In the background of her office thumped the bass beat of Scarred by Kevin Rudolf, the charcoal tinted glass over looking her personal dance club, Jade Tails & Ruby Heels. It sounded like the new DJ she hired was putting the sound system through a few paces. Cobalt leaned forward in her blue velvet office chair and clicked an intercom button.

"Dix, scoot yer DB's down by 4, we don't want deaf customers or entertainers. Sound levels all feel righ' on this end though shugah." She sat back.

The rattling thumps in her office dulled some to a comfortable and steady pace. She grinned and made a note to look into how much Dix was getting paid when she visited her head DJ Simon. She tried to relax a bit as she sat, which her cozy denim dj vest, satin black pants and cotton grey t-shirt should have helped, but no amount of cozy was helping. On her desk lay several highlight, underlined and overly read reports from DFLEA HQ, Patrol Reports, News Reports and hells, a written copy of the verbal discussion she had with Governor Mirius Spiritor.

Rubbing the bridge of her muzzle she slid on her head set and tapped play on a remix of Comin' Back by the Crystal Method. How the hell did one of the rental spots in Foxingale Plaza slip inspections and licensing as an adult club. Renly is going to get chewed on when I find him.

Lira, her personal assistant by day, one her better professional dancers by night enetered her office and made a face on her delicate elven face. She had a diet Pepsi in her hand so Cobalt decided to let the look of concern slide.

"Are you still cooped up in here sulking?" Lira asked. She sat the diet Pepsi down on the desk in front of her boss.

Cobalt waved her deep blue furred hand dismissively at Lira. "I have a right to sulk for a bit. This incident is not good for Foxingale Plaza as a whole. If parents and districts are concerned about anyone under 18 shopping at this center, we are going to lose 50% of our clientelle and income. I am mostly pissed at Renly for letting Club Stars slip inspection and investigation. They should have been liscensed and moved to Floor 4 as an Adult Only Club."

Cobalt slid her head set down and snagged the diet Pepsi, sipping at it.

Liri sat on her desk, showing off the exotic, supple curves through her green spandex pants and black velvet corsette that convinced Cobalt to hire her for the prime time shows. "Just one mistake boss. Can't let that get you down. We've had a good year with no issues till now. Nothing to worry about right? DFLEA knows this was a mistake and not planned neglect right?"

Cobalt shook her head and sighed, sliding a few stray hairs of blue hair that glowed in the flourescent lights. "Wish that was the case Lira. I am the owner of this plaza, made a point of making a safe, public community for all to enjoy. Because Club Stars was able to set up, run their idiocy and make a profit for several months, I am at fault for neglect, even if it was Renly not doing his job or being paid off. I am still looking into his case. In short, Den City got a nice sizable donation to the government coffers to the ring of 200,000 Silver Crowns and DFLEA hit me with a fine for 100,000 Silver Crowns, plus 20 lawsuits to cover hospital bills and trauma to those kids that went to that house drugged from Club Stars. Tha's another 500,000 Silver Crowns and let's not mention a personal donation to Whisper Paws Hospital to care for the two girls in ICU that I personally know. That was 500,000 alone for them. I've had to swallow a 1.3 Million Crown loss."

Lira gave a wince and a sigh. "We'll make it back with the theaters and other clubs in a month or two."

Cobalt gave a soft sigh and a resigned nod. She stood and slid on her gun belt then warm, denim jacket over her vest and shirt. "I'm gonna take a long walk around the plaza and maybe outside. Hold my calls, take messages, the usual and if I am not back in time for the dance show to start start without me and send me a page asap."

Lira nodded to Cobalt as she watched the Lupe leave the office.

Cobalt left her office loft and descended the stairs at the end of the black metal catwalk. She gave a glance over the newest club in her chain of clubs through out several realms. Jade Tails and Ruby Heels sounded like the cheesy kind of adult club to be tacky until you visited. The whole club was designed and decorated by her after visiting every area of Rhdy'Din City and Den City to get a feel of what most of her clientelle enjoyed.

The club was done up in a 1920's style Burlesque Bar seen in the Flapper Days of Earth, though given enoug modern touch to allow some bedazzling light effects and music. Clothing on her staff here often ranged from Wild West, 20's and 30's Speak Easy and Flapper styles, to even 40's and 50's Zoot Suites and Pen Striped Maffia attire. She had not a single complaint from her repeat customers making her finally smile some.

"Hoy! Miz Fenua!" Called a man from the bar section tucked about 30 feet from oak hardwood dance floor and raised dancing runway lined with red velvet.

