Frostad Shieldar

Date: 2011-02-06 13:26 EST
The Teas'n Tomes was a distinguished bookstore in the heart of the Rhydin community. It was selected for a meeting tonight between judges, a prosecutor, and a defense attorney. The trial of The Den Vs. Mogriil would be starting soon. Tonight, Judge Fleetian Wolf of Foreign Affairs, and Judge Fen Spiritor of Life will review Prosecutor Frostad Shieldars case and listen to the preliminary defense by Street Wolf, father of Mogriil and self appointed defense of the accused Lupinossai.

The bell on the front door would ring four times in a row as the four Lupinossai entered the store. The owner simply waved them to a booth in the far back and up a flight of stairs. He would bring them all drinks and a tray of cookies at the appointed time. Fleety nodded hir acceptance of the man?s understanding. Shi led them to the booth and after the other three had entered, shi drew the heavy drape shut. Shi held up a clawed finger to hir lips to let the others know to keep silent.

Fleetwolf: "Ni'ivi'is oomas i'in ewska." the words were followed by a pull of power. Fleety then took a seat and nodded indicating that what was said in the booth remained for only them to hear.

Fen Stridar: "Thank you for seeing to the privacy of this preliminary meeting. Gentlemen, and fellow brethren, I trust you know that this meeting is of grave importance. A life hangs in the balance of our infant judicial system. This is our first trial. We must ensure that procedure and law is followed to set the stage for following trials. To keep record of this meeting we will have a spelled pen and paper to record everything done tonight. Everyone understand?" Fen asked in a serious tone.

Fleetwolf: Fleety nodded that shi understood completely.

Street Wolf: Street nodded as well.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost simply blinked his acknowledgement.

Fen Stridar: "Very well. Fleetian will prepare the paper and pen." Fen ordered.

Fleetwolf: Fleety nodded again and withdrew a pad of paper and a pen. A few gestures and the pen and paper floated. The pen remained poised to write as soon as a word was spoken.

Fen Stridar: Fen waved a paw for Prosecutor Frostad Shieldar to present his case.

Frostad Shieldar: "Honorable Judge Fen Stridar and Honorable Judge Fleetian Wolf. I am Prosecutor Frostad Shieldar. I also respond to the name Frost. The case I bring forward for review is The Den Vs. Mogriil. The accused has been brought forth on charges of breaking fifteen different Den Laws that span 3 Jurisdictions and the Blood Laws. Several laws have been broken repeatedly. The accused, Mogriil Wolf, is unsafe and unfit for our society to remain free or, dare I suggest to remain alive." Frost spoke.

Fen Stridar: Fen nodded. He looked to Fleetian.

Fleetwolf: Fleety nodded as well. "Very well, Prosecutor Shieldar. We acknowledge your beginning presentation. Defender Street Wolf, what is your presenting case?"

Street Wolf: Street took a long breath and appeared to be steadying his nerves. "My client is charged with breaking these laws as Prosecutor Frost has alluded to, but I have evidence as well as ten Den Laws that refute the Prosecutors claims of Mogriil Wolf being unfit for our society or to lose freedom or life. These ten laws will show that his breaking of the laws was by direct order of an Alpha." Street finished with a note of stress.

Fen Stridar: "Very well, Defense. Both presentations have been voiced. What are the charges Prosecutor Frost?" Fen asked and leaned back in the booth.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost took off his mirrored sunglasses and looked at both judges with his pitch black eyes. "The accused, Mogriil Wolf, has been recorded to have violated the following laws. The first Blood Tenant that states Life is to be cherished. The second Blood Tenant that states to kill a fellow Lupe is evil. The eleventh Blood Tenant that states a Healer is never to be harmed.

Foreign Affairs Law number one that states any acts of law breaking outside of the Den shall be met with neutrality and investigation shall be swift.

General Law number thirteen that states killing another Lupe is considered a high crime. General Law number fourteen that states Punishment for killing an elder is punishable by 20 years confinement, or public lashing, or exile, or castration, or death. General Laws number fifteen that states Den Fangs are to be treated with respect. General Laws number sixteen that states Assault of a Den Fang will be punished by 1 year confinement. General Laws seventeen that states Assault of an Elder will be punished by 6 months of confinement.

Magic Laws number one that states Magic is to be respected by the user. Magic Laws number five that states Magic is never to be used in aggression unless the caster is of the Den Military. Magic Laws number eight that states that Killing with magic is the same as killing by paw or weapon. The accused will be tried by the High Judge and the penalty the same as for murder, with the inclusion of a welded collar of magic suppression that shall never be removed. Magic Laws number nine that states Use of magic to steal will be met with confinement for 1 year and suppression of magic for that year. Repeat stealing with magic shall lead to permanent suppression of magic. Magic Laws number ten that states Magic is not to be used outside of the Den unless it is deemed necessary for defense, healing, or aiding someone in need. Magic Laws number eleven that states Use of soul gems in weaponry is forbidden. Punishment will be severe and at the discretion of the High Judge.? Frost finished reciting the list of laws broken.

Fleetwolf: "You mention several have been repeatedly broken Prosecutor. For the record please state the laws of repeat offense." Fleety asked.

Frostad Shieldar: "Certainly Judge Fleetian. Blood Tenant number one has been broken four times. Blood Tenant number two has been broken twice with proof and attempted to be broken twice with proof. General Law number fourteen has been broken twice. General Laws seventeen has been broken six times. Magic Laws number five has been broken countless times as well as Magic Laws number ten." Frost said with satisfaction written on his muzzle.

Fen Stridar: "Thank you Prosecutor Frost." Fen looked to Street Wolf. "Defense, it sounds like your client has quite a list to answer for. You are sure you have a defense?"

Street Wolf: "I am new to this law system the Den has adopted, but I know my son is not a heartless criminal and would only break the laws if commanded. According...."

Fleetwolf: Fleety held up a paw to stop Street from speaking. "Defense, this meeting is to determine the severity of this case and if a high judge is required. Save your defense for the trial. Now then, according to General Laws thirteen this case shall go before the high judge as well as include on the bench the district judges for General Law, Magic, Foreign Affairs, and Life. Prosecutor Frost have you gathered a Jury yet?"

Frostad Shieldar: "I am beginning the screening process tomorrow Judge Fleetian. A jury should be selected and ready by next week."

Fen Stridar: "Very well then. We shall break for a moment for drinks and refreshments then we shall meet again for terms."

On cue the owner of the Teas'n Tomes brought into the booth the refreshments then left as quickly. Fleety picked up hir iced tea and sipped at it in thought. The prosecution had a solid case formed. Eyeing hir elder brother Street shi thought he just might get a severe beating in the court by Frost.

Street Wolf: Street grabbed the iced tea with a slight nervous tremor in his paws. He reviewed the ten laws he had compiled as possible loop holes, but some of the laws Frost had stated had him very worried for his sons life. Taking a long sip he tried a cookie. Taking a bite he wished he didn't as the cookie tasted horrible.

Fen Stridar: Fen took a quick sip of his iced tea and was soon checking hospital messages on his phone. He relaxed a bit noticing no emergencies had come in beyond his staffs capable skills.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost simply put on his mirrored shades and hummed a few bars to the theme song of CSI Miami. He didn't touch iced tea or cookies.

Fleetwolf: Ten minutes slid by and Fleety sat hir glass down. "Shall we reconvene?"

Fen Stridar: Fen nodded once. "Yes, we shall reconvene. Prosecution what is your terms for sentencing?"

Frostad Shieldar: "Minimum 40 years confinement with a being named Aramus as a personal servant, or Full extent of public lashings, exile, and castration to prevent future generations of killers from Mogriil."

Fleetwolf: "Defense what is your proposed counter terms?" Fleety asked.

Street Wolf: "Minimum 15 years confinement with the first five as personal servant to Aramus and the last ten as public service in the Wings of Foxingale Orphanage or the Whisper Paws Clinic. Or complete absolution of all charges and he walks away free." Street said.

Fleetwolf: "Very well. During the trial you may meet privately with all the judges and renegotiate the terms on grounds of new evidence." Fleety advised.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost simply smiled coldly.

Street Wolf: Street nodded to show he understood.

Fen Stridar: "The trial is to be set for next week once the Jury has been assembled. Any final notes to share gentlemen?"

Frostad Shieldar: "Justice will be served. I have no further comments." Frost spoke with self assurance.

Street Wolf: "No futher comments." Street said with a sigh.

Fleetwolf: "Very well then. This meeting is over. I shall take the reports to the Den Hall of Laws in the morning. Till then they will stay with me. Thank you for coming. May you both do well in the court of laws." Fleety stood, then opened the booth breaking the silence spell shi had put on it.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost was the first to leave. He had many plans and forms to fill at the Den Fang Head quarters. The front door of the bookstore rang as he left.

Street Wolf: Street was next to leave. He stood and gave both judges a bow. He had the look of someone who just been beaten by a group of drunk warriors and knew the next day it would happen again. The door rang as he left as well to continue further investigation and law research.

Fen Stridar: Fen was the last to step from the both. He stopped in front of Fleety for a long moment. "It's good to see you in public again Fleetian."

Fleetwolf: "Feels good not be isolated anymore, but I prefer the name Fleety now. Fleetian brings a lot of bad blood with it."

Fen Stridar: "I call them like I see them, but all right, Fleety. Hope you have a good night. I have a feeling this trial is going to be a long one."

Fleetwolf: "It could very well be a long trial. But that is something not to dwell on tonight. Safe travels to the Den, Fen."

Fen Stridar: "You as well Fleety." Fen left the bookstore.

Fleetwolf: Fleety stopped the spell on the note book and pen. Collecting the inanimate objects, shi opened a flat dimension and stored them safely away. The rest of the night was open for hir now though it was growing late.

Fleety received a letter on hir desk late yesterday from the Den Fang's HQ. It was sent by Prosecutor Frostad Shieldar. Fleety opened the letter and read it.

~Honored Judge Fleetian. An impartial jury has not yet been assembled. This is a difficult task due to the nature of Mogriils crime. I am petitioning you to have the trial delayed for two weeks while more jury candidates are screened.

