As Legion awaits her audiance with the Lupe's fleet, and fen one of those bugs of hers left the encampment after recon. The insect was approx two inches long with large wings much like a locust, but with mandid claws and a head like a japanese hornet complete with powerful mandibles for rending just about anything.

The beastie flew deep within the woods. Its mission? Find a large enough dwelling for their queen to build an army. What luck A few miles from the Lupe den was a old abandoned mine. The outside boreded up,but that could not stop a curious insect from squeezing it's way inside for a look.

The mine was huge with many winding and interconnecting paths much like an ant hill. This would be perfect for the queens needs, and back to it's queen if began to fly. To report they found a "Keep".

The mine shaft's only occupants were bats, and rats so far, but they would have to go. Her minons rushing through the shafts in a frenzied vigor. Claws rending limbs and wings. As each rodent and bat fell to the claws of one another carring a small egg would chew a hole into the creature and deposit it. Then flew off to join it's brethren in the battle.

She had lost quite a few of her children in the little skirmishes with the former inhabitants of one of the mind shafts, but the dead vermin laying upon the ground would be host to many more. She could not possibly kill every last creature that dwelled in here now, but like all things it would take time. At a junction located within one of the deepest parts of the mine were a large work bench. Chairs covered with cobwebs and old lanters strewn about. This would make a good throne room as any. Next of course would be to find a suitable birthing chamber.. A nursery. Taking a seat upon one of the benches her brood fan out down each of the mine shafts. in groups a twenty. The strength of bats and the rodents were no match for them.

A caved in portion of the mine leading to a twenty by thirty foot room with skeletons of unfortunates decorating the floor would be suitable for now. That portion of the swarm flying back to report. The rest called back for now to help carry the fallen rodents and other "PEsts" back to said location. Soom those eggs would hatch and her brood would grow.

The mines were now a buzz with new activity. Swarms of a hundred or more flying out of the entrance and into the surroundings forests in search of new hosts. Their targets were the local fauna. The smaller prey first of course. Invadding rabbit holes. Their underground dens would prove to be useful cells to breed more of her kind, and spread spread her terrirory without being to noticeable.

Meanwhile deep inside the bowels of that mine legion was sitting upon her "Throne" A map of rhydin and the surroounding area within her six hands. Eyes slowly moving over it. Rolling it up she sets it within a map case. Rising and moving to the nursury area.

She had spend a few hours clearing the area out. She would really need to work faster on getting those sapien creatures under her "Employ" so light grunt work like this could be avoided. Eyeyes focused upon the troops carring food to and bones from the area. Larvae voratiously eating anything it could. A smile forming upon her face. Indeed her army was growing nicely. Soon she would have enough to form a new colony.

Fen looked up from his case files to see Fleet standing tiredly in front of him. He had a message held out to Fen in his metal paw.

Guards state some weird insect thing in armor came stomping in looking for you. It left the location of the mines in the forest as the place to meet it. I believe it was at the Inn when Sari worsened. Go see to this and let me know what is going on.

Fen just stared at the note and nodded. "Okay. When I get these cases filled out I will head out that way. May I take a few Marduk with me in case it proves to be hostile?" he asked with some concern.

Fleet just nodded. He showed he wasn't happy the guards just let some bug creature in armor walk right into the compound.

Fen returned to his files, filled them out, left them on the desk for later and stepped out into the Den Square. He looked up at the noon soon, stretched, then went about getting 4 of the heavier models of Marduk to escort him.

Marduk escorts in place, Fen walked down the paths to the Forest. He lead them to old Mine they boarded up to keep the young Lupes out. The mine was open again. Fen saw a large insect looking at him at the entrance and it scurried away. He had a feeling it was a sentry. He motion for the Marduk to stop.

"We will wait outside. I have a feeling the creature has been alerted and I am not fond of closed in tunnels."

The Marduk and stood there silently waiting for the creature to emerge.

The Gunner class Marduk drones by and large were not overly endowed in the intelligence department, but they served a function, and served that function quite well. These drones were designed and built for warfare.

Standing at eight feet tall, they resembled walking tanks. Two heavily armored legs supported a boxy fusilage which served as both main body and head. From this central trunk rode two 'arms' which terminated in gun turrets. Distributed sensors littered the entire frame, and both the central fusilage and the two arms sported an arsenal of weapon systems ranging from heavy plasma cannons, projectile auto-cannons, micro-missile launchers, and napalm plasma flamethrowers.

Right now the lead Marduk's torso was tracking back and forth on the swivel mount at the 'waist'. Bio-sensors were picking up signals from deep within the mine. The whole area was literally crawling with living things.

#Sir, this unit is detecting significant large biosigns in the immediate area. This unit requests orders and friend or foe designations.# It was the extent of the drone's capability to think ahead and make command decisions. Unless they were directly attacked, the Marduk would hold fire untill given orders. However, should the insects prove hostile in any way, the four mechanical behemoths would unleash their full fury.

"Mark them as friendly unless ordered otherwise. If hostile intent is shown, mark them as enemy." Fen instructed. He looked around the mines.

"Why on earth would the creature come here?" he pondered. Lot's of life down below according to the Marduk sensors. This didn't sound good. Fen flicked open his cell phone.

"Fleet, this is Fen. Just arrived at the mine. I think some bug sentry spotted us. We are waiting for the creature to come and speak with us. Marduk sensors are picking up swarms of life inside. I think the creature may be nesting." he said with a hesitant voice.

"Find what it wants if it comes out. If it doesn't come out soon, have the Marduk's lay mines at the entrance and if possible impact charges to collapse it. I don't like the sounds of some alien creature nesting near the Den. Hurry back soon as possible. We need some help developing the LNC treatment and you're the only one with more knowledge on the Lupanecrosis than any of us combined."

Fen flicked the cell shut. He looked to the Marduk.

"Start a timer. The creature has 2 hours to come out and talk. Begin laying inactive minds now along the entrance and any demolitions you have to collapse the tunnel. The Alpha wants this mine sealed permanently if the creature doesn't show." Fen instructed clearly.
