It was foggy night in Rhydin. Paws were barely heard on the paving stones as a small, purple furred wolf darted through the city as fast she could. Any who would have seen the purple streak amongst the rolling white would simply think it was Lene running another errand for Arcadia. This was far from the truth tonight.

Lene's thoughts were far from Arcadia tonight. They were more of a cycle of images and nightmares that started one night about a week ago. Darting through the Market District, she almost slammed into the basin of the fountain there, so occupied was her mind. Why the haste?

The nightmares revolved around her short, but traumatic stay with Takhesis, Queen of Darkness, fondly known as Aunt Tacky by her friends who rescued her. The first night of the dreams Lene shoved the images aside thinking the nightmares were stress related. She had been working pretty hard in her new job. Everyone was appreciating the effort she was putting in at the Ship Yards.

The nightmares would stay at bay till night. That perfect time when you are resting, vulnerable to imagination. Soon, Lene was sleeping less and less. With the lack of sleep, her mental barriers she had constructed so carefully, cracked and came down like the wall around a fabled city called Jericho she had read about. Now the nightmares swam before her gray eyes day and night.

No place felt safe anymore. Why? She kept hearing the cold, callous, laughing voice of Takhesis mocking her.

"You thought you escaped me, didn't you? Ha, ha, ha! You merely escaped my physical torment and presence, but you know as well as I do that what I taught you will haunt you for the rest of your life. You want solace and peace, return to me my wayward envoy. Much more teaching is to be done."

Every time the voice stopped, cold, steel hard fingers would grab her neck, and force her to watch as new tortures were invented, new spells of vileness whipped into her. That was when she would bolt upright in bed almost howling in panic. Lene couldn't keep this up. She couldn't keep acting like nothing was wrong. Aja would suspect something soon, and the last time Takhesis was mentioned, people were hurt and mom was killed. She would die herself before she let that path be traveled again.

It was 2 a.m. The clock by her bed glowed eerily green in the darkness. Doing what a lot of Lupes did, borne by their natural instinct for survival that no scientist could remove with genetic manipulation, Lene grabbed her leather satchel of holding and grabbed what she could. Soon she slipped out of the house in Arcadia and headed for the gates.

That would be a problem. Gabriel and Michael were on duty. She heard in the back of her head the voice starting to cackle at her again. Gritting her teeth, she ran straight for the gate, all sense of civility or politeness gone. The two young men stared in wonder as they saw her running right for the gate and not stopping.

Michael stepped forward determined to know what had one of their friends spooked. That was a mistake. Lene's fighting instincts kicked in seeing him block her way. She slid on one pant leg between Michael's legs, and drove a gauntlet-ted fist right at his groin. The young man went down screaming in pain. Lene didn't stop though. she leaped from her sliding position and snapped her wings open to fly over the gate. Gabriel was faster.

She felt his fingers grab her legs and his weight pull her down. The voice mocked more. "I see you're still a threat to those you love. Return to me." Her mind told her that those cold, steely fingers were on her neck again, though nothing was touching her.

"Sorry Gabe." is all she said, when he pulled her to the ground. He moved quick to pin her to the ground. The attack on Michael was not funny. However, if you pin her to the ground, you better muzzle her. "Pain!" she barked and Gabe screamed falling back and writhing on the ground. He would be okay, she told herself. She didn't put her full will into the power word, just enough to get him off of her.

She got up and tried to flap her wings. A twinge of pain told her, that one wing was strained. No flying tonight. Tapping her blue dragon tattoo quickly, the wings vanished. She ran for the gates and found them locked. She pointed a clawed finger at the lock and chain. "Break!" The metal shattered to dust by the fear she pumped into the word. By now the Ship Yard was quite alerted by the painful screams of the boys.

"Viissii Nuulliim." she muttered cloaking herself in invisibility. Lene kicked the gates open and fled Arcadia.

Now she was here by the fountain, running from a nightmare vision of Takhesis trying to catch her. She had to get home. Home to Dad. He would make this go away. He had to! She darted away from the fountain and ran for the Den. Images of all those she tormented, tortured, and killed by force leered at her the rest of the 5 mile journey.

Reaching the Den gates, the guards were quite surprised to see Lene running to the Den. They opened the gates though as it was law to allow all Lupes free access to their little homeland. Soon she was standing outside of home, coughing and panting hard. Her gray eyes looked at the windows. The lights were off, the scent of mom and dad were faded. They weren't home.

Lene took a spare key from her leather satchel and opened the door. She went all the way to her old room, found Tinn her husky plush toy, wrapped him in a fierce hug, and wedged herself into the tightest corner of her room. Flicking open her cell phone, she called Dad.

Fleet was sitting at the Red Dragon Inn, enjoying a beer. Why not? His daughter was away from the house, doing well, and his wife Ammy seemed to be pulling together quite nicely. He needed a break from holding paws and stitching a nation together through war. The conversations were nice and light tonight. No fighting, no tension, no drama. Just the way he loved it.

Then the cell phone went off. Of all the pieces of technology, the cell phone was one thing you both loved and hated. His mind drifted off a little in that brief silent second between rings. He wondered how many cell phones have been flushed, smashed, eaten, flamed, blown up, or melted in Rhydin due to their unpredictable startling nature. The cell phone rang again.

Fleet flicked it open. Two things hit him at once. The call was from Lene, and it was 2 a.m. Most parents would see this as the dreaded call telling them their precious wonder in this world had been in a car wreck, or in jail for some teenage prank. His concern and fear was far worse as she spoke to him. The rattled energy in her voice, sounds of heavy breathing as if she'd been running, and that she was home, at the Den and not Arcadia.

"I'll be right there Lene." he flicked off the phone and wondered why Ammy wasn't home. She wasn't here, and she rarely went anywhere else.

As if by magic, or some cosmic sense of irony, the cell phone rang again. Maybe he should consider chewing on the damn thing. He flicked it open and yep, there was Ammy. By the sound of her voice and confusion he sighed. She was drunk and lost somewhere. "I'll pick you up. I am heading home to see Lene."

Phone clicked shut once more. He glared at the poor plastic thing daring it to ring again. It'd taste lightning if it did. Quickly apologizing to people at the Inn, he left. Some days, the vacation was too short. He found Ammy sitting at the fountain, practically crying rivers of tears. He thought maybe she was trying to compete with the fountain.

Gently putting an arm around her and helping her walk steadily, the headed for the Den. The whole time, between sobs, she told him what had happened earlier. She had gotten drunk, mouth off to Anya, and they got into a fight, then she turned on Aja before she left the Inn. Fleet took a deep breath as he listened. Patching up burnt bridges after being drunk was never an easy task. He started making a mental list of things to do now.

Getting Ammy home, and safely laid on the couch with a metal bowl by her. He knew Ammy had no capacity for handling alcohol, and what he smelled on her should have killed her easily. She'd be puking later. For now, he had a daughter frightened by something.

Stepping into Lene's room, he found his daughter wedged in a corner like some pup who was running from wild felinoid.

"Hey, precious. Mind telling your dad what's wrong?" he asked gently. He knelt by Lene.

Lene suddenly latched onto him, sensing him being near, and crying. A small sigh escaped Fleets muzzle. Crying was a symptom he had a hard time dealing with or soothing. Patting her on the back and softly singing a lullaby he sang to her back when the Nexus took her. He stepped back into the kitchen. Ammy was gone, so was the bowl. Sure enough, he heard puking in the bathroom.

Fleet sat Lene down at the kitchen tangle and pried her loose. "Just sit there, and hold Tinn. Okay? Tinn will protect you while I make some tea."

In truth, Tinn was just a stuffed animal, but she had created a strong bond with it when she was of a younger mind. He pulled out three cups. Yes, three. Ammy would need something to drink as well. Soon, he was boiling water, and measuring out loose tea and dried herbs. He sat the tea pot on the table and let it all steep. The bathroom had grown quiet, and he didn't want to thing about the mess to clean up.

"Tea on the table Love when you're ready." he called out. The word Tea triggered another series of vomiting noises. Another sigh. He turned and look to Lene who was staring wide eyed at him, but the eyes weren't seeing him.

"Lene? Darling. Give me your paw." he asked gently.

Lene complied stiffly. Small purple paw was taken in his large, gray paw that was showing a lot of new scars from his return to fighting. He massaged her paw, triggering multiple pressure points to rebalance her mental Chakra. In ten minutes, Lene started to really look at him. Fleet gave a small smile on his muzzle. Maybe Sean did him a favor by making him young again. In his old age, this might have killed him stress wise.

"What has you frightened Lene? Are you seeing something bad?" he asked again. He could simply batter down her shattered mental barriers and look himself, but this was something she needed to tell him.

"I... I... hear... Takhesis again. She wants me back. She keeps showing me the images from when I was a pup. I don't want to go back to her." her voice went from a high pitched squeak to a sobbing again.

