Dressed in blue denim pants, black halter-top and wearing a black backpack, Amaia would enter the home of her mother and her family's through a door which lead to another dimension. In her left hand she was carrying a black weapon case as she entered and she looked around, seeming to be in a hallway at first. She had never visited the home before though, so things were a bit confusing for her at first. She smelled what seemed to be cookies being made and followed the direction of the smell, which led her to a living room that was next to a kitchen.

She paused a moment before going into the kitchen hoping she wasn't going to scare someone that didn't know her and end up thinking she was an intruder of some kind. That thought was a short one as she then remembered the insanity that she had been told so much about with the family. Them being gods and full of crazy people that knew how to fight, that is. Nonetheless, she walked into the kitchen to see who was there.

When she entered the room she saw her mother Mirius, who was in her Soultrii Lupinossai form and wearing a maid dress, and she stood there blinking in confusion as to why her mother was dressed such a way. She really couldn't help but ask, ?Uh, mom? Why are you dressed like that? I've only seen you dress like that for dad back at the house.? She wasn't necessarily shy on what to say, but she was really wanting to know why her mother was dressing in such attire in a different house. Just seeing her mother in that was throwing her off her real reason of seeking her mother in a different realm.

While most were really out of the house being busy and doing their own thing, Mirius was in their home baking cookies and planning other foods for whenever the others got home to eat. She was trying to treat every day for her mates and family as a special one, wanting to make them treats and make them feel loved. Although, she wasn't expecting anyone else to show up until she heard someone speaking.

She'd yip in surprise and turn around seeing it was her daughter, Amaia, standing there looking like she was a little geared up to be doing something. "For the All Mother's sake, girl, don't freaking sneak up on me like that." Mirius said as she worked on calming down. "The outfit? Oh, uhm... uh... long story... I wear it for more reasons than just for him." she replied before turning around and watching the cookies for a few minutes waiting for them to finish up. She was also wanting to avoid all the reasons of why she was wearing the outfit, but she was probably going to need to explain it at some point later. "Amaia, I'm going to go ahead and assume your gun is in that case. The backpack probably containing ammo and other... supplies for combat. What exact trouble are you about to cause? Because we really don't need more crap that to go on around here." she said a bit frankly.

her eyes did wander back over to Amaia keeping an eye on her and maybe waiting for her response. Another question did pop up in her head to add, "And... why are you here in Rhy'Din? If your dad kicked you out of the house then I'll kick his teeth in. I know he's joked about it before, but it's something he does not want to be serious with when it comes to my kids."

"Ooookay" is all she could say to her mother's response about the outfit. She wasn't going to linger on it as she had more important things to talk about. She'd let her mother finish speaking and did smile about the bit of her father. "No, he didn't kick me out. I actually came for other reasons, mom."

"I kind of didn't want to be at the home anymore. Life felt too... fabricated in that realm. Wanted to be some place where lots of people meet, interact and stuff. That and uncle Aribius is really weird. Living in his kind of world is just very off-putting to every extent." she said. She'd set her case on a nearby table to give her arm a rest for a moment. "But, I've noticed he does something that I want to do, mom. He sits there and likes to torture people, punish them for their bad deeds. Well, usually. I noticed he does it to good people, too. Anyways, I want to go after bad people in a real world I think. To stop people from doing bad things and hurting others. Kind of like what you and dad did when going off to fight those other gods that was hurting your family."

Before her mother would speak, she'd go to clarify more of her intentions, "Before you say it, mom, I haven't come to fight gods. I know there's other gods and supernatural people here in Rhy'din. I've heard the stories and even dad has told me about stuff. I don't care for any ancient bullcrap wars you and dad have been involved with or anyone else. I'm talking about functioning on a more mortal level. You know, normal lives and stuff. Besides, bad mortals can encourage bad gods to keep doing bad things and keep giving them power. Take out the bad little people and the big-baddies won't have any followers to back them up anymore." she said firmly. As she spoke she was speaking on a more serious tone and not that of something to take lightly. She seemed dead set on a goal of taking on the world and showing a lot of confidence over the subject.

Mirius let out a long sigh hearing her daughter. It felt like it was going to be a long talk about what her girl was wanting to do. She'd put on some oven mitts and would open the oven to take the tray of cookies out and set them on the counter to cool. She'd put more into the oven to cook, closing it again and setting the oven mitts to the side for now on the counter. She was thinking hard on how to even respond to her daughter's intentions. Mirius turned around and leaned against the counter with crossed arms. "Guess I shouldn't be surprised." she said gently, "You are my daughter after all." she said with a gentle smile. She did give another sigh though "Amaia, I'm glad you're not getting into the god-fighting business, but things aren't simply just good and bad in the lives of just...regular folks. I know you've been practicing on those around in Aribius' world, but doing it in a real world is far different. There's consequences, there's so many gray areas of what really goes on. There is just too much, girl." She said.

She'd pause a moment, thinking of an example in her life and how to explain things to her daughter. Then she thought of one and continued, "When I came to Rhy'Din, I helped wage war with war-monger named Igneous. After killing people, doing sabotage, hurting a lot of folks I eventually found myself cornered and with an orphan that I later adopted. A woman named Ammy came along and even though I was the enemy she gave me a chance to change. Even after I took her hostage at first, taking advantage of her vulnerability. She showed me I could continue without leading down a chaotic path that was likely going to end up with me being dead. I took that cchance after she helped me, I released her of being hostage and we got to know each other. After a while... we became lovers, helped raise a family together and get a nice home."

"I suppose what I'm saying is, Amaia, I've seen what you do when you hunt down bad people. You shoot them in the head. You don't leave room for mercy. Granted, that is in Aribius' world, but that's where the problem exists. It's a different world. If you do that here you could get a lot of enemies, you could derive people from second chances of becoming better in life like myself. You say you want to get out of a fabricated life, but are you really prepared for that? To take actual lives where people don't come back? And knowing how you act against rules often, I take it you're going to do this while not aligning yourself with a police force, yes? Because we have security here in the Den and there's officers in Rhy'Din that do their best to stop bad people and they don't kill everyone they see." She gave Amaia a very serious look and spoke to her firmly trying to enforce she was not joking about the situation. She knows she couldn't stop the young woman from doing what she wanted. She was becoming an adult and she could only control to a small extent, but she was at least going to be a proper mother and advise her and try to get her to realize the seriousness of the situation.

Amaia

Amaia would grab a kitchen stool and moved it over to her mother and moved up onto the stool to sit and relax whiel she talked with her mother, "I know, I know." she said softly, "Even uncle was telling me that. What about the really, really bad people though? The ones that do people trafficking, the ones that exploit the labor of minors to the point of death only to replace them with another. What about the ones that stab people to death, steal their money and go spend it on their next fix and don't want to stop loving that thrill of just killing the next innocent person? I'm not waging war on every person I see, mom. I have more sense than that. I just want to take care of the bad people, maybe... throw their souls at Aribius for him to deal with or something. May need some kind of soul-catching device for that."

She'd turn herself to her mother a bit more before she continued speaking, "Mom, I want to take care of the really, really bad people. If I make enemies then... oh well. And I know, you being affiliated with me could mean people might come after the family. Then again, that's only if I leave bad people alive. Dead men tell no tales. Then again, who would really come after you? Ordinary people get vaporized by this family from the sounds of it. Only things that come after you is like all the chaos and other gods and other powerful forces you and dad tell stories about. Never have I heard you become a scared little girl with some shaggy, doped up dude in a dark alley with a 1-inch needle threatening you to give him all your money"

She would smile at her mother though, "I just wanna do all the cool things you do, mom, except I just want to help ordinary people. That's all. I mean, I'll let the authorities and stuff do their work, but I'd imagine there's things that even go over their head that they can't do without looking bad or something. I promise I'll be careful in my decisions on what I do. You've always told me to think before shooting. I know that, but just let me do something with my life, something to help others lives. If they're people just doing stupid, minor crimes I'll probably let them live and let the authorities take care of them, but if they're the real terrible people... those are the ones I will not allow to live. Does... that make sense?" she said and asked her mother. Amaia was very set on wanting to do something to help people, even if it were risky. She was proving she had the old fight inherited into her heart like her parents, but unlike them she was wanting to do something different with these powers and talents. She really was wanting to help people that lived day to day, not millennium to millennium. Even if she was out of her league, it was the fact that she really wanted to do her best and creating a better life for many by taking out all the bad as much as she could.

Mirius Spiritor

Her arms remained crossed as she listened to Amaia. She had to admit the girl was at least thinking things and planning ahead and not going into things blind. She felt a little better knowing that. She never really thought one of her kids would ever follow her trails of fighting people, though. This circumstance was definitely letting her know how Ammy felt when it came to Myrlene. Deep down though she was feeling rather happy her daughter wanted to do things like her. It felt like she was being a mother that truly made her daughter feel loved, except for the fact her daughter seemed rather happy in wanting to take people out. It almost disturbed her, but she wasn't surprised by anything in this family more.

When Amaia stopped speaking, Mirius would lean over and give her daughter a long, gentle hug. "You really do have your mind set on this, don't you?" she said with a smile and nuzzled her daughter's ears. "Firstly, I'd like to say we do have shops that are in Rhy'Din city itself. Yes, we could easily handle any idiots, but idiots coming in the first place can be bad for business you know. " she chuckled softly.

She'd let go of her daughter and turned around checking the cookies a moment. As they got cooler, she'd get a small container and began putting the cookies into the container, but she did speak as she worked not wanting to miss a minute in handling the food. "I can't say I've ever gone into the profession of being a... vigilante, Amaia. I think that's what you're aiming for by the way. Although, I think I know someone can help you My uncle Orion is head of DFLEA... yes, I know, get all the giggles out. Anyways, I'll give you some directions on heading there. Should be on duty there today if I recall right. He's well into fighting crime and isn't shy himself when it comes to putting some bad people six feet under. Of course, like you said, even DFLEA can't go shooting up all bad guys. They have to show they're civil people, show a system is in place."

She'd close the container once she was done putting in a few dozen cookies. She'd hold up a finger for Amaia to wait and she'd leave the room a moment, then came back with some sticky notes, paper and pen. "I think I'll let you talk to him about this all. Also, don't worry, he's not going to jail you over anything. You're family and if you've seen the things Ammy and I have gotten away with... good enough to give that old wolf several heart attacks. Then again, he's not surprised at how wild we are." she giggled. She'd write down a lovely note on the sticky notes and stick one to the closed plastic container with the cookies with it having a heart sign and saying from Mirius on it. She'd then take the paper and began drawing and writing some simplistic directions and a rough map of where to go in the city. She knew the city well though, so it didn't take her long to draw up the little map.

She'd then hand the container, note and map to her. "Take these. Cookies are for the DFLEA office. I sometimes make treats for the officers there. Let's 'em know they're still appreciated. Here's a map to DFLEA as well, with street names and all." She'd look to her daughter some more, a bit proud of her although a little worried at the same time. "Amaia, I know you'd do this stuff even if I said no, but the only things I'm going to ask of you is to please, please be careful, sweetie. And please talk to Orion. He may be old, but he's very understanding and reasonable. If you go causing trouble instantly it'd make him quite mad and probably come screaming at us. So, him knowing what you may do will help him greatly. Heck, he might even have some cases for you to solve or something. Just, please, visit him first before you do anything."

Amaia

Amaia was expecting some possible scolding from her mother, but hearing her being open minded and just wanting her to take some safety precautions before doing anything made her smile. She'd move off the stool and hugged her mother tightly, "Thank you so much, mom. I promise I'll try my best and be careful and if anyone even messes with your shops I'll take care of them for you." She'd then take off her backpack and took the cookies, putting them into her backpack for safe keeping for now. She'd take the map and fold it up to put into her pocket as well until she needed it before putting on her backpack once more.

Then she began to go over the things she needed to do just so she understood everything, "Okay, before I leave I go to DFLEA HQ, ask for this mister Orion, give them the cookies and I just... tell him about what I'm going to do or want to do? My weapon case shouldn't cause any concerns for public and the DFLEA office should it?" she asked for clarification. Then she had to add, "and what the heck does DFLEA stand for anyways? They supposed to be the fleas in the criminals fur, bugging them or something?" she said giggling a lot now.

"That's pretty much it," Mirius replied with a smile, "And it stands for Den Fang Law Enforcement Agency. Don't make any flea jokes around Orion or he'll kick your butt. Just because you are my kid doesn't mean he won't do it. " he said with a grin and a chuckle. "But, yes, just tell him what you plan on doing. Even suggest that you want to talk with him in private or something. He's not one shy for a conversation. As to the weapons, keep them in your case and don't go walking around with it. I'll text him mentioning you'll be carrying a weapon with you. That way, people at the department will know what to expect ahead of time."

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I do need to go do some chores around the house. Things to wash, clothes to fold up, some vacuuming.. At least before kids and my mates get home. Want the place nice and clean for them." she said with a smile and hugged Amaia once more and ruffled her ears and went to leave the room and turned back to her with a grin, "By the way, sweetie, you forgot your sword. I noticed it's not with you. Off to a great start on fighting crime." she did stick her tongue out at her daughter playfully before waving to her and leaving the room finally to go about her chores in the home.

Amaia

Amaia smiled at the returned hugs from her mother and she did listen to her mother's advice, although it didn't mean she wasn't going to maybe tease this Orion about the silly agency name. She was about to say her goodbyes, but then she was caught off guard when her mother mentioned her missing sword. "Oh, friggin frigs!" she shouted and darted out of the kitchen, back down the hallway, into the door from the realm in which she came from and went straight for her home to grab her sword. With the smallsword in its sheath, she'd hook it up to her pants so she didn't forget it again. Once she had her sword, she hurried back to the realm of Rhy'din and went to the kitchen, grabbing her weapon case.

After making sure she still had the map in her pocket and cookies in her backpack, she went for the front door, opening it and stepping outside. She'd politely close the door behind her and looked out of the yard and to the street. She'd realize she was in a real neighborhood now. People of many kinds of races walking up and down the sidewalks, street lights hanging over paved streets. On the streets themselves she'd even see people on bicycles, motorcycles and little compact stylish cars for transportation around the city.

Her curious eyes were looking everywhere now as she walked out onto the sidewalk, wanting to see everything, wanting to explore. Her heart even raced a little with excitement. She was finally in a world where things weren't so in-place, fabricated, set to be in a way because someone wanted it that way. She was in a real world where conflicts could happen, where life just moved on without someone changing it to they're own ideals in mere seconds.