Prosecutor,
Frostad Shieldar~

Fleety set the letter to the side and pulled out a piece of parchment. Shi lifted a goose quill and wrote in Lupesh glyphs a letter to Judge Fen Stridar asking him to postpone the trial and mentioned Prosecutor Shieldars situation. Sealing it with wax, shi called a messenger boy and had it delivered.

A letter was delivered to the High Judge. It was stamped and sealed with the Den Fang Prosecutors seal. The High Judge opened the letter and read the contents. Laying the letter down, he picked up a quill and wrote a letter in response. It was dried, sealed with the High Judges Seal and sent by courier boy to the Den Fan Headquarters.

A young messenger boy of Erthrii heritage knocked on the door of Frostad's office.

"Come in." Frost said with mild distraction.

The messenger boy entered and laid the letter on his desk on top of a pile of paperwork. "High Judge Cavaaroos sent it sir." The messenger then turned and left to deliver more messages.

Frost opened the letter and read the Lupesh Glyphs:

Prosecutor Frostad Shieldar,

I have read your letter and understand you have a jury assembled now for the Den V Mogriil case. You may proceed to start the trial immediately. As to your second request to have Judge Fleetian Wolf removed from the trial on grounds of hir recent incident has been considered. I agree that shi may not be mentally stable to withstand dealing with the court system for some time. I'll have hir status as Judge of Foreign Affairs put on temporary leave until shi mentally evaluated and deemed fit for passing judgment again. In the mean time, I will handle all Foreign Affairs trials.

'With steel we protect our nation, with laws we protect our people.'
High Judge Cavaaroos Shieldar

Frost laid the letter down and called in his aid. It was time to get this trial started at long last.

The Den Hall of Law was buzzing with activity today. Lupinossai of every age, race, and creed were filing into the hall. Today was the day a murdering traitor was to be tried by their own laws. Maybe justice will be served and everyone would believe they could really rely on law and not just bloodshed to settle disputes.

Frostad Shieldar: Frostad was already in the court room reviewing everything he had on Mogriil. He was wearing his usual black suit, tie, shoes, and instead of mirroed sunglasses, he had on ruby tinted sunglasses. His aid was dutifully keeping things organized.

Street Wolf: Street walked into the Den Hall of Law feeling nervous. A small spark of courage was kept glowing weakly in the pit of his belly. Today started the trial against his son, even if Mogriil was a bastard child. Street couldn't just hand him over without a fight. He didn't entirely believe his son was psychotic enough to do what he did. Walking into the court room, he took up the empty chair and table used for the Defense side of trials.

Fen Stridar: Soon, Fen Stridar arrived at the Den Hall of Law. On the steps, Tazzy Riverdancer was waiting to get any information possible for her newspaper the Den Howler. Fen just smiled a bit tiredly at Tazzy. "I see you've managed to come back safely from your stay with your parents during the recent events. You've missed quite a bit Tazzy."

Tazzy just smiled with cool effeciency. "That may be true, but I am here to get as much information as possible on the biggest story yet to hit the Den. Any comments before the trial starts, Judge Fen Stridar?" ::

Fen Stridar: "Ah, ha ha, no comments yet, Tazzy. You can wait and listen to the trial like everyone else." Fen said with ease then stepped inside the Hall and into the courtroom as well. A murmur went around that a Judge has arrived. Fen raised a paw and motioned for everyone to relax. He took his seat and waited for the High Judge to arrive.

Soon, eight jurors picked as evenly as possible from all eight great dens and from both genders walked into the courtroom and took their seats in the jury box. The crowd was beginning to settle some seeing more officials file in. They did note that two of the Judges to be present were missing. Rumor had it that both were not well and thus the trial was to fall to the High Judge Caravoos and Jude Fen instead. A few said silent prayers to Lupis and Canis that the Judges would have strength and courage to uphold justice during this trial.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost glanced over at Street. "You can still step down as his Defense attorney and spare yourself any grief."

Street Wolf: "Sod off Frost. He's my son, and a Wolf doesn't abandon another Wolf." Street said pointedly.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost held up his paws in a sign of not continuing further but he did smile ferally. Seems he would have some challenge after all.

Fen Stridar: Fen watched the prosecution and the defense. This would be interesting to see someone not skilled in law or public trials going up against the best prosecutor in the Dens history as well as the Old Country.

The Den Hall of Laws was just about packed now with more Lupinossai sitting on the steps outside of the Hall listening as best as they could. The whole Den had closed down almost except for needed services to see what happens today.

Street Wolf: Street spread out his paperwork and notes. He was sure that this was going to be the toughest fight he's had to wage in his life. He was used to shooting and slaying with lead and steel. Battling with words was new to him.

Mogriil: Mogriil sat in a Detention Cell just outside of the Courtroom with several armed guards and a Lupinossai Mage on hand to make sure he didn't escape and that no one would free him either.

Several Lupinossai arrived with serving carts laden with food and started selling to those on the steps. Inside, the crowd was growing restless. Most were wondering when the High Judge would arrive. Some gossiped that maybe he was sick too.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost simply leaned back and waited patiently. He was in his element today.

Street Wolf: Street was thankful the High Judge was not here yet giving him more time to find his courage and to make sure everything was in order.

The crowd went quiet as the doors to the High Judges chamber opened. In stepped High Judge Carravoos Shieldar. He ascended the steps and took the highest judging seat. A few whispered murmurs in the court room about Carravoos and how level headed he was. Carravoos growled once, and in the room it echoed settling the room in silence again.

"I am High Judge Carravoos, and this is Judge of Life Fen Stridar. We are both servants of the law and will preside the case of the Den versus Mogriil. Prosecutor Frostad Shieldar, your opening statement?"

Frostad Shieldar: Frost stood and walked past the table and stood before the two Judges. "High Judge Carravoos and Judge of Life Fen, I come before you, and the jury to bring to justice a Lupinossai that has murdered not once, but twice in the Den and has tried to murder more Lupinossai but was thwarted. This Lupinossai is also a traitor targeting the elders of our prior Den Council and even shot our Den Alpha Vuusoolta Wolf. Today, your honors, I wish to see justice served against Mogriil Wolf." Frost then stepped back from the Judges and returned to his seat.

Fen Stridar: Fen looked to Carravoos and receiving a nod, spoke. "Well said, Prosecutor Frost. Defense your opening statement please."

Street Wolf: Street stood up but wasn't sure if he should approach the judges or not. Thus he remained behind the Defense table. "Ye honors of high judging an' laws, I be here to keep me lad from being wrongly punished for crimes his higher ups ordered him to do."

The room was quiet for a span of a few breaths. "Is that the extent of your statement Defense Street?"

Street Wolf: "Yes, yer honor. I be no fancy law warrior like yon Frost, but I speak straight fer the heart of the matter." Street replied in his Irish/Russian accent. He sat down to indicate he was done.

Fen Stridar: Fen hid a small grin at the directness Street was using. "I believe that will be adequate enough High Judge Carravoos."

"Indeed. Prosecution you may begin."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost stood once again and walked forward, then paced lightly around the inside of the inner court ring. "All of us know from the time we are whelped to the day we die that to kill a fellow Lupinossai is evil less it is war time and the Lupinossai killed was trying to kill you. Yet, the accused today has managed to kill two Elders of the Den Council and then tried to kill Councilor Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor. He even managed to shoot Den Alpha Vuusoolta Wolf. If it were not for the good health of the Den Alpha, he too would have been murdered. One has to wonder what would drive a Lupinossai to turn on his people and start killing them during a time of peace. I say this Lupinossai is a rogue wolf. A person who holds nothing dear and will even use magic like the Spiritors of old to kill and control us."

Street Wolf: "Objection! How dare ye say me lad is like a Spiritor of the old country! What proof do ye have that he be magical using?" Street barked out in anger.

"Objection sustained. Prosecution Frost, please show us some evidence that Mogriil is indeed a mage. Defense Street, please keep your temper under control."

Street Wolf: Street nodded stiffly once and just watched Frost with intense anger.

Frostad Shieldar: "Of course your honor. I submit to you eye witness statements, Exhibit 1, that all state seeing Mogriil cast a giant Fire Ball at the Whisper Paws Clinic that did burn down the night before Vuusoolta Wolf was shot. Exhibit 2 is a statement from the local Mage Guild of the Den that the fire was initially caused by a blast of Magical Induced Fire that then consumed other combustibles." Frost handed a copy of the statements to both High Judge Carravoos and Judge Fen.

The High Judge took the offered evidence and reviewed the statements.

Fen Stridar: Fen did likewise. He read the report from the Mage Guild about the hospital fire and repressed the memories of the building going up in flames. "High Judge, I can safely say that the Whisper Paws Clinic was attacked by magic that night." Fen said firmly.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost stood and waited for the approval to continue his case.

Iimiidiina: Iimii teleports, quietly, into the Hall of Law, right next to the door. He came in his traditional Maasi'imi'i, with his muzzle to show his neutrality, along with control his power in this sacred place. He sits down on a chair amongst the audience and watches the proceedings, gleaning from the audience around him what has happened so far.

High Judge Carravoos laid the statements down. "Very well. You have provided evidence that magic was used against the clinic and a few eye witnesses to him casting a fire ball. Do you have proof though that Mogriil can cast magic though?"

The crowd murmured a bit hearing the Judges. 'How else can a Lupinossai make a Fire Ball without casting magic?' was the gist of the murmurs.

Fen Stridar: Fen gave a short growl that echoed in the Hall settling the crowd. "Yes, I would like to see proof that Mogriil can cast magic, Prosecutor Frost."

Iimiidiina: Iimii blinks. He, of all people, should know there are a variety of ways to create fire. Manipulation, for one. Transmutation. Along with the various tools the humans have created to make fire from fuel and gas. The pup stays silent.

Frostad Shieldar: "Very well your honor. We do have a Lupinossai Mage with the guards holding Mogriil just outside this room. We can have the Mage test him for magical activity."

"Arrange that at once." Carravoos spoke to a guard in the room. The guard left. "In the meantime, Defense Street, do you have anything to say in regards to this evidence so far?"