Well at least Fleet had a few things to work with now. The tea was smelling good and strong. He had made a batch of Mint, Raspberry, Ginger, and Chamomille, with a heavy dose of Vallerian root. Both girls would need the rest. He had just green tea in his cup. He poured Lene a cup of the herbal tea.

"It can't possibly be Takhesis, Lene. She has no connection to you anymore. Are you sure it's not just your imagination?" he asked softly.

He watched Lene take a small sip of the tea and grimace. Medicine rarely tasted pleasant. Lene nodded yes to his question.

"I hear her laugh at me. I hear her voice asking me questions she's never asked me before. I can feel her cold fingers clamp around my neck." Lene shivered.

Fleet nodded slowly, putting more pieces of the puzzle together. The bathroom door was heard opening, and a quite ill looking Ammy fell into a chair. Fleet pushed the other cup of tea her way. She took a sniff, growled at it, but took a sip. He had to chuckle. His family had become accustomed to him medicating them when needed to help them. His sharp, blue and brown eyes fell on Lene again.

"Lene, she isn't there. What you are suffering from is repressed memories. Mental trauma done to you when Takhesis took you. She is not after. We dealt with that problem." he encouraged Lene.

She wasn't buying it by the look on her muzzle. "If it's trauma or memories, make them go away dad. Use your magic." her voice held a note of a plea.

Fleet sipped his tea and let the room fall quiet. Ammy wasn't saying or making a sound, but that was to be expected. She could sneeze and fall out of the chair. Carefully, he rotated the tea cup in his paws, studying it.

"Lene, if I did that, what would you learn?" he asked.

Lene looked dumbfounded. "Learn?! I am scared to death, and you want me to learn?!"

That was an expected answer. Another sip of his green tea.

"Take another sip of your tea. It will help you to calm down, and rest. You look very ragged my precious one. I asked what would you learn if I took your bad memories away, and you answered like a typical scared rabbit. You're focused on your fear and the fear Takhesis is feeding your imagination. This is natural, and it's not your fault. It happens. But what is your fault is if you try to cover up the problem. Problems buried now, sprout seeds of misery and danger later. I want you to learn, young lady, from your problems. Not hide them." The doctoring voice was now out.

"How do you learn when you are constantly afraid?" she whined.

A slow deep breath was drawn into Fleet. Another sip of tea and then he explained.

"You must first learn to control your fear. Fear is what is feeding the nightmares. Once you stop fearing Takhesis, you can start laughing at her. When you can laugh at your fear, you have power over it, but remember, some fear is good for you. I want you to find out how to control this rampant fear as your first lesson. When you have found a way, come back to me, and we will deal with learning at how to sort out the memories, then how to laugh at the fear. And, Lene, stay as long as you want. We really miss having you."

Lene nodded slowly, still trying to understand what he meant about controlling the fear. Her mind was growing fuzzy, and few things seemed to matter anymore. She sipped more tea.

Fleet leveled a gaze on Ammy next. No one was escaping lecture time.

"Love, you have got to stop drinking alcohol. One funeral was enough, I will not bury you due to alcohol poisoning. Also, if you can't behave around Anya, may I suggest you just avoid her till you can get you're head on right? I know you said some things you're not proud of, but I am also sure they are truthful, just not tactfully handled. Same goes for what Anya yelled at you. Let her say you're a lousy mother. She's not had a single child yet. When she does, she'll be hard put to bring the same arguments to the table. Child rearing is not easy. I know, you two are my second family. Vuu's the only one left from my first family, and that was only because I was wise enough to hide him in a mountain monastery during the wars."

Ammy flinched, and sipped more tea. Her dull emeralds registered she'd heard what he said, but they also showed some fire from the rebuke. Temper. It was always her temper that did this. He'd fix that. He took Ammy's right paw. "Amythist Ciircii Taaliiss Nii Aalcii Nii Bliidreh Emeh."

A bracelet of pure amethyst beads appeared around her wrist. She glanced at it a little puzzled, and Fleet simply smiled.

"Do not take it off. Wear it all times. The amethyst will cleanse the energy touching you, and buffer your emotions leaving you calmer and clearer headed. It will also glow when in the presence of alcohol that you are in contact with. No more drinking." he firmly reiterated the last sentence.

Ammy sniffled once, and nodded. She was bound again by Fleet. He did this to her before, except it was a collar during the time of Chaotic. At least the bracelet looked lovely.

Fleet noted Lene had fallen quiet. Glancing to his daughter, she was out like a light, slightly snoring. Ah, the deep sleep of those too tired to dream. She'll have to dream again to stay healthy, but for now, she needed simple rest. He picked her limp form up and tucked her into bed, kissing both of her cheeks, an old Lupe tradition to ward off bad dreams. Maybe the old traditions weren't just dusty words.

Returning to the kitchen he chuckled. He found he had humor at the oddest times. Ammy was out as well, her body balance precariously on chair and table. He walked over and lifted her with a slight grunt. At least he could move this body. Back in the days when she had her automail legs and arm, it was like lifting a truck. He tucked her into bed as well, kissing both of her cheeks as well. Then he walked back to the kitchen and cleaned things up. Next was the bathroom. An hour later, he felt tired enough to sleep.

He sat in the recliner he used when he was very old, by the tiny hearth. He stared at the flames on thought on tonight's events. The ghostly image of his father appeared on the couch by him. Fleet just smiled. Since his return to youth, the ability to commune with souls came with ease now and the souls came to him readily. His father just smiled and looked at Fleet.

"Nice little family you have again, Fleetian. It's good to see you with a child and a wife. You look a bit disturbed though. Want to talk about it?" ghostly imaged flickered.

Fleet chuckled. Trust dad to give advice from the grave. "Just a bit tired and concerned with where my little family is headed. They take so much flack from the public, and then I come along and set things right. Where did I go wrong dad?"

The ghost wavered a moment in thought. "Remember that time I caught you dancing in air with dandelion seeds? You were so scared when you found yourself in the air and I caught you. Your mother and I thought we had that event covered up real tidy like, but well a few neighbors saw you. Soon we had Grand Alphrans showing up."

Fleet nodded. He remembered that day. It was the first time his magical powers manifested. "I do remember the visits. You always sent me out to play. I never knew why. Mom was always upset after the visits."

The ghost nodded. "We faced the same problem your little family is facing. Public concern for either the unknown, or the public dredging up old garbage. The visitors kept trying to tell me how to raise my family. You know what I told them son?"

Fleet grimaced. His father was an Erthrii who loved working the land, but he was also known as having one of the shortest tempers in Den Wolf as well as the biggest Axe. "What did you say to them?"

The ghost laughed hollowly. "I told them to mind their own Fen damned fields. My family may be small, and yeah, we have an odd ball son, but hell, we are still family. As long as we had each other, the others could go get their heads planted with the Rhubarb, and their tails strung up like clothes lines."

Fleet was laughing hard picturing all of this coming from Fleeran. He chuckled and knew what his dad was getting at. "So, I should simply forget about what the public views my family as? Just tell them to go get planted." he chuckled.

His eyes drifted to the two bedroom doors and Fleeran vanished. That was dad for you. Drop in for advice and once you had the lesson, he left.

"Our family is small, it may be broken, and not as shiny as others, but we are a family, come hell or high water. Raise one finger against them, and you will feel my fangs. My sword will cut surely, my magic will never fail to find thee. On this oath, I swear to keep my family together, healthy, happy, and proud." his voice took on a confirming tone.

Soon Fleet was asleep himself. A contented sleep most fathers felt when they knew everyone was home, safe, sound, and asleep.

A week had passed, and Lene took Fleets advice to heart. She had spoken with Lilli the Gypsy about a charm for keeping her nightmares at bay. Fur, Hair, her mothers old locket, and her whole sketchbook was given to Lilli to make the charm. Now she waited patiently for it to be made.

The nightmares didn't wait. The kept increasing, and Lene had a feeling that the nightmares were just a diversion. Takhesis was not staying in the nightmares. She was showing up ever so often just out of view. Anytime Lene would turn to see Takhesis, she wouldn't be there. Panic was settling more into her heart at the thought of that goddess being back in town.

She spoke with father again about the nightmares, what she had asked Lilli to do, and the figments she kept seeing. He would knit his furred brows together and after a long spell of silence instructed her to go swimming, and to focus just on swimming. Lene didn't understand what swimming would accomplish, but she followed his instructions to the tee. He was her father after all and knew more than she did.

She went swimming in the Lagoon at the Twilight Islands. It did make her forget about her troubles. She was now wet, and a bit cold. She never did like swimming much. She was more inclined to swimming in air currents. While drying off, she'd run into Alec, Sivanna's husband. She rarely chatted with him, but tonight, she decided to talk with him a bit. Funny what fear can make you do.

