. She liked being the only pup. Damn it, now she'll have to put up with younger siblings. Rawsha wasn't bad at all. She liked her as a sister. The array done, she studied it more, looking for anything missing then remembered something Dr. Stridar had said to her during Cal's last check up. "And I guess Mom doesn't know dads little secret..." she said in a taunting little song.
Mirius Pojoris: Mirius would hug an arm around Ammy and hold her close and gave her a gentle kiss. She still had a little bit of jealousy, but it wasn't that bad anymore. She was mostly over that now.
Ammy Spiritor: "What secret is that?"
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: "Not saying." she grinned and realized from her notes and book she'd left out a few symbols and started correcting the array.
Ammy Spiritor: Ammy arched a furred brow at her daughter?s sheer defiance. "Myrlene Alloa Wolf-Spiritor."
Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor: This time the chalk dropped. Being a mom herself she knew what happened. Mom just used her full name. She was in deep mudrah now.
Mirius Pojoris: Mirius just snickered to herself a little.
Ammy Spiritor: "Tell me what your father has done this time." little room for argument in that tone.