As excited as she was, she had to get back on track of what she was here to do. She used her free hand to dig into her pocket and pull out the map drawn by her mother and examined it. It showed where the home was, what street they were at and gave a path directly where to go. With a smile she'd turn on the sidewalk and started walking, looking at the map periodically as she walked. The city seemed so modern, so up to date in technology. She'd even notice there was a few bunny-like people herself, which made her feel a bit happy knowing there was maybe some other people to relate to species-wise.

She did begin to notice a few other things though. As she walked, she noticed what appeared to be DFLEA officers around. Not many, but here and there that were patrolling. Some were even helping others that seemed to have less luck in life in physically being able to get around or do things on their own. Amaia was expecting to see problems from the beginning from all the wild stories she heard from her mother, but it seemed like much of the place was friendly, happy, doing well. At least, it seemed that way. There must have been some kind of bad neighborhood in this city somewhere or some kind of underground, shady business that went on in the city doing terrible things to people. There had to be something.

Even as much as she wanted something bad to happen just so she could get involved, she made a promise to her mother to see this Orion person first. Her footsteps hurried into a slightly faster walk, really wanting to meet this person now and get into something crazy. Her young mind was racing with thoughts on the types of things she could find out to hopefully stop in some way. She'd continue taking the guidance of the map following it every bit of the way. Turning corners around buildings, going along more streets and even passing through the Den Circle. When she got there though she would be quite amazed at how many people were busy, hanging out, having fun and even seeing all the shops nearby.

A temptation to visit one of these stores to see what they had was rather tempting. Even seeing the advertisements that was around for different shops in different areas of the cities almost made her want to turn around. More so when she saw there was gun and sword shops. But, she couldn't. She was on a little mission first. Seeing the DFLEA HQ wasn't far, she'd continue her little walk.

It only took a few more minutes of walking before she got to the DFLEA building, seeing a few officers about. She felt this sudden feeling of being a bit nervous, as if someone was maybe going to get mad at her for showing up here, but she was trusting her mother had already sent the message to this Orion person and that people would be expecting her. With a deep breath she'd walk towards the building and move to enter the building. An officer even holding the door for her as they were leaving, which she'd smile and thank him for the polite action.

Looking around the room she'd see a lobby area, some people waiting, officers behind desks talking with people about situations that probably needed the aide of legal authorities. She'd wait a few minutes until one seemed to be free and went up to the desk, "Uhm, hi, I'm looking for a mister... Orion? He's my mother's uncle and she was wanting me to speak to him about some things. Oh, also I got some cookies mom said she made for the office here!" she'd quickly then go to put her weapon case down for the moment and took off the backpack and pulled out a clear, plastic container full of sugar cookies and showed them to the officer. The sticky note saying it was from Mirius would even be on there. "She told me to bring them since I was on my way here." she smiled a little. Amaia still had a bit of nervousness deep down, unsure of how things were going to go. The officers didn't seem to carry much for weaponry. Mostly just pistols and tasers, but being around so many of them did make her a bit uneasy if things somehow went terrible.

Orion Wolf

Date: 2016-04-01 23:28 EST
A slim, well groomed, smoke gray Siamese Felinae in red paneled DFLEA uniform with blue accents and gold trim. His green eyes focused on Amaia for a few moments as she spoke to him. You are looking for Commissioner Orion Wolf? Let me see where he is at this moment. Just have a seat here at my desk." He pulled out a radio and set the frequency to channel 13.

*Thumper, Thumper, this is the Farm. What is your 10-20 and is Valkyrie with you?*

A span of four seconds of static pop and hiss a gruff voice came over the radio.

*Farm, this is Thumper and Valkyrie. We are on the bunny trail, but no field mice to bop heads on. We are returning to the farm.*

The Felinae responded. *10-4 Thumper. Be advised you have someone waiting for you here with your usual delivery.*

*Sugarbutt is there today?* . . . crackle hiss, faint other voice on the radio, *Thumper watch how you talk about my mother.* . . . crackle hiss, *Cool it Valkyrie.*

The Felinae chuckled just a little. *Uh, correction, Thumper, it is not Mirius Spiritor that is here. It is, uhm, well, the note and the person says she's a daughter of Mirius Spiritor.*

Static for a few more seconds.

*Show her to my office, Lieutenant Keeker. Get her anything she needs. ETA 15 minutes and I'll be there. Thumper and Valkyrie out.*

Lieutenant Keeker switched off the radio. He looked to Amaia. "Seems Commissioner Wolf and Lieutenant Wolf-Spiritor are out in the field on some Lupinossai Glade Marshall business. Let's get you comfy in his office while you wait. My name is Jim Keeker, Felinae, Lieutenant of DFLEA, Dispatch, and you are?" He stood and leaned over the desk to offer her a handshake then would lead her through the offices to Orion's office door.

Amaia

Amaia would take the moment to sit down in a chair and watched the feline fellow speak over the radio. When she heard the little conversation over the radios she couldn't help but giggle thinking it was all very silly sounding. She really started laughing when she heard the term "Sugarbutt" being referred to her mother. Amaia was trying so hard not to bust out laughing.

The laughter would stop when the questions were thrown her way. Seeing the hand being offered to her for a handshake, she'd set the container down in her lap and reach over to shake his hand. "My name is Amaia. I don't really use a last name, or at least not much. Since my mother's is Spiritor and my father's Nylta'al and them never putting their last names into each others names, I just decided to generally leave it out."

After introducing herself and the handshake, Amaia would hold her case in one hand and the other would hold the cookies for now and she'd follow him to Orion's office. On the way there she had questions she really felt like she had to ask, "So, do you people really talk like that or is that just for giggles or something?" she asked sounding rather sincere in that question before adding two more, "also, who was that other person calling her mom and is my mom's name really Sugarbutt around here?" She'd even giggle again.

Orion Wolf

"It is nice to meet you Amaia. It's okay if you don't want to pick a last name. It's kind of common in this city. Some of the residents like to leave them behind or pick new ones. Last names carry a lot of heavy family baggage some days." Jim said to Amaia as he let her into Orion's office.

The office was paneled in light yellow oak wood and carpeted with navy blue shag. A large, sturdy redwood desk took up the back half of the office with a battered looking wooden chair with worn stuffed leather padding. Traces of claw marks on it showed the often nervous ticks that prior commissioners had during their tenure at DFLEA. Two new leather chairs sat before the desk and a worn but decent tan cloth couch that could pull out into a bed rounded out the furnishings. A ceiling fan was clicking away as it ran.

Several black shelves decorated the walls on both sides of a large bay window overlooking the Myrlene Youth Park. On the shelves were framed pictures of Orion with his wife Sari and their five children as well as various pictures of him with Ammy, Myrlene, Fleet and a few others in the family and some of him and Mirius on a shooting range.

Book shelves lined the walls on either side of the door with various Lupinossai books and several of the newer Lupe Law books. A large, steel gray fridge was in the back left corner of the office near the desk. Behind the desk was a display cabinet with locking sliding glass doors that displayed a very well used Mosin-Nagant Russian sniper rifle, the walnut stock was heavily scored with X's showing kills made and not a blank space was left on it. Bellow the rifle were two gold plated Desert Eagles, .50 caliber and they each had a soul gem set into the hand grip. Both guns appeared solid with no moving parts.

"Go ahead and have a seat if you want. I am sure there is plenty to eat and drink in the fridge if you want. Commissioner Wolf is a mean cook when he's not on duty. As for the lingo, it's a bit of a new procedure lately due to some joint operations were doing with other cities. We are trying to break some severe drug rings so our agents are using nursery rhymes often to throw off anyone listening.

The other agent with him is Lieutenant Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor. I believe she is like a god-greatniece to him or something. He's like an adoptive uncle to her mother Ammy Spiritor or something. It's hard to tell with the resident 'Spiritor' family and how their family try ends or begins. Now as to the, uhm, nickname your mother has acquired. I'm afraid to either confirm or deny it Amaia. Your mom does have a temper and she's wicked good on the range. Speaking of shooting ranges, what are you packing in the case? SMG? Shotty?" Jim asked with simple curiosity.

Amaia

Date: 2016-04-02 23:09 EST
After entering the room she'd set the cookies on the desk and moved to sit in a chair. Amaia would take the time to listen to him talk about the family. It was all a rather weird, confusing mess even for her. "No kidding. My dad and my uncle Aribius is even pretty weirded out by the family, which is saying a lot." she giggled. Hearing him asking his question about what was in her case, "it's a sniper rifle. Had it custom made for me. Fits just my size and works mostly for me. It's nice and all, but I do need to get one with more modifications. Maybe some better stuff. At some point maybe getting another variant of it that works with my power. But, figured since I was going to be around more regular types of people I didn't need anything special right away."

Orion Wolf

"Sniper rifle. You like being a long range kind of girl. Kind of neat. Commissioner Wolf could get you a few leads on some good gun smiths in town." Jim said with a grin.

Soon the door opened as voices spilled in. "Yeah, yeah. I get it. Another damn dead end. Maybe we're pushing too hard in the country sides Myrlene. Pull back maybe and see if the drug dealers relax and start popping up again? You hear anymore from Captain Ravenlock over in 27th Division?" A 7 foot tall, solidly built Erthrii Lupinossai in the red DFLEA uniform with blue accents and gold detail took off a pair of goggles and a helmet to show platinum hair pulled back tight into a pony tail to allow the helmet to fit. His right blue eye showed intense wisdom, his left eye covered in an eye patch of black leather. Jet black fur on his face was just starting to show the traces of old silver creeping in.

His partner was a comedic contrast. A short Airii, 3 feet tall, female, wearing the same DFLEA uniform, except she had wings with metallic black colored feathers, purple fur and crystal blue eyes. Her crimson hair was vibrant and in a tight braid down to her waist. She too had a pair of goggles tucked into a helmet held under her left arm. She had to crane her head up to look at Orion as she spoke. "Yeah, I agree. We've been keeping the druggies running scared lately in the Den and in the country side which is good, but well not good. We can't get to the roots and I am running out of time this week to help out Uncle. I got more shifts back with Morry and over at prospect site for my kingdom. As to the 27th Division, right now is not a good time to bug them boss. Things are shifting around some. A restructure with their staff. I mean they are still playing ball, but they have a lot on their plates too. Their new acting captain, a Hope Jubal is aware to keep us in the loop if Brimstone pops up on the radar in Rhy'Din city. Until then, we sit tight and keep working our end."

Orion grunted a bit. He had yet to meet the 27th Division and hearing that the group that was joining forces on this common ground threat was going through some growing pains was a little disturbing. Then again, he knew any hunting pack did have to make allowances for new hunters to replenish veterans that were thinning out.

He saw Jim and Amaia in the office and smiled. "So you must be Amaia, Sugarbutt's daughter." Orion chuckled. "I'm Orion Wolf, Commissioner and leader of this motley crew of officers called DFLEA and this Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor, a friend and adopted great niece. She's a consultant for me on joint case. Mirius said you were bringing cookies. That woman knows how to keep us uppity males from getting too rowdy here at the office." He'd move to the fridge and open it.

"Stay Jim. May as well enjoy a break. The front desk was thin on 'crazy' as we walked by." He tossed a bottle of beer to Myrlene, Jim, Amaia and he took one for himself. He'd take a seat in his chair behind the desk and Myrlene took the other chair by the desk leaving Jim to enjoy the couch. "So, Amaia, your mom gave me a bit of a heads up that you have some questions for me possibly regarding you doing some 'freelance justice' work." Orion chose his wording carefully and sipped his beer.

Amaia

Date: 2016-04-03 15:41 EST
"Mmm, I'm not a afraid to get close and dirty either." she winked at him and with a grin a hand would tap the handle on her sword she had on her waist and giggled. Her bunny ears would twitch hearing others about to come through the door and she'd turn her head to look at the door. She saw one really tall guy and the one next to him was more short than herself. It almost made her giggle that she was managing to be taller than someone else already.

"You're really quite the big one," she said with a giggle before speaking more, "and yeah I'm Amaia, her daughter." Though hearing the Airii's name she'd look at Lene for a moment. "Myrlene, I remember hearing your name before. Sometimes mom and dad would talk about you. Always wondered what you were like." she said with a grin. Although, for Lene she'd notice something very odd about Amaia. She had that same lethal power her mom had against goddesses like her, except she'd also noticed there seemed to be something significantly muffling the power, making it weak and borderline harmless.

Even if she wanted to talk more to Myrlene, it would have to be saved for another time since Orion was getting straight to business. She'd point to the container real quick, "Cookies right there on your desk by the way." she said with a grin, then continued with business, "Yeah, was wanting to do some work around here. She actually recommended me to come here first before I ran off and did something and made you think there was some criminal going around shooting people I guess. Said you didn't need the extra stress."

"The work I'm looking to do is... taking out bad people. I told mom I'm not going to kill every criminal in sight, especially if it's some minor crime. What I'm looking at going for is the big baddies. You know, the ones that kill innocent people for the thrill, enslave others, the people that are just the worst." She'd stop speaking a moment and reached down to grab her weapon case and pulled it up into her lap. She'd go to open the case and reveal her sniper that was in several parts in the case. She began taking pieces out and putting them all together casually, seeming to know her gun well. "When I go to take the bad people out, I won't be making a ruckus. Nothing loud, nothing big, no explosions, nothing out of this world. While my mother is all of those traits, I prefer to get it over with." she said. Once completed, she'd set the case down onto the ground and show them the sniper that was relatively small, at least compared to Orion and Jim, but it'd be the right size for her. The large pistols Orion had though probably made her rifle seem very awkward in comparison as well as the mosin-nagant

"I know this rifle doesn't look like much at all, Mr. Wolf, especially compared to your guns over there, but my .22 will still kill with ease as long as I aim for the head, or heart, whichever is easiest at that moment. Accompanied with my silencer here, I'll make very little noise when it comes to killing. Quite frankly, I don't look for giving out mercy warnings to the bad folks. I want to make them check out. As to my reasons for doing this, Mr. Wolf, I've grown up around my uncle Aribius and my parents and seen what a lot of bad people are like. Seen what they do to families, people just trying to simply live. I want to stop those people and send them to the underworld where they'll be taken care of once and for all, not let out 6 months later to do it again. I also really, really, really didn't want to get involved into my mother and father's old ancient, deity war bullcrap. They're trying to start some stupid "Deity Killers" group or something stupid from the universe I come from. At least dad's pushing the idea. I really don't care for fighting actual gods though. I want to fight regular jerk-faces that live among regular folks and I want to make them regret it. Besides, like I've said to my mom, many gods can't have their power if they don't have followers." she said with a grin and wink, "I wouldn't be surprised if there's some crazed cultists around here sacrificing people and torturing them because it'll bring them eternal life or some stupid crap. Would be on the level of messing with regular people's lives, so I wouldn't mind going into that."