"Raemon." She said with a nod.

The man gave her a charming smile that could make most women forget their marital obligations and willing offer phone numbers. Then again, Cobalt had hired the Cuban for his looks and barside manner. Standing in his preferred attire of white satin long sleeve shirt, ebony felt vest, and olive corderoy slacks that bordered on black in the soft lighting of the club. His slim black tie finished the ensemble as he fastened his deep brown gaze on her.

"Lira mentions you're troubled. Should I make your usual drink?" He asked in a smooth voice with only a hint of accent.

"Not today Raemon, and Lira needs to learn when to keep Bubble Gum glittered lips shut." She said. A small sigh escaped her. "Maybe I am bothered Raemon." She took a seat on a bar stool and leaned against the bar.

Raemon just smiled and begun wiping down the polished and oiled oak wood bar top. "You know what they say, Miz Fenua, if you cannot lean on the shoulders of your barber or bar tender, then who can you lean on?"

That quote saying made her smile just a bit. "I'm a bit burnt from this fiasco with Club Stars. I should've known something was fishy in my own plaza. I think I'm losing my touch in running a business."

Raemon listened, he finished wiping the bar down and began fixing a blue tinted drink made from seltzer water, blue berry schnapps, one ice cube. He slid the drink to Cobalt's elbow.

"I think you've not lost your touch. How many big plaza's you own or run before this one?" He asked.

Cobalt grinned seeing the drink there and politely gave her favorit mix from him a sip. "This is the first plaza I've owned. Mostly I've run just a single club until someone was groomed to take over and move on to the next one."

"Ah, so being the first, I think perhaps mistakes are allowed since this is a new dance for you, yes?" He said.

Cobalt gave one more sip and gave Raemon a long stare, then she nodded and stood up. "I feel alot better now. You're right. Mistakes will happen in this plaza. I wonder why I forgot that?"

"Because you have a big heart to protect what is yours and a reputation the size of King Kong, no?" He gave her a smile that could melt the ice caps of a planet.

She just laughed as she walked for the front entry of the club. She looked back to him. "You are too good at this, Raemon."

Raemon just grinned more. "I know, Miz Fenua."

Cobalt left the club and was out on the fourth floor of Foxingale Plaza called the Desire Floor. It was mostly filled with adult entertainment buisnesses ranging from clubs, to movie theaters, shops and bars with a few empy shop slots just waiting for new business. The whole floor was painted and schemed to match a detective style film noire. She started walking the main walking lane labeled Desire Avenue.

Granted the floor space of Foxingale Plaza was massive, covering four different building complexes, with four floors, set up like a four cornered layered box with a nice little park center on the street level nestled in the center of the four complex plaza. Each complex was connected on each floor by enclosed pairs of walking bridges. The complexes were named Bazzare, Cinnematic, Food & Fun and Groove. Desire Avenu was the main walkway that took you through all four complexes on the Desire floor; it was the inner path way, with Night Life Avenue being the outer path walk way with heavily tinted windows with little pinprick holes in the tint to simulate stars.

Cobalt passed a few skimpy clothing shops in the Bazarre complex and gave a wave to the Drow owner of Leather & Pain; a smile and a few kind words exchanged with a pretty human lady in a soft, grey satin dress offering free samples of eddible products from A Taste of Passion; she shared a cup of coffee with the Hill Dwarf owner of Sensual Roasts and chatted with the Airii Lupinossai owner of Peepers, the adult movie theater. Everyone was doing fine it seemed. Sales were up, customers were behaving, only one call was made to security when a few ladies went hostile with each over when a few 'toys' went on clearance sale. Cobalt just laughed hearing that incident and thanked them all for remaining merchants in her plaza since the media event. They all told her they wouldn't leave because of one soured club.

She left the Bazarre complex and walked through the covered walkway to the Groove complex . She left Desire Avenue and went up a side lane, Heart Beat Alley, was the simple white signage on faux brick walling of a Latex Lover's store. Even though every club was heavily sound proofed, she could hear and feel the minute thrum from wubs and dubstepping music as she came upon two of the six clubs in this complex. The Velvet Curtain and the Blues Cabaret were two of the more mellower adult clubs on this level mostly opening for evening events only. Both had their doors closed as sound checks ran, staff was setting up for the daily show, and gals and guys of the lime light were getting prepped. The other clubs were in full swing catering more to the 24/7 hunger of entertainment Den City wanted to chase away the daily grind and fears the populace has had to put up with. They were Club 69, Glitter and a new addition, the Silk Slipper.