After explaining a few things, Lene had asked if Alec could see threads connected to people from other realms. Why did she ask? Tahkesis was sitting on the bar and dredging up the visions of horror Lene had so carefully buried. Alec had agreed to look and was quite surprised in telling her that Takhesis was attached to her still and that she had quite a story to tell sometime. But their pleasant conversation went south as Aunt Tacky, Takhesis' nickname by Anya, started getting possessive of Lene. A few power words of Pain were exchanged, and Alec, seeing firsthand the issues Lene was dealing with, managed to disconnect Takhesis from her for the time being. Lene was quite grateful for the help, and made a mental note to speak with Alec when he returned from a trip. He had offered to teach her a few things about Tau.

For one day she was free from Aunt Tacky, and the nightmares were just nightmares again. By now Lene knew that her father was getting more worried. He wasn't offering advice anymore, and Lene could only take that to mean that Fleet was at his limit of what to do for her. Sensing she was on her own again for answers. She stepped into Mom's library, and started researching multi realm links by deities. One or two tomes that were very old, and had faded red ink stamped across every page saying "Heresy!" The information contained was very helpful. Deities can only place a link on someone from another realm when that person was in the realm of the Deity.

Logically that would make since as to why Takhesis would have a link to her. She was a hostage, no, hostage was too light. An indentured student of the black arts was more correct. Though according to the tome, the link was only applicable to the form the person had in the realm of the Deity.

"Form of the person?" she said out loud to the large library. Doesn't everyone have only one form? No, that's not right either. Lycans could change form, so could vampires and a few mages she knew. Ah. She had the weakness of the link figured out not. Leaving the library, she walked into her bedroom and pulled out the acorn talisman Thorn had made for her. Slipping it on, she shifted to being a human. The nightmares dimmed, and she was able to sleep for a night.

Finding herself in a zone of safety, she left the Den and went to the Red Dragon Inn in the evening. She ran into Yejix and Lume. They were a bit surprised running into her in her human form. Collie was at the bar as well, so was this odd girl named Sitalkis. The night was going fine, till the power on the talisman ran out for that one use. Shifting back was always painful. Yejix offered to look at the talisman to find out why it was a time limit, and made a new talisman in the form of a wooden ring that would change size to fit her fingers regardless of form.

However, Lene, back in her natural form was a beacon to Takhesis. She found Lene in the Inn. The disconnection did not please her. Takhesis employed her usual lessons of Pain on Lene, but to the goddess' amusement, Lene refused to scream in pain. Leaving Lene in pain, Takhesis decided to hit a more vulnerable target. She went for Ammy Spiritor.

The attempted assault on Lene's mother didn't not go well at all. Takhesis found out first hand, that Ammy was now something more than just mortal. She was connected to the gates of Shamballa now, and no Deity could claim her. Worse, the Gates opened to protect Ammy and attacked Takhesis. The goddess barely made it out with her ethereal form intact. Fleet had also taken notice of the attack and showed up as well. The former chosen one to fill Paladins vacancy still held the holy power of the position, though it was not at full strength.

The goddess, denied her attack, returned to find Lene had gone a bit insane and attacked a wall. Takhesis started to laugh. She may have been foiled but she'd just plan something else, while the other Deities of Krynn squabbled over Lene. She did give Lene a parting message.

"You're family has been a thorn in my backside, but I'll just bide my time and heal. Don't think you can rest lightly, little Lene. The other Deities of Krynn now clamor and fight over you. They will be after you as well. Enjoy the small victory."

And so, Lene, back at home after the ordeal of the night, sat by the fire in her human form. Mother and Father reassured her they were safe, but Lene was still a target. Why would deities from another realm want her? What use was she to them? Lene needed more answers, and ways to protect herself from deities. Or should she be looking into ways to kill them?

Life had stole the gypsy away for a week's worth of time, but let it never be said such a creature could forget a bargain she'd struck.

In the witch's possession were a few key tokens; a locket, a sketchbook, a bit of fur, a curl of hair. All pieces to a complex puzzle, a charm for forgetting and remembering... Now that was a horse of a whole other color. Well, in this case Lupe, but that was just splitting proverbial hairs. There were other necessary, and each required a certain level of care. Deadly nightshade, boiled down amber, a bit of spiders venom, and the few other noxious things caustic to the skin and the soul. Lilliana was careful of each, mindful of the potency and more so, the reversing element to her charm.

What Myrlene needed wasn't a complete erasure, but a careful, precise series of scheduled unlocks for the horrors that'd befallen her tender life. With each 'new' bit of information to her memory would come the halo and illusion of years long passed to help numb and resolve the pain. Essentially, Myr would be receiving memories slowly, piece by piece, as though they were ones she had always had, but had already had a lifetime's worth of peace and serenity to filter them with.

Sometimes the fiercest wounds are more easily tackled one at a time, rather than scrambling to staunch the bleeding all at once.

The task before her was difficult, but the witch had not yet failed an endeavor she'd set out to do. Her sleeves had been pulled back, her bodice put away in favor of an easily ruined tunic already dabbed here or there with a few nasty stains. The bulky riot of her hair had found some semblance of taming through the clever tie of a leather thong and a quick murmur of magic to keep the stray curls from dangling down and teasing her intent gaze.

Tongue between her teeth, and sweat to her brow, Lilliana began her incorporations with all the delicate precision expected of any maestro facing a trickier challenge. The hair and fur were added in two measures, one first then the other, and vice versa; smoke plumed, and the witch was mindful of the fumes, ducking carefully as she fanned it's bulk with an owl's wing. Then the sketchbook... Aah, many a skillful piece to be found, but none as important as a dual portrait of the Lupe's mother and father. Seeing a smudge from a wayward paw pad as well on the far upper corner, she cooed her delight and carefully tore the page out. Pale limbs moved with measure, handling the weight of that locket as though it were a piece of glass rather than chain link and metal.

It was time.

As the air began to thicken, the witch's eyes seared from the fumes; watering, unblinking. Slowly, oh so slowly, she lowered the locket down into the bowl she'd placed her ingredients to, a soft murmur along the lush trail of her lips. There was a vibe about her as there was the entire area of her wagon in the glen; deep magic.

A sharp, hot jolt of warmth shot up Lilliana's arm from the chain of that pendant; she felt it morphing. It shrank, it bellied, it warped and twisted; reshaping into the charm she sought. Somehow, someway... Myrlene would forgive her, the witch thought, for the destruction of her precious keepsake.

For each evil that had befallen the Lupe, Myr would realize them all with this charm, but also hold the capacity to harbor them all without the curse of nightmares and unwanted visions. The wise age of an elder life all packed in the petite, gilded piece. Slowly but surely, she pulled the chain back up from the fog and smog of her work bowl to reveal a brilliant amber bauble faceted on the sleek, engraved facade of a book shaped locket. Two small reliquaries of the haze and liquid left from the ritual, as well as a minute, gilded key.

The smile that ticked into the dapper apple of her cheeks said it all; the young Lupe would find her salvation here in the charm, that much was for certain. Then again, all that cheer could be mildly delirium from the overabundance of deadly night shade fumes that'd burnt her eyes and filled her lungs.

Oh the walk to the Lupinosse Den would be an interesting one.

Lene was very grateful for the pendant Lilli had made for her. After a night or two of undisturbed rest, she was feeling much better not having to deal with nightmares.

Lene was still using her human form to confuse the deities of the Dragon Lance Realms, but she was starting to get the eerie feeling that the deities were catching on. Two weeks have passed and she had studied every book mother had, but was no closer to a solution for killing deities. Anytime she came close to the knowledge, dire warnings of what befalls those who disrupt the pantheons of another realm are made pointedly clear.

A few of her friends have offered to join her in the war against the gods, but one of them, Stiles Mornay, mumbled a question as to whether killing the gods of the Dragonlance Realms would cause Ragnorok for that realm.

Father remained tight muzzled on information about killing deities. He would remind her that deities have a place and function in every realm. Mother was busy with her business and research of the Jade Rose.

Lene found herself in the Southern Glenn, often alone pondering on her issues. She wanted action. She wanted revenge on Takhisis for causing so much trouble to her, her friends, and family.

Sitting on a large rock near the lake, she touched her left ear. In human form, it was still there. In her lupe form, it was gone. The ear was lost to a Sith in battle as she lost her temper and attacked him. Hmm. Temper. That was a key in a lot of her problems. Her temper was like a thunderstorm and could change like the seas. Maybe she should take a few calming classes?

As Lene pondered these issues. Something was approaching the Southern Glenn. Lene felt a shift in the magical currents of the Glenn and looked up to see someone in radiant armor, shining brightly. The closer the shining knight came the more Lene could see. It was a man, and on his breast plate was a platinum dragon crest. She tilted her head once.

"I have heard of you, but you can't be alive? You're Paladin." Lene stated in some awe. She wasn't affraid or worried as she wasn't quite sure that the god was real or just another figment.

