Topic: Adjustments for the kitty and a free meal

Kerri Al Tuatha Ravenlock

Kerri was finally getting used to life in Rhy'din. The weather was nice, save that rain. That always played hell on the playful one's fur, and that was not a good thing, no siree-bob. People were getting used the 5ft and 4 inches of Mithra Mayhem, and even laughed with her as she fell/slipped/kerashed/pounced/bounced/strode/bounded/skipped/slid her way around the city.

From her apartment in the West End, hearing the battle cry of "Fear mah Kit-tay!" was a common occurance. In a world will with strange sights and sounds, refugees and absonders, good guys and villains and more, Kerritha felt right at home. Since that fateful night when Trixie stuck her neck out for our little kitten and commence to beatin' the snot outta the handler, Kerri had learned a great deal about herself and her new life.

Kerri had not seen or felt the handlers since then, her nightmares had lessened and even her bond with the Raven (Brian Ravenlock) was slowly diminishing. Maybe it was the influence of the realm, or maybe something else that was causing it. Kerri didn't know herself, save she could sense him and little else. She went to work for the Oracle as a runner for Amaltea and her staff, and she loved ever moment of it. Many a cry of "Fear mah Kit-tay" have sent the staff ducking and covering left and right. Save Tera who for some reason knew what the Mithra was up to, and easily managed to scare the fur right outta our heroine. Still it was a life Kerri was adjusting to, and loving all the same.

Then Brian stopped coming to work right out of the blue. No note, no explanation, it was just no Raven. So off she went to see what was the matter with the man she wanted to one day marry. First stop? Raven's Villa.

Which was no longer Raven's Villa, instead that beer drinkin' pal of his was taking residence. All Kerri could say is that it was damn rude not to inform her "Kit-tayness" of such a change of venue. So now it was off to the Inn, to see what she could dig up. Day after day, Kerri would drop into the Inn and watch. She learned a great deal, not just about Brian and his wife, but a lot of other patrons too. She saw Vampires (She still thinks they are the coolest thing since sliced bread, especially since there are none in Vana'diel), Dragons (Icer will always be her favorite), and all sorts of other goodies in the species department. So Kerri watched from her hiding spots, and took in this new culture and world. She even kept a little journal of sorts, some of it went something like this-

Nya ha! Day number one and I am boooooooooored! Icer is sleeping, geez she does that a lot. It must be hard to be a dragon. Lorelie says it's hard work, so I guess it has to be. Wy-uh-ree is here too, I like her! Nya ha! She is tough and a good friend. I want to be like her. Toby is back. I know Lorelie loooooooves him, but he was grumpy to me. All he does is mope and drink liquid, and mope and play with a leaf and mope some more. Nyaaaaaaa. I guess it must be hard work to be him too!

OOH! Here comes Raven! He mopes too. Why do all the men in this place mope?? I'll have to talk to Charlotte about that when I see her. Let's see what he does. Awwwwwww that inconsiderant lug! He's leaving! Grrrr!

Ooooh! Here comes that little girl of his, Loosey! She is looking mean today, and who's that? Oh yeah her Maaaaaaaaster! Nye he he he he !
Charlotte too! Nya ha! Now it'll get good! I can't believe she'll have his kid. I mean that was supposed to be m- Okay maybe it wasn't. Anyways you ever see a Mithra and Hume child? Neither have I, but it would be fun to try to make one! Har Har Har! I like Charlotte, she isn't creepy and I can see why Raven loves her and she also loves kitties!

And basically that was some of it. They came, they left, they loved, they fought, they kissed, they cried, they moped, and whined and Kerri watched. She was there Brian took that body guard job (even called him a stoopid-butt sniffer for taking it), and cheered for Charlotte when her powers returned, she laughed when Lucy thought a table leg was chow, and cried when Brian strapped her up. She saw when Brian was tossed from his horse, and nearly ran into the field of battle to drag him out. When Issy beat her to the punch she cheered. She wanted to help him somehow, but was scared to be near given the handlers an all.

Still Raven's friends helped and he pulled through. Kerri felt jealous, and with good reason. Back home she was part of that group, different people same role. It seemed wherever the doofus went, people just gravited to him. When he left Charlotte, Kerri fumed and nearly chucked a brick as he passed her hiding spot in some trees. When they got back together, she was happy. But she still wanted to chuck a brick at him. When problems began with Faith, Kerri again was fuming. Who was she to come back and cause hardship for Raven like that? If anyone was going to cause any hardship it would be her and a brick would be used.

Wyheree once told Kerri that she always had friends, and Kerri had a very hard time believing that. Kerri was worried she would always be an outcast to those she came to know before her problems began. Then a letter came for her at work. It was from Brian and is stated simply:

Kerri,

Meet me at the following location, we're gonna have dinner with Trixie and her sisters and Charlotte too. We're gonna talk about the runes and how to help us both get past this. We miss you and we want you to come back to us. Stop hiding out, and leave the bricks (You didn't think I knew did you?) and weapons. Also I need to talk to you about Lorelie as well. So we'll see you tonight.

Luv,
Brian and Charlotte

Kerri read the letter and ran into the office and simply screamed.

"bossigottagoravenandcharlottewannadinnerwithsist erslotsafoodgonnatalkandseefiendsFEARMAHKITTYseeya latersbyebyebyebyebye"

That said and done, our kitty was out the door and bounding towards the West End to get some fresh clothes and a cold shower. Kerri promised herself no matter what happened, she would help her friends from now on and would no longer hide. Soon those who harassed her friends would learn to fear her kitty, no matter who they were.