Jim chuckled hearing Amaia and did give her sword a full glance when she tapped it. "Well you have a dose of moxy then to get spattered with someone else's blood. I'd rather sit behind a desk and assist someone with a problem." Jim said to her very honestly.

Hearing and seeing Orion and Myrlene enter the office, Jim snapped to attention and threw them both a sharp salute for a second or two then relaxed as Orion addressed Amaia and went to the fridge. Jim accepted the tossed beer and took a seat on the couch and gave a nod of thanks for the break.

Myrlene returned Jim's salute briefly, a form of habit from both DFLEA and Morry. She took the remaining open seat in front of the desk by Amaia and caught her beer. Crystal blue eyes were burning a bit as they studied the bunny girl intensely and she felt some intense burning pains flair for a second in her mind remembering some things she never discussed with anyone in the family beyond Yaji'is and Aribius. Hearing that this girl was a child from Mirius and seeing that scarlet power in her made Myrlene sharply uncomfortable. She did her best to not let it show and kept her fur smooth and ears relaxed. The muted effect upon the power was noted so she took some comfort knowing that Mirius and Yajiis weren't just letting lethal ankle biters just roaming around unchecked. She sipped her beer a moment before speaking to Amaia. "I can be dangerous." Myrlene said with little tone in her voice, a lot of unsaid things in that sentence.

"Myrlene, play nice or I spank you in front of Jim and give you meter maid duty for the rest of the year." Orion said in a stern tone that allowed no talk back. He looked to the cookies, opened the container, sniffed them and closed the lid with an approving nod. He put his solitary blue gaze on Amaia and listened to her now. He watched her assemble her .22 caliber sniper rifle in front of his desk and listened to her outline her mission statement and ideals. He took several swigs of his beer and his ears twitched a bit as he gave a lot of careful thoughts to what this girl was saying and perhaps thinking of ways to strap Mirius to a train track to be run over but knowing his luck, she'd live and have more kids to show up with more toys in his office. At least she had warned him and sent cookies. Damn that bitch, she was getting too good at this game.

"Yes. I could do with less stress after a century of being in wars, renegade assaults, slavery wars and wars against monsters and deities in this damn realm. So you want to hand out justice to people 'you' perceive as 'evil' because 'they' kill people for fun, for sport, to have a good time. People that enslave others that make other people miserable that 'you' feel are purely evil . . ." Orion said.

Myrlene began to speak and he held up a finger. "Myrlene. My office. My domain. My district. My jurisdiction. Keep your deity morality to yourself. You are family and count yourself lucky that I still consider you and Ammy family or I'd have you all in jail or worse for all the trouble your deity family has brought even if it was intended for good. Everything has consequences." Orion said.

He looked back to Amaia. "Don't take what I just said the wrong way either. I know young people are often faster to react than they are to think. Most of the 'guidelines' you gave me to base your decision on who is really evil is superficial. How do you really know these people are 'evil' and deserve a permanent hole to the brain bucket? Do you know if they are acting on their own will? Are they controlled? Coerced? Forced or payed to do it? Just because they are in a cult does not mean they all deserve death that follow that cult. I'd like to hear a bit more about how you intend to discern who gets to live or die when you are out there aiming that rifle, and by the way, it's not the size of the rifle that counts. It's what's behind your eyes looking down that scope. That Mosin-Nagant up there doesn't have the kill count on it because I could squeeze the trigger with ease. I've made peace with each face I've shot and I know my number is going to be punched one day, just like yours will be when you start down this path. So let's talk a bit more about how you plan to do things, though I have someone else you should meet as well. He's my second in command, Tyris and helps me run things you could say above and below the tables of law."

Orion pulled out his phone, flipped it open and sent a text to Tyris to see him in his office at DFLEA HQ as soon as possible.

Amaia

Amaia wasn't too sure in how to respond to what Myrlene said to her. She gave Lene a quiet stare sensing some tension with her already, but when Orion spoke she looked back towards him. She started to have an unhappy look on her face, feeling like she was being treated like a dumb kid. Amaia did not interrupt though, she just let him speak.

Once he was done speaking she was silent for a minute or two. She didn't feel put on the spot, but she did feel an urge to say something nasty like her mother. Instead of shouting or lots of swearing, she'd keep calm as she spoke even though a bit of her mother was probably going to show anyways, "I know old people are usually quite senile, always stubborn, thinking their way is the right way, always thinking young peopel are stupid. If I never thought of any of those situations I'd be doing exactly what my father does and that's killing people that are in my way. If you think my mother is bad then you haven't seen my father. He kills and does not care who it was he killed."

She'd sigh and try to cool her head a bit and get more on topic instead of trying to get into an argument with an old lupinossai, "And my guidelines are not superficial, it was a few simple things to show what I'm going for. Since you're too dense to figure that out though I guess I'll have to go into detail."

After clearing her throat she would continue, "My mother taught me well in how to decide in killing since she has been in many wars. She's taught me how to scout, how to stalk, make decisive actions when the moment is required. Here's a hypothetical scenario. A man at a bar shooting up some drugs with his lame friends and are drunk, he keeps talking nasty about his worthless wife and the few things she's good for and they all have laughs. Sure, some people say stupid things sometimes when their drunk, but we'll see. So, I follow him back home. I can do this easily without being noticed since I fit in around here, I can also fly, tuurn invisible, teleportation. Following won't be too hard. I follow him to his home where his wife is. I get into a position somewhere that I can stay hidden and not be noticed. It doesn't take long before arguing and shouting happens. The man hits his wife a few good times until she submits, probably has his way with her later on. Someone calls in for a domestic disturbance. The fleas come, arrest the boogieman and he's screaming threats and obscenities as he's taken out of the house, he's put in jail for a while and is given a restraining order on the woman's request. Okay, sounds like a happy ending. No one got shot by some young, crazed kid that doesn't know what she's doing. But, later that man comes out. He gets a gun off the underground market or even in another city. He can easily lay low for a while and get the fleas out of his fur, but he slowly finds out where she's living these days. He comes to her home, breaks into the home and goes to find her. Beats her up some more and puts a gun to her head, says a last few words for her to hear and telling her how she was going to regret having him in jail, even if it wasn't her that called the fleas. Before he pulls the trigger he falls to the ground lifeless after the bedroom window shatters as a bullet goes into his head. I stalked him and followed him to her home to see what he'd do. After he is dead I leave."

"I had to stop something you were too stubborn to stop. You think I'm young and stupid, I think you're old and senile. You refused to save that woman's life because you think jailing him and restraining orders i going to stop a man from hurting someone. I also already know this city doesn't even have a death penalty, because blah, blah, blah, blah Spiritor Oppression, blah, blah, blah. Mom's told me all the crap and how this city runs. She's told me of the crime and how things easily get out of hand here. Mother is also a criminal herself, so she's taught me on the tricks they do. She told me how innocent they can play, too. Like the time she played you and Mogriil like fiddles to cause more unrest within the city while just playing a sweet, lovely lady just looking to help. So, I know about illusions, tricks, lying, paid jobs to get out of debt, yadda, yadda. "

She'd give Orion a long stare into his eyes. In her own eyes seemed to hold a fire of sincerity and dedication to wanting to do this job and do it as best she could. "I have been practicing for years, Orion. Since I was 10 I wanted to stop the bad people in the world. Mom's trained me a lot and dad has helped a good bit, too. I'll probably make mistakes along the way, but I bet you and the fleas have made a hell of a lot of mistakes with criminals being let loose to hurt and kill people. I know I'm not perfect, but I highly doubt your perfect either."

Orion Wolf

Orion leaned back hearing Amaia and his brows beetled making arches over his blue eye and leather eye patch. The girl was putting in some heavy jabs at the old Lupe as well as the Laws of Den City and how their system worked. Orion was very quiet as he listened to her explain things more and even outlining things with her example of a drunken mate beating his wife, jailed, released and out to beat her again as well as kill her with a gun bought off of the black market. Orion put his hands together and steepled his fingers, staring at Amaia more like a very wise predator that was about spring and snap the neck on a youngling prey too foolish to know better.

Myrlene was sensing her uncles unease and stayed silent and sipped more at her beer. She didn't know Amaia, being a new family member recently met, so sticking her neck out for the girl was a bit beyond her mood at the moment. Jim was sensing the Lupes were get cagey and the Felinae was starting to get fluffed a bit. He was eyeing the office door, making sure he had a clear route of escape if the old Lupe went off his rocker.

Orion was no fool, he could see Myrlene and Jim tensing from his own agitation that Amaia was producing in him. This would not do, no it would not. He could not go off half cocked on this child. Too many issues and backlashes would happen if he did. So, once she was done explaining things as he had asked her to, he took a deep breath, let it out and rubbed his forehead a moment. He opened the container of cookies, took one out and pushed it to Amaia then took one for himself. He took a bite or two out of his as he chewed mentally on what she had said and was trying to grind apart the urge to smack the kid across the room.

"Okay, I can clearly see you are cut from your mothers bloodline with that mouth of yours. Can't do much about that. Bitch is inherited not taught. Now then. Thank you for explaining some things. Let me point some things out now. I may be a century old, but that is not elderly for an Erthrii; I am not senile either. Now if I thought all young people were idiots, Jim over there wouldn't be hired. He is only 15 and is an officer of DFLEA. Age has nothing to do with maturity, it is how a person is raised and shaped by their environment. Obviously, by how you have lived and your obvious parents and the family associated with them, I can only hazard to guess you are proficient in a lot of military training as well as have enough indoctrination to be an upright, outstanding model of an efficient serial killer just like Myrlene over there. Keep quiet Lene.

The fact you come from your mother and your father is why I have certain issues and questions because I know of them, I know of their history and of the disasters they leave behind them. The fact you come from anyone even associated with Ammy Spiritor raises a red flag that I should allow you to be weaponized without a constant watch. I don't know you. You are considered an unknown value in how things function in this city. That said, this is not meant to be personal and it is nothing against you; all people start from zero at some point. Calibration is what they call it.

From what you have explained, though, I feel at least you have competence in being able to back up the reasons why you chose a target to eliminate should you ever find yourself in a position of being captured by mistake by one of my officers. Don't try to deny it. As you said it yourself, we all make mistakes and we all get caught sometimes. So, you would know how you plan to follow your example criminal and would have no problem in a court of law if you were caught and arrested for murdering a man that never pulled the trigger, never shooting the woman and the only crime being aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Does the man deserve to die? Yes, he does once found guilty by review in court and shown to the public that he has repeatedly shown violent tendencies and drug abuse. Had he shot the woman and killed her on the spot, he'd be dead to rights, right there. Our laws do not allow murderers to live. You kill, you are killed on the spot, no questions, no trial, no court, it's a blood law.

What you outlined Amaia in your example is 'precognitive' and 'what-if' justice. Yes, the man did beat his wife, was arrested and she was put into protection and he has a record now. He's in the system. He'd be watched along with all the other criminals we monitor and watch. This would include Tyris' people tracking him and denying him buying a weapon. Tyris is helping me keep people from making stupid mistakes of their lives. Then again, lets say he gets the gun outside of Den City and still goes to harass his wife he found again. Anyone with a restraining order has a tracking bead planted in them to go off anytime they get near a victim wearing a special bracelet. That goes off, an officer is there in a matter of minutes. So say, the bracelet isn't worn, working the 'what-if' logic here. So he's there, beating her up, drunk, has a gun in his hand. You're somewhere watching this all going on. At any point you could call, could alert, could take him down in a non-lethal fashion and get him put in jail for good with a higher chance of death penalty, but you instead are going to wait until he points the gun at her and is about to pull the trigger? What if he doesn't pull the trigger? Hesitates? Changes his mind? What if you nail him and he never shot her? In this city, that makes you a murderer Amaia. Premeditated murder due to stalking, following and killing instantly. So if you were caught, you'd be the one getting gunned down.

That is just one possibility of things going wrong. What if you shoot him and he had buddies that found you and somehow subdue you? Rape you? Torture you and kill you? It may not go wrong. You may do very well. Again, not calling you dumb but you are playing with the fate of someone's life, not just the person you're killing but the victim as well as anyone related to the person you killed. Granted, letting him shoot her and kill her is not a perfect solution either. I don't like it, you don't like it, sometimes it is how life is. Evil is evil. But here is another thought. You stop him, what about the other several dozen drunks killing their wives or kids that you didn't stop that night? Then what? I am not bursting bubbles here, I just want to fill you in on how things work here in the real world and not wherever you got your training from. And before you bring up any crap god powers about knowing intent and that the person was going to kill the other person, don't. Many people in this city hate gods and hate mages. Start using that power and reasoning for your shootings and you'll have people trying to kill all mages and gods in our city because they can't stand someone with all that power doing something more than a mortal can do."

Orion leaned back and sighed, looking a little more aged. "Look kid. You have some good intentions. I admire it. I was like you and that life chewed me up and spit me out like left over zot-zot hide. It cost me an eye, a daughter and a wife. And that was back when it was a clear line of 'I am such and such faction and you are such and such faction, let's fight'. If it wasn't for Myrlene's damn step brother causing a coup and putting in his messed up laws, I'd be with you, using my rifle and happily shooting evil people in the city, but now these days, the lines of good and evil have blurred so much. And yes. Your mother has a lot of good points about how crappy the justice system runs and how some things don't work well here. We try our best to improve them, but it's not because of people panicking over going back to Spiritor rule. If it was Spiritor rule, your whole family would be dead Amaia. So would mine. So would half of the city. Mages would be citizens and everyone else indentured slaves. What we do is not that bad, but we do have to give people we catch due process to explain their actions and give them help if possible. If the person isn't able to change or be helped, then we must take a permanent action.

