Lupis

Lupis strolled into a little known bubbling brook the Southern Glen's forest hid. He was in a very simple traveling cloak, dusty from walking trails, ratty walking staff in a tanned skin hand. Ever since he came to this realm by invitation of the Elder Gods, Lupis found that looking like them allowed him to blend in better and maybe meddle with non-Lupinossai.

For now, he sat in a patch of peanut grass and awaited for his company today.

Lupis wouldn't have to wait long. Soon a stunning white wolf, easily larger than most common wolves trotted to the bubbling brook and drank deeply. A glance of violet eyes were cast upon Lupis. The wolf was soon replaced with a slender, young maiden in a robe.

Canis approached her lover, her mate, her companion in ruling over their children of Lupinoss. She took up a seat on a mossy rock and coolly regarded him.

"I see you are in human form husband. Out meddling with mortals not of our kind again?"

Lupis chuckled, plucking out a few blades of peanut grass and chewed on them. "The humans of this realm are quite amusing to harass. They are so touchy about many things and beliefs. They are quite unlike the Humarans of Lupinoss, where war is their only passion. And what about you? Have you been coddling our pups again?"

He watched Canis' reaction as he spoke. He knew all about her trysts with Iimiidiina and the reversing of Lupis' decreed punishment on the boy. "So you honestly think that upstart has learned anything of value from one short war and the loss of a pet?"

The maiden colored slightly with a bit of temper. "You seem to have no issues with throwing our children into constant turmoil to satisfy your lust of battle and war. I am allowed my penchant for coddling those I chose. I bore you how many sons, and only one daughter to myself. the Foxingale line is mine to adore and love."

She stood before Lupis now, looking down on him with her violet eyes. "You know you could stop all of this follow that has beset the Den. With ease you could remove the filth and crime blackening it's heart. With ease I could follow behind you and heal the broken, and set the poor to prosperous again. Yet you insist on playing with the humans, and toying with our children. Why?"

Canis crossed her arms and stared at him waiting for an answer.

Lupis just smirked at Canis and looked right up at her eyes taking the challenge in them.

"My dear Canis. Mate, lover, and partner in ruling our children must I remind you of what happened the last time we did that?" he stood and easily towered over the small maiden form Canis had chosen.

"Shall I remind you that we once cleaned out the evil that affected Lupinoss and what happened then? The good turned on us out of boredom. Prosperity can only fill so much before the primal nature that all creatures have starts to hunger for conflict, chaos, death, and crime. We gave them everything, healed everything, cleaned up the filth, and they repaid us with blade, bullet, and magic. I did not like slipping away from our children, nor the charade of our presumed death. Spiritor has done more damage than I would have ever allowed but that happened because we interfered." He took up a casual pace along the brook.

"We may be gods, deities, all powerful, and thus is our down fall. We can make everything right, but that is not right. All who live have the right to joy, sadness, life, and death. When gods meddle, that natural order is unbalanced then we are held accountable. Have you not looked around this realm? It is teaming with deities, supernatural, and all-mighty's. What has that accomplished in this realm? Nothing I tell you. Here, gods can die just as easily as mortals. Now then, you ask why I do nothing to heal our people and continue to increase their misery?" Lupis paused and stared into the brook. The water started to ice over.

"I will help those who can prove that they can help themselves. So far, some of our children can stand on their own, but many are so cowed by history, and their own shallow views on their life that I feel no stirring to help them. Let them fight among themselves. Let them rob, steal, and kill. If need be, we can always mate and start the race over again in this realm. They must prove to me they are worth my time to help them, and if I do help them, it will be minimal. They cannot rely on us again. To have a race solely depend on their deities for everything is to render that race weak and sickly." he removed his gaze from the brook and the water began to melt.

"Now here is my question to you Canis. What do you intend to do about this human child that wears a Lupinossai's skin? She is a dangerous one, and you know it." he turned and fixed his chilling stare on her.

"My dear mate, what I do with Ammy Spiritor is my business and none of yours. You get say over the males, I have say over the females. Ammy is hardly as dangerous as you make her to be. She may be powerful, yes, and she may have a human soul housed in Lupinossai flesh, but her power is held in check by those she has surrounded herself." Canis said soothingly, taking that gaze of his without flinching.

Canis took a seat by the brook and let her fingers trailed through the water. "I would be more concerned with our unified angel. He is more of a potential danger to all than Ammy as he now has powers from both of us and his father Spiritor. So, Lupis, my mate, my lover, father of all of my loved children, what do you plan to do with Merlin Spiritor? How long do you think shi will accept the facade of being a Wolf? If there is any possibility of a return of chaos from a Spiritor, Merlin would be the most powerful choice."

She watched Lupis now, to see if he squirmed.

Lupis didn't flinch, he was thoughtful though and knelt near the stream Canis sat by. Forming a small pool he scryed upon Merlin as they spoke. Time flowed differently for the two gods and thus months was merely seconds to them. He saw that Merlin, formerly Fleetian Wolf was already wrestling with the past and that Orion Wolf was unveiling much.

"My dear Canis, things are in motion already. Our unified angel is progressing with the past. I doubt Merlin will be trouble. The long years of living a Wolf's life has erased most of the Spiritor way and blood in hir. We have nothing to worry about."

Canis watched him scrying and smirked. She did her own scrying but to a different point of time. One in the near future and her smirk grew wider. Oh Lupis, my dear. We have much to worry about as two of our angels are pregnant, one being Merlin. Canis said nothing though and kept this thought to herself.

Let her all-knowing husband blunder on like a fool.
