Tyris would move to sit down in his chair and rest his hands on the desk, listening to the girls speak. Amaia had fair questions he thought and he was going to let Lene say her part before he spoke. He did manage to chuckle to the last part of Lene's statement. "I'm going to use that on my own son just to ruffle his fur. He hates responsibility or anything having to be of importance on his end." he said chuckling more. "But, he's not entirely wrong." Tyris did add.
With a long sigh he'd look to Amaia, thinking of the words to say to her that would sound right or explain what he was or to offer. "New blood is always needed to continue the fight for order. People are needed like you young ladies, but things must happen reasonably. We can't just go killing random people. We must have order, even if someone has to die." he said in a calm, firm tone. "I'll tell you what I do and my history, Amaia, so you know who and what you're dealing with, as you asked."
He'd take a moment before he continued, "For a long time, since the old country, I've been working with the underground. I dealt anything from drugs, weapons, armor, to daily goods that helped people. Smugglers, basically. But, sometimes we were mercenaries for hire, too. We even had to fight rival groups that wanted to put us out of business permanently. In the old country, I sold goods to every den, whether it was counterfeit items, fake goods or the real stuff. Although, through my years of progress I began leaning more onto the side of smuggling and killing.. for good reasons. More so after some very harsh decisions came in my life, family being killed because of my affiliations and my home den being in trouble during war time. My home den was the same as Orion's, by the way. We came from the same place."
"So, I began doing more.. immoral, good underground work. Supplying fake items to the enemies of my home den, while making profit and helping my own den. Although, with a few meetings of Wolf himself, he didn't exactly like my kind. His den was more about complete justice, being perfect, but accepting everyone. Then again, I may've caused some bad blood with him before, maybe I had gotten a bad reputation with him somehow, I was never too sure. But, bad people did exist in his den, Amaia, and while some cases I did kill the bad people, my people were less.. discrete about it at the time. We were even shaming the Spiritors and others, trying to get people to realize bad things were going to happen by accepting people in randomly for refuge. We were kicked out by the guards of the city. We weren't the only ones to try. Many did try. Eventually, our den was attacked from the inside out, destroyed, burned to the ground. Orion's life shattered, and me and my now-wife, family and friends had to search for a new home." he said.
Though before he rambled on too much, he would start getting to the point, "When I came here to Rhy'Din, Amaia, I saw this den here trying to evolve into something better. It has these days. Orion and myself, though, have these fears sometimes of this den having the same issue. Orion wants order, because he knows it needs to be there, and his father wasn't wrong for wanting order and justice. Orion also knows my side is needed, which is why he lets me work here, but I've learned from my mistakes. Amaia, if you accept any jobs from me I want you to respect everything DFLEA is and stands for. These people put their lives on the line to keep this city safe and secure and trying to be rational about it. Same goes with you, Lene. Please don't give Orion hell. I know what he's been through and what happened to our home lives with us every day. It really isn't easy and even sometimes I think maybe if I went a better way about my past, maybe Wolf would've accepted my warning. Working underground you hear a lot of things and I'm sure Orion thinks if he did something different one day maybe he could've saved the den, too, even as a youngster. Sadly, we'll never know the answer because we already lost everything."
"Anyways, that's who I am, what I've somewhat dealt with and leads to what I now do. Amaia, what I stand for now is order in a secretive way. I know I'm not in the best of reputations in this city, nor is my gang the Black Fangs, but we're trying to improve. We've become more helpful in the community, we've stopped selling harmful drugs. We do sell unlicensed weapons, but we do keep an eye on who buys what. Everything we do is recorded, no exceptions. Not for DFLEA, but for our own interest mostly. Helps keep us safe. Now, there's still bad people out there. We sometimes keep other groups or small packs in line before they go trying to make some insane, psychotic gang that's going to harm a lot of innocent people. I know Lene will remember this one, the Blood Claws. We had an incursion with them some time ago, a lot of people got hurt. Orion was even involved to help rescue some kidnapped people. The Blood Claws harmed a lot of people, they sold people as slaves, did unspeakable things to people in their hideouts, they'd sell harmful drugs to make a few bucks even. These same people also used to be part of gang back in the old country, so you can see how far I've come."
He'd lean back to recline in his chair, crossing his arms and watching the girls a moment before continuing, "Amaia, if you work for me, you will be paid fairly. You'll be treated fairly. But, you're going to have to abide by my underground rules. Much of the underground in Den City is mine and if you go shooting the wrong people we'll definitely have some conflicts of interest here. Now, before you think it'll be a problem, it shouldn't as long as you play nice. I'll give you any answers about people you want, I'll show you any records we have on them, what they do, what their trade is, how bad their criminal record is. Not everyone deserves to die, Amaia, although some could have their butts simply kicked to get them in line, which I'd pay you for, too. I do have eyes around this city, though, so you shouldn't worry too much on lack of information about any potentially bad targets." he said. "But, as I said, I want to do some proving jobs with you. A few different targets to go after. Each one will have their own rule sets of how to be dealt with. Order must be maintained, even in the underground, Amaia. Not all missions will be kill missions, but some will require force no doubt. You'll even be equipped with anything you ever need per mission should you prove well in the beginning contracts I find for you."
With a long sigh, knowing he's probably talked their ears off, he'd finally come with his ending statements, "Don't get me wrong, Amaia, there's very bad people around still, some that do need to be rid of permanently, but I just want to get to know how you work is all. It's as simple as that. In some cases, I'll even let you go as wild as you want. More so if it's not within the Den City walls. What happens outside these walls is your business mostly, but we do need to be careful in the den itself. That's all I'm asking of you. So, what do you say? Or did I yap the pair of ears off the both of you?" he said with a little smile to the end of his statement, although his entire, lengthy speech was meant to be taken seriously. Tyris did really want to look out for the wellness of Den City and didn't want chaos to break out.