Street Wolf: Street stood, and actually grinned showing all teeth. "Indeed yer high honor." he turned to the crowd. "Let it be known that only one Wolf was ever able to do magic and pass it on teh his wee pups. That Wolf is Fleetian Wolf. Both of his remaining lad and lassy are here in this Den. I fer one canna cast magic and Mogriil is me lad. His mum was a simple Erthrii peasant. No magic in her either."

Murmurs grew louder now as the crowd seemed to agree with Street on the point that outside of Soultre's and Spiritors, most Lupinossai can't do magic.

Iimiidiina: This was actually somewhat interesting to the pup. He looks around, but doesn't join into the quiet ruckus. He simply looks the Defense up and down, then shakes his head.

Frostad Shieldar: "Maybe the peasant you mated with lied to you." Frost said simply as he paced. "Who is not to say that this magic gene that Fleetian Wolf, Judge of Foreign affairs isn't in your son as well? I believe the court will find records stating that magic potential in the Wolf blood line skips a generation or two."

Fen Stridar: "Indeed. The medical records from the Great Den of Wolf will agree with you Prosecution Frost. However, a genetic sample can be taken and compared with Judge Fleetians DNA to see if said magic DNA exists in Mogriil."

The guard returned soon and handed a sealed scroll to the High Judge, then took up his station at the door.

Judge Carravoos opened the scroll and read it, then handed it to Fen.

Iimiidiina: Iimii leans over, trying to see what the scroll read. But he couldn't see anything.

Fen Stridar: Fen read it then closed the scroll and sat it down with his copy of the evidence. "According to one Thesuus Sluul, Magic Guild of the Den, Mogriil has no magical aptitude for casting magic but does suggest that given the accessed body condition that something may have been used to cast the magic instead."

Street Wolf: Street then looked to Frost with a smile. "Yes. Do you have proof of what cast the magic?"

Frostad Shieldar: "Why yes, to a certain extent. Exhibit 3, statements again from eyewitnesses at the Den during the burning of the clinic as well as statements from those who knew Mogriil including Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor. All witnesses state that accused wore special armor and had a dragon lance. Both were reported to absorb any magic used on Mogriil and allow him to recast the magic used on him. As well as Exhibit 4A," he held up a large clear bag of charred leather. "and Exhibit 4B." a bag of metallic ash was held up as well for all to see.

Street Wolf: "You expect us teh believe that charred mess of ashes is any proof?" Street asked in disbelief.

Iimiidiina: "Yes," the boy blurts out, if a little quietly, thanks to the muzzle.

Frostad Shieldar: "Exhibit 4C is written confirmation from the Magic Guild of the Den that these two items are indeed the remains of the magical armor and lance Mogriil used to cast magic and kill the Elders with."

The crowd murmured again, quietly this time about the items held. They didn't look magical. Just burnt and powdery.

Iimiidiina: Iimii, however, knew the truth.

High Judge Carravoos leaned forward to look at the bags held up, then at the certification. "To be frank and honest Prosecution Frost, with our Judge of Magic unable to attend, how can I know this evidence is legitimately magical? A certification is only valued with an in court test of said items."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost didn't smile, but simply looked to Judge Fen Stridar. "Judge Fen Stridar is well known for casting magic, being once the holder of the title Ebony Knight of Lupinoss, The Dark One. I am sure his honor can easily tell if they are magical or not."

Fen Stridar: Fen looked a bit tired hearing the use of that title in the courtroom. So far he managed to keep Fleety's attacker out of any records so far. He looked to the items. "I can do a magical verification of the items, High Judge Carravoos if you wish."

"Yes. By all means. Prosecution hand the items to Judge Fen."

People murmured again hearing about the Dark One being mentioned. Some remembered him well form the Old Country. More than a few of the Lupes in the court room felt that Fen Stridar should be on the hanging block as well. A few murmurs came up as well that any magic user was dangerous and should be put down.

Iimiidiina: The Looa growls to himself at the murmurs against magic users. He stares around him, but this was no place to get angry now. So, he plunges into himself.

Fen Stridar: Fen accepted the items. He didn't have to cast a spell at all. The touch alone told him both items still resonated with fading malevolence. A malevolence that was intelligent. Fen sat the items down and read his copy of Exhibit 4C. He noted the certification simply said the ruined items were once magical. Fen laid the copy down. "May I ask both prosecution and defense to please step forward so I may address my finding to them and the High Judge."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost stepped up to the Judging seats with coolness.

Street Wolf: Street hesitantly left the table and took up the empty position opposite of Frost.

Carravoos lifted a furred eyebrow at this calling for close council. "What is the meaning of this Judge Fen?" he whispered.

Iimiidiina: Iimii furrows his brow in confusion as well.

Fen Stridar: Fen whispered as well. "I wanted to be sure both sides have ample time to adjust to what I found. The remains are indeed magical, but a malevolent sentience is within the remains." he whispered so nothing went beyond the four.

Frostad Shieldar: "Sentient Magic?" Frost asked in a low tone.

Street Wolf: "Aye. Sentient Magic. Same stuff dem Spiritors used to make the walking suits of armor back in the wars. So ye saying me lad didn't cast the magic freely?" Street asked in a whisper.

Fen Stridar: Fen looked to High Judge Carravoos who just looked back at him. "Maybe. The condition of the items are beyond further testing for the will of the sentient magic. Mogriil may have cast the spells with intent, or he may have been a hostage. We cannot verify that fact. What I can guarantee is that Mogriil had the ability to use magic spells of a military nature." he whispered again.

"I agree. You may return to your tables." High Judge Carravasoov stated clearly for all to hear. He gave Judge Fen a look of uncertainty.

Fen Stridar: Fen gave him a look of trust.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost returned to the center of the inner courtroom ring, pacing again, putting things into place within his mind.

Street Wolf: Street returned to the Defense table and looked crestfallen.

"The jury is to accept Exhibits 4A, 4B, and 4C as proof of the magical armor and weapons owned by Mogriil." Carravoos said clearly. "Prosecution, continue."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost looked up for a moment and nodded. "Very well. Mogriil has the capacity for using magic and eyewitnesses state he used magic squarely placing him at fault for breaking several magical laws for the abuse of magic as well as the murders."

Street Wolf: "I object." Street said, holding his head in his paws. "All I have heard is eye witness yammering about my lad. When canna we hear from a livin' person and not some paper?"

Fen Stridar: "Objection sustained. Prosecutor, you may call your first witness."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost nodded once, not losing his air of confidence. He looked into the crowd. "I call to the stand Iimiidiina Foxingale-Walley."

Street Wolf: Street looked up and to the crowd to see who Iimiidiina was.

Iimiidiina: The boy adolescent perks his head. His time to shine. He flops down, smoothing out his sash so he can at least look presentable, from the chair before heading up to the stand.

Murmurs erupted again from the crowd. Putting a child on the stand? He was there I think? Is he trustworthy as a magic user? The crowd murmured these questions.

Fen Stridar: Fen growled again to quiet the crowd. Growling seemed to be more effective than a gavel.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost simply nodded to Iimiidiina.

Iimiidiina: The child removes his muzzle as he steps up to the stand so he can be heard clearly enough by the record keeper.

JM: The guard left his position and stood before Iimiidiina. "Iimiidiina Foxingale-Walley. Taking the stand, you are sworn to truth upon penalty of punishment for any lying. Do you understand?"

Iimiidiina: The boy responds with an air of authority, though humble. Not arrogant. He was becoming confidant in his standing. "I do."

"May Lupis spare your soul should you break this oath." the guard stepped back and to his position. Carravoos looked down at Iimiidiina. "Answer all questions as accurately and concisely as possible."

Iimiidiina: He sits down at the stand. "I will do so to the best of my ability, sir."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost approached Iimiidiina like a wolf stalking prey. He stopped 3 feet away from the youth and put his paws behind his back. "Iimiidiina, are you a magic user?"

Iimiidiina: "Yes, sir."

Frostad Shieldar: "What type of magic do you use?"

Street Wolf: Street sat back and listened wondering what Frost was getting at.

Iimiidiina: "Well, I am most adept with Fire Elementalism, Healing magic, teleportation, and psionics. At this point in my training. I can also see and track auras."

Frostad Shieldar: "So you can tell when you see someone cast magic, yes?"

Iimiidiina: "Yes, sir. It's very easy. All magic relies on energy to be cast. I can tell when this energy is used."

Frostad Shieldar: "Good. Iimiidiina, can you tell us about when you first met Mogriil?"

Iimiidiina: "The first time I met him? It was the night he attacked the Den."

Frostad Shieldar: "The night he attacked the Den." he looked to the crowd. "And how did he attack the Den?"

Iimiidiina: "Well, I'm not sure about that. I encountered him as I was running away from the Hospital and Orphanage, which were set on fire with Fen inside. He had a set of armor. I couldn't see his aura at the time, but I could -feel- the malice that came from it. He also had a lance of some sort, which I saw in the Alphas lair briefly when he was teaching me, just after my powers were uncovered. I shouted at him, but he threw the magic back at me. He would have killed me if Dad had not come."

Frostad Shieldar: "So Mogriil attacked you, a student of healing with magic?"

A few gasps in the crowd and a few growls as well. Attacking a healer was unforgiveable.

Fen Stridar: Fen growled again to quiet the crowd.

Iimiidiina: "He didn't make magic himself. I tried to push him away with my voice. But he... he caught it... with the lance. And he threw it back at me. I landed on my back, and he lifted me up and was about to kill me. But Dad came with a gun, and he shot at Mogriil. But Mogriil dodged it and threw me into a wall. He turned on Dad, but he was driven away by Fiim with her water magic."

Frostad Shieldar: "I see. So he went after your father as well. Have you met Mogriil any other time?"

Iimiidiina: "Yes. Twice."

Frostad Shieldar: "Did he attack you those times as well?"

Iimiidiina: "The first time was when he was captured in Rhy'Din. Aramus incapacitated him and destroyed the armor and lance. That's why they are just ash now," he says as he points at the bags that he assumes are back on the judges table. "The second time, he was with Aramus. We did fight that time, but there were hard feelings between the both of us. The night he attacked the Den is the only time that he threatened my life with hostility."