The man in shining armor stopped before Lene and looked down at her, his platinum eyes boring into her gray ones.

"I was never dead, little one. I merely shed the mortal form I had taken during my self imposed exile to keep the pantheon balanced. Takhesis was banished to the gray realm beyond death. Since the Goddess of Darkness is gone, the pantheon was too strong in the light. Thus I took mortal form and wondered the world of Krynn. That form aged and passed on. I simply left the realms to keep the balance intact. I am disturbed that Takhesis has come to you and made you her envoy. I do admire the courage you have shown, and the fear as well." his voice boomed lightly, and his armor flickered with every word.

Lene couldn't stop staring into his eyes. She was seeing herself in those molten pools of platinum and everything good, evil, and neutral were revealed. The evilness of her temper and revenge was swirling like a deadly storm in her life. Paladin, knowing she was seeing her life spoke more.

"Takhisis has wronged you and those you love, but that is the course of evil. The only way to see the light in your darkest hours is to seek it out and run from the darkness. Revenge and hate, this is not becoming of the daughter of the Platinum Fang."

Eyes not leaving Paladins eyes, Lene stammered. "Father is no longer a deity. He forfeits those duties for me and mother, and how can I keep seeking light when darkness keeps shrouding me in misery, pain, and death of those I love? How can you say revenge and hate do not suit one who received training by Takhesis hands?"

Paladin closed his eyes breaking contact with Lene's, and shook his head slowly.

"You're father did indeed forfeit the position I bestowed on him, but he is stilled marked by me and protected by my powers for now. However, Lene, you have a soul of your own. You are not locked to evil as Takhesis is. Yes, you have been shrouded in darkness, and you will lose more loved ones. This is a normal fact of being mortal. No one is meant to live for eternity. You can redeem yourself from the teachings of Takhesis, but it will take everything you have to do so. You must resist the evil of your temper, your anger, and the need for revenge. Seek justice, happiness, joy, and life. Abandon your search for the destruction of the gods, for if you destroy Takhesis, you will take her place."

Lene was stunned by the latter part of Paladins words. "I would take her place? Why? I am not evil!" she shouted at the god.

"Killing is evil. Killing in defense is a forgivable evil. Killing a god is pure evil and is not forgivable. Those who kill a god must take the gods power unto themselves and take that gods position. You seek war against Takhesis and win, you will be evil and be the new goddess of darkness. Is this what you want?"

Lene lowered her head. "No. I do not wish to be known as evil. I just wish to live in peace with those I love and not be bothered by evil. I just do not see how I can look away from evil when it harasses me. I see no solution."

Paladin sighed deeply as if this was not the first time he has had a doubtful young one.

"There in lies your problem. You wish to see a solution. To fight evil, a solution is not visible, but within you. You must learn to face evil, ignore it, or counter it with patience, temperance, and love. I will give you an aide for learning how to defeat evil."

Lene tilted her head at the god and what he said. Before she could ask what he meant by an aide, Paladin transformed into his holy form. A large, splendid, platinum colored dragon appeared where the god had stood. It's radiance shown brightly in the Glen, bathing the entire area in a white light.

"Look upon the pure light of goodness. Let is seep into your mind. Compare everything to it, and act as one would act if they were kind. Learn how to still your mind, slow your pace, smother your anger. I will leave you now to learn how to become more tempered. I will return when I believe you have learned your lessons. You will be assaulted by the other gods, but you have many allies young one."

The dragon form vanished, but the god did not. He was still standing in front of Lene, but she would not see him. She would not see anything until she learned how to defeat evil. She was blinded by the holiness of Paladin, her gray eyes now turned silvered and unseeing.

Lene panicked and flailed about. Paladin approached her and laid a hand on her shoulder gently. Soon she felt herself sitting in the Red Dragon Inn and hearing Paladins voice fading away.

"You say you can not see a solution, therefore to aid you I have removed your sight. The solution to your problems are not visible but within you. Learn to depend on loved ones, learn to find strength and courage in what you can do. Learn to keep yourself still and listen. Learn to temper your anger with patience, temper revenge with justice. Once you have learned all of these things, I will return your sight to you. None may remove your blindness for it is marked with the seal of the Platinum Dragon. Now then Lene, rest. I will always be watching from afar, but will not meddle any farther."

Paladin's voice went silent, and Lene was left in a world of darkness, sitting in a chair at the Inn.

((Just a quick note of thanks to JM mun, Fleet mun, Ammy mun, Fen mun, and Kuro mun for helping flesh out this battle.))