Half of our troubles is we often get people visiting from other areas of Rhy'din. So their ideas of right and wrong is that laws don't apply to them. It's a throbbing nightmare. If you think our city is trouble, step into Rhy'Din City. There, they have no laws like we have. They allow their people to rule by mobs, have their way and their government has no bite. You kill someone there, you may get away Scott free or have the whole town aiming to kill you. Here, it's a bit easier to sort things out. Speaking of your mother though, if she keeps yapping that muzzle of hers, I may have to visit that house and arrest her. She and Ammy and the rest of that family are only free because of a governor pardon that can be overturned if we have cause. Even Myrlene here is sitting on a thin line of free or arrested according to our laws. Most of the time, we just try not to add more headaches to our collective pain as is.

Now then, this is just covering the legal side of the table Amaia. If you do your vigilante work in this city, you'll be running into Tyris, my second in command. This city and Fang Wood city are his turf for black market and the underground. He has a lot of good people that do shady things. You may end up sniping one of his people which would land us both in hot water." he said to her. "Then again, if you were to, I don't know, have a communicator with a full scanner for all frequencies and maybe do a quick check in with us or tap our database to double check criminal records it may help some eyes to turn the other way." Orion said, trying to be helpful, somewhat.

Myrlene finished her beer and stared at her uncle. "So you still hate us all that much, Uncle? After all we did for the city?"

Orion shot Myrlene a hard stare. "Half of what you did for the city wouldn't be needed if you didn't do other things to bring trouble to our city to begin with. So, a small amount of hate still, but I am slowly strangling it out."

Amaia

Date: 2016-04-07 04:33 EST
Her ears twitched a bit in irritation while she listened to him. She understood so much, but she felt like he was belittling her and trying to make a fool out of her, even when she was trying to explain things to him in how she'd work. She refused the cookie and didn't say anything at first while she started taking apart her gun, pulling the weapon case back into her lap and began putting things back to where they belong.

As she finished packing she'd leave the case in her lap. "Firstly, don't confuse me for a mage or a god, because I am neither. I am something far, far different. Secondly, it's nice to know you don't care for me, my mother or my father. While my father can kill aimlessly without caring, my mother told me to come here and work with you. She wanted me to talk to you about any contacts on anything that may be too rough for you and relieve you of some stressful criminals, but it seems you'd rather not do that. I'll be sure to tell her myself how much you don't care for her family. Guess you people only like her for her cookies."

She'd stood and held her case in her hand as if getting ready to leave, "But you know what bugs me more than all that? Your insanity. You call me a murderer, but you will sit there and watch and wait for someone to pull the trigger. Waiting for someone to die should make you a criminal, but I guess that's hard to become one when you've got the license to let innocent people die while you watch idly with a smirk on your face, but I bet you were singing a different tune when your family died, right? You're just like my uncle Aribius, who I don't quite entirely care for either. Oh, sure, it's all dandy to threaten to eat peoples kids, but someone threatens his kids and he's all friggin bonkers." She was giving him an evil stare while she was talking with him, too. "And my example was just that, an example. It's what you wanted and then you tear into me for it. But as far as I'm concerned now you're already going on my crap list. I've heard the city has had some issues, which is why I came and was eager to help, but apparently your department and specifically you is probably a cause of a lot of issues as it is. Being slackers, letting people die, not doing something until it's way too late. Sounds like you're even bought and paid for by the underground."

She took a deep breath and clenched her hand around the handle of her case, "And by the way, no one will catch me, because you don't know what I am and if you don't know what I am, I doubt you know who my parents really are. I never said what I was going to do was the most moral thing in the world. I never came here as an angel sent from the heavens to cleanse the world of evil. I came, simply, with the goal of just wanting to help out in some way I can, but you don't want it. And if you did want it, you proved to me you don't need it. I told you I was willing to work with the system and you ignored it completely. You're not worth helping. If anything, you're going to need to earn my help now if I even change my mind." She began moving for the door and would stop by it, "I'll be watching your city burn from the shadows and watching things spin out of control while you sit here behind your desk waiting for something bad to have already happened. Well, if you have any officers left by then. I mean, if a guy walked into this office with a loaded machine gun, threatening people, aiming at them, he's totally innocent dude. He just happens to have a machinegun, until he fires on everyone and kills them in one volley."

That was when she looked at Jim, "Bet you got a sidearm somewhere under that desk for emergencies. Would you shoot the guy or would you let him shoot your friends first because you mistaken him for a loudmouthed gun enthusiast?" she asked him now. She knew he didn't like or want to fight, but she was maybe putting him on the spot for a reason, to see what someone like him would really do.

Amaia was feeling very upset though. She was under the impression she'd get to work with some people to avoid some problems, but she felt like she was being nothing but denied, ridiculed and shamed. She had trained much for battle, but she hadn't really experienced a social circumstance such as this. She wasn't even sure if she could trust herself and contain her anger before she did something that her mother wouldn't forgive her for. In a way, she felt like she was maybe going to get ganged up here, but knowing what Lene said it seemed she wasn't the only one that felt upset with someone talking bad about her family. She was ready to leave, but she was waiting for Jim's answer, wanting to know what action he would take.

Myrlene was staying quiet through the whole farce but had had enough of this. She stood quietly and a thrum of power would be felt. The office door would be locked tight and the doors themselves reinforced with magic.

"Okay you clowns. I've had enough of the bickering. Uncle, sit down and shut up. Remember, me? The efficient, murdering serial killer that's also a god? Yeah, don't make me send a memo to Frost saying he needs a new replacement. I'd have to juggle paperwork with Captain Jubal, but I could manage it." Myrlene said. Her eyes glowed slightly, a hint of frost swirled around her patching her red DFLEA uniform with wintry pink.

"Myrlene! You dare order me..." Orion said.

Myrlene looked to Orion and the slightest motion was seen as razor sharp icicles thumped into the glass case behind him, nicking one of his ears barely.

"No. You will listen and yes I will order you. Being a former governor of this damn city, a city my mother founded, bled for and died for, I have a say in this matter. You were appointed this position by Frost as you were the most capable man at the time with your background as the last Crimson Paw Renegade survivor in Lupinoss. You, yourself would know what tyranny and corruption would look like. This woman here . . ." She pointed to Amaia " . . . is trying to assist you in clearing the dead wood that is piling up because you wear a badge that ties your hands in doing the needed dirty work no one wants to talk about. Yeah, it's dirty as hell and vile. So what? Any dirtier than what we are doing out in the countryside? Hunting down families that are selling drugs? Killing people on site for selling? Look, she may be a child from Mirius, but don't hold both of my mother's pasts against her. They have both paid their dues in making up for their shit. Just like I have. You just can't get over the fact that the laws system let Vuusoolta Wolf walk away Scott free while your son got pinned with all of the murders ordered by Vuusoolta to start the coup. It's eating you alive, isn't it?"

Orion glared at Myrlene with an intensity that'd make any lesser Lupe piddle on the spot. Mylene shrugged off the Alpha vibes like water and locked her stare with Orion as if he was just an oversized puppy that had its bone taken.

"If she had legitimate weaknesses, I wouldn't be in your face right now, but she's calling you out and I don't want to see this city with another possible ally turned enemy against us. Yeah, our laws are slippery and Frost has been working on fine tuning them at some point but the governor has his hands tied too because you throw a ton of laws at people and they'll revolt feeling they have no choices in life. Right now our city is in the rough stages of progress and improvement. No easy solution to any problem." She said the last to both Orion and Amaia.

Myrlene would let Orion stew in silent anger. She could care less about the whole respect your elders rule. He drug her family's name through the mud enough that he forfeited that privilege today. She looked to Amaia for the time being.

"You shouldn't leave just yet as you've only dealt with the law side. As you can see. It's not perfect, its full of crap and a lot of things we don't like. I got out of the force long time ago because I was like you. I am only back in as a consultant on a drug case that is spiraling out of control and I damn sure could use a sniper I could trust in the field popping heads like daisies without hesitations. That being said, DFLEA isn't bought out by Tyris. This city has tried going lawless like Rhy'Din City once. All we had was murders in the street, slavery and bloodshed daily and we only had a small population of three thousand people then. We then tried to do the whole, upright and law abiding thing and the rulers found all the ways to abuse the system which is why my step brother... did what he did and even tried to frame me for some of the murders too.

What we have now is a dual system Amaia. To the public, the Law appears and for the most parts functions to serve immediate justice where possible. Death dealing being a slightly harder thing to do with it, but when it's not a public thing, that's where Tyris comes in. What Orion can't do Legally, Tyris does. It's like this right now. Orion has to follow the rules while you are coming here and asking if you can help us by being out there and breaking the rules and remaining hidden. But this dual system has a price. Any city or place of habitation must allow its people to have two things. A sense of safety, the Law, and a sense of relaxation, the Underside. If you get Law and Underside working together, then the minor things are gray areas and worked out and the major things stopped and the city runs just fine. It's a tight balance that needs all players in the puzzle to be on the same page. Orion is not the best in explaining that part.

Granted, he doesn't visit our family much so he is not aware of how much our parents go through to insure all of us children that are out here running around are trained and taught to do and behave. So, before you walk out that door, please, don't let miscommunications burn down a vital bridge here. Even if the old Wolf can't see it, I can see uses for you in multiple levels of this cities needs as well as in Fang Wood, the country side, hell, once you get your feet wet there, I may have pull to get you to meet someone in Rhy'Din City. I just ask for patience Amaia. I know your mother and she has the same temper my mother has and that means you and I burn hot in attitude. All I ask is just wait a little longer before making your final decision. In fact . . ." She looked at Jim.

"Jim. You're already a little familiar with Amaia. Why don't you give her a full tour of the DFLEA Facility and maybe see if she can find some upgrades in the armory free of charge while I have some private discussions with the Commissioner?"

Jim was curled up a bit on the couch, fur very poofed. He was told he was just going to do dispatch. Take calls, direct peoples questions, paperwork, he never knew he'd have to witness Lupes getting feral and snarly much less seeing the Lieutenant have one of her goddess moments. The words from Amaia snapped Jim out of his little panic cycle and he took a moment to breath, his claws, unsheathed, scoring lines across the glass of the beer bottle in stress stammered a bit. "I'd . . . I'd . . . I'd . . . shoot first ask later cause I'm a coward and don't want to be shot first." He said to Amaia. Hearing Myrlene Jim knew she was giving him an out from the fur flying that was getting ready to happen. He'd uncurl and slink over to Amaia by the door.

Myrlene looked to them both for a moment, something that looked like regret at not acting sooner and perhaps regret for treating Amaia icily earlier on her face. She let the magic go on the door. "Go take the tour, just, please don't leave the grounds yet Amaia. I am sure Tyris is on his way."

Jim stood by the door, unsure now what would happen if he left the Lieutenant alone with the Commissioner. Would they have a fight? No, if that happened, one would die for sure and he knew who it'd be. "Do you want to see... the rest of the facility?" Jim asked Amaia.

Amaia

When the door was locked and a magical barrier was put on it, Amaia reached up and was ready to take off her collar to raise hell that someone would dare get in her way. Before any action was taken, she heard Myrlene stepping up and even defending her and her family a bit. Her free hand by her collar stopped and lowered to her side and she turned to look towards Myrlene to listen to all she had to say. It had caught her attention quite quickly. Being some form of stepsister may have added to it as well.

When all was said and done with everyone though Amaia just sighed and didn't leave through the door just yet. "if you have such a problem with m then why didn't you people just send me to another person? You know, a lead on who to really talk to about all this business? I only came here because my mother wanted me to. She wanted you to know who was out there. And before anyone repeats themselves again, I really, really, really don't care what people think about me in terms of me being the evil boogieman of the night coming to eat your soul if you're naughty. I really don't. Just like the people who want the world to burn. You people having ants in your pants about what they're doing isn't going to stop them. If a rival gang comes after me, so what. I don't care. I really don't. Gives me a chance to get rid of more idiots faster. I am not asking to be part of DFLEA because, again, my mother sent me here to be polite instead of you all thinking there was some maniac running around the city and she seems to really trust you people because she said I wouldn't have any problems to at least just to come here to talk. And you people can chase me all damn day for being a criminal as well, because I really don't care."

She'd let out a long sigh and spoke a little more, "Me having any of your stuff from an armory would be a bad idea anyways. To allow me to kill people, and telling the public you don't support what I do is one thing in an old trick book. Give the illusion I'm hated. Again, I don't care. But if people see me using your stuff that's just asking for it, really. I got my own things anyways, so I think I'm good." She then continued with an apology specifically for Jim, "And you're not a coward, Jim. It's called self-defense. It isn't cowardice. And... sorry to put you on the spot like that. Didn't mean to upset you. You've been nice to me today." she said with ending her last statement in a more gentle tone now.

The Black Fangs

The door knob of the office would turn and the door would open, revealing a tall, black furred Erthrii lupe, wearing a a DFLEA uniform and a light jacket covering his arms. As he opened the door his eyes looked around the room seeing an angry looking Orion, a freaked out Jim with his fur all poofed out, and two short, purple furred people smaller than him. One he knew well, the other was a new face. Tyris, though, let out a long sigh seeing things were already going bad before he arrived. There wasn't much he could do or say at first, but he would start off with at least finding out what was going on. "Alright, Jim's fur is poofed, Orion is peeved, and Lene has that rebellious look on her face and I presume the tall-eared one is the new face. What the hell is going on here? It better be something worth it because my wife was looking to my time off today to watch movies together." he asked. While Tyris wasn't mad himself, he was just wanted clarity in what the heck was going on and why people seemed so tense. He did ask calmly so no more tension was added to the situation even if he did seem slightly annoyed.

Orion Wolf

Orion just let out a tired snarl, sat down at his desk and gave Myrlene the bird. "I'll sort you out later, Myrlene. You have a lot to learn about your place in this damn city."

He'd then look to Amaia and glower. "While my Lieutenant here, and that position is temporary and tenuous with her behavior and her mouth, made some good points I still have to be guarded in my assessment of you Amaia. Yes, you can be a very valuable asset to cleaning up Den City and Fang Wood City by taking the vilest criminal trash permanently. Unfortunately, at this time, and I agree with you, Amaia, to announce that we are both working with a vigilante and letting her kill at will while telling people to obey laws and to not kill each other would make DFLEA seem even more two faced. The law isn't perfect. Unfortunately, no one is perfect as you pointed out Amaia, but as soon as we remove laws and let people just go back to an eye for an eye, the body counts rise, no one is safe, and we are back to the days where slavers can roll right in and take over. And I can guarantee you, the day that happens, you'll see her family..." he hooked a thumb to Myrlene, "come out of their self imposed, 'Oh we are peaceful God's' bullshit and watch them either save or wipe out the city. We are only allowed to manage this city as a people without their noses in it because we are showing we are trying, failing often yes, but we are trying. Perfect, no. Trying, yes."