Frostad Shieldar: "I see. No further questions your honors." Frostad returned to his table.

"Defense, you may cross examine the witness now."

Street Wolf: Street stood up and walked forward with as much confidence as he could muster. Something in Iimii's testimonies gave him a glimmer of hope. "Iimiidiina. The first time you met me lad, you said you could feel malice coming off of him. Do you think that is normal for a magic user?"

Iimiidiina: "Everybody can fall to evil, sir. The question at paw here is whether that evil is enchantment or person, and what the evil-doer does to either... control the evil, or use it."

Frostad Shieldar: "Objection. The youth is still studying and hardly an expert on magic." Frost barked.

"Over ruled. The statement made is common to all youths in schooling."

Street Wolf: Street simply nodded. "Okay, then, so me lad may possibly not been mad himself then?"

A slight murmur in the crowd.

Iimiidiina: "The second time I encountered Mogriil, it was very clear to me that the armor was holding him against his will. He pleaded, literally, to Aramus to free him. I don't know whether or not he regrets what happened the night the Den burned. All I know is that he did not want to do that again. He wanted out."

Street Wolf: "Ah. Ye see, me lad was not casting magic with intent." Street stated loudly. "But I must wonder though, about the first time you met him, he didn't attack you. As you said ye self 'He didn't make magic himself. I tried to push him away with my voice. But he... he caught it... with the lance. And he threw it back at me. I landed on my back, and he lifted me up and was about to kill me.' So you attacked first."

Iimiidiina: "I had to. He told me he was going to kill me."

Carravoos looked down at Iimiidiina. "It appears you omitted that line from your testimony."

Frostad Shieldar: "I call for him to be allowed to amend his testimony your honors." Frost spoke.

Street Wolf: "I object to that ye honors. Clearly teh boy ommitted the words for fear of being punished for using magic as a minor to attack someone." Street countered.

"Hmm."

Fen Stridar: Fen looked to the High Judge.

Carravoos leaned in towards Fen.

Iimiidiina: "If my word means anything..." Iimii paused, in case he was silenced.

Fen Stridar: Fen leaned in as well. "Defense has a point. The lad is a minor, but..."

"But?"

Iimiidiina: Not acknowledged. About the same. He falls silent.

Fen Stridar: "The Den was under attack, therefore putting all Lupinossai able to defend themselves into the right to defend themselves including a preemptive strike."

Carravoos nodded once. "Prosecution has the right of way. The statement and argument regarding the omitted statement shall be disregarded and the statement shall be added to the testimony. Iimiidiina, be sure not to leave out anything else."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost simply grinned knowing what Judge Fen would say.

Iimiidiina: "Yes, sir. I do apologize. I didn't mean to forget."

Street Wolf: Street took a deep breath and composed himself. "Very well, ye protected yerself. You mention this Aramus fellow that caught me lad. You say as well that when caught, me lad was not wanting to act violent as well? Did he continue to act violent while protesting?"

Iimiidiina: "No, sir. Mogriil was pleading for release. It was like the armor wasn't letting him leave. His movements were all blocky and stuff. It was like he moved like a robot."

Murmurs erupted at that statement. Didn't Spiritors do that with items during the war? Have they come back to rule us all?

Fen Stridar: "Quiet." he spoke to the crowd.

Street Wolf: "I see. Would this Aramus fellow be able to back up everything you say about me lad not wanting to do harm?"

Iimiidiina: "Yes, sir. Though not as pointedly as me. Aramus has always been strange." He giggles a little.

Street Wolf: "I see. Did you see who set the Clinic on fire?"

Iimiidiina: "No, sir. All I saw, for a brief moment, was a giant fireball coming at the Hospital through the window of the Orphanage."

Street Wolf: Street looked to the crowd and jury. "The eyewitness didn't see Mogriil attack the Den. Just an attack on him and his father. I am done ye honors." Street walked back to his table and sat.

"Very well. Iimiidiina, you may step down now."

Fen Stridar: "Prosecution do you have more witnesses?"

Iimiidiina: Iimii looked up at the judge, then bows to him respectfully, followed by the pair of attorneys, before making his way back to the audience, strapping on his muzzle again.

Dragonlover: Verbosk was standing guard outside the Hall of Laws.

Frostad Shieldar: "I have a few, though only two are present today."

More murmurs... could this be a trial that went for a few days?

Frostad Shieldar: "I wish to call to the stand Aramus Con Jackus."

Iimiidiina: Iimii looks at Frostad, then sneaks into his mind a couple of words of advice. ~The draconian in charge of the investigation of Councilor Ferrousbane in Rhy'Din is standing guard outside. He could be useful.~

Iimiidiina: It would be as though it was just a back thought. Iimii's touch is so light.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost seemed to shake his head a moment.

Iimiidiina: Iimii continued to watch the proceedings silently.

Fen Stridar: Fen looked about. "Well, Frost, where is this witness?"

Frostad Shieldar: "He'll be here." he said simply.

Aramus Con Jackuss: Aramus appeared at the stand. "Did someone mention my name?" The being spoke in a odd echoing voice. It was in its common, yet unusual, form when it appeared in the room.

A gasp around the room as Aramus just appeared.

Fen Stridar: "Are you Aramus Con Jackus?"

Iimiidiina: Iimii just grinned behind his muzzle.

Aramus Con Jackuss: "Who else did <I>you</I> expect?" The being replied with a strange inflection from its emitted voice. It snickered and bowed to Fen. "Aramus Con Jackuss at your presence!"

Fen Stridar: "Very well then. As a being of the supernatural are you willing to give a truthful testimony to aid in the decisions of the jury for this case?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: The being put a hand over where a heart would be if it were human and the left glove-hand raised in the air. "Of course, <I>I</I> , Aramus Con Jackuss, <I>will</I> give a truthful testimoney to aid the jury."

"Proceed Prosecution."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost wasn't fazed one bit by Aramus' arrival. "Aramus, are you the current warden of Mogriil?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: "Indeed I am, sir!" it says as if enthusiastic.

Frostad Shieldar: "You also were the one who captured him. Did attack you when he met you?"

Street Wolf: "Objection! Prosecution is leading the witness."

"Sustained. Prosecution rephrase the question."

Frostad Shieldar: "Did he attack you, Aramus?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: Aramus chuckled at the objection and such going on in the court. It nodded to Frostad with the reply, "Yes, he attempted to attack me."

Frostad Shieldar: "How did he attack you?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: "He lunged the lance at me over and over." It stated the fact.

Frostad Shieldar: "So he simply attacked you with his weapon. Was any magic involved?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: Aramus was quiet only for a second as it looked back at that event. "Indeed the furry Mogriil did. He tried to attack me with lightning and I absorbed it."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost nodded once. "Does Mogriil strike you as a violent individual?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: "That depends in which situation you speak of." Aramus replied.

Frostad Shieldar: "Do you think he is a danger to others?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: "With or without the armor I should have said....With the armor he seemed like a rabid wild animal. Without he has been calm. May I mention he had helped save a young girl?" The right glowing M on its head raised as if raising a brow. "Saved her without the armor that is."

Street Wolf: Street, who at this point was listening and looking at his notes hopelessly sat up a bit hearing Aramus.

Frostad Shieldar: "Ah. So you are saying the armor drove him insane and that the rescue of one life excuses the deaths of many lives?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: "Being posessed is what drove him to kill. Being himself is what drove him to save. He saved the girl after his lance and armored screamed and died a withering and burning death."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost nodded once more. This witness was definitely going to be in favor of Streets questioning. He could push no further. "No further questions your honor." he returned to his seat.

Fen Stridar: "Defense may cross examine the witness now."

Iimiidiina: Iimii leans forward watching the proceedings.

Street Wolf: Street approached Aramus with the look of pure hope now. "Aramus, you say me lad without those infernal magical items was quite sane and rescued someone?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: "Without the items? Yes, he in fact did rescued someone. I threw him a sword and told him to catch. Quite dangerous one might say for a former-killer, but he saved the complete stranger. A little strange girl of odd magics of even my taste!"

Street Wolf: "Me lad saved a magic user, with the aid of another magic user, even though he was known to be a killer of mages." he said simply to all in the room. "Do you think the items possessed him?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: "I could sense it. He struggled against those items. He begged for help and then...well, I simply helped him."

Street Wolf: Street grinned right at Frost. "No further questions your honor."

A lot of murmurs rose now. Was the traitor really innocent?

"Do you wish to bring in your next witness Frost?"

Frostad Shieldar: "Not today. I believe we have sorted out the magical charges for now. I wish to ask for a continuance to discuss the attempted murder of Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor, Vuusoolta Wolf, and the non-magical murders of the two Den Elders."

Carravoos nodded. "Very well. We shall end the session for today and reconvene within a week." The high judge stood and left through the door to his chambers.

Mogriil: Mogriil was kept in the cell, though the guards were lessened in numbers and he got a good hot meal.

Fen Stridar: "Aramus, you are now free to leave the stand. And thank you for assisting the Lupinossain in this matter."

Aramus Con Jackuss: "Of course, <I>furry friends!"</I> Aramus chuckled and supposedly disappears.

Frostad Shieldar: "I must say for someone unversed in law, you did well." Frost commented to Street before he and his aid left.

Street Wolf: Street seemed to relax a bit and left the courtroom and hall.

Fen Stridar: Fen stood and watched the crowds leave. He nodded to himself. The law was being used, and justice was being served. He left.

Date: 2011-03-27 14:40 EST
Evening time, Monday the 21st, the Den was alight with street lamps, candles, and bonfires. The Den Hall of Laws was ablaze with light tonight. The trial of the Den vs. Mogriil was continuing on. Why at night though, many of the Lupinossai wondered. It seemed odd, though many suspected it had to do with daylight attacks recently on the Den Fangs. The crowd tonight wasn't as packed as the first part of the trial. Den Fang's were blocking all entry ways checking all ID's and turning any away without ID cards.