The Southern Glenn was quiet tonight. Soft chirping of crickets could be heard, as well as rustling of night predators on the hunt. The moon was a sliver of silver in the night sky, reminiscent of a curved dagger slashing out into the night. The lake reflected the sliver of moonlight weakly. This was a night when most feel their magic wane, feel the darkness encroach on the living world. This was a night to be inside behind locked doors. Then weave of energy felt wrong. The Gods were angry and nature knew it.
In the sky, something shimmered blue in the scant light. One might say it was a comet, but as it arced suddenly and fell to the earth it was no comet, but a creature, with iridescent blue feathers. It landed swiftly on the slick grass, snapping out a peel of thunder from the landings impact. Glowing blue eyes opened in the darkness. The ground began to freeze near the being.
Fleet slowly stood up, wings flaring out and flapping twice before folding. Sniffing the air as his breath showed, his glowing ice blue eyes closed once in a slow blink. "Return unto me, powers of Paladin that I might shine brightly, and bring justice to a wrong that has been done." his voice intoning these words, letting them chime through the night to tug light from the stars. Starlight sifted through the sky and dusted Fleet, turning his dark gray fur, blue feathers, and well worn armor into glowing platinum. A circular crest of a large canine fang appeared on his breast plate. The Platinum Fang had arisen once more.
Clasping both paws together, he prayed. Praying was unusual for a Lupinossai. They had no gods, even if Fleet had tried to be one. "I beseech thee, Lighted One, Dragon Of Light, God of the Pure, Foe of Takhesis. Come forth. Your envoy seeks a hearing with thee over a grave injustice. The blinding of Myrlene, my daughter has been brought to my attention. You had no right." Growling ensued with the last of the prayer.
From the trees, a man in radiant, platinum armor with a platinum dragon crest on his breastplate appeared. "I had no right?? he uttered in plain amusement. ?Your daughter plots revenge on my sister, and though I loathe what she does, I cannot exist without her. Dark balances the light, light balances the dark. I blinded Myrlene to bring her to the light. To fill the vacancy you opened Fleet. You failed me as an envoy and turned away for your family. You stepped away from the light. Maybe Lene will cling to it closer."
Fleets muzzle rippled into a snarl. "I stepped away for my family's sake! They were being pulled into the darkness. Don't go telling me I left you. You exiled yourself when Takhesis was exiled. Bringing me in would have tipped the scales of balance in lights favor. Now Takhesis is after Lene to balance the pantheon again. Lene did not deserve to be blinded just to teach her temper anger and revenge. What kind of muudraa is that? She is just a young girl and already the gods of Krynn fight over her. Restore her sight!"
"You exceed your grace with me Platinum Fang. Remember it is I who give you your power. Demanding my reversal and denial of an envoy of Light is deemed evil" Paladin took an imposing stance and his armor shone brilliantly, attempting to blind Fleet.
Fleets wings snapped up and covered him, reflecting the holy aura back at Paladin. "You forget I have your powers as well, and until I willingly give them up, I retain them as well as my great grand father Lupis' powers. I have been remade and am no longer frail. I will demand what I wish as Lene is my daughter, not yours. When have you ever known love, or known a family! When? Never. You gods have become distant, cold, and uncaring. Lene would have found the answer with the right guidance.
[ Casting her into darkness is folly! You have fallen into darkness Paladin. You are not a god of Light, but a god of need. You want to be back in Krynn, but as long as Takhesis is exiled, you have to find a proxy. The same is true for Takhesis. Me and my daughter tire of this game!"
The ground shook under Paladin as he spoke. "Your powers are paltry compared to mine. Do you really wish to attack me, foolish one?" Paladin?s gauntlet fell to the hilt of his sword and unsheathed a blindingly bright broadsword. Thunder peeled and lightning cracked as the blade was unsheathed. He pointed the tip of the sword at Fleet. "Come Platinum Fang, and you will learn your foolishness."
Fleet remained where he stood, his vorpal katana still sheathed. "Why should I attack? My demand is simple. Put aside your pride and remove the blindness. If you force me to draw my blade, you will not only fight me, but my kin." He crossed his arms.
"You are foolish to bring others into our own affairs Platinum Fang." He said solemnly. "I will not reverse the blindness. Lene will be mine. Would you rather have her be a puppet of Takhesis, or a loyal envoy to me?"
Red eyes glowed in the darkness off to Fleets right side. Out of the darkness, and image from a nightmare stepped forward. Fen was resplendent in gnarled, blackened armor of the Ebon Knight. Demon horns adorned his lupine head, and Golem Slayer was in his paws. Fen emerged into the light of the two gods auras. "How about we have Lene stay a free willed girl and make her own choices. The light and the dark can work together." He stood by Fleet.
Paladin?s helmed head shifted to take in Fen. "I have heard of you. The famed Ebon Knight of the Abyss. You rival Takhesis and you take his side? What game do you play foul one?" His sword point shifted to Fen.
:::Mokkie had woken in bed, restless with the nearness of her due date, well, her overdue date to be exact, and when Fen had proved to be absent from their bed and their home and his presence had felt so...obscured, she had followed the link she felt to him to stumble upon this.....confrontation.:::
Fen?s red eyes played over Paladin. "I play no game, tin for brains. Lene is my god daughter. I made an oath to the Platinum Fang to protect her at all costs, but I too have a family. When you blinded Lene, my oath came into play. I'd rather not be hurt in this damned game of balance, but so be it. I will not stand by and watch other gods come into this realm to wreak havoc. I stand, darkness remade in light to fight with Fleet. Prepare yourself, pampas one." Fen raised Golem Slayer. Soul gems embedded in the giant great sword glowed eerily.
Fleets voice broke in with calmness. "Will you yield to my demand? Remove the blindness and we will let you return to your lands of Krynn. We do not want war, but messing with our kin is tantamount to messing with us." Fleet remained standing, wings were now outstretched.
::::Mokkie, seeing and hearing her adopted kin and bonded husband preparing to confront a god, she let out a small gasp, clamped her hands on her belly to calm the kicking the twins were setting up and sank down onto the nearest horizontal surface:::
Paladin lowered the tip of his sword for a brief moment. "Very well then, I shall bring justice to the two of you. I will not release the blindness. Attack me, and it will be permanent. This I swear on my aura." Paladins voice boomed. It was an oath that would permanently blind Lene. No magic, medicine, or miracle would be able to heal it.
Fen?s growled a question to Fleet. ?Do we risk Lene's sight?" he asked hesitantly.
Mokkie shouted out, ?Fleet, Fen...NOOO!?
Fleet's wings lowered slightly as he thought this through. "Yes. We do Fen." He raised his glowing blue eyes to meet Paladins. "You misunderstand the blood of the Wolf Den. We fight for our kith and kin, and we all have felt the sting and pain of sacrifice. Lene will learn to adapt to her world of darkness if that means granting her eternal freedom from you. I ask of you one last time. Release the blindness. Do not force us down a one way path when so many roads are open. Open your damn mind!"
Mokkie pleaded, her voice wafting into the booming voices. ?Take my sight.....take my sight, my eyes, give them to Lene....the twins will be my eyes once they are born!?
Fen clenched his jaws once. The decision was made. Hearing Mokkie, Fen looked in panic seeing his mate on the sidelines. "Mokksha stay away from us." Fen moved behind Fleet to insure he was between Paladin and her.
Paladin looked to Mokksha. "You carry life in you. Do not be rash to sacrifice the joys your twins will bring to your eyes. You are not part of this conflict. You will be spared.? Then he turned to look at Fen and Fleet. ?Both of you are trying my patience."
"Better make that three, glow stick." A large double gate rose from the ground, a large eye looked at Paladin. The gates opened and a hoard of hissing and screaming was heard. Tendrils flailed at the threshold. Ammy stepped out of the chaos, glowing with an orange light. "Lene is my daughter, not yours. You fight my mate, you fight me as well. We have you out numbered, and I will be happy to feed you to mother just like I tried to feed Takhesis to her. Your sister was smart enough to leave."
:::Mokkie groaned with the next round of kicks the twins set up, they wanted to defend their kin too and her knees gave way as she sank back down:::
Paladin was now glancing at three gods facing him. The sword tip lowered for a moment, "You are the one who severely injured Takhesis? With your power the light could reign supreme in the lands of Krynn. Come to me, and follow my Light!" Paladin?s voice thundered at Ammy, trying to compel her to be allied with him.
Ammy simply snorted in disgust. "Not interested. Mother is very kind to me. I don?t need your flimsy powers." she snapped her fingers and the gates closed. Ammy stepped forward taking up the right side of Fleet as Fen had moved to the left side shielding Mokkie. "Give Lene her sight back and I won?t beat your tin plated ass from here to Krynn." her emerald eyes were shining brightly.
Paladin?s patience had finally worn thin. "Fools, all of you are fools. I wish to save my realms by removing the darkness. It has dominated the winds of change for too long. I will have your daughter once you all lay lifeless and your souls are resting in the bliss of the beyond." His broadsword snapped up in an honorary salute.
"Shit!" Fen drew on ancient magic long forgotten. "Writhing despair of those who cry in agony, spill your tears of pain on the creature of light. Bracknum Rakka Shartruum!" He glowed red. Drops of blood rained down on Paladin.
Paladin took three steps back as the rain of blood hissed, bubbling his armor. "Foul demon, taste my light of judgment. Bring Thy Rotting Flesh To Rest!" his voice cracked the sky with lightning and thunder. A lance of pure white light streamed for Fen, intent on running the Lupe through and killing him.