He looked back to Myrlene. "I was assigned this position by Frost because he wanted a spot where he could watch me. He hasn't trusted me since the day he prosecuted my son and couldn't get him the death penalty. Frost would rather see me and Mogriil dead. So don't get stupid, little girly idea's in your dense head about that old sod. His play ground wasn't fields of grass. It was royal courtrooms listening to rulers deal with their people and handle a lot of situations.

However, if you really think you have that much pull in this city with Frost, you little shit, go ahead, get me pulled as a commissioner. Get yourself burned with the other agencies outside of Den City with the Brimstone Taskforce. The sooner you realize, Myrlene, that your family status means jack shit to me or this town the faster you'll understand that hard work is valued more. I've been out there on the streets way more than you have been, working with people, taking bullets, shooting, arresting and even killing several criminals to keep the peace. When uppity young people with no official training, no field testing just show up with fire power, or mystical powers and suddenly want to start killing people in the name of justice or some self imposed sense to live a meaningful life, call my old and senile if you want but that makes anyone antsy. Often those young people either burn out, die or go the dark side and become the problem we have to deal with.

If you want to do something with Amaia, that's your call Myrlene. Officially, DFLEA can't be tied to a vigilante. It's a conflict of interest with our laws. However, that being said, Amaia, we appreciate you coming and informing us of your intentions. I will inform my officers of how you operate and that if at all possible, to try and not to cross your path so their wont be difficulties or mistakes on our part." Orion said as he rubbed his chin looking a bit old and tired.

Myrlene rubbed her face feeling dismissed like a puppy again. "Pompous, arrogant male, I should drag you out to the courtyard and challenge you to a blood duel, but that'd be a waste of time and energy because you'd just arrest me for breaking several laws." She ground her teeth and glared at Orion.

Jim looked to the door as it opened to see Tyris entering into the office. After the Erthrii Lupe spoke, Jim gushed like a dam and started talking a lot. "Thank the gods you're here Captain Tyris. I think Orion and Myrlene want to kill each other, but then I'd have to arrest one for murder unless Amaia shoots the killer first. No, wait, I'd still have to arrest someone. I don't know anymore." He tried to smooth his poofed out fur some. "Captain Tyris, this is Amaia. She is a daughter of Mirius Spiritor. She came here today wanting to offer services or to find out if there are any local problems with very evil people that need to check out permanently. She's a military trained sniper by her parents and she's wanting to do some good. Orion is pissed because I think... she might be better than him. Myrlene though is trying to maybe offer Amaia some work through other means that are not related to DFLEA because our laws suck and she wanted Amaia to meet you, being the leader of the Underworld side of the two cities." He tried to explain to bring Tyris up to speed.

The Black Fangs

Date: 2016-04-13 18:48 EST
"Thanks Jim. Don't have to stick around for this if you don't want to." Tyris would say to Jim. He knew the young man really didn't need or want to be involved with the ruckus going on in the office, especially when it had little to do with him it seemed. Hearing the fussing going on with Myrlene and Orion though had Tyris bothered to a degree. He'd go to rest his back against the wall, being out of the way of the door for anyone to leave freely, and would look at them all for a moment and listening before speaking. Even if Tyris didn't catch the whole story of what was going on, he felt he only needed to hear part of the fuss already, "Orion, may I remind you that every portion of this city is corrupt in some way, including DFLEA. You are included. I have eyes and ears on every corner of this city and I know the things you have been involved with. This including a certain harlot that's been jailed probably every week for doing something she shouldn't have, including killing people, and she gets off with a smack on her rear. Let's not forget what I have done alone and the position I am in on this force." Tyris said calmly, but firmly.

Seeing the two young ladies were as ruffled, in just facial expression alone, along with the old wolf though he'd try to calm them down as well, "Ladies, would like to ask for no more insults or threats. Especially you, Myrlene. You're too much like your mother." he said with a little smile. That smile did fade to a more serious look as he continued to speak, getting straight to business, "So, we have a mercenary for hire." he said looking to Amaia. She was the one sticking out in this situation. "So, you're undoubtedly the one named Amaia that I was texted about. Considering you're the daughter of Mirius, no doubt you have some power under your belt, whatever that may be. Those soultrii pass their power on to their children quite easily it seems." he said, as if examining everything about Amaia. Sure, the kid didn't look like a lupe, but he knew enough about the Spiritor family and he honestly wasn't going to wade through the deep ocean of complexity that goes on in the family of why the kid looks like a bunny. "Don't worry, Amaia, I have no hatred for those with magic. My wife is predominantly a healer, although she has practiced in many other areas as well."

"Now, before you go thinking I'm some evil doer that has control of the city, Amaia, I don't. Yes, I got a lot of dirt on everyone, but I don't want to see this city fall. I have been helping things economically behind the scenes. I have been helping get rid of other, even old, rival gangs and traitors that were ruining this city. I have helped your mother in many circumstances, especially bringing in many new resources with my connections, to help bring this city up to date. Many wondered how this den could even afford such massive amount of things in a very little amount of time. Well, it's quite easy when you own banks and things in various areas. And before you get uppity, neither your mother nor this city owes me anything in that respect. Orion and I come from the same world, a torn world, our homelands destroyed and burned to the ground. Helping make this city a better place means very much to myself and my family. That is why I work with DFLEA and the government in multiple ways. But, in the dark corners of this city there's still people wishing to burn this place down. Not many as before, but there is some that still remain. Some of which we even thought were rid of before and dead, but are still quite alive." he said.

He'd look to Orion before talking to the young lady more and speak to him, wondering if he should take it to another room to let the old wolf have a break. "Orion, if you like, I can take the girls out of your fur and deal with them myself. I'll take them to my office and chat with them there about some things. I could have some uses for Amaia I think. I have been looking for people like her for some possible future projects I wish to create or assist with at some point. You need not worry about her if I deal with her. You know I clean up the messes I make quite well." he said, giving some implication that he would take care of any ordeals that might revolve around Amaia and give the old wolf a break.

Myrlene Spiritor

Date: 2016-04-18 23:58 EST
Jim saw his cue and exit strategy in the opening Tyris gave him. He gave the big Erthrii Lupe a warm smile and headed for the door. He would pause a moment and look back to Amaia. "Hey, uhm, Amaia. Ever need anything. Let me know?" He'd then dart out of the office as he caught Orion giving him a very nasty glare with his one blue eye.

With Jim out of the office, Orion settled his look briefly on Myrlene with irritation and then settled on Amaia with a small fraction of irritation before swinging fully to bear on Tyris. He may have seen that Orion was looking quite worn and a bit old. Perhaps the old Wolf was getting a bit ragged from doing a lot between DFLEA, JBTF and Cafe Lupe. Or perhaps his five children all now in school were starting to be a handful as well. Either way, Orion rubbed his face, let out a long low sigh and leaned back in his chair.

"I honestly don't know what to think or say anymore Tyris. Everyone wants something that doesn't exist; Perfect Justice and Perfect Law without the cost of losing any freedoms to their own actions. I'm tired, I'm getting old, and I know too much is a farse. But a farse is all I have to give to the people of Den City. I'm hung either way I go Tyris. So do as you wish with the girls as you see fit." Orion said. He closed his one blue eye as if in silent defeat and remained quiet. Maybe a nap or just a momentary glimpse of surrender to a never ending battle all law enforcers faced.

Myrlene hear Tyris and sighed. "At least I am not blowing up half of the city or leading chaotic things into this place to kill people. I might have my mothers attitude, but I am trying to help and not let potential assets get tossed aside because of stubbornness, pride or ego." She rubbed her face. "Yeah. Let's talk in your office. I think I've about given uncle all the heart attacks he can handle today. Tell your wife I'm sorry we pulled you away. Hopefully this wont be too long and I'll throw in some private get away gift cards or something." She said to Tyris and would stand, ready to go.

The Black Fangs

Date: 2016-04-19 04:25 EST
Tyris did sigh softly hearing Orion giving up. He knew the old wolf had a hard life and he certainly wasn't going to try to prod the wolf any. They both came from the same, old broken world, so he knew how Orion felt with things. "I know, Orion." he said gently, "And I wouldn't say it's a farce. Our home den in the old country wasn't a farce either. This city has only gotten better because of the caring nature of people like you, even if you don't like showing how caring you are. You do have a lot of your father in you." he gave a little grin to that. "Just don't worry about the girls here. Regardless of how wild their goals are, I'll be the one to deal with them. I'll even slap them around for you if I need to. Save your energy for smacking your own kids when they need it." he said chuckling now.

As he'd start moving out the door he'd speak to Orion first and then the girls, "I'll meet up with you at the cafe when you're off, Orion. Maybe a few drinks can be had." he said with a gentle offer. It was more or less a statement of maybe the two of them hanging out and getting to relax and talk about things later, maybe vent their frustrations that they go through daily that came with the job. "Come, ladies. My office. We'll talk there. Would like you to tell me about yourself in there, too, Amaia. Want to know what I'm going to work with and I'll see if you're fit for any jobs. With guidelines, of course." he said. Once he was finished speaking he'd move out of the room and to another room that was his own. It was only a short walk away and he would open a door that had his name labeled on it. He would wait for the two girls to walk through first before himself, though. He wanted to be polite to hold the door open for them and if they both did enter he'd close the door behind them and go to sit on a leather chair behind his own desk. His room would be rather plain, with just a few chairs, a couch and maybe a few pictures of his family on his desk

Amaia

Date: 2016-04-19 06:03 EST
Amaia would have listened to everyone, not interrupting as they all talked. While she was quiet she did do some thinking on what was said and even the words that she blurted out earlier. It seemed Myrlene and Tyris were on her side of things and were wanting to work with her, but seeing Orion giving up and looking so tired of everything made her feel a bit bad. She could hear the sincerity in his words. She'd nod to Tyris agreeing to come with him and she'd give Jim a nod too before he left the room.

As Tyris left though, she looked to Orion first feeling guilty on lashing out at him. She was sure if she didn't apologize her mother would tan her hide for upsetting the old guy. A long sigh was given and she spoke softly, "I'm... sorry, Orion. I didn't come here to fight. Just.. wanting to help somehow." she said calmly. As she went to the door she'd look back to him, "I'll, uhm.. talk to you later sometime, mister Orion." she said softly before moving out of the room and following Tyris to his office.

Whenever she entered his office she went to sit in a chair and set her weapon case on the floor. She looked around the rather plain room for a moment maybe just getting a sense of what the man was like when it came to decoration, but there wasn't much to go off of besides the pictures. While she would be speaking mostly towards Tyris at the moment, she wouldn't mind if Lene was there to listen and talk with, too, if she came with them, "So, you guys have some stuff I might can do? What guidelines is there? And what kind of jobs do I have to do to prove myself?" she asked, already having questions. "And.. .what's up with the old guy? Mom didn't say he was going to go nuts. And before I go helping, I'd like to know exactly what y'all do, too. Who am I helping here?"

Myrlene Spiritor

Date: 2016-04-19 16:34 EST
Orion opened his eye to look at Tyris as he was leading the way out for the girls. "I know. Tyris. Some days I wish I knew what my father thought or wanted of me." Voice still tired. "I'm an old relic like their parents that should be in a museum somewhere. Catch you at the Cafe. Drinks on me." Orion said.

Hearing Amaia, he watched her a moment, perhaps a small trace of amusement in that face dusted with white hair. "You may be like your mother, but you have sincerity and a proper heart in you. I'll give you the only advice an old Wolf can give you, Amaia. Trust your heart, and trust yourself. Be careful out there."

Myrlene listened and would let Tyris and Amaia leave and she'd hang back for a few seconds while her and Orion were left alone in the office. "Uncle, I'm sorr..."

"Lene, save it. Don't apologize. If there is one thing that I've learned today in this office is that old dogs like me can't keep barking at young pups like you to keep to old ways. The old ways were good, the got us to this point, but that is their problem. They can only get us so far. Us old dogs, me, your mom, your dad, the rest of your older family members, one day Lene, we're going to be gone. Old age, war, insanity, self-exile, villainy take your pick on whatever face destiny will throw at each of us, but the fact is this, Lene, the old guard is just that. Old. Tired. Fading.

We need more of you, of that girl Amaia and teachers for.... the ones to come that need to learn what do, like my kids and yours and your mothers. So don't apologize for doing what was right in front of my face. You did your mother's legacy proud here today. You're not a tool Lene. You've got thoughts, a heart, a mind, principles, and by damn a very strong will to see a lot of things in your mind through. Don't lose that. Don't become me. A faded has been spending his last century slowly losing effectiveness in what I once loved. So you go out there and you get them girl. Grab them by their ass, tail, balls whatever you can reach and give them a ride or fight they wont forget. Okay? Make this old uncle proud." Orion said quietly.

Myrlene's ears twitched a bit low and her senses flowed out to check Orion. For a moment she was worried with his sudden change in behavior that he was ill but he was not. His body was as healthy as it could be for a 100 year old Erthrii, and there was the problem. He was simply getting old. Time was now becoming a new enemy for him with each coming year and it stole a lot of the anger and self righteousness out of her. She'd live forever being a very young goddess, but for once she saw someone right here that she was often fond of as a family member facing mortality coming like a patient predator. That realization moved her to do something she never thought of.

"Uncle, I want you to ask Tyris at some point to give you some time off and cover things for you here." She walked over and put her hand on the top of his desk. A small flash of power and a solid, never melting crest of Den Wolf in Ice appeared on the desk top. "When you are ready for a vacation. See me, speak to this, and I will be with you. I have someone you need to meet. He is like you, running out of time as he ages and I believe he'd love to meet you finally."

Orion looked at the ice crest a long moment. "Who?"

"Your father, Orion. He is still alive. Mull it over then find me." Lene said.

She left his office and went over to Tyris' office and smiled to him and Amaia as the girl was speaking. She caught some of what Amaia had said. Lene leaned against his desk and relaxed.

