Lupis just smirked at Canis and looked right up at her eyes taking the challenge in them.
"My dear Canis. Mate, lover, and partner in ruling our children must I remind you of what happened the last time we did that?" he stood and easily towered over the small maiden form Canis had chosen.
"Shall I remind you that we once cleaned out the evil that affected Lupinoss and what happened then? The good turned on us out of boredom. Prosperity can only fill so much before the primal nature that all creatures have starts to hunger for conflict, chaos, death, and crime. We gave them everything, healed everything, cleaned up the filth, and they repaid us with blade, bullet, and magic. I did not like slipping away from our children, nor the charade of our presumed death. Spiritor has done more damage than I would have ever allowed but that happened because we interfered." He took up a casual pace along the brook.
"We may be gods, deities, all powerful, and thus is our down fall. We can make everything right, but that is not right. All who live have the right to joy, sadness, life, and death. When gods meddle, that natural order is unbalanced then we are held accountable. Have you not looked around this realm? It is teaming with deities, supernatural, and all-mighty's. What has that accomplished in this realm? Nothing I tell you. Here, gods can die just as easily as mortals. Now then, you ask why I do nothing to heal our people and continue to increase their misery?" Lupis paused and stared into the brook. The water started to ice over.
"I will help those who can prove that they can help themselves. So far, some of our children can stand on their own, but many are so cowed by history, and their own shallow views on their life that I feel no stirring to help them. Let them fight among themselves. Let them rob, steal, and kill. If need be, we can always mate and start the race over again in this realm. They must prove to me they are worth my time to help them, and if I do help them, it will be minimal. They cannot rely on us again. To have a race solely depend on their deities for everything is to render that race weak and sickly." he removed his gaze from the brook and the water began to melt.
"Now here is my question to you Canis. What do you intend to do about this human child that wears a Lupinossai's skin? She is a dangerous one, and you know it." he turned and fixed his chilling stare on her.