::::Mokkie screamed in terror and distress for her mate and instinctively threw a force shield between him and the bolt:::
Fen had no time to react to the attack. His own spell was pulling power keeping him anchored for the moment in concentration until the blood rain ends.
Sensing Mokksha raising the shield, but knowing the attack was lethal if it broke the barrier, Fleet stepped in front of Paladin and added his shielding wings to protect Fen. "Paladin, you light will not harm me and I will step between you and everyone here if I must. Do you really wish to rely on magic, or do you wish to fight like a man?"
"Men fight and die. I fight and conquer." He charged for Fleet raising his broadsword in an arcing high attack.
A resounding clap was heard, breaking the swelling tempest of ego. The ground erupted with dark crystal spikes attached to thick demon vines. Ammy was crouched touching the ground. "Stay away from my husband!" she moved her paws controlling the vines like puppets as they lashed out at Paladin.
Vuu appeared silently in the woods, hearing the conflict. With him, was an unseeing Lene. She had one arm around him to guide her steps. He spotted Mokksha and noted the battle was in full swing. He led Lene over to Mokksha.
Lene walked with Vuu relying on him to guide her. Feeling him sit her down, and sensing Mokksha was near, she realized that Mokksha was helping defend Fen.
::::Mokkie nodded abstractedly to Lene and Vuu, but did not speak, she was concentrating on shielding without doing anything else to interfere....she was the only truly mortal one here and she was going to try to keep all the deities here off of her ass for interfering where she'd been told not to, by not really interfering too much:::
Paladin readjusted his aim and sent the broadsword slicing through the vines, though a few dark crystals tore at his armor. "A futile attack you wretched female!" He pointed at Ammy. "Exaltation!" The ground erupted with energy ripping the ground apart with a chasm heading for Ammy.
Ammy quickly rolled out of the way of the hungry chasm. "That wasn't an attack but a distraction!"
Seeing Paladin shift his focus, Fleet unsheathed his vorpal katana in a pure Batosai fashion, slicing for Paladins middle to end this quickly.
The look on Paladin?s face was priceless. "What?" hearing Ammy, he barely noticed the blindingly fast attack of Fleet. Broad sword was brought down hard to counter, but Fleet's blade skipped off of the broad blade and the vorpal energy sank into Paladins right shoulder. He roared in pain and pulled back. Blue blood trickled down the armor turning black in the blinding platinum glow.
Paladin in pain, Fen readied another attack. "Rending Claws of Laasuul. Ravage his soul, Demon of Chaos!" the Golem Slayer glowed Violet as a large purple soul gem glowed. A massive ethereal dragon of stars and chaos erupted from his blade and shrieked for Paladin.
Vuu kept a watchful guard on Mokksha and Lene. "Are you alright, Mokksha?" his voice whispered through the muzzle.
In a flash of light, Paladin transformed from Knight to Dragon and brought his glistening fangs down hard on the neck of the Chaos dragon, killing it instantly.
Mokkie focused on keeping her shielding on Fen and whimpered a reply::: more or less Vuu.....:::though her forehead was beaded with sweat and her lips were tense with strain and her belly appeared to be fluctuating with the twins forcible kicks:::
Vuu nodded to Mokkie. "Lene, throw a force shield about 30 ft to your right to protect Fen. Mokksha needs rest." he instructed softly. Tactician was coming out now.
When Mokkie heard Vuu's voice, she prepared to drop the shield as soon as Lene took over:::
Lene nodded unseeingly. "Okay." Force flowed from Lene and she pinged everyone with a Force wave to locate people. Sensing the shield Mokksha had up, she layered her shield right behind Mokksha's.
Ammy touched the ground and pulled a large lance of dark crystal from the ground. Spinning it once for a balance test, she charged the Paladin Dragon. "In life or death, I offer my life in barter for success. Spear of Shambalaa!" she lunged putting her full weight and momentum into the lance aiming for Paladins side.
The spear caught Paladin by surprise and he felt seething hot crystal pierce his scales, but the weapon was not strong enough to go deep. He bled blue blood, but it was minor. He brought a massive clawed paw down to snap the crystal lance.
Vuu took off his muzzle as he saw Ammy was in trouble.
When the lance snapped Ammy rolled clear with the impact of the weapon breaking. She darted forward, she needed to get close. She would try to deconstruct parts of Paladin?s body.
:::Mokkie dropped the shield and gasped for breath, feeling the relief of ceasing the effort and rubbing her hands over her belly to soothe the twins:::
Seeing Ammy's path Fen intoned an assistance spell. "Strength of the damned, shield her body!" He threw a swirling globe of energy to envelope Ammy to keep her safe.
Fleet saw Ammy dart by and panicked. The last time this happened she died. "Excelsior Blast!" Katana pointed right for Paladins chest, he unleashed the biting cold of ice and holy power combined. If it hit, it would lock Paladin in place.
:::Mokkie covered her mouth with both hands to keep from crying out nearly seeing her kith and kin getting killed in front of her::
Besieged on all sides, Paladin let out an Aura Roar. "Cry of Justice!" the ground rumbled and cracked as the platinum dragon let loose a roar that sent a blasting sound wave ripping through the Southern Glenn.
The sound blast caught Ammy by surprise and flung her back hard. She crashed into a tree and fell hard.
Fleet's attack was disrupted and it scattered, pelting Fen, bouncing off the Force shield Lene had up.
"Father, your of the same affinity as Paladin. Use your sword!" Vuu shouted.
"Right!" Fleet was an idiot sometimes. "Luupinious Flaas!" Fleet lunged forward with lightning speed, vorpal katana swinging horizontally, aiming for Paladins large knees.
Ammy stirred. The shield Fen had on her taking the brunt of the damage. She rubbed her back and rethought her strategy.
:::Mokkie whimpered at all the yelling and rubbed both hands more rapidly over her rippling belly::: come on sweetlings, calm down.....now is not the time to want to come out and help daddy!
Fen rubbed his jaw for a brief second. "Hmm. Maybe I should dig deep, R\really deep." He sunk Golem Slayer into the ground. His ebony armor glowed green as he sent his energy deep into the ground. "Legions of the Fallen Slayers, Arise! Seize the Platinum dragon!" Hoards of Armored Phantoms rose from the Glen. Each held lances. They roared and charged Paladin.
Paladin snorted slightly, he pivoted slamming a heavily scaled tail at Fleets attack.
Kuro swore he heard people in the Glen. He would be seen wearing his black armor with blue trim, with lavender partial armor along legs and arms that separates the chest armor, waist armor, and boots.::
Charging lupe became flying lupe as the tail smashed into the Platinum Fang. Fleet thought briefly in mid air, that he must be nuts for attacking his predecessor.
:::Mokkie continued murmuring to the twins in her belly trying to calm them, desperately not wanting their entrance to the world to be now whilst all her kith and kin were battling an enraged Paladin::::
Paladin turned to the charging phantoms. "Rest and Be Gone Unhallowed Spirits!" the hoard vanished into white dust.
Fleet landed with a rattling thump. He stood up and was in pain. One wing was snapped. Raising his katana, he removed the wing with a howl of pain. The wing would grow back in time. The fight was not going as planned. Not with Paladin in this form.
Vuu shouted again. "Lances! Someone find a Dragon Lance! Even Paladin is subject to the lance!"
Kuro has never seen so many Lupe in one spot before. His eyes go wide as he sees a massive dragon of light assaulting ones he calls friends. Namely Fleetian and Ammy. He hears a calling for a Dragon's Lance..::
"Dragon Lance won?t do. Paladin blessed them. But I know what will." he ripped open space and time and grabbed a dark Dragon Lance. Blessed by Takhesis. "Ammy! Catch and multiply!"
"Oi! Fleet!" Kuro rushes towards him, his black and blue armor shifting into that of a Fire Dragoon's. Hand snaps out to the side as Black King, in its Advance Form materializes in his hand. It looks like a combination of monk's spade, spear, and halberd.
Ammy nodded and caught the lance. She clapped her paws and glowed white. A second dark lance appeared then a third, then a fourth, then a fifth. She tossed one back to Fleet, one to Fen, and one to the new arrival Kuro.
Vuu jumped in glee. "Now you have a tactic! Flank and rush!"
Lene was starting to pant heavily. The attacks were working the shield hard and she also felt Mokksha and her delimma by her. Not a good time to be blind.
"Ammy! I have your Flatspace ready. I'll fork it over after this dance." Kuro gave a wolfish grin, to equal true wolfish grins.
Fen ran to his left to flank Paladin.
"If I survive!" Ammy shouted as she rushed to the right seeing Fen and making a pincer move.
"Nobody dies on my watch." Kuro flies right at the massive dragon of light, and suddenly goes skyward. Feet are planted on the sides of his spear and he plummets towards its massive body like a meteor.
"Aunt Mokkie, I don't think this is a safe place for either of us. Let me take you and the twins home, please?"
Fleet grabbed the lance that was tossed to him.
Paladin took note of the flying Kuro. In a blink he is in human knight form and his broad sword of light is brought into a guard to block the leaping attack.
Lene opened a portal for Mokksha to the clinic. The mother was too close to delivery time for this much chaos.
:::Mokkie, with a groan and a clasp of hand to belly, her other hand brought out her magicked portal mirror and she activated it and stepped through murmuring to Lene and Vuu beside her:: ward my Fen if you can....I think the twins are coming...I am going home to the clinic.....if anything happens....tell him I love him.
"I will try Mokksha.", whispered Lene.
Kuro?s spear comes into collision with blade. He kicks off the air and lands in a back flip spear forward in the engaurd stance.
"Crap! He shifted!" Ammy lunged with dark lance for his flank.
"..My name is Kuro Inzen-Zabiru. You made my friend go blind. Prepare for a whoppin'." ::He growls.::
Fen mirrored Ammy's attack.
"Lene, did Paladin curse your eyes? Actually curse them?" Vuu asked suddenly. A thought came to his mind.
"Yes." Lene was still keeping the Force shield around Fen and was now raising others to defend the others fighting Paladin.