"You're family, so you don't have to prove yourself to me. I know what you are. Though my question is, can you handle what I am?" Myrlene said to Amaia. "I am Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor, Lady Winterpaws, ruler of the coming Kingdom of Winterpaws, Deity of Winter, Goddess of Ice and Lightning. I know your mother and your father. Your father and I have . . . . let's just say you may meet someone at some point that you may find interesting, that said, I know you have the Godslayer Power in you and that collar mutes it. It is why I was frigid earlier. I am sorry. I recently lost someone to a Godslayer and I am still grieving for them. As to what I do, I was helping with a special team that goes around locking down and wiping out drug dealers and drug Lords and anyone that usually tends to cause a lot of trouble when I am not a full time Nurse to a Flight Squadron in Space. Don't ask. I'm very complicated. I'm also someone that can be quite evil depending on the day and situation if I have to be. It's how I was raised. As to guidelines I think that the big guys game, not mine. I just know you can do some good.

And don't let Orion ruffle you bad, Amaia. As Tyris said, many of us around here have had some nasty pasts and lives. If we didn't, we'd be all dead. But I think you did call it a bit. Time is catching up with him. And Tyris, you may really want to talk to him, he's starting that whole 'You are the future' BS again with me." Lene said to Amaia and Tyris.

The Black Fangs

Date: 2016-04-20 05:13 EST
Tyris would move to sit down in his chair and rest his hands on the desk, listening to the girls speak. Amaia had fair questions he thought and he was going to let Lene say her part before he spoke. He did manage to chuckle to the last part of Lene's statement. "I'm going to use that on my own son just to ruffle his fur. He hates responsibility or anything having to be of importance on his end." he said chuckling more. "But, he's not entirely wrong." Tyris did add.

With a long sigh he'd look to Amaia, thinking of the words to say to her that would sound right or explain what he was or to offer. "New blood is always needed to continue the fight for order. People are needed like you young ladies, but things must happen reasonably. We can't just go killing random people. We must have order, even if someone has to die." he said in a calm, firm tone. "I'll tell you what I do and my history, Amaia, so you know who and what you're dealing with, as you asked."

He'd take a moment before he continued, "For a long time, since the old country, I've been working with the underground. I dealt anything from drugs, weapons, armor, to daily goods that helped people. Smugglers, basically. But, sometimes we were mercenaries for hire, too. We even had to fight rival groups that wanted to put us out of business permanently. In the old country, I sold goods to every den, whether it was counterfeit items, fake goods or the real stuff. Although, through my years of progress I began leaning more onto the side of smuggling and killing.. for good reasons. More so after some very harsh decisions came in my life, family being killed because of my affiliations and my home den being in trouble during war time. My home den was the same as Orion's, by the way. We came from the same place."

"So, I began doing more.. immoral, good underground work. Supplying fake items to the enemies of my home den, while making profit and helping my own den. Although, with a few meetings of Wolf himself, he didn't exactly like my kind. His den was more about complete justice, being perfect, but accepting everyone. Then again, I may've caused some bad blood with him before, maybe I had gotten a bad reputation with him somehow, I was never too sure. But, bad people did exist in his den, Amaia, and while some cases I did kill the bad people, my people were less.. discrete about it at the time. We were even shaming the Spiritors and others, trying to get people to realize bad things were going to happen by accepting people in randomly for refuge. We were kicked out by the guards of the city. We weren't the only ones to try. Many did try. Eventually, our den was attacked from the inside out, destroyed, burned to the ground. Orion's life shattered, and me and my now-wife, family and friends had to search for a new home." he said.

Though before he rambled on too much, he would start getting to the point, "When I came here to Rhy'Din, Amaia, I saw this den here trying to evolve into something better. It has these days. Orion and myself, though, have these fears sometimes of this den having the same issue. Orion wants order, because he knows it needs to be there, and his father wasn't wrong for wanting order and justice. Orion also knows my side is needed, which is why he lets me work here, but I've learned from my mistakes. Amaia, if you accept any jobs from me I want you to respect everything DFLEA is and stands for. These people put their lives on the line to keep this city safe and secure and trying to be rational about it. Same goes with you, Lene. Please don't give Orion hell. I know what he's been through and what happened to our home lives with us every day. It really isn't easy and even sometimes I think maybe if I went a better way about my past, maybe Wolf would've accepted my warning. Working underground you hear a lot of things and I'm sure Orion thinks if he did something different one day maybe he could've saved the den, too, even as a youngster. Sadly, we'll never know the answer because we already lost everything."

"Anyways, that's who I am, what I've somewhat dealt with and leads to what I now do. Amaia, what I stand for now is order in a secretive way. I know I'm not in the best of reputations in this city, nor is my gang the Black Fangs, but we're trying to improve. We've become more helpful in the community, we've stopped selling harmful drugs. We do sell unlicensed weapons, but we do keep an eye on who buys what. Everything we do is recorded, no exceptions. Not for DFLEA, but for our own interest mostly. Helps keep us safe. Now, there's still bad people out there. We sometimes keep other groups or small packs in line before they go trying to make some insane, psychotic gang that's going to harm a lot of innocent people. I know Lene will remember this one, the Blood Claws. We had an incursion with them some time ago, a lot of people got hurt. Orion was even involved to help rescue some kidnapped people. The Blood Claws harmed a lot of people, they sold people as slaves, did unspeakable things to people in their hideouts, they'd sell harmful drugs to make a few bucks even. These same people also used to be part of gang back in the old country, so you can see how far I've come."

He'd lean back to recline in his chair, crossing his arms and watching the girls a moment before continuing, "Amaia, if you work for me, you will be paid fairly. You'll be treated fairly. But, you're going to have to abide by my underground rules. Much of the underground in Den City is mine and if you go shooting the wrong people we'll definitely have some conflicts of interest here. Now, before you think it'll be a problem, it shouldn't as long as you play nice. I'll give you any answers about people you want, I'll show you any records we have on them, what they do, what their trade is, how bad their criminal record is. Not everyone deserves to die, Amaia, although some could have their butts simply kicked to get them in line, which I'd pay you for, too. I do have eyes around this city, though, so you shouldn't worry too much on lack of information about any potentially bad targets." he said. "But, as I said, I want to do some proving jobs with you. A few different targets to go after. Each one will have their own rule sets of how to be dealt with. Order must be maintained, even in the underground, Amaia. Not all missions will be kill missions, but some will require force no doubt. You'll even be equipped with anything you ever need per mission should you prove well in the beginning contracts I find for you."

With a long sigh, knowing he's probably talked their ears off, he'd finally come with his ending statements, "Don't get me wrong, Amaia, there's very bad people around still, some that do need to be rid of permanently, but I just want to get to know how you work is all. It's as simple as that. In some cases, I'll even let you go as wild as you want. More so if it's not within the Den City walls. What happens outside these walls is your business mostly, but we do need to be careful in the den itself. That's all I'm asking of you. So, what do you say? Or did I yap the pair of ears off the both of you?" he said with a little smile to the end of his statement, although his entire, lengthy speech was meant to be taken seriously. Tyris did really want to look out for the wellness of Den City and didn't want chaos to break out.

Amaia

Date: 2016-04-21 18:56 EST
Before Amaia had left out of the door, she did get to hear what Orion had to say to her, mostly having responded to that with a nod. When she was in Tyris's office and listening to Myrlene and Tyris, she'd let them speak wanting to know what their answers to her questions were. Listening to Myrlene, though, she thought she would get away from all the god stuff that went on in the family, but that didn't seem to be an option right now. No fuss was going to be made of it all. She would wait for the answer from Tyris, listening to his story, thinking over his past and what he now served and stood for. She felt she had gotten herself into a bit of an odd situation. Working with a god and an old criminal that she would've probably killed so long ago. Amaia got lost in thought as some words for Orion did come back into her mind that she couldn't really just kill anyone she simply saw as bad. Tyris being an example there it seemed.

Amaia let out a sigh, with some frustration in her thoughts, before making a response, "Swear mom doesn't make crap easy for me when she gives me a clue on how to do something." A slight smile did appear on her face after saying that before adding, "Okay, so you're a goddess Lene and Tyris is a criminal trying to do more acts of good and trying to make up for his past... or something." She'd give them both a long look as if trying to figure out how to work with them or if she should just call it quits. Then again, her mother really trusted these people and always talked so highly of them. She must've been sent here with good reason, but somewhere deep down she still felt she wasn't sure.

"Okay, so, I have an idea that I hope you guys won't take the wrong way. I'll accept the guidelines of what goes on in the city as I'm sure mom would rip my wings off if I did something bad, too. You seem more than willing to actually get rid of the people that want to disrupt life in the worst ways, Tyris, so I'll work with your guidelines. The one thing I want is I want to be able to walk away from all this without issues if I don't agree with how things go on here. I'm saying this for my mom's sake though. I don't want to cause her any grief with me running around and fighting family and friends of hers. So, if I do jobs for you Tyris, and Myrlene the goddess, and I disagree, you'll both just let me walk away, right? I've already seen what binding contracts and other things do to people. It's bad enough I see it a lot when it involves my mother, her family and my weird freaking uncle. I'm asking this now as if there's going to be some kind of binding contract I'd like to leave this room in a peaceful manner before things get bad and I'll continue my business by other means."

She did look to Myrlene real quick though and wanted to add more clarification to Myrlene ragarding her stance on gods while she was in this realm, "And Myrlene, I won't have any ill will against you for being a goddess. From what I know, you're not exactly part of my mom's old god war bullcrap. And yes, my powers are mostly muted. Mom taught me to be responsible with my powers. She told me of how she's a mate of your mom, who is also a goddess. I didn't come here to fight gods either just so you know. I came to put down regular, bad folks that probably do more harm than most gods ever do. That's why I'm here. If a god gets in my way, so be it, but I'm not here for them. Plus... you're my stepsister. I don't want to hurt family. Even if I don't know you all that well yet."

Myrlene Spiritor

Myrlene listened to Amaia and held up her hands peacefully. "Hey, as far as I am concerned, you are coming to me or Tyris for bounty's or jobs. You hold the cards, you have the rights to take or walk at any point. It's not like I'd give you a job then hunt you down if you fail or say no. I'm not that type of person. If I'm asking for you help, it's because I damn well need someone watching my back. I'm decent with fire arms but that's it. Hand to hand and magic is my specialty."

She would leave her lean against the desk and walk over to Amaia a put a hand on her shoulder. "I only asked if what I am would be an issue because I know sometimes, from experience, some powers have a will of their own. My powers do it to me sometimes when I am not careful and I am glad you are a very responsible young woman with what you have. And trust me, I try to avoid all the god BS too. I just want to do my jobs, go home to my own kids and relax. Being a goddess is just a job title to me, that's all. I am not my mother." Lene smirked a bit.

"But yeah. The real world here is very messy when it comes to 'bad people' compared to what Uncle Aribius has set up in Lurky Land." She'd take her hand off and look to Tyris to see how the big guy would play his end of things. Her own mind was working on things, as she was feeling the Joint Task Force as it stood was crumbling with their temporary leader showing signs of instability.

The Black Fangs

Date: 2016-04-27 03:06 EST
"Same with me, Amaia. I'm not going to force you into anything you don't want to do. We work on equal terms. I'm not your boss and you're not mine. We are partners in other words. Also, don't worry about any god or goddess stuff that goes on. Most of them in Rhy'Din are generally just doing their own thing or keeping to themselves. They act like regular folk more than half the time anyways. If anything, the regular people around here are more crazy than them I'd think. You have no idea the craziness that goes on in this world, Amaia. Orion was probably just wanting to save you from a headache if anything." Tyris said with a smile and was glad to see Myrlene being friendly, too.

Tyris would think some and lean over onto the desk looking at Amaia, "Amaia, before you go helping Lene or anyone with anything big, here are some basic things I have on my mind. This way, you know what kind of jobs I'll send you on. Let you get a feel for how I work and the people I don't like either."

" Firstly, there's a man that's borrowed money from us and hasn't been paying. He never has his money to pay us back and likes to make excuses. We know he's using it for drugs and other things. Since he's gone a ways into debt that he can't pay us back, he's resorted to offering us things. Even tried to sell his kid and wife to us thinking we did this so we wouldn't come after him. We took them, but not as payment. They're safe in a place now and even the mother is trying to get clean at a rehabilitation center. But, that man is still out there, Amaia, and he's probably going to end up shooting someone or doing something extremely stupid. People like him get into debt with a lot of people and make a lot of bad deals and I know he's buying from others. I don't think he's worth being killed, but you could apprehend this man any means necessary and bring him back to me. Maybe throw him in jail, make him do city service, maybe make him work for me to pay off the money. Free labor."

"Second thing on my mind is there's a small pack forming, a gang in other words, and they've been hustling their way up in the streets lately and causing some trouble for innocent people. They haven't killed anyone that we've seen, but they have been roughing up civilians, taking their money, are selling off some not so nice drugs to people and are some thieves that like to break into peoples homes and take their things. Not worth killing in my book, but someone could hand their tails to them and make it clear they're not liked here anymore. Some broken bones and their place being torn up wouldn't be too harsh I don't think. Gives them a simple chance to think... and they'll be watched closely, but most people are wannabes and cowards when it comes to little packs like these. They're just young little trouble makers if anything."

"Thirdly, there is woman running a bakery in town. Makes really nice donuts, cookies and other things to stuff your face with. Donates to charities and such and helps orphaned kids. Turns out she's not as sweet as her food. She's running some child labor workshop using orphans. No parents, so no one's going to miss them. Supposedly, she feeds them well, but my friends and some sources report she's not so nice to them. If they were willing to work and make food, that's one thing, but she may very well be forcing them. I know that sounds like DFLEA business, but I'll explain why DFLEA can't do all these things right."

Tyris would take a deep breath and sigh some though. "DFLEA is very limited in how it can do things and we can't afford to have its reputation screwed up and most things we do are rather public, especially with the nosy press. Avoid Tazzy and Teddy at all costs if you can. Anyways, The first thing is if we simply jailed the drug user, he'll probably be out on the streets doing the bad things again and just waste our time getting him again. The second problem, Amaia, is similar to the first one. Not only that, but when DFLEA shows up on gang or pack related crimes it generally causes more issues on the street making DFLEA have to work even harder to stop issues. They expect DFLEA to show up, they're even prepared to make trouble for DFLEA. We have had situatiosn where things... escalate. It doesn't get pretty and there's a lot of young people on the force like Jim that just want to help the city make it better. Not get into fights with gangs. The third thing... my god if the press get a hold of that it's going to be a nightmare. DFLEA raiding a house, pulling out orphans to put them somewhere else, questions get raised, anyone unknowingly getting caught into affiliation, gets their reputations and businesses ruined, DFLEA looked at as good for doing the job, but bad for letting how long it's gone on, and the list goes on. These are the things Orion stresses about."