Mirius Pojoris: Mirius walked up to the den feeling a bit curious about what dwelled within it more. She was in her dark blue jeans and jean jacket casually approaching the Den. She had no weapons at all on her and certainly with Ammy's help that the evidence for her gun would now be invalid. Of course, she didn't forget the ID card and had it safely in a pocket. All Mirius did was grin once she walked up to The Den gate.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost entered the Den Hall of Laws from one of the less clogged side entrances, flashing his DFLEA badge to the Den Fangs on duty. They waved him and his assistant on into the Hall.

Dragonlover: Verbosk himself was standing at the Hall of Laws. He nods at the lawyer and maintains guard duty with watchful grey eyes.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost took up his seat at the prosecution table. He had had a full 3 weeks now to find every way to bury both Street and his bastard son deep in the laws of the Den.

Mirius Pojoris: Mirius simply had access to the den with that new ID card Ammy had given her. Such fantastic use it had. Slowly she walked the streets of the Den, her eyes looking around warily and curiously. Searching for anything of interest.

Street Wolf: Street arrived on his motorcycle, the wine of the TIE engine dying as he stopped. Dismounting the motorcycle he shoved others out of his way walking right up to the main entrance of the Hall. The Den Fangs stepped forward to stop him and check ID but faltered when Street skewered them with a Red and Brown eye that promised pain if they stopped him. The Den Fangs felt that a visual ID of Street was enough and let him through. "Rookies." he growled and took up his table on the Defense side.

Dragonlover: Verbosk growled after Street, if only for his rudeness.

Mogriil: Mogriil was sitting in the holding cell in a room to the left of the Den Hall of Laws, being a good prisoner and seeming to be in meditation. Must have been something he picked up from Aramus.

Mirius Pojoris: She wasn't too far off from that scene, watching the shoving and hearing the growls. Something was going on and it perked an interest. "Hmm," she said softly to herself. Mirius saw Verbosk, though, and rembered him being with Myrlene. Would be a rather pain to cross his path to see what was goin on in there.

The crowds were starting to settle some now inside the hall. Half the amount as last time and twice the security now. Lene had did a fine job reassigning shift and improving Den Security. A few people whispered about local news, weather, and the recent shootings.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost just watched Street like a predator. Last time the Lupe got lucky against Frost. Not tonight.

Street Wolf: Street ignored Frost completely. His eyes were focused on the empty seats the judges would occupy.

Mirius Pojoris: And she kept on walking, wondering if there was another entrance to avoid that draconian. Mirius was very wary about him. She very casually walked around the Hall of Laws with her paws in pockets of her jeans. But what was this? A side entrance. She walked up to the guards at the entrance. Mirius even pulled out her ID having a good feeling they were going to want to see it. That was nothing new to her being from a war torn military world.

Fen Stridar: A door in the rear of the courtroom opened and Fen stepped inside and moved to one of the three Jurisdiction Judging seats. A casual glance across the Hall and a small nod to himself. He hoped this trial will end today. Street was not looking so well these days and keeping to himself alot.

The Den Fangs at the side entry stopped Mirius and asked for the ID Card.

Dragonlover: The draconian does, indeed, spot Mirius. He speaks into the radio at a whisper. "Female, Lupinossai. Rounding the corner. Please secure the perimeter."

Mirius Pojoris: She held out the ID card and handed it over t othe guards with a grin. "Here ye go."

The Den Fangs hear the radio chatter a moment. The pause checking the ID Card then radioed Lene as their acting Lieutenant tonight. Soon they got an all clear from her. They let Mirius in. "Lupe suspect has full clearance from Ammy Spiritor and confirmed by Lieutenant Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor." they radioed in and went back to their posts. It wasn't like Mirius was going to be out of view with twice as many Den Fangs in the Hall.

Dragonlover: "Copy that. Just to confirm, where does that side door lead?"

N.P.C.: The crowd was getting a bit bored now when the Jury filled in and took their seats. The High Judge soon appeared from the rear entrance and took his seat above and behind Fen.

"Side Entrance is a one way to the courtroom." one of the Den Fang's responded.

Fen Stridar: Fen bowed his head politely to the High Judge. It was time to start.

Mirius Pojoris: She stuffed her ID card into her jeans and simply walked in. This was pretty easy all thanks to Ammy. Good thing she didn't come in her military uniform and weapons. She mooved into the courtroom and looked around just for a second or two. Once she was done observing she took a seat in the back of the courtroom to observe what issue was at paw.

Dragonlover: "Copy that. Thanks." Verbosk continues his watch without further vocal interruption.

A Den Fang approached the Judging Dias then turned and spoke to the crowd. "Bring respect to those who measure the law. Now is the time for silence. Lend your ears to what is said. The Case of the Den vs. Mogriil will now resume." the Den Fang left the dias and resumed his previous post near the Jury box.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost grinned, ready for the renewed fight.

Street Wolf: Street just stared at the Judges.

Mirius Pojoris: Silence. Well, it wasn't like she had something to say anyways. Mirius sat there with her arms crossed, watching and listening carefully. Perhaps, she could find out more about what was going on in this Den of the Lupinossai. Maybe find some flaws to thrive off of.

Fen Stridar: "Evening to you all. We shall now begin the continuance of this trial. To refresh the Jury and our listeners, our first session has determined that Mogriil has been found capable of using magic, as well as casting offensive magic outside of war time. Any reports of him directly attacking Lupinossai with magic are not clear. Tonight we will conclude this trial by viewing the allegations of Mogriil murdering two Den Council Elders as well as the attempted murder of Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor and Vuusoolta Wolf. Prosecution, you have the stand."

The crowd went silent as they watched and listened.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost stood and approached the witnessing dias and stood in front of it facing the Jury. "Tonight we put aside the magical mystical part of this lowlife Lupinossai that I'd would rank with the Spiritors in vileness."

Mirius Pojoris: Well, that was a tick in her mind. Good thing she didn't have a gun on her.....

Street Wolf: "Objection your honors! He is generalizing a bias against all Spiritors when we have many in our Den who are law abiding good citzens."

"Sustained. Prosecutor Frost, do not incite a riot in my courtroom or you will find yourself in a cell next to Mogriil. Understood?"

Frostad Shieldar: "Yes, High Judge Caravoos. As I was saying we will be looking at the more mundane aspects of this killer." he walked back to his table and lifted a file folder. "I hold in my paw two confirmed accounts that Mogriil killed the two elders in question." he walked up and submitted them to Caravoos and Fen.

Fen Stridar: Fen looked over the copies for a moment or two then looked to High Judge Caravoos. A raise of a furred brow was all Fen needed.

"Prosecutor Frost. These reports assume that the killer was Mogriil. Only one states proof of wounds possibly matching Mogriils lance. You also mention a witness and evidence not submitted to the court that backs these reports up. Where is the witness and the evidence?"

Frostad Shieldar: Frost grinned showing all teeth. "Yes. Indeed. I call forth Verbosk to the witness stand."

Street Wolf: Watched and listened. Two techniques so far that let him get the best of Frost.

Mirius Pojoris: She crossed one leg over the other as she sat there quietly, slighly leaning forward interested in wanting to know more of what was going on. This night looked like it was truly going to be of juicy information.

The crowd looked around hoping to see who Verbosk was.

Dragonlover: Verbosk, of course, was standing outside the main entrance. On guard duty.

The Den Fang that had given the opening ceremonial speech radioed in. "Send Verbosk in. He has been called in as a witness."

Dragonlover: Verbosk brings the radio to his mouth. "Roger that. Headin' in." He first confirms the replacement, then heads inside. It doesn't take him long to enter the court room.

Fen Stridar: Fen sat watching. This should be interesting. "Please approach the witness dias and stand in the center."

Dragonlover: Verbosk does so.

Fen Stridar: "Verbosk. You are under the oath of this Den Hall of Laws as well as bound by the oath of a Den Fang to answer truthfully to all question asked under penalty of the wrath of Lupis. Do you understand?"

Dragonlover: "I do."

Fen Stridar: "Proceed Prosecution." Fen leaned back.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost nodded with ease and picked up another copy of the file folder. He handed it to Verbosk. "Verbosk, take a look at these repots on the two murdered councilmen. I believe you were a member of the Rhydin City's Watch investigating the first murder. Am I correct?"

Dragonlover: "Yes, sir." Verbosk opens the file and looks over them.

Frostad Shieldar: "Tell me Verbosk. Who do you think commited the first murder based on your investigations?"

Dragonlover: "Well, initially, our primary suspect was Myrlene. A lightsaber was found on the body, but her alibi matched with other witnesses."

Frostad Shieldar: "A lightsaber you say. A weapon hard to use by many correct?"

Dragonlover: "Yes, sir. We originally operating under the assumption that since a lightsaber was the murder weapon, for the marks on the victims body matched those of a lightsaber wound, deep burns and all, that only a Force user could have done it. Myrlene possessed a saber of the same hilt, but claimed she lost it, if my memory serves me right."

Frostad Shieldar: "I see. Then how did you discover who really used the lightsaber to kill the councilor?"

Street Wolf: Street kept listening. He knew his chance was buried in this testimony somewhere.

Dragonlover: "Like I said, we first investigated her alibi, which was that she left the Red Dragon, which is where the murder took place, before the murder time narrowed down by forensics. Her witnesses confirmed the alibi, and so we investigated further into her missing lightsaber."

The crowd was murmuring slightly. "Always knew that Myrlene was a shady girl." "Wasn't natural how fast she grew up." "Demon spawn of a Wolf and Spiritor mating."

Frostad Shieldar: "I see. Did you find the missing lightsaber?"

Mirius Pojoris: The murmuring. The beliefs. The behaviors of the people in this Den. All was to be taken and thought out. To find out how the peoples' mind worked in the Den was important. Especially, to find flaws. To find any hatreds and issues within.

Dragonlover: "Yes, sir. The missing lightsaber was the murder weapon."

Frostad Shieldar: "Where did you find the lightsaber?"

Dragonlover: "Well, it was planted on the body. We believe it was an attempt to frame the honorable Leftenant."

Street Wolf: He wasn't liking the rumors he was hearing about his niece.

Frostad Shieldar: "So at the time you didn't know who used the lightsaber then. When did you find the perpertrator and what lead you to accusing Mogriil?"

Fen Stridar: So far nothing surprising about the testimony wasn't covered in the report. What was Frost getting at here?