Vuu had a plan.
:::Mokkie, with her hands still cradling her roiling belly and the twin lives within she stepped through the portal with one last look at her beloved spouse and her adopted kin:::
Paladin grunted and readied another attack. "I apologize if Lene is your friend, but I need my envoys!" He roared and swung his broadsword around his body fending off the two lances striking his flank.
"Kuro, give me a boost!" Fleet howled, charging right for the Dragoon. His dark lance was spinning impossibly fast.
Kuro makes his move. His spear goes in for a slash towards Paladin's back, a war-cry yelled. As he makes his revolution, He thrusts his hand towards Fleetian, Uttering a spell upon his lips. The swords wolf would find himself moving at three times the speed he is now, with plenty of kinetic energy behind him to use in a heavy blow.
The slash from Kuro finds its way past Paladins sword and gashes his platinum armor. Blue blood stained the ground. "Salvations Fury!" he shouted shoving a massive blast of holy energy at Kuro.
Getting sped up, Fleet launched straight out horizontally, intent on pinning Paladin with the dark dragon lance.
"..Oh crap." ::Kuro assumes a guarding stance, a hastily made shield of blue, psychokinetic light protecting him from nearly half the force, sending some right back at Paladin in retaliation. His shield shatters, and the rest of it scalds him, throwing him back several yards. He lets out a groan as he gets up.::
"Press in Fen! We have him close!" Ammy made for a quick biting lunge of lance at Paladins legs.
Fen swung the lance tip for Paladins injured right shoulder.
"..Balls to this!" Kuro shouted. He rips off his armor, it turning into red light and sucking back into himself. Kuro stands there in a white beater shirt and his suit pants and shoes, right arm of Automail exposed and crackling with intense Psi Energy. Sparkles of red, gold, and blue light begin to radiate off of him as he readies a heavy attack.
Paladin was now in trouble. Fleet was coming in too fast to counter, and Ammy's attack just nipped his left leg while Fen clipped his bleeding right shoulder. A cracking sound was heard, an Fleet was sent tumbling head over tail into a tree. His dark Dragon Lance busted off in Paladins chest.
The cracking of the lance and the collision with the tree winded Fleet and he was down for a few seconds.
Kuro takes a risk and rushes Paladin, his metal arm a blazing glory of prismatic light... He just has to get in..or else Gospel, an emotion-based PSI arte will not make it as it's delivery method is a heavy punching blow.
Paladin roared a piercing roar, thunder and lightning crackling through the sky. He was severely injured in mortal form. He had to shift. Paladin began to shift from human to dragon form and howled in pain as Kuro's punch caught him in mid shift.
Ammy stepped in, shoving the spear for Paladins side, not to kill, but to pin! It.. could be said that Kuro is a man who does not care if he lives or dies. It can be said he's obsessed with machinery. It can be said he's clinically insane. When he delivers his punch, a massive explosion of raw Emotion Energy domes over them both, as many more rapid-fire punches find their way into Paladin's torso. He does not care if he is killed in the counterattack. He's done his repentant deed.::
Fen worked to keep his lance firmly in the wounded right shoulder, the evil energy of Takhesis in the lance would hurt like hell.
Kuro does not notice, or even cares that his own psychic powers are killing him as he assaults Paladin with the fury of a hundred angels scorned. He does not care that his body is burning into black nothing... he keeps attacking.::
Paladin was in hell. The blows from Kuro worked the broken lance deeper into his body, the vile lances from Ammy and Fen kept him pinned. He was losing strength rapidly.
"Arcuums Razor!" he shouts. A blast of pure holy light erupts from him as the epicenter to throw any back that he could.
Lene groaned and slumped. The blast hit all the shields she was feeding and overloaded her.
Kuro doesn't care that his legs have been blown off again. Even as he gushes blood from his now severed lower half, He lets out a yell of fury, so terrible, so.. horrifying, that one could call it the Death Scream of Taera. He does not know to stop. Hidden features, once disguised as human become apparent. the venomous teeth, the ears. the gills. the scales. the poison stings in their arms.::
Ammy?s lance snaps and the long, broken head flies back and pierces her left shoulder digging deep, flooding her with dark magic from Takhesis. The blast sends her to a tree where she hung from the broken lance keeping her nailed to the tree.
"I WILL AVENGE MY FRIEND! YOU WILL NOT EXTERMINATE MY FURY!" screamed Kuro.
The blast hits Fen hard, sending power right into his core. It separated his demon soul from his normal soul and carried the demonic powers away. Fen collapsed on the ground.
Rising from his landing place, Fleet watched Kuro sacrifice himself. "Another soul lost for us. Not again." Cracking his back he slapped paws together. "Fangs of the Forefathers! Hammer Spark!" a rippling blast of Soul energy slams out at Paladin. He is trying to separate Kuro from the god.
-Kuro goes flying, Blue blood trailing him as he flies in a graceful arc, legless and thankfully not manless to the ground near Fleet.-
Paladin was shoved away from Kuro. He had no choice. The god was a bloody mess. Severely beaten, but not dead, he tried to rise.
Fleet stepped forward. His form had changed. he was no longer glowing platinum, but electric blue. Kuro landing at his feet gave him pause. He wanted to kill the god for harming his daughter.
Kuro growls. Paled from his injuries, he tries crawling after Paladin, blood drunk.::
Vuu?s muzzle long gone, and the energy of the Glenn now charged to maximum energy, Vuu stepped in. "Enough! Cease and Be Still!" his voice brought the energy to attention blowing craters in the ground and cowling any with the massive amounts of raw power he held. "Father Stand Down! Paladin, Do not Rise!" he barked these orders.
Fleet was suddenly shoved into a kneeling position. His body forced to obey Vuu, his son.
Kuro ceases movement, mainly out of the power he felt from that voice.::
Paladin was locked one knee. "How...can... you....command...me...?" he rasped.
"I am Vuusoolta, son of Fleet, heir to the true deity of Lupinoss. Your energy gives me the keys and prison to bind you! You have harmed my step sister. Cursed her blind! Will you remove the curse? You have been beaten" He pointed a clawed finger at Paladin.
Ammy coughed a few times. She tasted blood in her mouth and glanced up. She saw Fleet's son stepping in. She felt proud to call him her stepson then she faded into blackness again, the pain knocking her out.
Paladin glared at Vuu. "Never! If I cannot have her as me envoy, no god will have her as a whole vessel. She will remain blind for eternity. I curse her eyes with my blood!" he spat blue blood on the unconscious form of Lene. The platinum dragon crests in her pupils burned in permanently, sealing her eyes shut, making her eyes platinum in color to remind those who did the curse.
"..I reject your curse." Kuro wearily holds out his Dragoon Soul.:: "I would sacrifice the honor bestowed upon me by the Ruby Dragons...and forfeit my right to flames..to save this one.." ::he coughs up copious amounts of blood, but maybe, only fleet would hear his dying voice. "I'd give my own soul to save her. Take me instead.." ::he slowly crawls towards Lene..::
Too late, the curse had been made, the blindness set.
"Paladin, Dragon of Light, God of the Light, you have broken your own rules. You have cursed a mortal, an act only fit for an evil deity. By this right, do I bind you to serve in misery, pain, and eternal torment! I sentence you to eternal damnation. Rise Death Knight Paladin. You are banished to the Gray to serve your sister Takhesis. By banishing you, I hereby banish your ties with this realm. Your kind will never return, Ever!"
Fleet, seeing Vuu had Paladin in hand, heard Kuro. "No. It is not your time. You have many more people to know, protect, and love." Reaching out he touched Kuro and spoke the words he said long ago to save another dying person, Fen. "I offer my body to restore the health and life of this man. Take of me as you wish." The double gates open and Fleet bites back a howl in pain, his right arm and right leg are now gone, taken. Kuro would be restored, whole and healed.
Vuu looked at the crawling Kuro. "What is done is done. My sister has her part to play, you do as well." Then he turned to look at Paladin. "May your sentence of a Death Night Begin!"
Kuro screams in time with Fleet, his prosthetic arm blasting away from his body, and every bit of metal ripped from his small frame..his limbs growing back piece by piece.:: "Why.. Why do you stop me..? Why do you heal me..?"
"Because, I am a healing god, you twit." Fleet muttered.
Yejix would emerge with a gorgeous woman in his arms in a lover's embrace from shadows in broad daylight. He gently sets her down on her feet, and looks for Kuro in a panic.
Paladin screamed in horror and pain. The platinum armor burned and blackened, twisting and sprouting thorns. His shining light was shifting from white to red. The Glenn was rocking and cracking. When a mortal was cursed to be a Death Knight, it was a sight. But when a god of light is cursed, realms quake.
Hina was still a bit surprised about leaving her shop and appearing, where were they? She looks around. She quickly would take the scene in before her.::
Kuro looks upon his re-grown limbs.. his own..flesh and blood..for so long he had relied on his Automail..:: ".......Thank you."
Yejix?s ears tilt to the direction of his nephews voice, and he would pick the lad up, despite him being 3 inches taller than he, and hug him close, crying.:: "You're alive.. You're Alive.."
"Rise Lord Paladin. Your mistress Takhesis awaits her new toy. Take with you the message that any of you return to this realm, I will personally knight you all with your backsides!" Vuu commanded icily.
Kuro hangs limp in his Uncle's arms, unconscious and bloody from battle. Perhaps.. he did achieve glory in some strange way.::
Hina?s hands rise to her lips and she gasped out. Quickly, she follows after Yejix, moving as fast as possible to be by Yejix's side and his nephew.:: Is he alright? ::Was that Fleet? Squint.::
"You stupid, stupid boy..I thought I raised you better than to run in like a damn fool hero.." ::Yejix sets him on the ground..and looks to Hina.:: "Yes, dear.. This.. This is Kuro Inzen-Zabiru.. My Nephew.. who I have raised as a Son ever since his parents died."