Tyris gave Amaia a long look wondering if she'd even take on these jobs, even though he gave light details on the situations. "I can give you more information on these people, Amaia, all you have to do is just agree and work with me as I set the guidelines to follow. Helping a city doesn't always mean blowing peoples brains out. The small things count, too. The first man I spoke of, he could get into some rehabilitation while paying me off and could turn into a good guy again. If he turns out bad still, I'll deal with him. But, Amaia, do these jobs well and I'll let you get to the more dirty things. I just want you to know you can do so much helping with just things like this, too. If you don't want these missions, that's fine, I can offer something else. " While it was a lot of talking, there wasn't much of any other way Tyris could put things. He was trying to be clear as he could and wanted Amaia to understand his stance on things. He wanted to show he wasn't supporting terrible habits in Den City and did care about what went on to keep it a nice, lovely place it was trying so hard to be. He did want to give her examples too that even if it was becoming a better place that there still seemed to be issues that was hidden away that most didn't know that went on.

Amaia

Date: 2016-04-27 22:33 EST
Amaia looked to Myrlene as she was spoken to, listening to all she had to say. She didn't mind the hand being placed on her shoulder as she was kind of starting to like Myrlene a bit seeing how she stood in the world. "I know what you mean by powers kind of taking control of you some. Has happened to me when I get really, really upset. Otherwise, I'm generally okay. The collar does a real good job of muting my powers, so even if I get all bonkers like my mom the power doesn't really show itself."

When Tyris began speaking she was relieved to hear he was going to be reasonable and work with her, too. Amaia would then listen to the three scenarios that Tyris discussed and the reasons DFLEA wasn't exactly proper for the job. She was feeling a little bad feeling so fussy with Orion now. After the long three scenarios and explanations, Amaia would sit and think briefly. While these people didn't exactly sound like evil, big baddies looking to cause hell in the world that she was dreaming of fighting At the same time, though, these people Tyris spoke of could end up becoming worse over time like one that he explained could do. On top of that helping take care of the idiots like these folks could help her in getting some reputation in showing she could be reliable in getting the job done cleanly and without issues at the same time. The smaller things could lead her to crazier nut jobs that needed to be taken care of.

With a smile Amaia would speak to them, "I think I'd be glad to help you guys. Tyris, I take it I'll be doing your little jobs there first? That way you and Lene know what I can do later and then I help you both with more things. If those three things are real I'll gladly do them right now even. So, do you just.. give me the names now, I go find them and kick their butts?"" After asking that another thought came into her mind to ask Lene specifically, "Or am I going to have to do something specific for you, too? If so, I don't mind. More butts I kick the better." she gave Myrlene a grin. She definitely had that behavior Mirius had of wanting to kick peoples butts outright, something Mirius had seemed to gradually lose over time and seemingly passing it on to her young.

Myrlene listened to Tyris as he gave Amaia the scenarios and grinned. They were some good ones to see how the girl could handle some low key things. However when Amaia leveled the question at her about having something for her to do as well she went a bit quiet in thought. She chewed over that thought a long moment or two.

"Well. There is possibly something I may have you do. It isn't exactly law enforcement related." she said to Amaia.

She'd take a seat and try to relax a little. "Tyris has you on a good series of test trials. Do good with them, you're good in my books while I figure out what the hell is going on with the Glade Marshalls and the drug issues. Until then, I do have one matter that has yet to be resolved and it's... personal in nature Amai. I have an ex-husband that need's to be dealt with. I was going to leave him alone after all he's done to me, but it seems the fool has gotten into a heavily saturated area of Chaos and... has gone insane. I'm concerned he may now be a public threat to all that get near him. He's a dragon...." she chewed on her lower lip more, her personal feeling waging war with her head.

"If you choose to accept this mission Amaia, you'll be alone. Some others have tried, so have I and my father, but Chaos... we still have some lingering scars on us from the Ebony Knight and we have difficulty getting near enough to deal with him. That said, the mission is track him down, assess the situation and determine if he is indeed a threat. He was just staying in our old, destroyed lair of a home in the mountains, but if he's gone out to raid people, he's not longer benign. Either way, benign or threat... He is to be killed. His body and mind are too far gone from Chaos to heal. His soul is to be captured and returned to me. As for any gear you wish, name it, you will have it. Rewards we will talk once I have his soul in my hands. I will not stiff you nor cheat you, my kin."

The Black Fangs

Date: 2016-05-23 16:35 EST
A smile to Amaia was given seeing how enthused she was for the missions. "Not yet, Amaia. I will need to get some more details and have written guidelines given to you very soon. Any business I have is not done here in this building, though. I have a lot of respect for Orion, so any shady business is left to the streets and not in his place of order and justice. I will have a contact meet you or have information left at your home. I have close ties to your family, so it shouldn't be an issue getting in contact with you."

"I will say you may go and deal with Myrlene's business first if you wish. I have no qualms with it. The three things I want you to do are very real, but some time can be spared for them. I do recommend not waiting long as the sooner would be better." Tyris would look between the two girls a moment. "Amaia, if you have nothing else to talk about or ask of me, I can leave you here with Myrlene. Perhaps she could show you around the city, maybe describe the hardships DFLEA has been through to help maintain this place and also leave you both to talk about the business with Moonshine. Whatever you both do is really up to you. I would say long, give some tours, but I'd rather not keep Mystix waiting. I fear my wife more than I fear any petty thug or god." he said chuckling now. "Do you have anything you need to tell me before I leave, Lene?" he asked her wanting to make sure any business he had was concluded here.

Amaia

Date: 2016-05-26 13:21 EST
Amaia listened to them both and would nod to Tyris, "Well, I think I'll be hanging around mom's place a bit, so you can drop me a letter or something there. Probably will be looking into getting my own place in this world at some point. Guess I'll need money for that first. I'll be ready, Tyris and you take any time you need on getting the information on the peeps. The more the better. "

Her head did turn to Myrlene hearing her speaking of her ex-husband going nuts and possibly needing to be killed. It did make her raise a brow to that and hearing about all this Chaos stuff being involved. She had an unsure look on her face as it sounded like she was heading a bit towards deities and other superpower stuff, but then again it did seem like her sister-in-law was in need of some help. Maybe she could do it just for her and to get on a good reputation within the family, but maybe she'd give her thoughts a little on how she felt about it, too. "Well, Myrlene, I'd be up to help, but the one thing that worries me is that Chaos part you speak of. While I wouldn't be afraid of taking on powerful things, I'd much prefer staying on a much more normal life level of business. Like the stuff I'm going to do for Tyris." she said with sincerity, but would continue, "although, given you're my sister, part of the family and all that fun stuff I could still maybe give you a hand on it. And I couldn't really let him go running around harming regular folks either I suppose. If I help, may need to take you up on that offer of needing gear. Like, a soul capturing device or something." she said. "Then again... should we talk about this somewhere else? I mean, seems Tyris is iffy on talking about handling people here and talking about killing dragons or something I feel like the old dude might kick down the door and throw us through a wall."

"Nah. We're all square here Tyris. I'll take this briefing elsewhere so uncle can breathe easier." Myrlene said with a smile.

She'd give Tyris a salute then reached over to Amaia and touched her. They both vanished appeared in the Soul Garden of Den City. The memorial garden was peaceful, quiet, and no one was visiting it at the time. Lene took her hand off of Amaia and started to walk the little paths that wandered among the manicured hedges, lawns and soft glowing soul gems of the departed that had called Den City home for many years.

She looked over her shoulder anticipating that Amaia would be following to hear some answers. "Welcome to Den City's Soul Garden. My fathers one gift to the living inhabitants here before shi grew bitter with caring about the public. A nice place of rest for anyone who passes away that wishes to remain behind and either be mentors for their coming generations or to guide those seeking wisdom not related to them.

I know your twitchy about doing my mission. What I ask is dangerously close to asking you to take a stance possibly in the whole Deity vs. God Killer feud in the family, but it really isn't Amaia. Know that I, for one, care for neither side of that feud unless someone is coming directly for my life. Then, and only then does it matter and I pity that person and their soul. What I ask though is a kindness because my former husband was not always mean to me in the early years. He was once kind but life and arrogance changed him deeply.

He's not a pawn of some god, Amaia, so you have no need to fear that you are moving against a deity. He has simply taken root in our old homestead that was destroyed in the war against the Ebony Knight. Perhaps he was seeking solace for losing me. I don't know. All I know is his mind is mostly gone. He's almost feral and when I and my father tried to move after him, we couldn't. The old taint of Chaos in the very ground there makes us hurt Amaia and that's because of what the Knight did to me and my family.

You, however, knowing your father like I do and where you grew up from, will find Chaos no threat or hindrance. As you pointed out, he is a harm to normal people. Any gear you want, I'll give it to you. I'll even hand you a scroll that will turn his body into a soul gem that will capture and keep his soul so it can be brought back to me. If you need a place to stay and set up as you own place of operations, don't hesitate to ask me Amaia. This city knows me, owes some things to me regardless of the venom my uncle has spat. I can get you set up with no cost of your own for a month or two, enough to let you get a few missions out and on your feet." She kept her walking even and steady. "This may sound stupid, but have you ever killed a dragon before?"

Amaia

Date: 2016-07-01 08:33 EST
Amai would go to stand and when Lene teleported them both she'd look around a moment then to Lene and listened to her explain where they were. She'd be nice and not interrupt Lene either as more was explained about the situation and what was needed to be done. "Hmm. " is all that came from her at first. She'd walk around a little, looking around at all the soul gems and thinking on it all. Dragon, chaos and stealing souls. Normal people endangered of being possibly killed. Things were a little stretch, but at the end of the day all of this is something Amaia was aiming to help with and she felt she couldn't deny Lene on this offer.

Amaia would turn and come back over to Myrlene, "I've killed many things, including a werewolf that likes to steal my cookies and cake on the weekends. I did try to shoot a dragon named Ferunoth at one point, too, but he just cheats and goes into his skeletal form and goes on and on about how you can't kill something that's already dead and other bogus crap. This can't be worse than a talkative dragon that won't leave you alone, right?" she said with a bit of a grin to Myrlene. "And I don't need a place as of yet. What I am saying though is I can likely help you with your case, Lene. Might need something to capture the soul, like the scroll you mentioned. If he's really putting regular folks in danger then I wouldn't mind helping you. Besides... this all doesn't sound like a chaos preventing you type thing. I'd imagine killing a former husband would be hard on some people." she added. The last part of her statement being softer showing she wasn't trying to be crude on how Lene may feel about her ex-husband.

Myrlene Spiritor

Date: 2016-08-14 12:14 EST
Myrlene listened to Amaia and frowned softly. She wouldn't look at her step-sister for a long moment. She had touched upon the main issue that had bothered her and her father the most. While her husband had done much to harm her in their marriage, he had still been part of the family by rights and it was difficult to justify raising a hand against family even when they'd gone insane.

She turned from Amaia for a moment, hiding her face and some wetness she was feeling on her cheek fur. She made a scroll of gold paper on jade rolls appear in hand and tossed it over her shoulder at Amaia to catch.

"That is the scroll you'll need..." She said in a soft, pensive voice. "It's true. He was my husband once, but once he harmed me and became arrogant about it, that bond ended and I moved on. But I still feel some compassion for him. If I didn't, I wouldn't care about him being insane and touched by Chaos. I'd have left him be to do whatever and be someone else's headache. But he isn't. He's my headache. He was my love. Something in him may still be salvageable in that soul, but sometimes... you just can't raise a hand against family no matter how dire it is."

She looked up at the stars for a bit and sighed. "Sometimes Amaia, you have to lean on others to do what you're too weak to do yourself."

Amaia

Date: 2016-09-08 05:08 EST
Amaia listened in silence as Lene spoke and would see how this was affecting her deeply. The scroll that was tossed to her would be caught as well and held in a hand firmly. She wasn't going to act smug about already getting the chance for a bounty. There was not a word that came from Amaia for a minute and looked up at the stars in the silence. Then she'd look back down to Myrlene before speaking in a gentle voice, "I know I sound like I'm someone looking for a fix on killing people, but I really do just want to help people, Lene. I want to do things most don't dare to do, which includes ending lives or something else extreme. But, know I'm not doing it for a high, but because people need it. I won't kill your husband for joy, but because you can't do it yourself. It's okay that you can't do it and I have no judgement in your choice in how it wants to be done. I could even do it immediately if you wish to end any anxiety you may be feeling before things possibly get worse."

Amaia moved over to Myrlene, put her weapon case down for a moment to give Myrlene a long hug. "I may want to work solo for the most part, but I'm sure I'll need help with someone at some point. In that case, I'll give you a call. That cool?" she asked with a gentle smile. "I mean, being in a world I know little about, I'm sure I'll have to call in some favors, too." she would add sincerely.

Myrlene Spiritor

Myrlene let Amaia hug her. It was a welcome as she often didn't do a lot with siblings the last year or so working on her own agendas. Perhaps she'd grown up too much.

"You don't sound like someone wanting a thrill from killing. You genuinely sound like someone that is trying to use the talents you were given to make the most of life and make things better for others. You're doing things both our mothers never did or failed to try to do with their own powers. So it's down to us, their daughters to sort out the messes." Myrlene gave a stiff smile wiping away a stray tear.

"You can do it as soon as you wish Amaia it is up to you, but let me give you a bit of intel on Moonshine and where he is located, how things will be roughly on how our home used to be and what he is like and can do. It'll keep you alive longer." Myrlene said and waved to the ground and the earth and grass swirled and moved to form to her magic and will to represent a bit of forest, pathways and a mountain side.

"He resides in our old homestead in the side of the mountain here, its to the west side of the Glen I believe. You go up the paths until you get to a section of dead trees that died out from old age. Take the right path and that will go up a hill to the entry of the lair. Its great for sniping so be careful. Once inside the lair is four levels deep. Each floor is circular and the stairways cork screw down. I am not sure how much he has cleared as originally the Ebony Knight collapsed the hole lair driving us out of it.