The crowd was curious to hear how Mogriil was accused.

Dragonlover: "Well, we were running around in a lot of circles, because now we had no suspect after Lene was cleared. The break in the case came when Lene alleged that she had a bodyguard who knew how to use a lightsaber safely. She also admitted that he was a lover. That is how we narrowed it down to Mogriil."

Frostad Shieldar: "There you have it. Mogriil knew how to use a light saber and as we all saw during the first court session, Mogriil had a lance that matched the injuries you found on the second body, correct?"

Street Wolf: "Objection! Leading the witness your honors."

"Rephrase the question Prosecutor Frost." Caravoos stated clearly.

Frostad Shieldar: "Very well." he nodded once. Frost looked at Verbosk. "With your knowledge of what Lene alleged about Mogriil, did the second murder match up with your suspicion and evidence at paw?"

A few murmurs in the crowd. "That Frost is a tricky one." "Did you hear he used to be in hearings when the Great Dens still ruled the Old Country?" "Would hate to be against him."

Dragonlover: "Yes, sir. The second murder occurred while Lene was under arrest. This drew my attention to Mogriil, and I investigated further into his dealings."

Frostad Shieldar: "And did you arrest Mogriil?"

Iimiidiina: Iimii quietly enters the Hall and sits at the back.

Mirius Pojoris: Mirius looked over seeing that little boy enter and sit down in the back, too. Oh what a joy. She smirked at him and slowly put her attention back to what was going on.

Dragonlover: "Yes, sir. I brought my Bromissk, Alphrans Vuusoolta, along for the interview to keep an eye on him, knowing the alphas magical heritage. With his assistance, we discovered the truth. Mogriil ran from the scene, and he was... unaccounted for. The next time I saw him, he had killed Alphrans Vuusoolta with an assassins bullet. Or, at least, temporarily killed him."

That brought a gasp to the crowd. "How did he escape with the Den Alphrans there?" the whispers spread like wildfire.

Fen Stridar: Fen growled loudly, quieting the crowd.

Dragonlover: Verbosk flushes. He didn't want to rat out his Bromissk, even subtlely or indirectly, like that.

Street Wolf: Street's eyes narrowed as if he smelled blood. Aha!

Dragonlover: Verbosk had to be clever now.

Frostad Shieldar: "I see. You know for certain it was Mogriil who shot Vuusoolta Wolf in front of the gathered crowds?"

Iimiidiina: Even Iimii was shocked at this particular piece of information.

Dragonlover: Verbosk thinks carefully about how to phrase this...

Fen Stridar: Fen was intrigued now.

N.P.C.: The crowd was on the edge of their seats close to lynching Mogriil.

Dragonlover: "Mogriil... was unaccounted for. He had skillfully escaped my grasp, whether by magic or skill, I don't know. But it was clear that he had a hatred against the Den and its leaders, for if he was innocent of those murders, why run?"

Mirius Pojoris: Something gave her a hint in that. The Alphrans was there and the killer escaped? Then again, even she, herself, has gotten out of tough situations, but it wasn't something to let go lightly. She continued to listen as she slowly slid towards Iimiidiina.

Iimiidiina: Iimii already had wards set up around him. There was no getting even across the isle for Mirius.

Frostad Shieldar: "I am sure all here would feel that is a general assessment of 'Why run when nothing is wrong'. I am puzzled as it states you did capture Mogriil yet it revolves around a near fatal stabbing of the now Lieutenant Myrlene. Am I correct?"

Dragonlover: "With all due respect, sir, it was not I who captured Mogriil, for I was incapacitated from the war against Lord Travanix and his foul legion at the time of his arrest."

Frostad Shieldar: "Then who captured him?"

Mirius Pojoris: Something was keeping her from getting closer, so she sat there. All she wanted to do was talk. She simply shrugged it off and sat there listening intently.

Dragonlover: "I am not sure. Based on what I hear about the Den, this Aramus fellow was responsible for his capture, though this is just hearsay coming from me. I never met the... creature, whatever he is."

Mogriil: Listens quietly by way of speaker in the room outside of his cell. He felt no remorse, no sorrow. He had come to terms with himself and waited for the outcome.

Frostad Shieldar: "Ah yes. The strange fellow here the last time we all met. Very well then. Did Mogriil confess to shooting Vuusoolta?"

Dragonlover: "Again, I'm not sure. After his escape, I was whisked away by the tide of war. All that I know is what I have heard from the previous session. About how the armor seemed to control Mogriil, and all that that is common knowledge around the Den now."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost simply nodded. "I am done your honors." and he moved back to the prosecution table.

"Defense, you may now begin cross examination of the witness." High Judge Caravooss spoke.

Street Wolf: Street stood and slowly approached Verbosk sizing the draconian up and down like an old veteran sizing up a new recruit.

Dragonlover: Funny. Verbosk was doing the same thing.

Street Wolf: "Movin' testimony ye gave, Verbosk. Nice, tidy, detailed, except...." he raised a paw up, " when it gets to Mogriil becoming unaccounted fer. A large feller like ye and a powerful mage like Vuusoolta couldn't keep track of Mogriil during questioning?"

The crowd murmured some more. Again that part of the story seemed a little fishy.

Dragonlover: "Mogriil is wily and cunning. He had years of experience getting around mages, piercing their defenses, and taking their heads. I see no reason why he wouldn't have the capabilities to run if he needed."

Street Wolf: "And ye didn't stop him? Sure. He may be a mage killer, but yer nae a mage. Yer big, strong, and vicious."

Frostad Shieldar: "Objection. Badgering the witness and profiling."

Fen Stridar: "Over ruled. It is will documented that Draconians are big, strong, and can be vicious. Continue Defense, but tread lightly."

Street Wolf: "Yes yer honor. Again. Why didn't you stop Mogriil, Verbosk?"

Dragonlover: "A mage killer is just as much of a warrior as I, perhaps even stronger given his capabilities, whether they be skilled or magical or psionic or just plain luck."

Mirius Pojoris: Mirius softly chuckled at the comments about Verbosk.

Street Wolf: "I see. So you didn't just let him waltz by you by the commands of yer boss Vuusoolta Wolf?"

Cries of shock and howls of outrage errupted all over the courtroom at Street dirtying the name of their Alphrans with such an accusation.

Fen Stridar: "Quiet! Or I will have Den Fangs start removing viewers." Fen spoke with a booming voice thanks to the halls accustics.

The crowd simmered to a whispered sea of loathing.

Dragonlover: Verbosk glares at Street Wolf. Oh, that burst vessel somewhere. He was furious. But he answers nevertheless. "There were extraneous circumstances that were beyond my sight. There were tricks in Mogriils lair that had caught me off guard."

Mirius Pojoris: tilted her head and cross the other leg over the other. This was getting more and more interesting the further the trial went.

Street Wolf: "Oh really? What tricks are involved with Vuusoolta telling you to let him go to draw suspicion away from him ordering Mogriil to kill the two councilors?" Street walked to his table and withdrew a report in his paw. "I have here a testimony from one Moonshine Silverwood-Shimmerscale that states that he heard Vuusoolta speaking with Verbosk about ordering Mogriil to murder council members in order to start a coup for power and that Vuusoolta had blackmail agains every councilor."

Street Wolf: "Now tell me. Is this not true? Oh, and his mate Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor confirms his testimony as they both share a mental and soul bond."

Dragonlover: Verbosk takes in a sharp breath. He remains silent.

Street Wolf: Uh oh. Someone went quiet. Street was now grinning.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost looked a bit surprised by this piece of evidence Street had. "Objection! How can we be certain that this Moonshine was not lying? His mate afterall was one who was initially suspected of the murders and has a record of misusing magic as well as serving a dark queen."

Street Wolf: "My niece isn't on trial here. My son is. Now sit down and shut up Frost." he growled.

Dragonlover: Verbosk thinks, and he thinks quickly. But this was his Leftenant. Who should his loyalties lie with: his Master, who had given him safe haven, purpose even, within the Den, and painstakingly taught him for so long, or his commanding officer, his dear friend, even. Maybe Frost could bail him out...

Mirius Pojoris: This only got better and better for Mirius. She snickered to herself, but kept it low so it wouldn't be a disturbence.

Dragonlover: Verbosk watches the exchange and waits for the judge.

"Order! Defense watch your tongue and treat your rival with respect. The Jury is to disregard the statement about Myrlenes character. Though I must ask what means of verification were used for this testimony Defense?"

Street Wolf: He walked up to the judges with purpose and pride. "Here are the copies yer honors. You will that the testimony was given and witnessed by Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor, Den Fang Alruus Blackpaw, Den Fang Caas River who was there when Moonshine brought in a bleeding Myrlene near death and was in the house helping to settle said injured Myrlene. It has been verified by a Den Guild Mage as well."

Fen Stridar: Fen looked over the copies and saw Caravoos nodding. "Evidence has been verified."

The crowd was filling with nervous energy. "Was the Alphrans behind all of this?" "Maybe he's behind the Spiritor attacks to keep his seat?" "Would have anyone one of us killed for crossing his path?"

Frostad Shieldar: Frost was silent and deep in thought. This was an attack he didn't see coming and it had thrown him off track badly.

Street Wolf: "Well Verbosk? Yer under oath. Did Vuusoolta tell you not to stop Mogriil from escaping? Did he tell you he had planned all of the murders and even had a third waiting to happen?"

Dragonlover: Verbosk was tense again. It was up to him now. His choice. Who should be bailed out by his testimony: Lene, or Bromissk? Lene was a friend, had a mate, a child, a younger brother and parents. But Verbosk had sworn to justice as well. To bring Mogriil to justice, he would have to alienate Lene and her family in turn. If he could just save both of them somehow... and it was then that he realized what should be done... But that idea was shot down. They had confirmed testimony against his Bromissk. Verbosk made his choice. Like all students, they must cast off a teacher one day. And Verbosk knew, with these attacks by suspected Spiritors, Vuu might just have a chance to redeem himself in the eyes of the Den. But at the same time, Mogriil must be put to justice. Verbosk speaks. "Yes. He did. However, it was he who was killed. Alphrans Vuusoolta would not have ordered his own death, the destruction of ...the Den. That was Mogriil's own doing, and that is a crime that, in my tribe, is unforgivable."