Cobalt ducked into Glitter for a moment or two to see how they were doing. A saucy song by Prince was being played as multi-colored lights made the silver glitter worked into every area of the club twinkle with rainbows. The club had a full dance floor of a large, mixed variety of patrons. She let her hips sway and bop to the music as she spoke with a bartender that was a Draconian. The general gossip around the club so far was positive about no one being afraid to come to the plaza, and so far management had no concerns to air to Cobalt. She gave him a nod, a tip even if she didn't order a drink and left the club feeling a bit better hearing people were happy on this level so far. She was soon headed down Desire Avenue and to the elevator in the Groove complex.

A swipe of an I.D. card that she withdrew from a hip pocket had a chip with her name, age, race and culture on it across a chip reader and the elevator opened for her. Tucking the card back into her hip pocket she stepped in and puched to go down to level 3, Haven. The I.D. card was something only adults could buy at the service kiosks of the plaza and they were encoded to the DNA of each card holder. They gave the card holder access to certain levels that were appropriate for them and their age levels.

Entering the elevator, Cobalt listened to the soft Cha-Cha elevator music and soon a females voice spoke from the elevators speaker.

"Third Floor. Haven Level. Thank you for choosing the Foxingale Plaza for your entertainment needs. Watch your step and have a good day."

She left the elevator and stared to walk the inner avenue called Peace of Mind. She was headed for the Food & Fun complex hoping to meet up with a certain man that had made her dreams here possible. Soon she was slipping into Aces R Wild, a casino themed bar and grill. She walked to the bar and took a seat, ordering a Rum and Pepsi hoping she was following the right hung. She slowly looked around the busy bar and grill.

An eight foot tall, black furred Erthrii would soon join Cobalt, sitting on a chair beside her. It was Tyris, dressed up in a nice red shirt and black pants. he would rest his hands on the bar and clasped them together as he asked the bartender for a glass of whiskey. A smile would appear on his face as he looked over at Cobalt, looking very pleased.

"Hello, Misses Cobalt. How are you this fine evening?" he asked.

Cobalt took a sip of her rum and Pepsi and gave a warm, flirt of a smile to Tyris. "Well 'ello, tall and handsome. The evenin' has been provin' rather distractin' and not in a good way. Ye could say I've been rubbin' my paddled fanny from this whole Club Stars mess. Lost a lot funds because of it and I'm a wonderin' how that club slipped by my head of operations."

She leaned against the bar and drunk in the view of Tyris for a long while. His wife was lucky having that stud and the package that came with him. She was grinning thinking about Tyris in another fashion, perhaps a bit more native.

"An' how's yer day been goin' Tyris? Yer peeps all happy with their basement floor for really good deals?" she asked with a wink.

He would listen to Cobalt carefully as he was given his glass of whiskey and he would his his drink slowly. He would have made sure to pay for it as well as give the bartender a nice tip. Tyris thought on her words before finally speaking, "My end of all this is doing just fine, although I cannot say I'm surprised at this incident. Rhy'Din gets the fair shares of people slipping drugs into clubs at their places; it was only a matter of time before it happened here."

He would sip on his whiskey and looked over to her. His own eyes may have been observing her for a few seconds, but to Tyris business always came first and his mind went back to thinking on the original subject. "I will be looking into my part of the business and begin looking for where things may be leaking or people not following the rules. Some people believe I don't have rules for my shady business, but they are wrong on that. I have been successful because I followed rules and those who have worked with me follow the same rules." he paused for a moment then added, "I suggest for now we look into getting some form of identification when people go in and out of these places and something to check peoples blood levels, but not in a way some security personnel harasses you. What do you think of that as a rough idea?" he asked her.

While Tyris could run businesses on his own, this was Cobalt's place. he wasn't going to start giving orders to his business partner and make her uncomfortable. To him it was important that his business partners were comfortable.

She sipped her rum and Pepsi and listened to what Tyris suggested. "Hmm. Well I know we have the ID card that are required to go to the upper and lower levels. Though ahm supposin' that would do little for toxic level readouts."

Cobalt rubbed her nose a bit then sipped more of her drink. "Ah kinda wish you could do somethin' like those county fair bracelets. You know, the ones we have in our arcade sections that let ye play anything you want up to a certain limit and let you come and go anytime ye wanted. Actually a bracelet ID would be a nice, trending way to go for security and safety. What do you think? Maybe find a way to add in some sensors to them as well?"