Red eyes now glowed and the power and might of Paladin was gone. The gods of Krynn would drop silent now. They had no god of light anymore nor of the dark. Both permanently removed. Their lands were in balance. Lord Paladin walked away and vanished. A lightning crack and a blast of thunder that rocked the realm was heard. All ties of all the Krynn deities to this land was now gone.
"..Had.. Had I known, Fleetian.. that much blood would be shed this day.. I would have come sooner." Kuro Looks down at the ground in utter shame.::
The pain ebbed slightly, and Fleet looked down. Well, looks like he'll be getting used to automail again. He saw Ammy pinned to a try by a dark lance. Her left shoulder and her arm, no, what was left of the arm as the evil ate away at the arm and worked on her body. He dragged himself over to her as quickly as he could with just his left arm and leg.
Hina nodded to Kuro, looking him over in hopes that he's alright. She then gives a small smile to Fleet while she trails a fang over her bottom lip. Quickly she made off after Fleet in order to help in any way possible.:: Let me help you.
Feeling the energies ebb, Vuu replaced his muzzle and went about checking those who were down. He knelt by Fen. "Wake." he whispered.
"..What can I do to help?" ::Yejix looks around:: "I have my medicines on my at all times.."
Fen started at the touch and sat up. His amber eyes bright and no longer haunted. "I'm alive?"
"Thank you Hina. Help me to Ammy. Takhesis' power is in that lance and it is eating her body." Fleet instructed.
Vuu looked to Yejix. "Check Lene. She was shielding everyone with Force shields."
Kuro tries to get back up::
Hina nods and helps Fleet up with her support. Slowly she takes him over to Ammy while she speaks. What happened Fleet? Jeze.. You know you can call me if you need me.
A look back down to Fen. "Yes. Alive, and I might say, finally at peace. Paladins blast has destroyed your demon soul. You are free now."
Yejix runs towards his friend, Angered at himself in a fury worthy of Satan himself.:: "Lene..?" ::He sends out a Psi Ping towards her to get her attention.::
"Long..." gasp..." Story." Fleet replied to Hina.
Hina set Fleet next to Ammy and spoke. Tell me what to do Fleet. ::She said as she snapped her fingers, a crimson and gold glow forming around her hands like a glove.::
The ping roused Lene. She slowly sat up rubbing her head.
"Pull out the lance. Then we can reverse the evil." Fleet guided.
Hina nodded, reached out, and removed the lance, letting it land behind her while she spoke.:: Holy magics right? That's the way to reverse it?
Lene opened her eyes.
"Your assistance may be need Fen. I must go. That much power has given me one hell of a headache." and with that Vuu walked away.
"Hey, Lene.. You alright?", Yejix asked.
The world was still dark. Lene?s eyes were now a solid platinum color. Platinum dragon crest permanently in her pupils. "World is still dark, but I don't hear the voices anymore."
Kuro had managed to get himself over to Lene's left side..and he tells her the news. "...That bastard perma-blinded you. Then he got Death-Knighted..or something and banished."
"Yes. Holy magic will reverse the evil. Keep it from spreading. But her arm is toast. The evil has solidly infected it." Fleet said with a small sigh.
"...I was ready to give up everything so you could see again." Kuro said.
Hearing the news, Lene just smiled. "Well, so I lost my sight, but I have gained many allies and friends who love me. I think I will live."
Hina nodded and exhaled. Her wings spread from her back, as pale and white as ever. Her hair went from it's dark locks to a pale glow of gold. Her hands spread open and she reached out, moving to counter the seeded evils in their path up Ammy's arm. Under her breath where chants of holy era being repeated over and over.::
Ammy came too as the lance was removed. "Ow, that hurts."
Yejix however was studying Ammy's condition.:: "If we amputate the arm and apply Automail, will she still be able to use Alchemy? Can she even use it now with a dead arm..?"
A look over to Yejix. "She will be able to use alchemy with automail. She used to have that arm and both legs in automail and she still did her alchemy. Something tells me she will be happy to have the autommail back. She grew attached to it." Fleet commented.
Fibers form from a feather on her wings, moving around Ammy's arm and wrapping around the arm. Hina smiles softly.:: Sorry Ammy.. I didn't mean to hurt you.
Kuro leans against the tree or on Lene.. whichever's first.- "...Fleet.. gave me my limbs back... my real limbs.. I owe him a blood debt now and nobody or no god will ever keep me from doing it."
Yejix nods.:: "I can perform Field Surgery and get this sealed off with Hina's help.. but the Automail will have to be done at a hospital."
Ammy looks up in pain and sees her left arm, then a look to Fleet and his missing right arm and leg. "Ah, bloody hell. Guess I get to work on new automail again."
"..You're both lucky.. I was the one who designed and installed Kuro's." ::a sigh from Yejix.::
Fleet nodded. "Take the arm. The longer it stay, the more likely the evil will spread again. Whisper Paws has the technology and knowhow for the automail."
As most of her work finishes, Hina lowers her wings and lets the feathers vanish so that just Hina is sitting there.:: You'll be stiff, but no evil should remain.
"Real limbs? Oh right, now I remember, you had automail. Is mom and dad okay?" Lene remembered.
"Alright. better a person with knowledge of your anatomy than me..." ::Yejix looks to Ammy. and give her a goofus grin.:: "..I swear that this procedure will not hurt a single bit."
Ammy nodded.
Yejix gets a beam knife out, and ignites it... but first, he does something..odd.::
"Just take it off Yejix. Maybe give me a boob lift in the process." Ammy gave him a weak grin. Yeah it hurt like hell, but this was nothing in her long line of battles.
Yejix grimaced. "..If you insist, ma'am.. No nerve-numbing bite."
Hina was ready after the slice.::
Yejix expertly removes the infected arm down to the shoulder cuff, removing any infected flesh and muscle that still clung to her torso as well.::
Fleet looked to Ammy. "It'll be okay. Did I ever tell you were getting to old for this?"
Oddly enough, Yejix?s beam knife makes it.. tickle.::
Ammy tries not to laugh and squirms a little.
Yejix stares in disgust at this evil arm, almost expecting it to animate itself like how.. Ash's did in Evil Dead 2.::
Hina readies with the healing once more, making sure the removal is effortless and as bloodless as possible.::
Funny, the arm did give Yejix a slap. "You little bastard!" He Homer-Chokes it. A 3 stooges style finger poke at Yejix. Blocks it with his hand vertical to his nose! Severed arm flips him off, then shrivels to dust. "........ That was.. very.. strange."
"Well done you two." Fleet nodded
[ Kuro comes to again.:: "..I think.. Look.. uncle is over there with some angel-woman and your folks.."
Hina slides back a bit, giving a small sigh as she relaxes from her wings again.::
Ammy looked to Yejix, feeling very light headed and tired. "I am such a brat that even my limbs have a snippy attitude."
Yejix leans over and gives Hina a smooch on her cheek:: "Great job dear. I think we'd make an excellent medic team.. are you any good with machines too?" ::a hopeful look.::
Lene stared sightlessly over to who knows where. "I am sure they are okay."
Kuro hugs Lene, saddened by her loss of sight but strengthened by her iron will to survive.::
Hina blushed to the kiss to the cheek and nodded softly while she smiled.:: Somewhat I supposed. ::She's actually damn good with machines, but she's humble.::
Fen finally stands and tries to think of what to do. He moves over to Lene and Kuro for now as Yejix and Hina have Fleet and Ammy in good hands. He placed a paw on her shoulder. "I am sorry Lene. I failed you as your Soul Guardian. I will do what I can to help you out with your new world." he gave her a hug and included Kuro as well.
"Be honest. This is vital information if we ever decide to further our sudden relationship!" ::A comically serious look from Yejix!::
Kuro gets dude-hugged. Not awkward.:: "I'll help too.. as much as I can.."
Hina blushed a bit more and nodded.:: I am.
Fen stood and looked about. Mokksha was gone. Most likely back at the clinic. Damn, his kids were overdue. A look over to Fleet and Ammy and Fen sighed. "So much for my vacation." He walked for the two Lupes. A look over his shoulder to Kuro. "Take Lene back to the Inn. Her parents are in no condition for helping her right now. It'll be safer there."
Yejix shouts. "..There is a God!" ::He snugglehugs his Frosty Flower, as he now calls her in his mind::
Fleet blinks hearing Yejix. "Of course there is a god. your next to 3...well.. two I guess now." he watched Fen approached. he no longer felt the lupes magic.
Snuggled Hina goes bright pink, a small smile on her lips and then she giggles softly.::
Yejix squints at Fleet.:: "I meant in the pantheon I abandoned for the sake of my friends. Which is why I look like a tanning bed molested me..which I may or may not decide to keep because i look sexy." ::Tries to look manly!::
Hina snickers softly, her arm looping around Yejix's waist.::
"I think the new look looks hot Yejix." Ammy grins.
"Well I need to get you two to the clinic stat. Lot of work to do." then Fen knelt by Fleet. Mind if you do a portal spell? I am... kinda mortal now."
Fleet nodded. "At least you'll be at peace, my old friend. You can enjoy your family now." and with his left paw he traced out a gate spell. "Thank you for the help, all of you. I just wish Paladin would have been sensible. Violence could have been avoided. Let's go Fen. Ammy can you walk?"
Ammy grunted and slowly rose, wobbling some. "I feel like a truck hit me, but then again, maybe i hit the truck. Come on love. It's time to invest in lovely shiny bits now." her mood could be really odd when she wanted it to be.
Fen helped Fleet up and steadied Ammy. Together the three walked throught the portal right into the Clinic. A lupe nurse looked at Fens catch. *OH Lupis! Fen! What the hell did you do this time?*
Lene stood, feeling that everyone has vanished. She pinged around to see if she was truly alone.
Yejix is still here! He sends a Psi Pong.
Lene walked a bit unsteadily, but got to the two. She was still in human form.
Yejix left Lene a bag of Whirlwind Seeds that would transport her to anyplace she wished to go. Feeling the need to just hide and make sense of things, Lene took one seed and wished to be back at the Inn. She was whisked back to a room.