Street Wolf: "I see. And is it true that Vuusoolta had evidence against the old Den Council for blackmail purposes?"

The crowd was dead silent. Everyone was in shock.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost was now pulling what he could together to keep the momentum against Mogriil going.

Mogriil: Mogriil listened and didn't move. He didn't remember any of the murders or crimes but given what the armor did to him he didn't doubt that he physically committed the crime.

Dragonlover: "He did. Bromissk saw the flaws in the Council, and heard the howls of displeasure, about how slow decisions were made under the Council, how grown intelligent adults yearned for a quicker means of decision-making. Bromissk was simply the one who took the initiative, for the sake of his people and the general unity of the Den he loves."

Mirius Pojoris: All of this was catching Mirius by surprise, too. She peered over the crowd to get a good look at Mogriil. What an interesting Lupinossai to be in such a situation.

Iimiidiina: Iimii just sighed. He knew something was up, but didn't quite know the extent of it.

Street Wolf: "Granted, planned killin's for higher pack order be nothin' uncommon to us all given the bloody history of the Old Country. Yet, here we have someone who ordered death, then conveniently set up all them laws that none of you, and certainly not I, voted on. A lot of laws to make it hard to rebell against a coup and maybe....catch a well laid out scapegoat? Is this the type of law we want? One created by a murdering leader seeking power?" he raised his voice to the viewers.

Frostad Shieldar: "Objection! The laws were confirmed and voted upon by the previous Den Council!"

Street Wolf: "Who had two killed and the rest cowed by Vuusoolta." Street protested.

Dragonlover: "At least Vuusoolta had the courage to rise against the sham of a government that was in power at the time!" Yes, he did speak out of order. But Verbosk didn't care at that moment.

The crowd was murmuring a lot now. "Laws were traps." "We were better of under Spiritor rule in the Old Country." "Yes, at least then you knew when you were wanted dead and why. No law gibberish." "Maybe the law can be salvaged if we oust the little whelp? Why should a Wolf rule the Den?" "His father was no better."

Fen Stridar: Fen watched the whole courtroom fall into chaos for a moment or two.

High Judge Caravoos was looking a bit surprised and a bit thoughtful.

Fen Stridar: Fen leaned over to one of the Den Fangs and soon all exits were now locked down. No one in, no one out. "Order!" he shouted.

The crowd didn't stop their conversations and a few arguments were getting heated.

Mirius Pojoris: "Better and better." Mirius said to herself very quietly and snickered.

Fen Stridar: "Oh for the love of Lupis and Canis." he stood, his eyes flashed red for a moment and he clapped his paws sending a resounding wave of sound and energy through the whole courtroom jarring everyone and causing most to kneel.

The crowd had no choice to be quiet and those kneeling were allowed back up to sit.

Mirius Pojoris: She covered her ears when the sound lasted and gritted her teeth. Mirius is only hoping this crowd doesn't ruin everything for her. ALl of this information was very vital.

Fen Stridar: "My appologies your high honor." he helped Cavaroos back to his seat. "I wonder if we should continue tonight or postpone and convene with a private trial from this point out?"

"No, no, no. To do so would rile the crowds more. We are in a tight spot here Fen." Caravoos whispered to Fen.

Mirius Pojoris: That had her tense for a moment, but to hear that it wouldn't go private made her relax. Good...good.....

Fen Stridar: Fen continued his private council with Caravoos. "So you wish to proceed then?"

Dragonlover: Verbosk gets back into his seat and continues staring at Street.

"Fen, I have been around a long time. Laws are laws regardless of who makes or use them. This system has been the best we have had since the Den Council. This trial I would say is merely one of coincidence."

Fen Stridar: "You think so?" he asked cautiously.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost was remaining cool and poised letting the outbursts to give him time to collect himself.

Street Wolf: A Den Fang politely but forcefully moved Street back to his table.

The crowd seemed exhausted, excited, and tense. This case was very unusual.

"Yes, Fen. We should continue. I think delaying any further would just cause a riot."

Mirius Pojoris: A riot? That wouldn't be so bad. At least, not on her end. A smirk settled across Mirius' muzzle.

Fen Stridar: He sighed once. "Very well High Judge." he left his close council and took his seat. "The trial continues. Anymore outbursts meets with expulsion from the courtroom and a fine of 10 emerald nuukels per person offending. Prossecution and Defense. Same goes for both of you. Are you finished with the witness Verbosk?"

Street Wolf: "No further questions you're honor." Street looked smug.

Frostad Shieldar: "No futher questions either you honor. I wish to call my last witness."

Dragonlover: Verbosk clears the stand. He scowls very noticably at Street.

"Verry well. Thank you for your testimony and continuing service to the Den Fangs, Verbosk."

Dragonlover: He stayed inside the hall, watching over the crowd. Riot control, you could say.

Street Wolf: Street just gave a mock touche bow of his head.

Fen Stridar: "Go ahead and call your last witness Frost and pray to Lupis another disruption does not happen again." Fen said firmly though he looked at both Frost and Street.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost stood, and aproached the Jury slowly. His mirrored sunglasses reflecting the many lights in the court room. "I think it is time we put aside all of the witnesses and evidence as they all point to Mogriil regardless of who told him to do what. Let's bring Mogriil up here and ask him about all of this. I call forth Mogriil!"

Dragonlover: Plus, he was curious what Frost would do to seal the bars on... ahhh, Mogriil.

Mogriil: Mogriil stood and was released from his cell. He wore a simply white tunic and white canvas pants. Two Den Fangs lead him to the witness dias and he stood before everyone looking tall, strong, but non threatening, mellow even.

"Mogriil, you are under oath to tell the whole truth under penalty of Lupis' wrath. Do you understand?"

Mogriil: "Yes your honors." he said softly and in a quiet voice.

Mirius Pojoris: stretched her limbs in the seat getting relaxed. This sure was a long trial.

Mogriil: He also wore a mask made of jade pieces fitted into the form of a wolfs head.

Fen Stridar: "Proceed prosecution." he leaned back feeling exhausted by this zoo of a trial.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost nodded, then he removed his sun glasses showing eyes that were pure black, showing off his hidden soultre herritage. "Mogriil, what was your profession in the Old Country?"

Mogriil: "Soldier for hire by the Great Den Spiritor, then Mage Killer for the highest bidder. I killed mages on both sides of the war." he said in that soft quiet voice again.

Frostad Shieldar: "What profession did you have here in the Den when you came from the Old Country?"

Mogriil: "I was in the Den Militia before the Attack of Takhasis, and was a bodyguard for the former Den Alphran Fleetian Wolf's daughter, Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor."

Frostad Shieldar: "After that?"

Mogriil: "I... I... don't remember."

Fen Stridar: "Mogriil, you are under oath not to lie. Answer the question."

Mirius Pojoris: She leaned forward again. It surely would be important to focus her attention on Mogriil.

Mogriil: "It is the truth you honor. The last thing I remember was being told not to be around Myrlene anymore as we were courting and found that we were related by blood."

Dragonlover: Verbosk snorted with amusement. What a pack of lies.

Frostad Shieldar: "So you don't remember killing Councilor Ferrousteel in a dueling ring under the Red Dragon Inn with Myrlene lightsaber, nor repeatedly stabbing Councilor Graasiim with you lance in his own garden?"

Mogriil: "No." he looked up. "I am a killer. To this I attest. I have killed in war and in peacetime, but I do not remember killing those two councilors." he said in a confused voice.

Dragonlover: It can't be. Alpha ordered their deaths...

Frostad Shieldar: "Really now? You don't remember following Vuusoolta's orders? Nor the plans to poison the eldest Foxingale councilor with her own healing potions that were to be tainted with arsenic?" he walked to his table and held up the confiscated plans to perform the murder.

Mogriil: "No. I do not. All I remember is leaving Lene, then feeling a stabbing pain and a mirror image of myself stabbing me. I remember pleading with Aramus to help me, set me free."

Frostad Shieldar: "Asking him to set you free? Then you did know about these murders or you wouldn't feel a need to be freed from something if you don't remember a thing!" Frost was a few inches from Mogriils jade mask.

The crowd was quiet not wanting to get arrested but every single ear and eye were locked on mogriil and frost.

Fen Stridar: "Mogriil. You will get no further warnings."

Street Wolf: Street just watched as his triumphant beach head may crumble.

Mogriil: Mogriil didn't step back from Frost. He took a moment to breath and think. "How can I testify that I saw or did anything when all I knew was a faintness in my mind that I felt like a puppet being pulled by strings. Not by strings from this Vuusoolta Wolf you speak of, but strings laced with magic and old power. I do not remember the murders as my mind was wrapped in blinding cotton of magic. I asked for freedom when Aramus's stabbing broke the barrier to my mind." he said quietly.

Dragonlover: Verbosk looks about. Vuu is innocent? Something deeper was going on here.

Frostad Shieldar: "So you claim magic held you in sway to kill on command?" he asked simply.

Mogriil: "Yes."

Frostad Shieldar: "So you have no collective knowledge of stabbing your once beloved Myrlene to near death? Torturing her with each thrust to joints and known areas that hold many nerves to illicit pain?"

Mogriil: "I... I... did what?" he looked up, yellow eyes wide in shock and his voice trembled.

Iimiidiina: Iimii started to murmur his shock. Were the Spiritors behind this? Maybe the attacks are just a phase in a plan that started long ago.

Street Wolf: "Objection your honors. He's badgering the witness." Street called out.

Fen Stridar: Fen looked to Caravoos with a undecided look.

Mirius Pojoris: She brought her left paw up and slowly began to scratch and rub her chin. Interesting events.

"Sustained. Prosecutor Frost, rephrase the question."

Frostad Shieldar: "Very well. Did you know you nearly killed Myrlene?"

Mogriil: "No." he stammered, nearly sobbing.

Frostad Shieldar: "No further questions your honors." Frost returned to his table.

Fen Stridar: "Defense you may cross examine." Fen said a bit tired.

Street Wolf: Street stood and approached Mogriil. This was the home stretch. Hang in there son. "Mogriil. Did you ever have these bout's of not remembering who you killed in the Old Country during the wars?"