But the top floor was the den and kitchen. Second floor was sleeping areas, third a library and horde room, and the bottom one is his forge room. When father and I tried to go there we heard the clangs of his forge so it may have been moved to a higher floor." She showed the various levels of the lair, all really simple, cozy rooms for a family of three to live in.

"As to Moonshine himself, he breathes fire hot enough to melt mithril and uses his fire breath for forging metals. So he has endurance and stamina to keep blowing his fire breath for long periods of time. He has wings and can fly. He's a gray and white scaled European dragon with two horns on his head. His primary fighting tactics are heavy shields and war hammers. I don't know if that's changed with the chaos soaked into him or not. I do know though that if you plan to fight dirty, and I highly recommend it, deafen him first. He was at one point a Lupinossai that was born blind and raised as a smith. He was turned into a dragonling by my aunt Icer and it healed his vision so he chose to stay as a dragon. So if you try to blind him, he'll still have a hearing advantage." Myrlene said softly, sharing a secret Moonshine had told her when they were bonded.

"I am not sure what else to say that will help. Maybe say my name and hope it doesn't piss him off more." She lowered her head. "Yeah, I can understand that you'll need help sometimes Amaia. Knowing when to have backup keeps a person alive in our business a lot longer than someone with delusions of grandeur. I'll have your back if you ever need me sister."

Amaia

Amaia would look over the little map on the ground that Lene had made appear. She listened to Myrlene closely on the details and what Moonshine would likely do in battle. It all had her a little concerned as she generally trained against other types of people. She looked a little concerned, because she was. She had some basic combat armor that would be often for fighting regular folks, but not a dragon that could met things. There was no doubt she'd be a cooked bunny on a stick and dinner for the dragon.

She'd overlook it some more before finally speaking, "So, I may need some tricks and new gear then." she said, "I might need a few days to prepare for this, Lene. Think I might ask Tyris or somebody for some specialized Fire-resistant armor, if possible. At least to protect me for a short time to get out of the way. ALso, do you remember how well his armor is made? Is it just that old medieval junk a bullet could go through or does he make some really wicked stuff? I am wondering if I need to get some special rounds or a different gun. Are, uhm, scales good against bullets too? Guess should take that into account. And the hearing I think I can solve. Will see if I can get some traps that activate when he leaves the cave, or something."

Myrlene thought about what Amaia asked her. She rubbed her chin a bit.

"As to his current armor I am not sure what he has made, but in the past he uses Mithril Chain Mail to slow the bite of many dragon slaying weapons like swords, spears, harpoons, arrows and such as dragon scales will often break mundane weapons. That is if the dragon is a fully aged adult. He is not, so his scales are still acquiring the hardening of the outer shells still. I would say if you are facing him alone, with no armor on, any hand weapons smaller than double handed great sword, or a ballista mounted on wheels will not penetrate most of his scales. If he was flightless, he would be more vulnerable at his belly scales but they are just as hard.

However if you are using fire arms, his nostrils, eyes, ear holes, mouth and where jaw and throat connect would be the weakest to that .22 caliber rifle you use. Otherwise you will need a much larger caliber to punch through the scale and then through the leathery hide beneath it. Think of a dragon like this as a tank from the Earth period of World War I. Against it by yourself it has massive, deadly fire power and armor that is hard to combat by most ground troop weaponry. You need armor piercing ability. I don't know your capability due to your size but I am sure Tyris or even Orion can size you up with the proper bracing for larger caliber firearms.

A note on traps. Don't make them out of metal. He can smell it and may avoid it them if they are buried or he may dig them up and set them off. Hard to say with his mental state. If you allow him to fly, you are so screwed. He will do napalm strikes on you from above. Close quarters watch out for his hammer. It can collapse tunnels and electrify metal." She shook her head softly.

"I taught and trained a lot with him on how to fight. I know he can be good and wicked. I'm sorry that I am asking you to do this."

Amaia listened more closely and sighed some hearing this dragon not only have good armor, but tough scale as well. Even though Lene was considering large weapons like great swords she knew she was already out on those options considering her size. She was going to have to be a lot more careful and clever in taking down an enraged dragon of this caliber. Not that she had ever taken down one before in the first place.

Once Lene was done she finally responded, "Well, I could get some special roudns for my gun. Custom armor is going to be a must in this case I think. Although, one last question is what magical types is he resistant against? I do have a few special tricks I can do, Lene. I know I'm not well practiced like my mother in killing people souls or some junk or my father, but what I can do is short distant teleporation, levitation to help me actually fly and I can also enhance my sword and bullets of my rifle. Like, I can increase their speed greatly, turn them incendiary, explosive even. Maybe not the bullet becomes that, but be more like a magical addition to the gun. The bullets can simply carry the magical attacks with them at great speed and help the effectiveness. So, is there anything specific I should try? Fire, water? I'd try to maybe shoot at his soul.... but I know you want his soul in return, so I won't use any of my powers for that." she said softly.

Myrlene leaned on her thighs staring at the miniature model she'd recreated of a home long lost to her and her son. She chewed on her lower lip a bit more in consideration of Amaia's questions and some of the abilities she mentioned.

"Levitation and the teleportation are going to help you the most in this conflict. It is within reason he may have traps around the the exterior of the lair and being able to get out of the way of dragon's breath in an instant is very useful. As to what he is resistant to magic wise, like some dragons, magic has a slightly less effect on him, but only slightly reduced being still young. The older, more aged dragons have higher magical resistant fields around them.

He is resistant to Fire and Ice magic. Explosive magic may actually work to distract or at least concuss him to allow you to take him quickly. Lightning magic I know he is particularly prone to. If you can get him down for a bit, then you have a shot to use that scroll I gave you. Say the words on them and it'll take his soul and channel it directly to me and from there I can handle the rest.

Though if you need an edge to fighting dragons go speak with my mother, Ammy Spiritor. Ask her for anything with Dragons Bane in it. It's a natural herb that is poisonous to dragons and will weaken them when fed to them in water, food or made into an oil or paste to coat weapons and projectiles. I must warn you though. Our family has a good relation with many dragons in this realm, so asking for things to kill a dragon will bring a lot of hard questions and possible denial of the items. If she asks you why you want the Dragons Bane, tell her it is for Moonshine and that Myrlene has given you a task. She'll know you're not someone going out on a killing spree on friends we know. Also, may I suggest when you get your gear, perhaps a few practice sessions in Lurky with a few simulated dragons to see what you think?" Myrlene offered.

Amaia

"So, if I use any of my power for attacks, conserve it for possible explosive and lightning, but keep enough for defensive purposes mainly. Got it." she said The sound of all this though was definitely determining the fact she was going to have a difficult time trying to take down this dragon. With a sigh she would give a nod to Myrlene. "Alright, I'll seek help from your mom on this. Maybe ask her on some ideas on how to take the dragon down, too."

"Also, fighting dragons on a daily basis isn't necessarily on my list of things to do. If I need to I will, though. For practice, when I go back to Lurky I think what I'll do is I'll go ask Ferunoth for some help. He's a pretty strong one and maybe will give me some tips on their weaknesses. I have a feeling he's not going to simply hand out that kind of info without something in return considering he's a dragon himself. Probably going to have to do something absurd for him." she said ending her statement with a groan and unhappy look. She didn't know many dragons as it was and the one she happened to know was a crazy one. There wasn't much choice in the matter anyways. There was a mad dragon on the loose and she knew she was going to have to toughen up for the situation regardless. If she's to take doing jobs for other seriously, she was going to have to learn with probably putting up with annoyances along the way.

Myrlene gave Amaia a quiet nod. "You've got the main points for fighting him down. From there it's a matter of figuring out what methods work best for you. I'd advise learning and remembering the training you get for handling dragons. Rhy'Din here, is full of dragons. Most are peaceful. But like any race that dwells in a realm, the majority are not the trouble makers, it's the select few that decide to go rogue. You may need to use what you learn for taking down Moonshine for future missions. Den City has a small dragon populace, the Lupinossai Glade territory has quite a number of lairs. Fang Wood City has a large number of dragons and draconians and when I open the borders to my Winterpaws Kingdom, many dragons that dwell in the cold climates will mostly like come for refuge and solitude."

She gave Amaia a pat on the shoulder and back then looked to the sky a bit. "Before you go off on your tasks and missions, I know you're familiar with all of the deity malarkey that has gone on around both side of our family. You know I'm a deity, even if I don't act or do a whole lot to put it out there since I'd rather just make my kingdom and offer aid to people. Have you had any thought about your soul, Amaia? You've chosen a somewhat noble career that will, with no doubt, put you in mortal danger throughout the time you chose to do it. If you ever do die, then what? And no, I'm not a religious pomp that speaks of striving to stay on the good and narrow path, praying to some idiot and expecting things.

I am quite serious on asking if you know what will happen to your soul when your body shatters. Are you unfettered? Will you simply go on, and rejoin the collective energy and memories that exist in all realms? Will you come back as another person? Have you yet pledged to someone a small piece of your soul, that should the inevitable death that happens to all mortals happen before old age, you can be returned to try again? I ask as before I became something of a creature of Winter and Healing, I once tried to fit myself into the mold of Warrior Goddess and because of that, I hold anyone that takes up a cause, close to my heart and would like to see them succeed.

If you are unsure what will happen to you when you face death and lose that fight, Amaia, let me extend an open offer to you, that you can take or ignore. If you offer a fragment of your soul to me, and allow me to call upon you at some point in your life for a task I need done best suited to you, I will always ensure your soul is safe, that if you die, you will stand before me and have the choice to return to life or to remain a soul and join my Inner Circle of Guardians."

Myrlene turned and gazed at Amaia now with her glacial blue eyes, studying her to see what her step-sister would say or do.

Amaia

The bunny/lupe hybrid girl would bob her head in agreement while she listened to Myrlene, understanding the dragon situation was not something to tread lightly. "Don't worry. What happens with me and moonshine stays between me and moonshine. If I see other dragons it'll be just like seeing another person as far as I'm concerned. So, no worries with me on that." she said.

Then she heard Lene talking about souls and what would happen if she died and even the offer Lene had made for her. Amai was hesitant on answering or even taking Myrlene's offer. The idea was understood, but she had already seen what happens with people owning other souls. Amaia wasn't necessarily sure how to go about answering Myrlene without sounding like she was being disrespectful to her sister-in-law.

There was a look on her face like she was pondering on the answer before she finally responded to Myrlene, "Well, uh, the offer is nice... I think? I mean, I just met you and I honestly don't know if you're as crazy as Ammy or even my own mother. From what I know, if I die then I just end up going into another body. Theoretically, my mom says I can posses someone if I'm vengeful enough when my soul leaves my body... or something. I've never died though so.... I don't know how that works. I think I'll be okay. I'm sure after enough practice I can easily handle a dragon... hopefully." she said. Then just sighed before adding, "Look, I'm not trying to be mean. It's just I arrived here and I'm trying to look after myself, too. When I get to know you, Lene, and figure out what's going on then maybe I might take you up on the offer. Then again, I don't even know if that would be good for you. Taking a part of my soul could kill you literally. You might want to talk to uncle Aribius about that before making an offer like that to someone like me. I mean, he did control my father... who also can destroy the souls of gods. Even then, Aribius isn't even a legitimate god....either way, you might want to look into that before helping everyone you see. Never know, You and I could have beef later. You wouldn't want me near you at that point. Can only be so much cute purple around after all.". Amaia did end her statement with a grin though at Lene, but it was more of a playful look on her face as if they were to have some kind of amusing sister rivalry.

Myrlene watched her step sister and just grinned a little. It was always amusing for her to watch her siblings face and deal with hard decisions or topics that came from out of nowhere. It was the way Myrlene learned as a young woman herself to be the strong, independent adult that she was.

"You aren't going to offend me if you say no, Amaia. The offer wasn't something needing an instant commitment to either. More like an on going offer, out there, open to you at any time. But you did raise a good point and something I do need to discuss with Uncle Aribius. Can I deal with soul pacts with god killers? Also, while I am still learning many things and many skills and helping my husband Faan in his realm with closing portals and rifts, Uncle Aribius, for a time, owns my soul temporarily. It is how I've survived my first death by a god killer. Which leads me to another question. You may want to ask your parents carefully what really happens to your souls when your body dies. The one that attacked me when I was defending people, after fatally injuring him, his soul exploded, killings us all in that room." Lene said quietly.

"I've known your father some, and I know you mother a lot. Both are quite crazy sometimes, but good people. However, you're father isn't always on the level about many things, so I really encourage you either corner him on everything or ask your uncle. Hell, go ask Ferunoth and really explain why you want to know what is going on. Collars and wards can only do so much when something goes critical." She said. "Just know this, I've always got your back sis. Just whisper my name in prayer, and I'll be there. No strings attached, no offerings or pacts needed. Family takes care of family."

Amaia

Amaia would smile at Myrlene, "Well, you ask on that info and I'll get what I need, too. Then maybe we can sort that stuff out later. As to wards... yeah, I could just easily take them off if I'm in a bad mood. There's nothing even keeping them on me besides simply wearing them. "

Then she'd go to give Myrlene another hug before picking up her weapon case with one hand while holding the scroll in the other, "Well, I suppose. I should go speak to Ammy about that stuff and take a look around Rhy'Din and get used to my surroundings. Before I go take care of things I'll leave a message with mom to give to you before I do things, alright? You know.. just so you know I'm doing it and just in case you need to stop me in emergency or something. Sound cool?" she ended with a smile. Amaia was feeling quite confident in her abilities in the world, but the talk with Lene had made her realize she did need to look over some things before simply jumping into battle.

Myrlene gave Amaia a long hug back. "A message before you go after would be great. See, already off to a better start than most in this brain damaged family." She smirked and let Amaia go from the hug.

"I need to get going. Always things to do when there is more than just the mortal world you live in and you travel multiple planes and aid multiple realms. Watch your back and kick every butt you need to sis." Myrlene said to Amaia.

With a sharp, cold winter wind that blew through unnaturally for the season they were in, Myrlene was gone, just a dusting of snow flakes glistening on the grass as they melted in the warm air. It would also seem that Myrlene left Amaia in the Soul Garden in Den City to figure her way back to Rhy'Din City or her home in the Lurky Realm. No one could ever truly say that Myrlene was a doting or merciful goddess.