Mogriil: "Yes. When I received the armor and the lance from a Spiritor Mage. He was getting old and was tired of all the bickering so he offered me weaponry and defense to make me a double edged sword in the wars."

Street Wolf: "So this was an on going problem of mental black outs due to magical artifacts." he looked to the jury and the Judges. "Is is right that we try a Lupe who, while his body killed, his mind and soul are innocent of the crimes?"

Frostad Shieldar: "Objection. Records show that all Soul Knights, suits of armor powered by souls were tried and put to oblivion during the wars and even today we destroy such artifacts as the Soul powers the armor and makes it a very lethal threat to the Lupinossai Public. Mogriil is mereley the same case, just a fleshy variation."

Caravoos sat back, looking a bit troubled.

Fen Stridar: Fen rubbed his fore head in thought. This case was intricate, confusing, and yet pivotal.

The crowd quitely whispered among themselves. They were all confused too. Who was really at fault here?

Frostad Shieldar: Frost looked to the Judges to see if his objection stands.

Mirius Pojoris: Mirius raised her brows, awaiting to see what would happen. Oh the suspense!

Street Wolf: Street just held his ground asking with body and eyes that this was a mistrial of a Lupe who was not in control of his body.

Dragonlover: Verbosk crosses his arms. In his tribe, it matters entirely if a being is merely a pawn. He is now trying to decide if Mogriil is lying on the stand, or if he really was used. He is guessing the Spiritors. However, the pawn should be punished just as the master should.

Caravoos stood and motioned to Fen. "We will take a short break while Fen and I discuss this." and he left into the back council room.

Fen Stridar: Fen followed.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost sat back down and sipped some water. He gave Street a toast for surprising the hell out of him.

Mirius Pojoris: She sat back in the seat and covered her mouth with a paw, yawning.

Street Wolf: He resisted an urge to hug his son. This was hard on Mogriil. Instead he walked back to his table and sat waiting impatiently.

Mogriil: Mogriil just stood, slumped, looking broken, worn, and in absolute misery. He had hurt Myrlene?

Soon Caravoos was back and seated.

Fen Stridar: So was Fen.

Dragonlover: Verbosk listens on.

Fen Stridar: "This has been a very trying case. One of much evidence, supportive, contradictory, and misleading. It is also quite apparent that another party may be at fault as well, yet, we have no solid evidence to support that claim. We do have before us a Lupionssai that has physically murdered two Den Councilors as well as attempting murder twice and using dangerous magic. Both statements of Defense and Prosecution stand."

Caravoos looked to the Jury. "It is with a heavy heart that we must let the decision of guilty or innocent fall to your shoulders with such heavy proof. Remember what you heard, all of the evidence, and the tesimony. Den Fan Laas, please take the Jury into the jury room for deliberation. We shall wait here for a verdict."

The Den Fang nodded and opened a door to the back. The jury filed out quietly and the door closed.

Mogriil was allowed to sit, cross legged in the center of the witness dias.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost put his sunglasses back on and waited.

Dragonlover: Moment of truth.

Street Wolf: Street sat. It was all he could do.

Iimiidiina: Iimii kneads his cloak nervously.

Mirius Pojoris: Mirius began to just hum to herself and closed her eyes as she waited.

The crowd went back to idle chatter of Den events and possible holidays. Anything to break the silence of waiting.

Fen Stridar: Fen checked for any hospital messages on his cell phone.

Iimiidiina: With a POP, Iimii pulls out his volume on alchemy and starts reading Dragonflight.

Mirius Pojoris: Another yawn and she would continue humming. Even if the night was full of information, it was a bit boring at the same time. Just imagine everything she'd have to explain to her partner and friends.

With a creak of the door easily heard in the room, the Jury filed back in and took their seats. One Jurer, an Airii, handed a scroll of paper to Den Fang Laas. Laas handed the scroll to Fen.

Fen Stridar: Fen read the results then handed the scroll to Cavaroos, not showing any hint of the verdict.

Caravoos read the scroll then rolled it back up. "Mogriil Wolf, please rise."

Mogriil: Mogriil stood and looked at the Judges with yellow eyes that were uncertain of his fate but braving the news none the less.

Iimiidiina: Iimii closes the book and leans forward, watching intently.

Caravoos looked over to the Airii Juror. She nodded and spoke in a high voice.

Mirius Pojoris: She opened her eyes and stopped humming. It was time to listen and watch again.

"We the jurry, find Mogriil the accused, by a vote of 5 to 2, guilty of killing a lupinossai on both counts. A vote of 5 to 2 guilty of using magic during peace time to harm others. A vote of 5 to 2 guilty of being a danger to society. A vote of 7 to 0 not guilty of willful murder."

Iimiidiina: Iimii nods his head. He can agree with the verdict.

"Very well. Mogriil you have been found guilty for the crimes of kill two Lupinossai, using magic to harm others, and to being a general threat to society. How do you plead?"

Aramus Con Jackuss: A odd presence may be felt in the area of the court room. Maybe familiar to some, strange to others.

Mogriil: "Guilty."

"Very well then. Sentencing shall be met out now. The highest punishment for these crimes would be death by execution but prior arrangements have nullified that sentence. Therefor, by the power invested by the Den and the Alphrans, I sentence you to permanent exile from the Den, no less than 20 years endentured servitude to one Aramus Con Jackuss, and to be neutered in the morning."

Street Wolf: Street look sickened. It was the same sentencing he had faced back in the Old Country for leading rebellions. Street slumped, defeated.

Mirius Pojoris: She blinked. That surely sounded painful enough.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost simply nodded to the Judges. He won.

Iimiidiina: Iimii grimaces. Neutering... even that sounds painfully brutal.

Mogriil: Mogriil dropped his gaze to the floor. "As you wish."

Iimiidiina: And, more than likely, it will be done by his Dad, unless there is some specialist.

Aramus Con Jackuss: Aramus appeared with a gasp in the crowd. "<I>Oh my!"</I> The being said out loud.

Fen Stridar: Guess who has to do the neutering. Fen sighed once, then stood. "The trial is now over. Mogriil is to be taken into custody and remanded to a secure room in Whisper Paws Hospital to receive part of his sentencing. From their, Aramus Con Jackuss has claim to him. He is never allowed back into the Den, Aramus." he said to the being in the crowd.

Caravoos stood and left the court room.

Iimiidiina: Iimii looks upon Mogriil. Somehow, he was pitying the poor form.

The crowd hummed with conversations as the Den Fangs opened the doors and let the crowds file out.

Aramus Con Jackuss: The being gave a bow from its position to Fen. "Very well!"

Dragonlover: Verbosk comes forward with the other Den Fangs to secure Mogriil.

Mirius Pojoris: Mirius decided not to move. Instead, she had her eyes on Street. Hmmm.

Iimiidiina: Iimii waited in his seat for the chamber to clear out.

Fen Stridar: He looked up through the glassy canopy and hoped that justice was done. He left to make arrangements for the first neutering of a public criminal.

Mogriil: Mogriil didn't put up a fight. He simply walked where directed.

The Den Fangs led Mogriil out to the hospital and secured him in a private room with no windows and guards inside and outside the room.

Aramus Con Jackuss: The being disappeared and appeared right beside Iimiidiina. "Hello!" The being said in excitement

Iimiidiina: Iimii first sends a message, telepathically, to Mogriil as he's sent off. ~Mogriil, for whatever it is worth, I'm sorry I treated you like mu'udra.~ He then looks up at Aramus. "Hey, Aramus."

Frostad Shieldar: Frost stood and sent his aid on out. He crossed over and stood before Street's table. "Well fought and well met Street. I am sorry the verdict was bad for your son. You did very well and I know that this means little to your sorrow." Frost then walked for the aisles leading out.

Mirius Pojoris: slowly stood up and made her way towards Street Wolf slowly with a curious look on her muzzle. Though, she'd occasionally glance at that Frost. "Just another spiritor hater" she thought to herself.

Street Wolf: "Frost. You better hope I never meet you alone in a dark alley." he growled.

Iimiidiina: Iimii starts to head outside.

Aramus Con Jackuss: "How does your day treat you?" The being chuckled some.

One of the Den Fangs stiffened hearing that threat.

Mirius Pojoris: Oh, Mirius heard it, too once she was closer. Interesting.

Frostad Shieldar: Frost stopped for a moment and turned slowly. "Street. One of you family has been punished for not being smart. Do not follow that same path." And with that he left.

Iimiidiina: "Well enough. I'm happy justice was served. But I really think neutering is harsh."

The last guard left. The court room was empty except for Street, Mirius, Iimii and Aramus.

Aramus Con Jackuss: "Things could be worse! They could always turn him into a female!" The being snickered.

Street Wolf: Street stood, and walked for the aisle, taking one last look at the where the judges had sat. He was so damned close to getting his son freed.

Mirius Pojoris: "Ain't he rough 'round the edges, huh?" She stopped by Street.

Street Wolf: "Just doing his damned job." he muttered under his breath walking for the door. Street was in a black mood and close to killing.

Iimiidiina: "Aramus, this isn't funny. Mogriil was used. And that means we have far more serious problems than it would seem."

Aramus Con Jackuss: "Some problems you can't cross until the situation arises." it examined the boy. "And my oh my, you got new looks! Getting fancy are we?"

Mirius Pojoris: She began to follow him. "Well, certainly, I know what it is like to be accused of...killings."

Iimiidiina: Iimii was happy for the change in subject as they walked outside. "Yes. Birthday presents."

Street Wolf: He turned a killing look on Mirius for a long moment or two. "I've seen you before. Drinking with that feline Emuna."

Aramus Con Jackuss: It had no problem at all following Iimiidiina. "Birthday? When so?!"

Mirius Pojoris: She saw that stare, but it didn't bother her to much. "And that be a problem? I ain't hurtin' anyone. Besides, I kinda am on yer side y'know."

Street Wolf: "Really now?" he left the Den Hall of Law. "Walk with me."

Mirius Pojoris: She grinned and decided to walk with him, of course. Who knew what she was up to.

((And this concludes the trial of The Den Vs. Mogriil))
